We purchased a year of services and are very disappointed with the fact that Lightspeed is unable to update our CSV files with critical updated pricing. We are told that it can take up to 3 weeks for updates to happen. We have contacted support regarding this problem and have yet to hear a response and have been completely ignored. We are now regretting committing to a year and will be exploring alternatives after services expire.

I have installed numerous POS systems in my 30+ years of experience. LightSpeed is by far the most comprehensive system, yet easiest system to implement and use.

Their support mechanism is second to none. If you look your question up in help, there will be documentation to answer your question, and chances are there is a video that walks you step by step through the solution.

If you feel like you want to get live help, there chat mechanism is one of the best, better yet, the support people on the chat are the most patient and knowledgeable support people in the business.

Simply the best.

We bought this POS to help link and track inventory between our brick/mortar store and our e-commerce store. This was the best decision by far. It wasn't the cheapest, but it is well worth the money spent. The program is very user friendly and is so easy for my staff to learn and use. New employees seem to understand how to use it in just one day. I also love that you can create purchase orders and send them direct to the vendors through the POS. It has helped me cut my ordering time in half each week. The customer service is amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this product to any retail business.

It keeps a very accurate inventory, makes entering new product a cinch and the reports it generates are plentiful and very helpful in tracking everything you could ever imagine. Great Point of sales system. Super user friendly, easy for staff to learn. you can set each user up and limit what each one has access to. Love that we can take pictures of our inventory and add them to each item, which is helpful for us because we sell donated product. Can print labels out for each item, if you have barcodes for items you just out those into the system and scan them at the register. Really nice that I can access any information for our store from home, well from anywhere. Would recommend this system to others. Great customer service as well!! Inventory management is easy and works great for us

We have used Lightspeed retail in our bicycle shop for over seven years and love it's reliability, ease of use, tracking and reporting tools. It's not the least expensive option, but it makes daily operations very smooth and increased our paperless mission. The reporting tools make it easy to track daily and annual finances, inventory trends, and assistance for tax prep. It's a great tool that is worth the cost if you're willing invest the time into making your business revolve around it.

I own a pet supply retail store and grooming salon and have been using Lightspeed since 2015. Lightspeed has consistently exceeded my expectations and become an integral part of our operations. The customer service is amazing when we have questions or need guidance on any aspect of the system. The cloud-based retail system gives me visibility of sales, inventory, and reporting anywhere that I have internet access. I love the flexibility of Lightspeed as it offers a multitude of integrations and options for expanding programs to our customers. We use their gift card and customer loyalty integrations every day. Lightspeed Analytics are an add-on to the price of the standard POS but it's worth every penny! It's like having an analyst crunching numbers for you but for a fraction of the price. 100% recommend.

At home, Messier Bicycles, labeling was done by printing self-adhesive labels handmade. The stocktaking was laborious on Acomba. This system has really simplified my retail operations and my compatability. What to say about taking inventory? A pure happiness. What took me hours to label takes me only a few minutes now. I am very happy. Since everything is not perfect, qques small printer bugs, layout and language but nothing major. It's software that did not increase my sales but made me more efficient so it was profitable!

One week to respond to an email? Is that the software industry standard? I'm shopping for a different system. Very disappointed

Lightspeed online is terrible. Onsite is great but so overpriced. i've been using lightspeed since 2010. I just had to pay thousands more for the year to buy my business enough time to find a better alternative. I would not recommend Lightspeed Online. And i'm told the Onsite version is being phased out.

I am still in the onboarding phase of using Lightspeed Retail. Their onboarding staff is helpful, organized, and sensible. I have spent a long time researching 12 different platforms before deciding with multichannel platform to move my electronics business to. There are no perfect solutions, but Lightspeed has shown a willingness to carry me along at my speed, not theirs. I was a user of Lightspeed OnSite for, I think, 12 years before this. Back then I took a chance on a little known company with questionable financing for my most critical business system. Not only did they survive and grow, but they learned and are still learning today. And they are a much more credible competitor in a dynamic business segment. I highly recommend them.

Switched to Lightspeed nearly 2 years ago and have been very happy with it. It's much easier to use than our previous POS and an being able to work remotely via the cloud has been indispensable. Support has always been great whenever I have a problem or question. And features/suggestions/problems are always being added or worked out/solved.

Our business had been searching for a POS system that was able to handle the huge inventory that we have in addition to the large number of clients that we take care of on a daily basis. We d tried a few in the past but with one thing or another they just didn t suit the purpose that we needed. Either the inventory management was lacking or the user-friendliness required to streamline our sales was.

Enter Lightspeed.

First of all the import of data from our old system to the new was almost flawless and the minor issues we did have were taken care of by a member of their excellent support staff almost as quickly as the issues presented themselves. The inventory management part of the POS is amazing. Not only is it incredibly accurate it s also super easy to navigate! I can build purchase orders and enter inventory received so much faster than I had been able to in the past. When I say that this has saved me personally hours of time I am not exaggerating! A job that used to take me hours is now done in a matter of minutes.

The system itself is so very user friendly that even the least computer literate of our team has no problem navigating the software. Add to the fact that we can use it portably while running on an iPad or other tablet and this system really has improved the way that we are able to interact with and help our clients. We have just invested in the loyalty system that Lightspeed Retail offers and so far we ve had some very exciting results.

All-in-all this system has changed the way that we look at POS systems as well as our marketing techniques. After 12 months of use we jumped right in to a 3 year subscription! I could not recommend this POS more. Well done Lightspeed Retail!

We've been using Lightspeed at The Diving Bell for over a year and we couldn't be happier. The system is easy to use, and not bulky like every other system I have used in the past. Our staff find the interface simple and quick, and as the owner I can access my reports from home. I have had very few issues, and the times I have needed to call support they were kind, courteous, and solved my problems quick so I could get back to running the bar. Can't say enough about how happy we are with the Lightspeed system.

I have been using Lightspeed Retail at my pet store, Coco & Dex, since March 2016 and I am so happy with how user friendly it is.

Technical support has been great to work with, they are patient and help with all your questions and best part, they are open 24/7!

Specifically love the Product Importing feature, made my life a lot easier. Overall very happy with Lightspeed Retail and would recommend it to any business owner looking to become more efficient in managing their retail store.

Really one of the best POS solutions for a small retailer. We made the switch after 12 years with a previous provider and were blown away by the level of depth of the system functionality, easy user intuitiveness for our staff to operate the system, and the cloud access from anywhere which allows us to stay on top of our business no matter where we are. Lightspeed also backs it all up with great customer service and support and every time we call we have our issues addressed quickly and painlessly! Would highly recommend to any retail shop looking to update and upgrade their POS!

I have looked at 3 different POS and lightspeed was the clear winner for me! The all in one cloud base was important to me and more importantly the excellent 24/7 customer service. The first person I dealt with was P. Aguib and he answered my hundreds of questions and he gave me a beautiful demo. Training with F. Desgroseilliers was the best because he was clear and he helped me design and configured my POS system so I can start working. Finally, Mike, the tireless customer care rep who I was lucky to encounter several times helped me through from setting up my hardware to teaching me how to create a product module. I think I was calling about 5 times a day in the beginning and everyone was very helpful. From my experience as a business owner for many years, most POS companies will promise good customer care and this is not true after the sale. Lightspeed kept their promise with their level of service and expertise and I am a very happy Lightspeed customer.

We switched to Lightspeed for our music retail store about 4 years ago and its been the best business decision we've ever made. We were using an outdated POS that was extremely limited and unable to work the way we needed it. Now, with Lightspeed Retail and eCom, our inventory is all synced to give us a great website, inventory is synced with Reverb and eBay, work tickets and Purchase orders have never been easier, and our customers are happier! Highly recommend to any retailer out there. Lightspeed is well worth the investment and your business will thrive from it.

garbage bunch of rip offs, quoted me a price then I switched all my products to lightspeed from moneris, then all of a sudden the price went up. now it is double so I pay 120$ when I was paying $60 from moneris. garbage company w a bunch of scammers that work for them. not to mention there is no phone support with simple problems. you have to pay extra for that to.

We are a retail and repair shop that has 1 location. We were looking at a way of integrating our online inventory to our retail, so our inventory can be managed. There are very few things we would change about this platform. Its nice that as the company develops, they listen to customers needs and make relevant changes based on that. It's almost a 1 stop shop for being able to run a successful business.

Pros:- ecom and retail link seamlessly
-open and close cashes easy for staff
-each staff has own login to track sales progress and customers
- can limit staffs access to certain tabs that are irrelevant
-painlessly easy to submit orders, and create new product
-can easily provide quotes for potential customers
-easy to do inventory checks from your cell phone, great for purchasing at trade shows or counting stock in warehouse.

Cons: -Limited integrated payments
-Limited ways to get content linked to other selling platforms
-Blog
-doesn't do penny rounding for cash sales (canada doesn't use pennies)
- creating a work order- we cannot add or remove tabs that show on work orders
-system crashes during work hours, (bugs in system) approx every 3 months, which means we have to use manual receipts and cash only.

I am very glad I went with Lightspeed for my POS and eCom systems. If you are looking for someone, who will actually help you and not charge you for every little option that seems like it should be a part of your POS or website, you should consider them.

I have been using Lightspeed since 2015 and I was the fist one to introduce lightspeed in Montreal for the dine-in restaurant. We started from 1.0 version of the lightspeed. I was very happy with their service,support and new initiative. I have used lightspeed for my three locations without checking any price. We opened the fourth location and contacted our Account Management Executive- Sophie Duchesne. She did not sales properly and messed up so many things. We had contacted well in advance and planned our opening date. She sent only hardwares well in advance and trying to charge us for the software part without even opening the branch. She was very keen to get the business not to fulfil customer needs. She went for the vacation with out sending lightspeed server along with hardware and they did not communicate to us she missed out lightspeed server when they send other hardwares. We came to know once opened the box by the installer- Jean-Louis, Lightspeed installation partner. He installed and set up everything without lightspeed. We could not operate the business even though business started because of lightspeed was missing. We had to wait two weeks to get the lightspeed and we lost two weeks business because Account Manager careless. We complaint to the our customer service manager-Ahmed Rachedi. We did not understand business impact and lost of revenue. He was keep insisting to us we will reimburse one month lightspeed license cost fee. He did not convince and satisfy customer problem and let us to cancel the lightspeed . He is talking about the contract and did not realize real time problem and cause of the problem. Being loyal customers for the last 5 years, I would like to cancel lightspeed service from all my locations(four locations so far) and discussing with lawyer to take legal action again lightspeed. New team of lightspeed don't value customers. Lightspeed will go down if they continue the service like this. Hopefully management will fix the issue and resolve the customer satisfaction issues.

Salespeople were quick to answer "yes" to all feat...

Salespeople were quick to answer "yes" to all features I asked about when selling the system to me. Once paid for, these people seem to disappear into the mist. The "training" session was handled by a rude man who answered "no" to most of my questions about functionality. Asked about a refund 3 weeks after spending almost $10k on subscriptions and equipment, to be told "You may need another training session, all sales are final".

Receipts fail to print after 2-3 min unless the iPad is restarted, iPad app is completely useless (great way to waste $3000), cannot email statements to customers, receipts lack basic look and function of an actual invoice, cannot search or see SKU numbers on inventory, cannot edit a sale (even 1 min after completing it), staff has to create manual stock to special order, customer payments cannot be applied to invoices, and a multitude of other problems a polished POS should not have.

This system is for VERY basic POS functions. Would not recommend to anyone running a serious business.

The only reason it gets 1 star is due to the fact that tech support seems to answer in a timely manner, even if they cannot usually solve any of the problems with this system.

With well over $10K invested I cannot begin to tell you what unscrupulous company Lightspeed really is. They care nothing about fixing your issues and kill off core features with every release of On-Site.

We have found this system extremely reliable, efficient, user-friendly and most importantly the support from the company itself is there when you need it. We are super happy with how it a been going with Lightspeed. The service from the start has been amazing. Super helpful whenever any questions or issues have arrised. As we are a seasonal business it takes re-learning everything every year. But Lightspeed is very clear and easy to operate and all of our servers agree. And I just had an extremely helpful onboarding session with Jeremy Weigens where he not only answered any questions I had, but also explained ways that the system could be used to better benefit my business. One of our waitresses worked elsewhere over the winter and said whatever system they were using was awful compared to Lightspeed. So we are very happy with our POS choice!

Lightspeeds customer service has been impeccable since day one. You can reach their customer service team at any time of the day, and they always follow up with a ticket to make sure the issue gets resolved. I am so happy I went with a cloud-based POS system for my retail store, and having it integrate with my online store has been a game changer. Lightspeed's inventory management is very detailed, which was an important factor when choosing a POS system because I have over 3000 skus in store. The loyalty program is very customizable and modern, and customers love that they dont have to download an app.

I very highly recommend the Lightspeed POS program. I started with the system several years ago with MerchantOS, and the transition of Lightspeed taking over was smooth and efficient, and has improved even more with time. The ease of having a cloud based POS has been very beneficial, as I can check sales, inventory, reports, etc. from any location on my phone or iPad.
I have not run into many glitches, and when I have it's usually something technical from my end. The support staff has been wonderful about walking me through every single step along the way. Whether it's a live chat or actual phone call, they will stick with you until the problem is solved. Also nice that tech support is available 24/7...as a retailer it seems most problems happen on a weekend. Nice to have a quick fix instead of waiting out the busy weekend.

We have been using Lightspeed in our small business for the past year, and it has been very easy to use and teach. We use both Lightspeed Restaurant & Retail, and especially enjoy Lightspeed Restaurant. One improvement would be if Lightspeed Restaurant & Retail would be able to be accessed through the same app. Reporting functions are exceptional, and you can get it to synch to Quickbooks. We love it!

We have been using Lightspeed Restaurant for about a year now. We have used Square and BPA in the past and there is no comparison. The flexibility of it allows for great customization and reporting opportunities - much more than the POS systems we have tried or tested. Support is great as well. We have had issues with our network not connected to Lightspeed, but they have been great helping us figure out the problems and getting everything back up and running - quickly! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a flexible and strong POS system.

I have grown up in Retail, with some of the biggest retailers in the country, so I am a fairly good guide on good and bad POS software. Without question, Lightspeed checked all of the boxes for my needs.

I purchased an existing business with a very antiquated POS and immediately started searching for a new one. After the Lightspeed demo, I knew my choice was clear.

While there are of course things I would like added, like offline POS option, for the most part, I have had very little issue with Lightspeed for Retail and eCom and would make the same decision today that I made over two years ago.

My company has been using Lightspeed Point of Sale for over two years. They are consistently cordial and professional, but unable to resolve our concerns regarding shortcomings with their POS system, particularly the issues of "split sales" and "gift certificates".

We first brought these two matters to their attention in early 2014. I cannot tell you if we are any closer to resolution, because, as their support person informed me today "I simply do not know and neither does my supervisor".

The Internal Revenue Service, the Indiana Department of Revenue and our C.P.A.'s have been very clear in their opinion of the treatment of gift certificates by Light Speed: "It is not correct".

We are researching the cost to switch to a new POS system.

Lightspeed has been great for our business, which was basically a start-up following the acquisition of a retail store that had no POS. The basic program is easy to use and provides good information regarding our sales and inventory of 17,000 sku's. The program interfaces well with QuickBooks. The basic Analytics reports are somewhat useful. Programming a custom report by a store owner is almost impossible.

Using Lightspeed as our POS has really shown how helpful a great system can be. Whether it's easily tracking stock, keeping track of what is selling, adding or removing items, allowing discounts, it's all so easy.
Thinking up new combos or sales is simple without having to deal with a headache when entering it into the system. Training new staff is easy because Lightspeed has such an intuitive interface.
All in all, I couldn't recommend it enough.

We needed a POS that would be intuitive and adaptable to a very dynamic menu, and usable by professional servers, as well as kitchen and production staff. We got it!The customer service is outstanding, and offered hands-on support with our setup.

The team has always been very helpful and fast to respond; I m also very pleasantly surprised how much development is being done with the app. This is definitely a well-supported POS that is constantly being improved. I m extremely impressed by how well it works for our unique combo based menu.

Lightspeed has helped close a lot of expensive simple human error loopholes, prompting cashiers for commonly missed items and steps. We decided to invest in the Liteserver, which was an expensive piece of hardware, but a welcome relief during internet outages. Losing WiFi during a busy brunch was disastrous with previous cloud-based POS es, but now we don t even miss a beat (or a ticket).

I wish we would have switched to Lightspeed sooner! Switching to Lightspeed has allowed us to be high tech! Keeps our online and instore inventory perfect! Online orders are brought into the main software keeping everything perfect and showing up on my daily reports! It is AWESOME! It has so many reports that we can run! I'm very happy with their tech support staff! My wife and I can access the store info from anywhere, including from our phones at any time! Way Cool!

After 4 years in business, our business expanded to a new location so we decide to go for a system that had more features to help us out. What a mistake! We got lied by the sale rep for many features and functionalities. After signing a contract of agreement, there was a total lack of support. They even tried to get us to move our opening date that had been agreed upon at the signing because they would not be ready on time. They seem to have a total lack up understanding how difficult it is to open a business

After having to argument with them, we finally opened with a system in place that was set-up by them while service was happening. Thankfully it was a soft opening because the clients were understanding about the slow service caused by the system. Their support for this was really bad.

During the month that followed, it was a constant battle with them to get items or function fixed in the place. They finally decide to send us a tech guy that was i think the only nice and honest person in this business to try to help us find workarounds to do what needed to get done.

The whole experience after signing the contract has been terrible. The product is not made for resto-pubs, and should be avoided for those business. But just based on the customer service it should be avoided all together

So from that point, we decide to move on to another POS, so we ask light speed to gave us back our money to the 2 licences out of the 3 that never been used because we had never changed our system in those locations. I think it is fair to say that if you don't provide a services to a customer, you give them money back! Especial when you are a huge multi-million dollar company who deals mostly with small and young entrepreneurs like restaurant and retail people. There answer was a flat no.

Only after my partner made reviews, did we get a call back from costumer service. After arriving to a verbal agreement, they sent us a letter from the legal department asking telling us that in order to pay us they need us to remove all negative things we have said about them on the internet. Are you serious!!! Again showing us that this company cares more about their image then the people.

WE CALL THAT FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND IF IT WILL COST ME 6000$ WELL THEN 6 THOUSAND IT IS!!

So dear customers please look else where for a POS system, this is not the kind of company that you want to do business with. Choose wisely ;-)

We've had a very awful experience with Lightspeed....

We've had a very awful experience with Lightspeed. They have the worst support I've ever encountered, the Retail interface is super restrictive, and the migration process from On Site to Retail is atrocious. We've been trying to migrate to Lightspeed Retail for MONTHS and we've had nothing but troubles. Trying to reach support often takes a full day or longer, and then it takes WEEKS for them to deliver a solution. Most of their team is rude, condescending, and generally not helpful. It wasn't until I started doing my own troubleshooting that I realized where their team was making mistakes, so I started the migration process all over again on my own. I'd suggest considering other options before choosing Lightspeed for your POS System.

The program covers all of our basic needs, I have used it for years and it offers features that other programs do not. I am pleased with the day to day functionality, but we consistently have issues with printing. Our labels look terrible and the customer service is poor when we try to fix this (often). I have had to just let go of having nice price labels on my merchandise. They don't seem to think this issue is important and therefore the issue has never been solved.

I am a first time business owner, and so happy with my choice to use Lightspeed for my business! It's easy to navigate and user-friendly. System has never had any "glitches" and always runs smoothly! I love the cloud-based system, as I can access my account from home after hours!

I really have no complaints with Lightspeed retail...

I really have no complaints with Lightspeed retail, we're launching ecom soon. Very happy.
Customer support is hands down the best I've seen.
One time payment for annual subscription is hard to swallow for a new biz like mine.
I would VERY much like to see Lightspeed adopt monthly billing as an option. Even if it cost a tad more, a monthly bill can be way easier for some biz owners.

Worst company. Sales person Kevin Victor is the worst sales representative who lied to us for payment and services offered and now don t even return the call. For every service you need to pay additional fees and it doesn t support payment providers like moneries or desjardin if you have existing account with them. It delayed all our online buisness.

We have been using this platform for 18 months, so I waited a while to do the review. This system is very powerful, and really was the only system that checked all the boxes for us. We probably demoed 10 systems after going through an initial screening of other cloud based POS systems. We have recently added the analytics plug which is really next level. I will say the reporting that was included is par for most POS systems but did leave a lot to be desired. Now with the addition of the plug its mind blowing! Set up team was great as well, very helpful. We have not taken advantage of the integrated web hosting, but only because we are so entrenched and we are not ready to take on that task.
