My wife and I recently bought a car here. This family business goes above and beyond to make sure you have a stress-free purchasing experience. We noticed a tiny windshield crack on the vehicle we wanted and they replaced the whole windshield for us at no cost. Also, we're loving our car!

Just picked up my car from Marshall Motors. They registered and got a sticker on it. Love the car. Ken was great no pressure. Told him what I had to spend and he showed me cars we were interested in. And did some test drives and found the one I like. Car was all shiny and clean just like it was on the website. It had some new parts in it when they went through it. All ready for a new owner. Great family run lot. One of the best around. Couldn't be happier. Check them out!!!

The Place is all about the money and not the consumer. I contacted Alan Marshall about an '07 Cobalt in which he told be it was available. Many Emails later after asking important questions, I made an offer right on the spot willing to pay the asking price and $175 doc fee; this is the time when he tells me there is an appointment to come see the car. At this point I've already made an offer on the car & willing to go get it. So Alan sold the car from under me even after I made an offer, nor did he contact me to tell me had done so, like he said he was going to. I have proof of all of this plus time stamps. This Man is a dishonest individual and I would never buy a vehicle from this dealer.

My boyfriend bought a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee from them in July, cost him $7,000. He got a warranty on the car that has since expired. There were a lot of problems they had to fix within the first 2 months he had the car. The ignition wouldn t work for one of the keys so the engine light would continuously pop up and his car would just stall in the middle of the street, the radio stopped working, the power steering went, we had to get the exhaust fixed by their mechanic which is once again broken. When we would try to email or call them they wouldn t get back to us for days. There was also things wrong with the car that we did not know about. The sunroof leaks so anytime it rains the inside is soaked and the heat does not work. Today his car was being repaired once again and we found out the issue was his engine so now his car is junk. Only 6 months after he bought it. Reconsider buying from here.

Inquired about a vehicle, got a call back within 20 min of online inquiry. stopped by the next morning to check said vehicle out and was in outstanding condition. Took for a ride and was pleased with the vehicle. Allen had me financed and registration transferred within 2 hours I was on the road in new vehicle. Very happy with my purchase and the friendliness of their staff.

I traded my 2010 auto with only 95,000 miles for an even trade for a Subaru that had 170,000+ miles he had it was only a 2008 I came back a few times engine light on ,they got it off , the next day on again,back too them they did the same thing then told them that day , and a few more times after telling them it was leaking engine oil he said it was overfollow spillage my ass I know about cars , well after my 30 day warranty it was getting worse , I ve been physically sick from the smells , won t pass inspection etc NOT HAPPY with the deal I made , they knew the Subaru was junk and refused too admit the leak , know it s time too contact my Lawyers too do something. PLEASE BE CAREFUL PEOPLE they do NOT stand by there cars the BBB WILL be notified.

If you want the best car buying experience this is the place to go. Forget about going to all these other dealers where they wanna just make a quick sale and don't listen to what your needs are. Alan and aj are the best combo in town and the most genuine guys around. They will find what's best for you and make sure it's the right deal. I've got 4 cars from them that I love. Great guys great place to go to definitely one of a kind.

Recently worked with the owner Alan on a purchase. I was interested in a car and drove from South Shore to look at the vehicle. The only reason I considered the going all the way to Beverly was based on the positive reviews people had working with Marshall Motors. Turned out the reviews were correct. Alan was very professional and easy to work with. He was not pushy at all, allowed us space to think and was open to negotiation. He provided sound advice and outlined options without being presumptuous. I will certainly make the trek back to the north shore to Marshall Motors again.

Nice enough folks. Don't bother asking to test drive unless you are ready to buy that day. And be sure to bring someone knowledgeable about cars with you. They said the vehicle I was looking at was in excellent shape. When I checked out the vehicle the entire underbody had pretty severe rust issues. Looked great on the surface, was a mess underneath.

Don t buy anything from these people. I bought my car from them but soon to realize that the car was in an accident and needed extensive repair after 8 months costing over $2000 for a $8000 car!
not to mention pressuring me to buy extra things for the car which I obviously did not.

They showed me fake receipts of repairs right before selling it to me.

They didn t even allow showing the car to a mechanic(which was obviously my mistake) but there was a reason behind it which was that the mechanic would ve told me the car is even dangerous to drive.

This business is racist, shady and dishonest. don t buy from them if you don t want your money to go down the drain.

After 3 months of searching for a car for our son we came across a car he was interested in located at Marshall motors in Beverly. Let me say we found other vehicles he was interested in located in other dealerships, but what made us buy the car from Marshall Motors was Alan. He made us so comfortable the second we stepped thru the door. He answered all our questions, he was polite and we never felt pressured. That was the turn off in other dealerships. They want to just sell a car and not care about their customer. Alan went above and beyond to We had a great experience and would recommended Marshall motors to everyone we know. You will not be disappointed.

What an unexpected pleasure. If you are wondering where you can still get good service and a car dealer you can trust, go no further that Marshall Motors in Beverly MA. I purchased a 2006 Escalade in June 2018. The check engine light for a lean code kept turning on. I took it to a nearby Cadillac dealer in NH. No one there could fix it after $2500.00. I called Alan at Marshall and faxed him all the documentation of what had been done. He had me bring the car back (now this is Feb) and he had his mechanics fix it, got the warranty company to cover it, and paid my $100 deductible. Now that is service.!!

I bought a Nissan Leaf, and had a wonderful experience. The owner was very friendly. Before purchasing, he even pointed out a few scratches so that I wouldn't be disappointed if I found them later (nothing unusual given the car's age). I couldn't be happier.

I recently purchased a 05 Toyota Camry from Marshall Motors North for my little sister, and from start to finish the experience was GREAT!! The customer service from all employees is what stood out to me! I was greeted by my saleswoman Jen who was amazing, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I finalized the deal later that day. Jen went over all of the paperwork, financing, made sure all my questions were answered. Alan called me a few days later to pickup the car. I grabbed the car, there was one slight issue that was noticed a few days later after picking up the car, and within minutes of my email to Alan it was addressed and he made an appointment to correct and fix it. Working with this family owned dealership made everything so easy, efficient and they stand by what they sell! Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a decent pre-owned car!!

After 1 year and 3 months the 2006 infiniti QX56 had to go into the shop. I wanted to thank Alan for his continued customer service. This man had to deal with me calling and texting Early morning and after business hours lol. Alan will always support his customers no how long it's been. He worked everything out with the warranty company and the master machines that he works with and got my infiniti back to me under a week. The infiniti runs even better now. I bought my car in feb, and at a great price. The service was great and very helpful

Overall, a good car, but not a great experience. I found a car on their website and spoke to 2 different salespeople over the phone for awhile before making the decision to travel 3.5 hours to come get it. Over the phone, I was assured that there were absolutely no issues with the car, and confirmed that there was no damage to the car from a rear-end collision that I had seen on its Carfax report. They also told me its tires were in good shape. When I arrived to pick up the car, it made a loud squealing noise as soon as I turned it on. The salesman told me it was the AC compressor and that I would probably need to buy a new one at some point (this was the first I'd heard of this). I had them pop the hood to check it out and there was a massive pile of branches and leaves in the engine bay (the actual cause of the squealing), which was an obvious sign that they had never even looked under the hood before selling the car. Some of the leaves were already burnt, and needless to say, that would have been a huge fire hazard if I had driven all the way back home like that. A couple of wires had also been chewed through by whatever animal had made its nest there. I also found that the trunk was dented from the rear-end collision (despite being told there was no damage), and the tires that they had said were in good shape ended up failing inspection. Overall, I was able to get the car I wanted but the experience was definitely sub-par.

Not good help they dont like to answer questions about the cars they sell and if you check there answers to see if what they say is correct you will find out there not telling you the truth and they just say what they need to say to try and sell there way overpriced cars .

I ended up buying a used Mini Cooper, and, even after a year since I bought it, Alan is happy to answer any questions I might have about service and anything else! No sales pressure! I just bought a 2012 chevy equinox from Alan ...i couldnt believe i never heard of this place...everybody was so nice and professional..they helped me get a loan even though i dont have any credit at all. I bought the car on a monday and on tuesday i was driving my chevy home..They registered the car for me and even got me an inspection sticker...i couldnt believe...it was a very great experience and the car is beautiful esp for the amount i paid...thank u again...5 stars without a doubt

Hands down BEST car buying experience. I haven't bought a car in almost ten years, so this was refreshing. I had an extremely bad experience at another dealership where the salesman insulted my intelligence and lied about my bank not doing a purchase and sale agreement etc, i grew up with brothers I know cars thankfully.... so by the time I got to them I was just flustered and ready to give up... I found a vehicle on CarGurus from their little family owned dealership and I immediately emailed and asked when we could come down, I had been searching for a vehicle Exactly like this one and it was right in my price range, Jenny got right back to me and told me there was a lot of traffic on the vehicle and I said well then I want to come down ASAP and make a down payment if I like it. She met me on a Sunday, we drove over an hour to get there but I knew this was going to be it. We drove to Peabody, their dealership is little but so personal and they really care about what they're doing, and it shows. Professional, courteous, and generally awesome.
Alan called me and recommended a certain bank for financing and I'm glad I did, i got an amazing rate and it was a done deal. From day one I had excellent, clear communication about forms needed etc, they helped me transfer my plates so I didn't have to go to the RMV, for a tiny dealership they are BIG on details. I felt comfortable and at ease, and I thoroughly enjoyed buying a vehicle from them.... I even told Jenny on my way out if she found a certain car down the road to please call us so we can get my husband a newer car too.

Got me into a car within a day, that was in amazing condition, had a great record history. The people there are also really committed to getting you into a car that will be reliable and the right fit. Absolutely thrilled with the car I bought, they were there and able to help in a pinch.

Bought a Subaru from those guys and by the time I got to my home all the alarm lights came on the dashboard. It looked like they just delete the code from the car memory and that usually would not appear for some time unless you push the car limits.

Called them they said bring it and we will fix and etc and I drop off the car take a rental on my own expense and I seemed like they just deleted the code from the car memory and they said yes sir its all done replaced the timing belt/ water pump whatever the case may be and I am on my way and not even 10 minutes on the road the same lights come on again, I called them the next day and they said bring it and I asked them and I cant be playing games and I wanted to return the car but they did not accept it this is not even a week after I got the car.

I just did not feel safe in that car after seeing those lights coming so often on the dashboard, after a week the alternator went out after another week the stereo went out and so on.

I paid $6900 for it in cash and ended up trading it in for $2300 and bought another used car same kind but this time from a real legit dealer.

I just believe the state should have some kind of control over these small dealers and they should be doing business like this but hey go figure !!!!!!!

Went to a number of lots around the area and found these guys to be top of list! Straight forward, knowledgeable, Team offering a really good value for the $$.

My wife and I spent three days driving all over MA and even RI looking for a used truck. We are from out of state and we needed a truck for our college son to drive. Before looking we scratched all the used car dealers who had really bad reviews that revealed fraud committed on other buyers before us. Those reviews were invaluable and we heard you. Thank you. We then literally went to at least a dozen and a half dealers in three days.
The last dealer on the last day was this one. Upon meeting the owner I noted that he was exceedingly pleasant and appeared trustworthy. In speaking with him about the truck he was honest about various aspects. He also didn t mind counteroffers and a bit of negotiating. One thing that irritates most car buyers are the games salesmen employ to manipulate us. There were few if any here.
In all I appreciated working with the owner and he was very helpful negotiating the draconian process in MA. He provided additional services that made everything smooth.
We have the truck now and it s running great.
I would heartily recommend this dealership. Save yourself three days and hundreds of miles, go here first.

Purchased 2008 Cadilac SRX

I Have been delayed in posting this review. Not because I was unhappy, just the opposite. I was the victim of not posting because there was not 1 thing to complain about. Unfortunatly we always post a bad review quickly.
The experience you will get when buying from Marshall Motors is incredible. From the moment I walked into the office I felt comfortable. It is run by a local family of the North Shore. They made me feel almost like family. The buying process and the post sales customer service were incredible. Alan was great to work with, he always returned phone call promptly and always had follow up to questions asked.
I would recommend Marshall Motors to anyone. They want to create customers for life and it is evident.

I have bought multiple cars from the Marshall family. I have been happy with every purchase. They are as up front and transparent as possible about each car with carfax histories and any service history they have from previous owners. They have assisted with issues after the sale. Alan has been great to deal with from helping search for the right car to financing. I will certainly be back!

Great used-car buying experience. Alan is friendly, knowledgeable, and a low-key non-pushy salesman. He even drove the car we ended up buying to our own mechanic to have it checked out. Alan made sure we were informed throughout the purchasing process, and was readily available when we had questions after the sale. The Owner/Salesman was very very very rude. He gave us the information about the car we went to see then when we ask to drive test the car he refused saying he would only let we do it if we buy the car otherwise there was no point to let us drive. I try to argue saying: "How Am I going to buy a car without knowing it drives good? This is unacceptable" then he reply saying: " He would not let us drive because We would not buy any car anyway, look at you" implying we were not good enough to by his $11K car like we could not afford ,even though we have prior explained to his we have a a Luxury SUV worth $25K+ but we needed a 2nd suv and that was the only reason we were there by then we decide to leave because I could not make a deal without driving the car first, and he got even more upset and he kept on going saying: "You keep going working with this job of yours you never gonna get anywhere in life, losers" very rude, impolite, discriminatory and unacceptable manners. I will never go back to that store and No One who don't want to have this kind of treatment should do the same. I will make sure this it reported in all ways I can.

I purchased a car from here in July 2016, and ever since all it has been is problems. I am infuriated that Marshall Motors North would sell me a car that has multiple issues every month. I have put more money into fixing this car with all the engine repairs than I paid for it. I would NOT suggest purchasing a car from here, especially considering a few of the first problems made the car structurally unsafe and although they covered the expenses for the repairs in the first month, if it hadn't rained I wouldn't have found the issue in time. There is no way they did not know about the issue and sold it to me anyways.

After getting completely burned on my last used car purchase by a shady fly by night operation I was hesitant to buy another used car. A new car just isn t in the budget however.
That said after my research I knew what I wanted and found a few local options. Marshall motors is within walking distance of my house and had 3 nice pilots on the lot, all priced right.
There was zero pressure to buy and Alan let me take as much time as I needed to look over the car and take it for a drive etc. he was upfront and honest when we discovered a problem with it during our on site inspection and immediately offered to fix it before I took it home. We negotiated the repair into the price instead as I was hoping to take it that day. Another unknown issue popped up later and again he immediately rectified it, all I need to do is drop it off to be fixed. He gave me more than he needed to for my worthless broken down VW and walked me through everything I would need to know. He took care of all the paperwork and all I needed to to was go pick up my new registration and take it over for a sticker. (All taken care of just drive in and drive out) This was by far one of the easiest car purchases I ve ever made. I would absolutely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a quality used car. I love my new to me pilot and although I plan to drive it for many years to come I d buy another car here in a heartbeat.

Very rude! Once we got inside the sales person stayed on the phone (in front of us) for few minutes, while we waited for his conversation to be over. As we waited, another sales guy came in and finally help us.

I had a successful and satisfying experience with Alan. From the first phone call to final paperwork and beyond, Alan has been professional, transparent, and easy to work with. The car we purchased was exactly as advertised, in great condition, and a great value. He has a very specific vision and model for his business, and he delivers; it also makes the process simpler and easier. We will be in the market for another car in just a few months (kids, what can you do?), Alan will be my first call.

I bought a car here 6 months ago. I paid $12500 all up including taxes, registration, and a warranty. Two weeks ago I took it in to a reputable garage to have an oil change (5000miles since purchase) and something was worn in the steering system. The car came out the garage needing: steering rack, sway arms, wheel bearings, new brake pads, rotors, and rebuilt calipers a couple of other bits and a few sundries. When I purchased the vehicle it was supposedly serviced and up-to-scratch. The cabin air filter, however, was so black and old there was no chance this was done prior to my ownership. The brake pads were so worn down (metal on metal) the mechanic stated this should not have passed the MA inspection when the car was sold to me 5000 miles ago. All in all the garage carried out $4000 worth of work on the car. Luckily the warranty I purchased with this vehicle covered $3200 of this. One must remember, this is a used car garage and you are purchasing a used car however $4k worth of work after 5000 miles was a bit rich for a $10k car. Would I purchase a car from this garage again? Maybe, however, I would suggest thoroughly checking the carfax to ensure the car has been looked after (which I had). Alongside this, I would only purchase a vehicle with a good warranty. In all the customer service and communication was good, however, I was disappointed the car was not up to the level it should have been when sold to me.

I recently purchased a used Lexus RX350 for my teen daughter. This is the 3rd vehicle I have purchased in the last year and in comparing the three dealership experiences, this one was by far the best and it completely removed the bias I had in working with a small dealership again. Last experience at a smaller operation was unpleasant. However, Marshall Motors was different. The salesman, Jack, was terrific. I explained that I wanted the process to go easily as I did not have the time to go back and forth. The car was delivered to our driveway days later. Everything went off without a hitch and the owner included a small Bluetooth device that works great and it made my daughter very happy. I would ABSOLUTELY purchase another car from Marshall Motors North.

I truly loved my experience at Marshall Motors North. I felt like I was with my own family who are looking out for me and helping me get what I truly wanted. I think this is because this is a family-owned business that truly feels like a large family where everyone is welcome at the table not to mention the lot. I recommend them so much for anyone who is looking for a used car because they are the antithesis of the archetype of the used car salesman.

I cannot stand going through the car buying process. I bought a car from Marshall Motors North last month - and it was by far the best experience. I used to buy from a Dealer down the street- never again.
Two brothers run this place and they could not have been more professional and honest. I am looking for a pick-up now, and I know who I am going to buy it from.

These guys are typical used car salesmen imo. Vaugely shady and somehow make things cost more than they should. I definitely will not use them again. Refinanced after 5 months and somehow the payoff was hundreds more than what the price was before 1000 down and 4 payments, and it didn't start off a deal at all. Good riddance!

I had an incredibly positive first car buying experience thanks to Alan at Marshall Motors North. I m so glad I decided to go with a smaller, family-owned dealership as compared to a large chain. At no point did I feel pressured, or like I was being taken advantage of. On the contrary, Alan seemed to genuinely care about making sure I found the right care to fit my needs and lifestyle. He was very friendly, patiently answered my many questions, stepped me through the entire process, and handled all RMV paperwork once purchased. He was also kind enough to hold onto the car for me for a few days, as I wasn t able to pick it up right away. He was very communicative and flexible from start to finish, and even offered to pick me up from the Commuter Rail stop nearby when I was coming to pick up the car. Overall, I would highly recommend Marshall Motors North.

The salesman there are aggressive and unfriendly , I don t fell that I was buying a car, they don t let you test drive the car you like until you agree the price they tell you, non-negotiable! Anyway, you cost a big portion money to buy something, but you will not get any service here!

This is a local family owned dealership that is actually trying to help people, instead of selling customers lemons. Alan and his father helped so much that I feel indebted to them. Alan stayed with my girlfriend and I THRRE hours on a sunday after they technically closed. All of their cars on the lot come with clean car fax reports, and they also provide warranty for added assurance. Marshall Motors is definitely one of the BEST used-car dealership I've ever come across. If you are looking for a dependable, reliable used vehicle, it's in your best interest to go to them! Alan is a great guy and he is a true professional. The little details matter to me, and his bathroom was extremely clean .

Bought a Saturn Vue, with a broken sun-roof. They said they would fix it. Could not find parts. A week later the AC Compressor broke. Cost over $700.00 to fix. Wrote a letter to owner to help with cost with no response.

This was my 3rd car I've bought ever and the best experience overall. The process was fast and clean no hassle! I went there because I seen an ad for a very nice car very affordable and when I got there it was available and appeared in all the conditions it stated in the ad. Unfortunately we decided we needed more space for our kids and pets so we where pointed towards what we requested and our expectations weren't just only met but exceeded! And just like that within an hour I was driving my new SUV ! It's been 3 weeks now and I'm very happy I've had numerous mechanics look at it and they all have said it's a great buy I recommend this place anyone who wants their expectations met and easy shopping! The owner is great and family that works there are nice they communicate with each other so no matter who you speak with they will know your situation.

These guys go above and beyond. Quick search lead me to a car they had listed. called to make sure they still had it and drove down to check it out. They had the car ready and waiting for me. Took a test drive and it all checked out. Came to a deal with Ken and picked the car up 2 days later tax title tags/inspection all taken care of. I was happy at how easy everything was no BS.

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. A few days later check engine light came on. I gave them a call and this is where they really stepped up. They apologized came and picked up the car. Told me what went wrong ( mass air flow threw a code.) fixed it and returned the car. Super easy to deal with. I have full confidence in them they are the last of the ethical honest used car dealers. Car has been running great and I will be talking to them when I need another car.

Great experience. I knew the car I wanted going there and it was exactly as described. They didn't try to upsell me the next car and took the time to go over everything and make sure I would be happy with the purchase I was making. Finance process was quick and easy. What a great experience!!! First off, my husband and I looked at their inventory at around 5, they close at 530 and they stayed open for us to come and check out the truck we were interested in 1 hour late. We checked out the truck that night, test drove it the next day, talked finances, and drove it home 2 days later (only because it was the weekend). The customer service of this family is remarkable! Alan and his father were there for us answering any questions after hours, they guaranteed any issues with the truck they would take care of, with that, a 2 days later a head light went out and they replaced it right away no problem. The cars are in great shape and their word is everything which is really nice. One on one customer service is what they pride themselves on, along with an awesome inventory all in great condition. I would go back again and again for a used car purchase. Theres no better feeling than trusting the people that are selling an important investment to you!! They do not and would not steer you wrong!

very happy with my preowned Chevy cargo van , I purchased from Marshall Motors North, did not pass inspections due to minor issues, I took it back to Marshall motors, they took care of the repairs in less than 24 hrs. pass the inspection with no problem. the best service, I would definitely give them a shout .
