The rooms are dated and was interested with bugs and insects which ravaged my kids and they got pretty bad boils from the bites. Definitely not acceptable for a Marriott. Dining options were decent and their breakfast buffet was good. But the bug bites would definitely keep me away from this place and also not recommend this.

Such a great hotel & the price was unbeatable! We used Priceline & got a killer deal of $55 a night! Staff were so accommodating even when they had huge crowds of kids visiting the area on school tours. These kids were amazing! NO complaints at all, & all so courteous to the guests around them. We had a great 2 queen room with a view of Georgetown Univerisity & the amenities we perfect for us. The gym is also a great feature plenty of treadmills & weights to share. We rented a car onsite with Hertz (pre-booked) & got front row parking included!!!!! I d suggest if you wanted to avoid the $25 parking fee you could walk a few blocks & park on the street & FREE after 6pm (street parking) helps cut costs for those on a budget or those staying longer than a weekend.
Nice hotel for the most part, rooms are nice, the fitness is in need of some repair particularly the downstairs area where the free weights and machines have missing parts and nonfunctional adjustments. Pool is seasonal. Bar menu selection is limited but taste good, drinks are a little expensive.
Beware. Horrible hotel. First off, we had several issues in the room. They sent someone up to fix them but I wouldn't expect to have to do that in an expensive room like this. The beds are hard and squeak with every small movement and there are no towel holders in The bathroom. The staff in the store next to the lobby were extremely rude. The restaurants are extremely overpriced ($15 For a basic burger) and the pool staff very rude. The only positive experience was the concierge lady and the staff that checked me in. I travel quite a bit for business and I've never had an experience like this but unfortunately it's a lot harder to change hotels with the family. I'm considering canceling the rest of my Marriott stays and going to another chain after this experience.
clean, great customer service, is all worth the price. i will continue to stay here plus is really close to Georgetown and close to all the sightseeing.
I travel to DC often I usually lodge at the Renaissance Washington DC. I opted to lodge here because of the Marine Corp Marathon rooms were scarce. I made the biggest mistake ever the hotel room was dark and dingy the color of the paint is depressing looks like a jail cell. The food I ordered from room service was terrible and overcooked. The best thing about the hotel is the bar in the lobby and I almost forgot the lady that cleaned my room was fantastic otherwise this hotel is a horrible choice!
This hotel is on a prime location, but is in a horrible state. The ground floor was renovated a few years ago, so that's ok, but the bedrooms are horrible. They smell terrible, in my room the dresser handle was broken, the hair dryer came apart when I took it out of the bag, the alarm clock had the wrong time. In the restaurant the food was just ok, way overpriced. It only got 1 star bc the staff was nice and well trained.
It's a decent place. I did not stay there I went there and said for a conference. The interesting thing about the ground for about some of the conference room space is always has a very weird musty smell. It's been this way for at least a couple of years. I have no idea why. Otherwise the place is perfectly fine. Although I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there.
So I have been here for about 2 days now and so far everything seems good. Nice staff, good big room with a view to the pool which is pretty nice. The pool is decent, not what I was expecting and it is mostly closed all the time. Overall good.
Room is clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the furniture is outdated and does not have enough outlets or a desk mounted charging station for electronic devices. This desk has obviously been retrofitted without the end user in mind.
Great location - close to Georgetown, amazing walk on the bridge, wonderful food and shopping across the bridge, 5 min Uber to the Lincoln memorial, etc. The room was really good although the building is quite old. They've tried their best to keep it as modern as possible. Friendly staff.
This hotel was much more affordable than any of the surrounding hotels, and was excellent in every way. The rooms are plenty big for a tourist stay, it's three blocks from a Metro Station in a good neighborhood that I felt comfortable walking around at night, the Metro ride to the National Mall is under ten minutes with no transfers and the ride to the airport is about fifteen minutes with no transfers, the buffet breakfast had a large variety of choices for our group of four with miscellaneous dietary restrictions (one person with gluten sensitivity, one person with dairy sensitivity, one diabetic). We had a wonderful time, and would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
Service was great and beds are super comfortable. I wish the WiFi was a little stronger and didn't cost money per night. I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area
Inoperative elevators; ice machine on floor not working so had to take elevator to two other floors to find one that was making ice; overly lumpy soft mattresses; never experienced this before in any other "nice" hotel but there was no hotel information notebook in room informing guests of the hotel amenities, i.e. pool and gym, and their location/hours of operation, hotel check out time, a list of services provided (i.e. dry cleaning) etc.; no water bottles in rm to welcome new guests, and so on. We used a luggage caddy when we arrived, but weren't allowed to when leaving. The man at the desk's repeated reason: "WE provide assistance." Only positive thing to say is that their menus had gluten free options.
The staff seemed very helpful and friendly most of our stay. Unfortunately the reason it's getting one star is because I can't post without it. I would definitely give it no stars. The whole hotel had a funky smell and we found ROACHES in different parts of our hotel. My husband killed one on the 3rd floor. He killed one in our room on the 7th floor. He went to the lobby with it in a paper towel. They told us they apologize and moved our room to the 8th floor immediately. That night I woke up in the middle of the night to find another roach walking around on our nightstand. I called to the front desk to complain at 3 in the morning! I couldn't sleep after that and booked another hotel in the middle of the night. I checked out a full day early. They gave me back my money for 1 night and also comped our parking for our stay. They told me they never heard of this problem before, which I HIGHLY doubt. I traveled with two children under 5. It grossed me out so bad I didn't even feel comfortable at the second hotel. PLEASE DON'T GO HERE.
I am pregnant from out of state, I also have my kids and nephews. Came for a visit, and well I am not happy. I ve called the front desk 3 times it s 2 am. There are people smoking on my non smoking floor. So much so that the smoke is seeping into my room. The smell is turning my stomach. So far the one time hotel security did show up. I heard them.. if we catch you, you will be charged.. um sir? I peak out the door to speak to security and the entire floor smells like cigarettes. I will be asking for a discount in the morning and checking out as well. The hotel is not enforcing no smoking have several smoking areas outside! It s 2 am and I m disgusted and now nauseous. Worst night of our arrival.
Hotel is beautiful and very clean. There were a couple of very minor maintenance issues in the room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The only real complaint I have is that there is no free wi fi in the rooms.
There was a problem with my reservation l paid for two nigth and when l arrive they informed me that l have only reservation for 1 nigth and is next day locally. Also the room was not the best especially bathroom looked like from 80 time stop there. Only what was good location but parking overpriced.
Spent my honeymoon night here 35 years ago. Came back for a visit and was completely disappointed. It does have a great location on the river and close to the Metro but the facility should be replaced.
I stayed here for two nights for a business trip. There was good customer service and location, but by far one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed in. I found questionable marks on the walls, stains and hairs on the discolored bath towels, a black smudge on the sheets, a stain on a comforter, and miscellaneous trash on the floor and behind the furniture when I arrived. There was also already writing on the door hanger provided to order breakfast. I would not stay here again.
The provided toiletries were also subpar, and the shampoo left my hair oily.
The gift shop conveniently sold phone charger cords, although for about 2x the normal price.
The room was a little small so they gave the four of us a free bump to a suite. It made our stay so much better. Very friendly staff and clean. Right across the river from Georgetown and Georgetown cupcake. I'll stay there again next time I'm in the area.
An old but well maintained property. Staff is extremely friendly and will go out of the way to help! Fitness center is also of a decent size for a hotel as well
Must pay for parking, must pay for internet, no fridge in the room, no microwave, no complimentary breakfast, pillows are too soft, and the beds are not the best. I'm also pretty sure they kill your cell phone service when you're inside the building. To force you on to their WiFi which costs $12.95 a day or $16.95 for "high speed." Outside in my vehicle, I have full bars and my phone works fine. Inside my room I have full bars and I can not get a single mobile web page or any app to load.
I will never stay here again. Save yourself some money, go elsewhere.
Key bridge provided a professional and friendly staff for our event. The rooms were well maintained and they provide all requested equipment. They are quick to respond to our needs as well. It is always a positive experience at the Key Bridge Marriott
The room was clean with updated bathroom. Beds were comfy though the pillows were ridiculously small. Not a real issue just seemed weird. Staff was very accommodating with the event we were there for with check in/out options and even bag holds (it was the marine corps Marathon so we couldn't take all our bags with us to the race if we checked out early) at no extra charge.
The room was clean. The service was friendly. The meeting rooms and adjacent restrooms were more than sufficient. The views were nice. I saw the Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson memorials from the top floor. The catered food was all tasty, strong coffee, great fruit salad. The overnight guest internet was not free.
Very bad experience I had. Very expensive with old hotel and bad cleaning. The facilities of the hotel looks like you are in 90 s not in 2019! So old really, and very expensive even the parking you would to pay for it $25 per night what???? And they even take deposit $50 for each night you spend with them. They charged me parking for 2 nights and deposits $100 for 2 nights. So make sure you have enough money if u want to book with this bad hotel. NOT Recommended at all. Avoid it
The hotel is centrally located, reasonable prices and the staff are very polite and courtesy but they need to add safes into the rooms and some cleaning needs to be done a little better.
A dumpy old Marriott, from the faded sign at the entrance to the room interior. Lobby is dated late 70's orange furniture and wall coverings. Room smells musty and bed is a sack of potatoes. Only missing tube TV to send me back in time.
Just spoke with front desk, this is the oldest Marriott property in the network worldwide. Going to be torn down in next year, hence no maintenance.
I travel 100 + nights a year. This is worst hotel last in 5 years.
I've only been here for a few hours, and the only reason I'm here is because my agency booked a block of rooms here.
Smells: This hotel stinks. Literally. Walking through the hall, there was just this awful, musty odor. Smelled a bit like cigarette smoke and funeral home. But then I ended up on an elevator that smelled like a huge bag of chicken compost. The room itself smells musty, and the pillows smell of old sweat.
Look and feel: Beyond the awful smells, the halls are low, narrow, dark, and give off the nice hourly-rate motel vibe. It feels dirty and scuzzy. The room is small and dark, and yet not dark enough to watch a TV show on the absurdly dark TV screen in the room. What should be bright white is more of a calm gray. Good luck watching anything with night scenes. And there's no way to adjust the picture settings. Tried getting someone to come fix it--front desk said they'd send someone, but no one showed up.
Accommodations: The bathroom is small. I've had better accommodations at a Courtyard by Marriott. The beds seem really old and cheap. The linens do not smell fresh.
Noise: When I checked in, there was something extremely noisy happening in the lobby. But the person checking me in did not feel the need to speak up. That was frustrating.
The hotel seems to be adjacent to the airport, so look forward to hearing commercial jet engines directly overhead every 5 minutes from dawn till dusk.
The AC and mini fridge also contribute to a wild amount of noise you'll get to experience, too. And the walls are pretty thin, so hopefully you enjoy listening to your neighbors coughing, sneezing, and loud TVs (among other beauteous sounds of the night).
The only reason I gave this place a second star is because the concierge lounge had decent food. This rating subject to change since I'm here for two more nights (if I live that long).
It smells gross in here. I cannot stress that enough.
The rooms, the location and the view are perfect. However, the fact that there is paid -and expensive- WiFi, instead of free, can be a deal breaker for some.
Nice hotel convenient to DC, GWU. Reasonable rates some rooms have nice river views. $30-40 uber ride from Dulles. Nice staff, spacious lobby. A little dated and still a nice place to stay.
Close to Georgetown campus, nice rooms. Sometimes difficult to find a parking space, however. Garage almost always full, and most of the outdoor lot appears to be reserved for a car rental company and buses.
While it is convenient to Washington, DC and Georgetown, the place is old, dirty, stinky, and ugly. The entire hotel needs to be town down and rebuilt.
The building is old and doesn't look like much from the outside, but the staff is to notch and the room are modern and well maintained. Plus you can get a nice view of the Potomac depending on your and within walking distance of Georgetown m
Vending machines were not working...So I extremely thirsty alllllll night...they gave me the farthest room they had regardless of the fact that I had 2 big bags n an i fant in a car seat...did not help ir even offer to help me with the bags...and showed me the longest way to the rooms...wanted me to pay $13 dollars for wifi . Honestly I will neve go back there.
Good hotel. Very reasonable rates, great service and rooms. Nice bar. A bit overkill on the air freshener (can actually taste the chemicals, which I do not like). But overall really good. Will stay again.
As a loyal Marriott customer that has been on Elit/Platinum guest level for many years I would rank this hotel as a bottom tier hotel when it comes to both room quality and staffs attention to their guests needs and comfort. It s unfortunately not a hotel that offer a relaxed and comfortable hotel rooms and environment.
This isn t a horrible hotel, but by far the WORST Marriott hotel I ve ever stayed in!!! It look more like a 3 star hotel. The best place in the hotel is the Lobby. That s it. The rooms look dated, and the worst complaint I have is the elevators. They take 13 seconds to close when getting in. They also stop and shake a lot. The act very weird. I couldn t help but notice they didn t have their inspections posted in the elevator. I looked on OSHA s website and legally they HAVE to have their newest inspections posted inside the elevators. I asked front desk about it and they got offended and gave me an attitude about it. Told me it clearly says in the elevators that the inspections are in managers office . I have pictures to prove they re not at all. One quick report to OSHA and they will be paying a GREAT fine!
Stay some place else for what you're paying. 185.60 a piece, the 3 of us paid. For 2 nights. Not the price i was quoted online when I booked. 25 dollars to park. No wifi unless you go to the lobby or pay money for it. No breakfast unless you want to pay for that too. No mini fridge or microwave. TV barely held a signal. Air doesnt work, the room was muggy the whole time we stayed. Only good thing was the bed was comfy but bring your own pillow. And its a short walk from georgetown and rosslyn station, other than that I wont stay here again. I will stick to my Windham Hotels for cheap that are much MUCH better than this.
I stayed at the Key Bridge Marriott 14 July to 17 July 2018 and my stay was wonderful. I almost missed out on a great deal due to some of the negative reviews I read. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Yes the hotel is old, but it's very well maintained.
Staff friendly and helpful. Good location with convenient distance to metro station. My only issues were with the building itself. First old and in need of renovation on my opinion. Second, I felt that my room itself just felt strange, small, and just not up to past Marriott experiences. Can hear everything going on in hall and other rooms - Saturday night was miserable from a noise perspective. Very odd design due to being old and constantly added onto.
This hotel is outdated. The television doesn't maintain a signal on the basic cable stations. Trying to watch NFL/MLB on ESPN was near impossible. The bathroom ceilings are false ceilings creating a mold smelling sensation covered up w/ caulk, the refrigerator compressor will keep you up all night, and the beds haven't been replaced in a while (lumpy). I've stayed here 2x in the last 5 months and both rooms had these issues. In short, its your typical old DC hotel (moldy and old) even under the shadow of Marriott's headquarters.
