I can't believe that I even HAVE to put a star down for NEP. The customer service is terrible. The employees on the other end of the phone do not care enough to even remotely solve whatever issue you are having with their service. The prices are through the roof. I took action when I saw my first $300 electric bill. It was in the middle of Winter, so we decided to keep our thermostat below 60 degrees for a month to see if that would help our cost (note: our apartment complex has asked us to keep our temperature higher than this to ensure our pipes would not freeze). Our next bill comes and surprise - It went up. It is no wonder that AEP just about monopolizes the city of Columbus, because NEP is in no way a competition.

I just recently moved back home to Dublin, Ohio after living in Arizona for 3 years. With that, I am very familiar with the changes from heating and cooling during these harsh winter months. After receiving my first bill since living in Ohio for less than a month, I called NEP with some serious questions as to how my bill could be so high. During my conversation with Al, I felt very reassured and more than comfortable with the amount of my bill (which really was not as high as I thought it was after Al explained everything in detail). Al was SO helpful with explaining my usage. All of the electric companies I have worked with have never been so helpful and understanding. I am writing this review, specifically, in hopes that Al's superiority will see that he is an AMAZING employee and really took his time to help me understand my electrical/water usage as well as recommendations to lower our bill for the next months to come.

I've always received great customer service from the Representatives whenever I call regarding my account. I have even received courtesy calls regarding my account status, which really help since my job has me traveling a lot, and I don't always have my bill and information on hand. Thank You Nationwide Energy Partners for the great service. I plan on moving soon, and I hope that your agency services the area in which I live.

I have used Nationwide Energy Partners for over 2 years. I haven't had any problems with the company. Your monthly payment amount is emailed to you prior to paying your bill. It was easy to enroll in autopay. It would be helpful to get the breakdown of each utility instead of just seeing one set amount for the month.

If I were looking at an apartment and found out they were only serviced by Nationwide Energy, I would find another place to live. Customer service is garbage. Prices aren't competitive. How they have come to be the power that they are is amazing to me. The person who thought up the $5 monthly "customer fee" charge is a real genius.

Terrible Customer Service. The reps lie and are adamant. NEPs rates are ridiculous. Some apartment owners force you to have this "only" provider selected as an electricity provider. They send threat letters to customers and are at all into resolving concerns. They don't care. One or the other way they will DEFINITELY get a hit and would PAY all of it back.

Fast and friendly service when I called in to inquire about my bill. The bills themselves are clear and concise. They also give you some interesting statistics about how your usage compares to other people in your area.

Great idea for renters. You only have one utility bill to worry about. You dont have to switch utilities in and out of your name when moving and you can even see a break down of how much electricity, water, ect you used to know where you can save next month.

If you are looking to live in a place with afforda...

If you are looking to live in a place with affordable utilities, NEP is not the place. Although they may have good customer service, their rates are outrageously high. For a small 3 bedroom townhome we were paying over $300 a month during the winter and over $200 in the summer. Our lowest bill was $170 and that was after having the heat and A/C turned off for a whole month. We tried everything to get our bills down and nothing seemed to help, other then basically never using any electricity. We never turned our heat above 68 degrees and even installed window covers to prevent cold air from blowing in. Definently do your research on this company before you decide to live in a place that uses NEP for utilities.

Don't affiliate yourself with this company....DON'...

Don't affiliate yourself with this company....DON'T DO IT, JUST DON'T.

NEP doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating, sis!

My boyfriend and I set up automatic payments the day we moved into our apartment complex. All 9 consecutive payments were withdrawn from our account with no issue until literally 2 months before our move out date. Again, we were set up for AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS and they just stopped taking them. They told us that our auto-pay with NEP had just expired??? We were in a 12 month lease and electric services were cut off before the lease was even up!?

Better yet.....we received NO late notice, NO emails, NO paper notice, NO phone call, NOTHING. We instead received an EVICTION NOTICE from our apartment complex due to NEP's flawed policies. Because they just chose to stop using our card on file to pay automatically, which we used for the past 9 months straight, we were served an eviction notice. Our card information never changed, the card was in good standing, and we actually used the very same card they had on file, to pay the balance that they had failed to automatically withdrawal.

WARNING! DO NOT rent from any complex that uses NEP. We know this is not our complex's fault, but anyone who uses their services is making a grave mistake. You will go through hardship, you will be scammed, and they will not take responsibility for it. We paid every bill on time, were EXCELLENT customers, and they just one day decided to remove our auto-pay arrangements for NO REASON AT ALL, which resulted in a sudden eviction notice.

At the end of the call, I tried to explain to the customer service representative that they could once and for all END our services on February 28th, because that's when we'd be moving out and would no longer be in need of their services (if you can even call it that), and the gentleman told me he couldn't stop our services, that the complex had to contact them. Ok? So you could not submit a service stop for February 28th, but you can just stop taking auto payments from excellent customers? The gentleman even told me that they had just went to court to battle the way they charge customers.

Hey NEP....here's some SOLUTIONS:

1.) Don't have a auto payment expiration date. If you have happy paying customers...why would you just stop taking payments?

2.) Allow customers to customize their contract end date. I don't recommend cutting anyone off during any part of their lease, especially if they're excellent paying customers. For example, when you opened our account, just ask..."when is your lease expired at xyz apartments?" "We will note that on your account." "Thank you for being EXCELLENT PAYING CUSTOMERS."

3.) Have a manager on shift for de-escalation at ALL times. You need it! I asked several times for a manager, because the poor guy on the phone had no answers, and he simply didn't have anyone to help him.

4.) Give your customer a courtesy call when you see something like this happening with an account. We had auto payed for 9 months straight and then you received nothing? Wouldn't that be a red flag to you, that maybe there's been a mistake on your part? This is just terrible account management.

5.) Tell your employees they're appreciated, because I can't even imagine what they go through daily, with these types of policies in place, I just can't even imagine.

First month with Nationwide Energy Partners and I am pleased so far. The break down on the bill is fantastic and shows your usage versus community average which is useful. I am enjoying their service much better than the last company I worked with.

Worst. Utility. Company. Ever. The rates they charge for electricity are astonishing and to be sneaky they don t publish your cost per kilowatt hour on your statement. We re living in an LC Apartment in New Albany temporarily as our new house is being completed, looking forward to never having to give NEP or the LC another penny. The 80 year old house we sold always had lower utility bills than what we see with NEP, just doesn t make sense.

Worst energy company I ve ever been in contact with. They WAY over charge for your electric usage, and they run a monopoly so you cannot pick another more reasonable company such as AEP. My electric bill is somehow over $400/month when it use to be like $170! Considering moving just to get away from this company. Everyone should avoid NEP at all costs.

Sub-Metering company that just buys energy and re-sells it to consumer at increased cost. Partnered with/owns many local apartment complexes leaving residents (mostly 20-somethings) with no option but to pay incredibly high energy costs for 700 square foot units.

Has been taken to PUCO countless times and SC of Ohio in process of reviewing practices.

...Somehow we were charged 700 dollars for a water bill in one month. Neither we or our apartment complex could figure out the issue and how the bill got so high. Well, NEP didn't care. The most they could do was put us on a payment plan that charges interest each month. No one came to investigate the problem, no one helped us identify an issue (had to be on NEP's part), no one thought "hey, since this isn't their fault, maybe we shouldn't charge interest (at least) in a payment plan." Outrageous and money hungry. I wish I didn't have to give one star.

Prices are absolutely ridiculous. I live alone in a 700 sq-ft apartment and pay an upwards of $150 a month. Since this company "sub-meters" their services and buys out whole apartment complexes, tenants are forced into using NEP as their only available utility provider. That being said, NEP doesn't have to rely on good reviews or great customer service to keep their business afloat. What they are doing (buying the electricity from AEP and selling it to tenants at a higher price) is illegal in most states. It's so unfortunate because I have had to turn down beautiful apartments when I found out they were supplied by NEP because I knew my monthly cost would be about $100-200 times higher than if i lived elsewhere. This company is essentially a scam and its practices are only legal through loop-holes. Avoid at all costs!

NEP has given me no troubles since I've moved into my new apartment. I enrolled in autopay very easily and quickly, and it helps me stay on top of my payments. They also send email reminders about how much I owe and when my account will be charged, making monthly bills a breeze!

I spoke to a representative when I received a late...

I spoke to a representative when I received a late notice for my account. I realized that the credit card I used had expired. I paid the bill with the representative and asked that that credit card be added to the account so that future payments could be processed. Everything was fine until September when they stopped taking the payment each month. In January I received a bill with 3 late fees. I called them and asked to pay my bill and that they remove the late fees. They refused to do this. They said I never set up the auto pay. I asked the representative how it was possible for them to collect 4 months of payments my account wasn t set up for auto pay. The rep offered to let me speak to his supervisor. Then told me she was too busy and would call me back after looking into the issue. At this point, I told the rep I wanted to just pay the bill because I had already spent enough of my life dealing with this.

It s sad that this is the way companies do business now. I am in the process of buying a house. I would caution any renter to avoid property managers associated with this lousy company. And I would advise all renters to avoid renting from any company associated with Nationwide Energy Partners.

Get ready to be overcharged for utility during you...

Get ready to be overcharged for utility during your relationship with this horrible company.

In both summer and winter my utility bills are well over 200 dollars. I'm looking at my bill and here's what I have paid over the winter of 2019-2020.

Oct 2019 130 dollars
Nov 2019 172
Dec 2019 196
Jan 2020 187
Feb 2020 222
Mar 2020 138

I live by myself and I use my utilities in a very reasonable manner and keep the temperature moderate and all my bulbs at home are LED bulbs.
Still I have to pay a ransom on utility bills.

I have also calculated some per kilowatt rates for electricity for Feb 2020 - Apr 2020, it varies between 18 cents per kwh to 20 cents per kwh! I have been paying 7-11 cents per kwh with AEP as I clearly remembered. So if you are unfortunate enough to fall in the hands of NEP, get ready for a year long journey of financial slavery.

Highly unethical company. How they're able to operate is beyond me - the way they conduct their business does not allow for consumers to cross shop other providers, thus creating a monopoly.

Every month we pay nearly $20 in fees, and our water bill is a joke. Our water bill at previous apartments had never exceeded $25. Through NEP it's typically over $70! Absolutely highway robbery. Last month my wife and I were gone for 10 days of the month and cranked our A/C up to 80 degrees and still were stuck with a nearly $200 utility bill. Absolutely absurd.

Run and hide!

The website is easy to use, and auto pay is easy to enroll in. That being said, my first month when I enrolled in auto pay, it still charged me the 150$ waved fee. They gave that back as credit toward my next bill, but that was a frustrating amount of money to come out when I didn t think it would.
