The hotel is very nice and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and with the exception of some small glitches a great place to stay. But some of the prices for coffee, yogurt, etc are a bit high

Great hotel located in a residential area----I stayed here for a work trip. It is convenient to everything and did not take long to get into downtown D.C. The fitness center is fabulous and was much needed after the many delicious meals I had at the hotel restaurant. I did not expect much from a hotel restaurant, but Cooper's Mill was amazing.

Very disappointed in this place. While the establishment is clean, and modern.... the staff wasn t friendly and there are misc hidden fees for Parking and internet. They didn t state this up front. Will not be staying here again.

Paid, checked in and then was informed that they don't have any cribs. Yeah with two small infants and it's nearly midnight and you don't have cribs? I mean... Seriously????? This information is not mentioned anywhere on the website or anywhere else. Even if you can't offer cribs due to Covid, at least mention it somewhere!

Hotel was very clean and staff was very professional and friendly. Room accommodations were great, really enjoyed the view. I was disappointed that I could not get a beer at the hotel. Even with the pandemic the limited menu being offered was perfect and food was cooked fresh and tasted great.

it was clean, the staff were great. The room was nicely furnished, and the gym had first class equipment. The lounge/restaurant was loud however, there wasn t a quiet place to unwind and have a conversation, so it was 4 stars for an otherwise excellent experience.

5 stars for the very helpful staff, restaurant (local sourced & excellent), and fitness center. There is no concierge, but the staff was very helpful on a few unusual items. The fitness room is large - not just a converted hotel room- with plenty of equipment and open space for yoga.

Friendly staff and they were paying attention to the facility. I arrived late in the evening but still needed to wait for someone else to check in. The staff did engage with me while I waited and even followed me outside as I went out to greet my companion. If I had ill intentions this would have bothered me. Room was nice and clean, very modern, nothing to complain about.

Absolutely LOVE THIS HOTEL! We stay here every time we are in Maryland. There staff is always nice and inviting, and always very accommodating!! They have the Cooper's Mill restaurant downstairs which seemed amazing fresh food. The breakfast buffet is to die for!! They have everything imaginable!

The gentleman who checked us in was so knowledgeable about his Hotel. There are not a lot of vegan choices for breakfast but the chef was very accommodating and they were able to make something for me. I think the greatest part is the shuttle service the drivers are really friendly and open to talk to you. They make great suggestions on places to dine and the waiting for a pick is usually under 10mins

My family and I have stayed at this hotel twice. T...

My family and I have stayed at this hotel twice. The first visit was miserable and we decided we did not want to stay here again, but because of some logistical issues, we wound up staying here a second time and deeply regret it.

We stayed here in June, 2019 - my husband, our 2 young daughters, and me. After we had checked in and settled in our room, we left to run an errand. When we got back, we could not get in our room. The desk staff acted like I didn't know how to use the room key, which was insulting. After several key changes, the staff figured out that the entire 6th floor was locked out. For several hours they were unable to get any of us in our rooms. They asked that we stay close by while they tried to figure it out, and suggested we eat in the hotel restaurant. Eventually, they got us in our room, but couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen again, so we had to change rooms. Obviously, that's inconvenient, especially with 2 small kids.. For all this trouble, they offered a "sorry about that" in passing. There was no discount on our room, meal, or parking for hours of inconvenience.

We just stayed there again, reluctantly, in November, 2020. We're in a pandemic and the hotel was nearly empty, but they still put us in a room overlooking the hotel's a/c units. The noise from the units was so loud that we initially thought there were helicopters flying nearby. (Walter Reed is about 1 mile away.) Ironically, although we could hear other a/c units throughoutthe night, the a/c in our room did not work. This made the room uncomfortable, but it also meant that the air was not being refreshed/cleaned, which is necessary for COVID protocols. Additionally, our bathroom counter was visibly dirty when we checked in. My entire family got sick the 2nd day of our stay and 5 days after we left this hotel, I tested positive for COVID. The rest of my family will test tomorrow. Although we cannot prove it, we highly suspect the lack of circulating air and evidence of lax cleaning in our hotel room are to blame. The only place outside our home that we have been without masks has been in this hotel room.

A small inconvenience about this hotel is that the room sleeps 4, but its not really designed for 4 people because there is not enough storage and the room is very small. Even with small children, it's a tight and uncomfortable fit. I gave the hotel 2 stars because the bed is really comfortable, but that's the only redeeming quality for this place. I really don't recommend this hotel at all.

My stay has improved, read all and on. I watched as two men in suits, presumably management, returned to a display in the rewards lounge , three times in two days, they marveled over and discussed it. While that new two square ft attraction was pondered, not one dirty light globe was cleaned. The next day, two worker bees replaced an incandescent bulb in one of those globes with a micro led unit. They took a picture to submit to a designer. (There conversation was clearly understood) Now it is brighter and dirty. The lounge remained dirty, even during off peak hours. It was not a pig stye, but tables were crumby, the floor was also the same. You can not use dark finishes, and expect them to appear clean with the same standard of maintenance provided to the rest of the hotel. I believe the intent is to attract the business traveler. This may work for the lower end of clientele, but anyone seeking a high end business lounge will not be impressed. The suite I stayed in also leaves much to be desired. The AC is extremely loud, so much that tv volume levels to overcome it will disturb anyone attempting to rest in the bedroom. Speaking of AC, there is no attempt to conceal its access panel. It is blatantly an eye sore, taking up a four by eight foot square of the ceiling. The walls also appear paper thin, allowing the three bus loads of church youth group guests to echo through the room. The room appeared cavernos, mainly because the living area lacked furniture. Also, you get the privilege of looking at a balcony you can't access. The pool is still closed, as of may tenth. Other than that, and some dreary room carpet, the stay was pleasant and enjoyable. Edit:As my stay continues, the staff is rising to the occasion, the next day after this review, surely a coincidence, (may 11th) the pool opened. The "M Club" was noticeably cleaner, and I unfairly failed to mention the amazing fresh breakfast that was served clear until practically lunch. The globes are still dirty, but the staff has been more active in the M Club, so the good outweighs the bad. The service is five star, so if the price point is agreeable to you, then the value is five star as well. This of course is a solid 3 star hotel, just because its not historic, its not high class, high end finished, detailed, or polished . It's the girl next door of hotels, friendly, enjoyable, pretty, but not a supermodel and that's a good thing.

I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at this hotel. It's gone through a makeover in the past couple of years with a new restaurant called Cooper's Mill, an updated entrance and front desk, and generally updated rooms. Can have decent weekend rates and has convenient access to I-495 and Wisconsin Ave. The hotel has a positive vibe and appears to be a meeting point for some locals. On my most recent visit, my room had some vibration from elevator machinery but not something unique to this hotel. Will stay again

My favorite hotel so far at Bethesda. I like how the hotel rooms don't have carpet, because you don't have to deal with germs in the carpet and dirty carpets and if you have allergies, it's a life saver. They have room service in case you don't have time to eat at the hotel restaurant. Their bread pudding is pretty good in my opinion, better than the apple pie. There is a shuttle that goes straight to the NIH from the hotel, which is very nice, don't have to deal with taxis. So far, it's a nice restaurant.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel appears to be relatively new. It was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The restaurant/bar was great. I will definitely stay there again the next time I'm on town for business.

Wonderful and elegant, one of the finest hotels in Bethesda. Room was fresh and clean, along with new up to date appliances and television. Great restaurant on the first floor and the service is second to none

Rooms are very nice, don't like the bathroom doors though. It's those sliding doors. Should be a pocket door instead. I understand why they do it but it kind of stinks they charge 16 a day for parking for people actually starting at the hotel. Other hotels I've started at say that is usually for weekdays and people looking to park and use the shuttle. Either way I would stay again

This is a great hotel at a great price. Modern, clean, well lit. And there is a great restaurant on site. The location is very convenient to the NIH campus. I suspect some of the downtown hotels get more business because people may assume they are closer to NIH. But my experience is that this hotel is much nicer while being just as convenient to NIH. This is now my go-to hotel when visiting NIH.

Beautiful hotel with friendly service. Many comfortable places to relax and collaborate. There's a pool and insure restaurant too. The food is delicious and many healthy options are available. I had a little issue with a strain on the sheets and they quickly replaced them. If you're staying in the area, this is a nice hotel to stay at.

They charge for parking and charge for internet. Every hotel, 5-star or 3-star provide those things for free. I did not enjoy the stay and with all the extra fees, this place is very over priced.

Dear Bethesda Marriott,

Dear Bethesda Marriott,
I am an ER nurse responding to the Baltimore, MD area Covid 19 crisis. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for supporting the first responders so generously...thank you is not enough.

Only reason I m giving them the 2 stars is because the rooms went up 150 in a week now i understand that rates vary from day to day but wow. Also upon arrival as opposed to the last visit the previous week, I was now told that parking is 17$ on top of the room charge, and if you want wifi its another 12$ it is the last time I visit this nickel and dime hotel. By the way the explanation I got from the front desk is that they are trying to stay competitive with the other hotels charging for parking which makes no sense, staying competitive and having an edge means not charging your guests for parking and wifi, this will attract more people.

It is located near a highway bit relatively far from the city center so forget about walking down to the bars or restaurants. The hotel by itself is pretty good everything was clean and well maintained. The hotel restaurant was decent but nothing to scream about. As an FYI parking is not free so if you have a car prepare for shell out extra 20

Room was nice and updated, except washroom seemed like some work was still being done (one towel rack not secure, and had obvious hasty repair or installation done, as evidenced by the obvious drywall repair behind it). Really liked the added touch of a regular shower head plus a hand-held sprayer in the shower to allow for shower or bath. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool is nice (wish it stayed open later than 9 PM, though). Convenient location.

Beautiful hotel! The staff is friendly and the restaurant is superb. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet; the cleaning staff is so nice and they go out of their way to make one feel at home. The hotel has a courtesy shuttle which takes you to either downtown Bethesda for a day of shopping or to the NIH for cultural enlightenment. Although it's about 20 miles from DCA airport, it is worth the stay. I loved it and will stay there again.

Love this location. This is one of the few that maintains an open M Lounge for its Gold and Platinum members even on the weekends. The rooms are modern and very clean. Desk service is very friendly and accommodating. The bar area is open and inviting and the breakfasts are awesome. Made to order anything is great in the morning and it s free for Platinum members.

Be warned there is an extra fee for parking at this location.

While I do love Marriott Hotels and Resorts in addition to the Marriott brand, the stay that I had at this hotel was a little bit atypical. I arrived during an unseasonably warm day and to my surprise the hotel's rooms only have the option for heat or cold and as I had arrived during Winter the hotel was set for heat. As such, my room was 86 and there was nothing the staff could do to lower the temperature. On a bright note, the staff went above and beyond to try and help me out by letting me check out 3 different rooms before we found a cooler area of the hotel. Also, they let me a fan to help me keep cool and gave me a couple of extra ice buckets which I placed in front of the fan which helped keep the room a little bit cooler.

We were moved here because their North hotel was overbooked. They provided transportation and parking validation so it was no extra charge. They were accomodating when asked (for more towels and such) but there were some minor issues with the room. The biggest was that the fridge leaked and formed a puddle overnight. The shower door wasn't sealed tightly and leaked onto the floor when in use. Beds were fine but had minor stains on them (appeared to be ink) otherwise standard stay.

Comfortable beds, great lounge and amazing customer service. Thank you Marriott this building and top notch management. I'm a repeat customer at this particular location and had similar exemplary service on each visit, so I know its habit not luck. For anyone thinking of staying this hotel is using smart TVs with free on demand hbo and showtime. I always enjoy this feature. A refrigerator and Safe are also in these rooms for convenience.

I was here because of a class trip I can say it was very pleasant. We didn't stay too because our large group had to keep learning about US history, but everyone was really nice and patient while we were there. The food was very good and a large group of hungry students definitely appreciated it. Four stars for a short, but pleasant experience.

Nice place to have a casual business dinner. Good beer, not too loud, nice servers and staff, comfortable ambiance. My only complaint is that, at least the night I was there, there was a single vegan dish on the entire menu (and that was just a bowl of cooked cauliflower very tasty but surprised a hotel this close to NIH doesn't have more than that.

my stay was awesome!! I usually don't require much of the staff and that was no different but when i did interact with front desk staff they were friendly, pleasant and helpful. I tried to use the bonvoy app for check in but didn't really find it useful i guess i'm not that introverted and would rather interact with people during checkin and checkout. My room was amazing not just clean and fresh but comfortable as far as the entertainment and AC. Clean is kind of a given so i'm not giving extra credit for that as a part of my review but the rating would be lower if i felt it wasn't clean and i would have asked for a new room as well. the area was quiet transportation was very accessible i had never visited bethesda before and it was someplace i will book again if i go to the dc area staying in dc is not an option for me i have no desire to drive in the dc area.. one thing i loved the most about my room was the solid surface floors nowadays carpeting turns me off because of the germs and hidden dirt so having a solid surface floor was very nice . awesome hotel will definitely book again probably for a birthday weekend get away.

Nice hotel. Clean, with nice decor in rooms and main lobby area. Great gym and pool area. Has a free shuttle to take you to main town of Bethesda (tons of food spots in that area), great restaurant in hotel. Had a kale salad and burger. Probably one of the best burgers I had in awhile. Super friendly and helpful staff. Close to DC . Only negative... no nice views.

Great room and centrally located spot. The prices for room service was reasonable and there is a nice pool here. The restaurant located in the hotel does have a good happy hour specials. Happy hour here is from 3 to 6 ship plan well. I will be back here again.

This place was very clean and it is under new renovation. The room was very new. The color was a little dark though. The hall way and the carpet was gray. The room was very clean and the service was great. The facility have a very nice exercise gym also. Definitely recommended but it is pricey per night...

The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and a really nice gym but I came in on a business trip and they charged my business card for the stay and they charged my personal credit for the stay. It took a long time to get my money refunded. Weeks later they refunded me again: then they went into my account took money back and as of yesterday they did it again. I am so disappointed in the incompetence of the front desk staff in handling this matter.

Beds comfy, rooms clean and updated. It was quiet overnight on a Friday night with a pretty full hotel. Would stay there again. They do charge for overnight parking, even though it's located in a fairly residential area and parking doesn't seem to be an issue. Bar and restaurant area was busy but not overcrowded.

Hotel is ok. Maybe. Staff is rude. They have no idea what service is, or how to speak to a customer. That's if you can understand them. I've stayed in this chain daily for over 3 years. I will probably go to another chain.

Well-maintained, well-operated Marriott hotel right off the beltway in Bethesda. Their restaurant, Cooper s Mill, is delicious and serves their food and drinks with in-house honey made by the bees on the roof of the hotel. Rooms and public spaces are always clean. Certainly recommend!

Truly a wonderful experience. On a whim while visiting PA we decided to make a trip to Bethesda and booked the stay online the same day. At less than $100/night on a holiday weekend, our expectations weren't high. This property is beautiful but is nothing compared to the exceptional service from everyone we met.

We arrived late at night for our check-in and was warmly greeted by Lance. He was friendly, welcoming and gave us a ton of ideas for things to see and do. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view. For breakfast we had made-to-order omelettes that were deliciously made (with a smile) by the chef at the buffet. We didn't catch her name, but her passion for cooking really showed. Our server, Nduta was so genuine, kind and attentive.

I can't say enough about our visit. This was my first stay at a Marriott property but definitely won't be the last. Thank you Bethesda Marriott!

Nice updated room. Everything was clean. No carpeting on floor. Staff kept ckeaning/spraying elevators. Restaurant closed due to virus , so they had a limited menu for room service with no beverages - only water. They did have only a couple of sodas and juice you could buy in their shop.

Overall a nice hotel. I was told they renovated not that long ago. The room was nice and big. The M lounge was nice as well. The one draw back I have about this hotel is that they have a gnat problem. I had dinner in the restaurant and had to fight off the gnats from my food. Not an experience you want while eating.

Fantastic customer service! Never been more pleased with the hospitality at a hotel. Everything we needed was taken care of immediately, the staff were exceptionally attentive and engaging. While we had some really off-putting experiences while in Maryland, it felt wonderful knowing we were walking back through the hotel doors to being greeted by our names and shown a genuine experience each time.
Everything from complimentary goods and shuttle rides and accommodations for us as individuals, we are overall extremely pleased.
Thank you all! Can t express my gratitude enough.
We will be definitely staying at this hotel every time we come to Maryland.
10/10 would recommend to all friends, family, and reviewers.

This is a gorgeous facility. I attended the Grossberg Soltesz Real Estate Symposium to hear County Executive Ike Leggett speak, and stayed to walk around. The athletic facilities are impressive and look out over a beautiful pool with extension landscaping. There may be others, but I have never yet seen a hotel with such a quieres and natural location this close to the city.

We love Marriott hotels and prefer mariott.
We stayed only a night here at Bethesda.
Heads up for future visitors, there is a parking fee of $15.
We needed a microwave to warm food. There isn't a microwave neither in the room or in some common area in the hotel where we can go and use.
Wasn't a worth stay for us with little kids.

Newer hotel. Rooms were very nice. Loved the flooring, not carpeted which was great. Shower was exquisite, actually took 2 showers in one evening. Only stayed overnight so didn't have chance to eat at the restaurants. Staff was very friendly, professional and courteous. Would stay again.

Modern room, beautiful lobby. The bed was very comfortable. Fresh food downstairs at their restaurant and customer service was great. I'll definitely be back. Only real negative is the expensive parking. Luckily parking on the street is free on weekends.
