I went there for a work event. It was nice.. good food
The rooms are comfortable and cosy. The hotel is located closest to all tourist attractions
Very nice establishment. Attended a prom held in their Georgetown Ball room and I was satisfied with the accommodations although the space for the venue was minimal at best
I stayed at this hotel over this past weekend. I was not pleased with my stay. First, I was charged a $25 parking fee. I can see if I was there for an event like a lot of people I saw were, who may not have been staying at the hotel for the night, but for me to pay for parking and I was guest at the hotel was uncalled for. Then once I got into my room, there were stains in the toilet as if it was just used. I flushed it and the stains were washed down the toilet. That tells me the toilet was not cleaned. Then there was no microwave in the room. I had to go down to a store and wait in a line that apparently all guests have to use. The hotel is huge and for there to be one microwave for use was insane. I slept good but was woke up at 8 am to the grass being cut. Grounds and maintenance should not be cutting grass at that time of morning, at least wait until 9 or 10 am. I wont be staying here again.
I've never stayed at a hotel with a better staff and I've stayed at more than 500 hotels in the past 10 years. From the pre-arrival support of Isma at the front desk who went above and beyond making sure my trip and experience was top notch to the constant top level service from Hagara, Forhad and Joel the restaurant manager in the Concierge Lounge, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The location is perfect with scenic views of Georgetown.
Good location and great customer service, but the hotel badly needs an update. I travel a lot and stay at a lot of different Marriotts, but this one has the tightest shower af them all. My tiny apartment in NYC has a better one. The rooms are also pretty small and a little dusty.
All said, if you plan to stay in DC, I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are much better options.
This was the worst hotel experience possible. First we had to wait 3 hours after the check in time in order to get a room. They did not offer any consolation in terms of an interim room to let us use for the time, even though we had two toddlers in a car for 6 hours, which we reminded them of as we were asking about our room. Instead we had to wait in the lobby. The pool was closed due to an accident that occurred there and was being emptied and clean (so good thing to know they do keep it clean I guess?)
in addition upon check out they charged the wrong credit card (one of my aunt who was in the same room block). It has now taken over a month to even talk to a person about it. They have directed me to accounting but have never received a call back. Even after having to send in a credit card authorization form via email, and getting no response.
When I call the front desk they immediately transfer to Accounting which automatically goes to a voicemail that has never been returned.
HOrrible customer service, horrible conflict resolution.
Can't believe this is is a Marriott, old, rundown and way over priced...
Decent, close to my work, clean. Difficult to navigate once I'm inside though (elevators don't always seem to get me to where I need, and I get turned around if I'm not careful)
This is located at just next to key bridge on Virginia side. They had complimentary breakfast with amazing custom made fresh omelets. Rooms were tidy with an amazing view.
Stayed here a few weeks ago while visiting. The view from my hotel room was amazing. The hotel beds were heaven! I would fall asleep within minutes of laying down and would stay asleep for hours. Definitely recommend this hotel for a great nights sleep.
Worst Marriott I ve ever stayed at. I went to take a shower and the prior guests soap and shampoo were still in the shower. Furthermore, I had no hot water. I let the front desk know and they said they would send an engineer to check things out. It never happened. I returned to my room and no one had checked the water. I still had only cold water in the sink and shower. Frankly, this Marriott has been so horrible, I m seriously thinking about converting to Hilton full time. Absolutely unacceptable experience!!!
Decent but old. Not a fan of the drop ceiling of the bathroom. Over all not bad though.
Very easy to get to, especially walking from the Rosslyn metro. I visited for a company training event and the lunch provided was delicious and the views of Georgetown and the Washington monument were incredible.
Beds were very comfortable and the staff members were very nice
Terrible service, uncomfortable beds, a hotel that used to be nice. I will not stay here again. This is not your typical Marriott
We got this hotel through priceline so we didn't pay anywhere near the 199 per night price. With that being said the hotel was older but clean. Rooms where dated but clean. Parking garage was a bit pricey at 20 per night but the location to the metro and views of downtown made it well worth it.
The staff is the best part of the hotel. They are well trained and very courteous and kind. Very helpful, everyone from the janitor to the front desk.
We were very disappointed the pools were closed and in disarray. There were ladders and chemical buckets all around them but no sign saying they were closed. I asked the front desk and they are closed until Memorial Day. Huge bummer, that s a big reason my husband booked the hotel. Plus we re half way through May- it s freaking hot! The pools should be open!
There is no free breakfast. We didn t realize that beforehand so we were bummed out. The cheapest breakfast option they have is $7 for egg whites, spinach, and an English muffin. My husband walked to Target instead and got us supplies for breakfast and we got a dozen bagels at the train station. .
The refrigerators are minuscule! Seriously tiny, it s so funny. They work though.
Bathtub looked like it was falling apart a bit and weird stains on the shower curtain. The water gets nice and warm though.
The WiFi is $12+ PER NIGHT. Why anyone would think that s a reasonable price is beyond me. So expensive, I don t care who you are! The parking is also +30+ PER NIGHT. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy! Don t even bring a car. Just walk everywhere and take busses and trains. Rent a car to get there then return it and take public transportation. Trust me.
Pros:
Hot water
Enough towels
Great staff
Great location
Cons:
No pool
No free breakfast
Expensive WiFi
Small rooms
Crazy parking fee
Hotel itself is nice, service good. Metro station is about a 10 min walk.
This is my goto hotel when visiting Washington.
Good food and service and the usual Marriott service and room quality. Good location
Fine I guess. Nothing special and way of the beaten path
Amazing view of DC!!! Nice rooms!!! Have indoor pool!!! Hot breakfast!! Amazing design!!! Nice staff!!
Bathrooms are small and cramped, showerhead isn't connected to wall properly. Nice lobby but rooms need an upgrade.
old and dated however rooms were clean but the place has a general funky smell about it kind of like the smell of an old apartment building and the Knicks of all different types of foods. The accommodations aren't the greatest. The staff is friendly and nice however their command over the English language isn't the greatest and bartending staff is awful, drinks extremely overpriced and pretty much anything that's not included with your room is overly priced. Given that it is fairly centrally located in the business center I would say it's convenient but in real need of a makeover.
Second oldest Marriott in existence. Great Location. Friendly Staff. Incredible rates. With a high potential to have a great view from just about any room. Just watch out for the almost-but not so lovely but certainly quite bitter older Asian barista at Starbucks found on site.
Rooms clean but outdated. Bed was comfy but bring your own pillow. Parking was expensive and not included. Free wifi in lobby only! This place needs a makeover but not bad for price.
Nice enough and convenient. However, when I entered my room it was very evident that someone had been sitting/laying on the bed and they had used the toilet and sprinkled urine all over the seat. Had to wait for them to clean the room because they were fully booked.
Next time, if I have a choice in lodging, I will check whether the YMCA has availability before I come here. Bonvoy Titanium & lifetime platinum, so I ve seen the inside of a few hotel rooms and I have to say that this is among the worst hotels I ve seen with the Marriott name. Tiny, dated rooms and horrible facilities. I stayed here a few years ago and found it to be quite decent for a seventeen night stay. This time will be the last. I hear they are demolishing some of the hotel, renovating the rest, and adding apartments. I think the only good renovation would be if they missed with the wrecking ball and knocked the whole damned thing down.
A very Dusty implosion today: Hotel gone 12 13 2020
Very nice hotel, with superb views from the upper floors. Restaurant is OK. Coffee shop is good but slow. A but disconnected from the rest of Rosslyn.
Rooms can be a bit small, but some have great views
Nice hotel compare to its price. Their staff are pretty nice to me and always trying to solve your problems.
A "historic" hotel for Marriott and the DC area - happy I had a chance to stay there.
Full service Marriott tucked away in Rosslyn. 5 minute walk to/from Metro station. Outdoor pool, full service restaurant, concierge lounge. Good and friendly service. The property is just a bit aged past its prime.
Nice clean room. It's about a quarter mile or maybe a third of a mile to the Rosslyn metro stop. They have a gift shop with sundries in case you forgot anything and it serves Starbucks brewed coffees (not barista style... Just the brewed).
But, I didn't like that parking was $25/day and that WiFi was $12.99/day; I also didn't see these things posted on the website so they we're last minutes surprises I didn't appreciate.
No Continental breakfast in the morning. And room service came with a fly in the in the packaged sandwich (yes, a fly wrapped into the packaging and happily nibbling on my sandwich). When I complained, they brought some "complimentary" fruit because they were out of sandwiches... but I didn't get a refund to the room service charge.
Just not what I'd expect for a Marriott. You pay more for the amenities but here, I was disappointed.
This place is a doghouse. Was there for a conference and while the location is good. I ll never step foot in there again. The hotel room s were musty with black mold on the porch door. The bed mattresses may never had been changed since it opened in 59. I ve been taking Alieve all day trying to reduce the stiff neck and back from these flop house mattresses. The moisture in the room was enough to make the pillows and bedsheets wet. Even in the conference rooms they were unable to regulate temperature which is not conducive to a suit in the summer. It s unbelievable to me that a place in DC carrying the Marriott name would be this bad. I d rather stay at a Red Roof inn. The staff at hotel were very nice and should be commended since they have to handle a steady stream of complaints. I called Marriott Cust Service and some guy named Mike passed the buck and put me in a never ending queue until I eventually hung up. Be very cautious of Marriott s with ratings under 4.5 because it could ruin your day. THIS PLACE IS NASTY!
So-so. Needs updates to the rooms. View is nice from one side. Internet TV not working while I was there.
Marriott is always my go to place as it's always clean and family friendly. Nice indoor/outdoor pool and great on site food.
Inconsistency is the only consistent thing about this place. The staff are unhelpful, and while the view may be nice, you don't always get it-even if you paid for it. Please stay somewhere else and save yourself major headaches that will occur here.
Place was dirty, there was a used bar of soap, no trash bags, they need more cups, sugar, and coffee, and more stir sticks. Also better cleaning service.
If you need access to DC, but don't want the DC BS stay here. 12 minute walk to Georgetown or the Rosslyn Metro.
Feels like the best hotel, for the price, right outside DC. It has a nice bar and two gyms.
We drop in for lunch at the restaurant there once in a while. The food is delicious, but over priced. The service was excellent. Mebrat was our server twice and she is wonderful.
Decent location, but the hotel is old and looks it. Gym is not great and the restaurant is mediocre with slow, but friendly service.
Just ok. Have to pay extra for wi-fi and breakfast.
Great location and staff, beds were comfy. dated but they keep it up. Food was pricy but very good. Walking distance to the Metro line -- great for moving around DC
Clean room. Hotel needs updated badly. Tv didn t work, balcony door didn t open, and exhaust fan didn t work. Staff was very nice!
Super helpful, friendly staff. Our housekeeper in particular was a joy to see when we'd share the hall, and we came back to some nice notes from the hotel/staff that felt very much like a PR campaign, but it made us feel good anyway.
The original Marriott hotel. It still holds a lot of sentimental values to me.
The interior of the building can use a renovation/ rejuvenation. The same for the pool and gym area.
Overall I would still recommend booking a room here.
Also my two favorite evening walking spots are right in front of it; the Francis Scott Key bridge and Roosevelt island.
Please please renovate this property. It feels as though nothing has changed since my parents stayed there to visit me on campus
I was there for a conference and lunch and the staff was fantastic and the food very good
The rooms are clean and fairly comfortable, although small. Not smallish, small.
The furniture is fine and I assume they will put in real TVs before February 2009. The location is great if you are sightseeing (this would explain the tourist trap prices). They are in the process of remodeling the rooms, so I hope the room I'm in hasn't been done yet.
For some reason, they are unable to make keys today. So whenever you leave your room, you have to find an employee with a key card to bring you up.
I will not stay at this hotel again, and I know Marriott can do so much better.
It's nice. The staff was super friendly, especially the concierge May. I would highly recommend the 14th floor lookout windows too.
I did not like to stay at this hotel Saturday night the building had a fire everyone had to hurry up and leave out the hotel and i had just got the baby and a 2 year old out the bath tub and i had to havy up and put something on them clothes and leave out I will never come back to this hotel again and the room was to lil than how it snow on the website.
Excellent friendly staff. Easily able to check me in early after my red eye flight.
Best thing about this property is location, situated across the river from DC in Arlington. I could see Georgetown University from one side of the hotel across the Potomac River. There's a Metro train station two blocks walk. On the downside, they "guarateed" me one type of larger room with my "reservation" that wasn't available once I arrived. So they stuck my family of 5 in a small room. That's how they treat a loyal Gold Elite member here. They didn't offer us a discount or additional points for the screwup on their part. As far as housekeeping, our toilet lid had a big circular urine stain that didn't look like it had been cleaned in a long time.
The hotel is nice and service was as expected of a Marriott but the rooms need a refresh.
While I was very happy they could check us in early since we needed some sleep the relaxation ended there. Rooms on the 14th floor clearly get NO hot water and honestly no warm water. It was barely tepid. Uncomfortable to shower in let alone to wash your hands. When we called they said run the water for a while. We did that for like 15 minutes (such as waste too). I've been in hotels with no water but this is the US, staying at a Marriott. This simply isn't appropriate. I'd never stay here again.
Awful customer service. I paid in advance for the room I booked and I arrived and the room was not paid for and I ended up paying more. Then tried to order food and they wouldn't deliver it to the room. I had to go get it. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Very nice rooms, good overall renovations, safety first, always a lifeguard, great meals
Great Location...Great Staff...Specially Minzhi..Server snd Bartender...Amazing.
Room was ready early on new year's eve. Check in was quick and efficient. Parking was free for new years otherwise it's normally $25.
This is a sad little Marriott is serious need of a little tender loving care and updating.
The lobby is a 1990s throwback. The sadest item is the bar and those behind it. Four of my group of five grabbed cocktails and the fifth only wanted coffee but the bartender wasn't interested in using the machine and brewing it for him.
The rooms are tiny and the wifi is an homage to Prince's 1999 - slow and unsteady.
We had several problems with noise and had to switch rooms twice because of it. For the first one, they rented the ballroom above us to a loud party, which was supposed to end by 11, but we wanted to go to sleep earlier as both of us had terrible headaches. For the second, the guests next door were having a party. The third room, which was by the stairs, was quiet.
In the morning they refunded us the cost of the room, though, which was fair.
UPDATE: Christina D. from management called me and apologized for the error and fixed the charges. She was very courteous and helpful in finally resolving the issue.
BEWARE of Fraudulent Charges and no help in resolving them. I have stayed there on two separate occasions over the past two weeks; the staff is helpful and friendly when you are present at the hotel. The location is great since its easy walk to Georgetown and the Metro. The reason I am giving one star is because on my last stay, they charged me two times for the last night I was staying. I tried calling during the weekend and the person I talked too did not understand what the issues was - despite my bill showing two hotel room charges for the same night. She told me to call back Monday since the person who handles billing did not work during the weekend. It is now Monday and I have called 5 times; every hour on the hour and left messages, it seems this person dies not work on Mondays either. I checked my credit card account this morning and I see that they charged me a again for the stay.
So as of now, my room for that night originally cost $322 without taxes. I have been charged additionally $342 and $346 for that final night. $1010 before taxes has been charged to me for a night and no one at the Marriott seems to be able to help with this situation. Stay somewhere else, there is Holiday Inn right across the street.
This hotel is the second oldest Marriott, and it can compete with ther best of them. I enjoy simple, clean, undramatic stays when I travel, this hotel gives you that a so much more. I'm sadden to it go.
Nice clean hotel. I was there for a conference. Meeting room was top floor. Food and view were excellent. Unfortunately it was not restful due to city construction right out the window, jack hammers and all, throughout the entire night. However, outside the hotel's control, they were understanding and very polite and comped me with points when I mentioned something in passing during checkout. That earned them the fifth star as it was offered and was unexpected. (It was a literally, 'gee they did road construction all three nights' 'oh, I'm very sorry sir, may we please comp you with additional rewards points?') The staff are that nice!
Location was close to public transportation and in a quiet area. Staff were pleasant and ever helpful. Great experience!
Very nice hotel. Hospitality and staff is so good and helpful. Awesome location
Going to be torn down soon. But in pretty good shape, for now.
Motel quality, at Marriott prices. Mold in my outdated bathroom, a towel with marks and holes, dust, and stains/markings on the furniture. Not the Marriott I know as an Elite member. Definitely not worth the price.
The location is great and convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable and the service was quick and easy.
The hotel is kind of an odd mix of dated and updated - some parts of it have an updated style and amenities, and parts of it look worn or old. So far it's been a comfortable stay, though. The layout can be a little confusing and the route to a room circuitous, but the room itself is well-kept with typical Marriott amenities. The exercise room is well-maintained and better equipped than most. I was especially pleased to see a pull-up bar until I realized that it was too close to the ceiling to actually use properly. Overall, it's a good place to stay, especially given the extensive meeting facilities, but not the best.
The Keybridge Marriott had a wonderful location, making many places in DC and Virginia in walking distance. It feels upscale and kid friendly at the same time. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are also two gyms. I always enjoy my time here.
Near Rosslyn Metro station ( <10 minute walk). Convenient restaurants in hotel along with room service. 15 minute walk for neighbourhood restaurants/grocery store. Free wi-fi is only available in public areas. Pay wi-fi if you need it in your room. Staff is friendly.
Really nice hotel. Great Staff. I will definitely recommend this place.
This hotel served as a finishing point for a 24-hour bike ride my club hosted. The hotel was quite accommodating to our needs and was tolerant of the exhausted riders. We all had breakfast, which was quite good
I have a very high regard of the Key Bridge Marriott due to De'Angelo of the Security team. When few people were able to help assist me in my request, De'Angelo went out of his way to make sure my request was taken care of. He personally saw to help me with my needs and was kind enough to check back in with me. Because of his dedication and willingness to go the extra length, there is no doubt in my mind I will be recommending this hotel to all of my colleagues and their significant others as THE place to stay in DC. Thank you again De'Angelo. Really meant a lot.
Bed was incredible, pillows comfy, but I found the walls to be incredibly thin, taking in all of the sounds of the shenanigans taking place in the hallways and adjoining rooms. The shower was slow to drain, but the provided toiletries were top notch. WiFi is $13/night, which was frustrating. Check in and check out were a breeze, we were pleasantly greeted by every staff member that we passed. Overall it was a pleasant stay, but the few nagging issues kept this rating at a 3-star.
Great place, attended an event at the location for work. Lots of room in the ballroom area for a group of 100+, and the finger foods were all quiet good. Stopped by the hotel bar afterwards, decent food with a nice cozy atmosphere.
Good location, walking distance to Georgetown. Clean even if dated Marriott. Pleasant service and on par with the brand.
Had some problems with our extra bed. Had to go to the reception 3 times to get them working on it. The pool is very nice and the room clean. Overall its okay
Attended a wedding reception here and stayed overnight. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Onsite parking garage seemed fairly expensive for regular rates but it was included for the wedding rate we had.
