DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM!!! Might be a good retail system but Definitely not to par with their competitors when dealing with restaurant pos systems !!! Salesman who just say yes to whatever you ask in order to make a sale, management that doesn t take responsibility and just pass you around to the next person!! even reached out to the CEO who responded me only to pass me to,at that time, the 4th customer satisfaction manager i dealt with. Waiting for feature requests for over a year now, you basically have to setup the whole program by yourself using pretty much YouTube videos to explain everything, and back end and report system is just a joke. Imagine having every word in the dictionary but not in alphabetical order!! Do yourself the favor and don t purchase this system!!!!

I find Lightspeed Retail to have common-sense functionality. It didn't take me very long to get the navigation down. There's definitely a learning process, but it's worth getting through that stage. I use both the POS and Ecomm and like how they integrate with each other.

This company is a complete JOKE! Save your time, stress and money and do NOT do business with them.

After 3.5 months since my first conversation with Maria & Kyle, they have yet to give me a functional point of sale!

Their partner company, Hyperspace, is even more of a joke, and Brett will repeatedly make excuses for his lack of execution, and blame any number of reasons why he cannot complete the scope of work he agreed to in a timely manner.

I have answered every question, given them every piece of data requested plus some, and have yet to see any positive progress just wasting more of my time!

We are DONE and not looking back, and I suggest you check out Springboard, Vend, or any alternative to this piece of work.

We are The Kitchenette - an independent kitchen shop in an urban downtown setting. We have been using Lightspeed since opening in 2016 and could not have made it this long without it. It keeps track of EVERYTHING, is easy for all our employees to use, and communicates seamlessly with our credit card processor. Their customer service has been amazing, inventory import is quick and easy, and updates are done when most of us are sleeping. I HIGHLY recommend Lightspeed! :-)

They offer a lot of features and an App portal where you can integrate with various apps for added functionality. They also provide a great deal of data available at all time.

I own The Gun Garage LLC in Sierra Vista, AZ. I've been using Lightspeed POS for a few months now, and I have to say I'm extremely pleased. It's easy to use, VERY thorough in it's details and capabilities and the reports are extensive. My accountant loves the reports too because they are easy to understand and process the information from. I have to say though, my favorite part is the service tracking for my workorders. I sell, and also repair and lightspeed helps me track both efficiently and effectively. Oh, and having used another POS before, Lightspeed helped make the transition super easy with training and importing to help me not miss a beat as I transitioned.

Been with Lightspeed for about 14 months now. Overall, I have been extremely satisfied.

Acquisition:
The account rep I spoke with was very helpful in the "sales pitch" portion. I have almost 20 years experience in the restaurant industry and have worked with many, many POS systems. Most of my restaurants have used Legacy systems (Micros, Aloha, 2Touch, etc) and this was my first venture in to the modern, tablet based systems. The rep was able to answer all of my questions knowledgeably and efficiently, and there were a lot.

Setup:
After signing on, we were tasked with a tutorial and onboarding process which, at times, was drawn out, but VERY helpful. It was a great learning tool and incredibly useful. They offered additional resources, but given my stubborn nature I set out on my own.

The onboarding process was fairly easy. Painstaking, but simple. There were a few tasks that more difficult than necessary though. Like building the floor plan. I am very meticulous and there were not many options for the design, but I was able to figure it out with assistance from the help desk.

Day to Day:
The overall operation of the system is very easy, but not basic. Ease of use is key to me, especially when training new employees or adding/changing features. Need a new menu item on a certain screen? 30 seconds. Need to reorganize the layout? Just drag and drop. Color code menu items? Sure why not. We change our menu daily/weekly, so this was an important feature to me and my FOH manager.

The back end and reporting is excellent as well. I was able to show the owner how to access the dashboard and view sales and sales vs goals. I can see how many of (X) item I sold when I ran it as a special, or how much of a certain item I sell week to week. We use it as our time clock, and even my BOH with ZERO knowledge of the system figured it out in seconds.

Overall:
While there are pros and cons, the pros far outweigh the cons. It's easy to use, intuitive, and best of all, THEY LISTEN. It doesn't take 10,000 customers complaining to get Lightspeed to make a change. Their support is excellent. The only major complaint I have is that there aren't enough credit card processors integrated in to the system, which is crucial to me.

I m a customer for retail and online. They are very attentive. System only crashed once for 10 mins in over a year. Inventory and reports are excellent. Add ons like customer rewards are pretty neat too. They have a lot of promos. Quick to respond by email if needed. Highly recommend.

Lightspeed have a product called Chronogolf which i say buyer beware if you need to cancel a tee time that was prepaid you cannot get a refund they use old-style marketing tactics that keep your money and they try to force a rain check on you that is difficult to redeem.The customer service hides behind an email and chat system so you can never talk directly to anyone.All golf courses in Quebec allow you to cancel with reasonable notice with no penalty.Do not give them your credit card no or book anything with them you can get better deals with most golf courses directly.

7 years and still happy. Occasionally I shop around but haven't found anything that comes close to the convenience, flexibility, and customizability of Lightspeed retail. I like that i can use it on any hardware (phone/tablet/computer) apple or windows or android. this is great for holding down hardware costs. i also like my customized cash register that i can add and subtract buttons easily.

Have been using their software since one of the first releases and I can no longer recommend it to anyone. You used to be able to buy licenses outright but now they force you to buy a monthly "subscription" so that you can use their buggy software.

If you are not on the latest and greatest version (which requires a yearly "subscription" for support they cannot help you with licensing or troubleshooting just so you can run it. If you have some sort of hardware failure or data corruption - which face it happens with even the most extensive backups and safeguards in place you are screwed and have to start over from scratch.

Also if you notice most of their "5 star reviews" appear to be employees not actually reviewing their crappy software. How about you delete those reviews Lightspeed and let everyone see what a lousy company you really are.

Stefan Leacok is a business development executive with Lightspeed so of course is review is going to be biased.

Pierre-Olivier Boucher works for a SEO and social media company so of course he is going to give them a good review.

LS is the best POS I have used for multi store operation. In the last eight years I have broken Bindo, NCR and Quickbooks. None of them could accurately track inventory transfers. Sometimes they would not populate or would just add ghost products and our inventory was a disaster. I would spend hours trying to get it straight. Trying to place PO's when you cannot trust your inventory counts is unacceptable. I have used LS the last four years and have never had an issue with multi store PO's or transfers and I execute an average of 15 per week with multiple vendors. The hours saved is well worth the few extra dollars. Like and believe in LS so much I invested in their stock.

DO NOT TRUST LIGHTSPEED! I can NOT stress that enough! Buyer beware!
After shopping around for a while, I found Lightspeed and really liked the look of their system. They look like a solid POS, they manage employees and PO's, they even have a solid inventory management system. The main and only concern I had was that it would not integrate with our eCommerce platform MIVA. The Lightspeed sales rep I spoke with several times believed it connected to our e-commerce platform. To finalize the deal, the sales rep gave us till the end of the month (4 days) to sign up for a 20% discount. Since my company was already strongly considering Lightspeed, and he suggested we could work something out if there were problems, we signed a 3-year contract. One week later I received our integrations call to help us get up and running. Its at this time they tell me there is no support for our e-commerce platform. The system is completely useless to us without the connection to our eCommerce platform. Upon learning this, I try contacting my sales rep with no response for nearly a week.
Finally, I receive an email from a "Customer Success Manager" saying he wanted to talk about what had happened. The call was short, he said he will investigate the problem and see if we can break contract. The following day he called back and said it looks like the sales rep never specifically said "We integrate with Miva" so we can t break the contract without charging a fee. I felt this is acceptable as I knew there were credit card transaction fees that should be covered and such. Once asked how much, he said he would call back. The following day, I called for status check and at that time I m told We reviewed your case further and have decided to not charge a fee and not let you break the contract . Basically we are stuck with a product that we do not want and cannot use for 3 years. I asked for a copy of the phone recordings which they denied access then said none of those said they could integrate I then asked to speak with this support person s boss at which point he said, "I am the boss". Confused by this I asked if he was the owner of Lightspeed to which he replied, "No but the owner does not deal with customers".
I thoroughly believe the sales rep knew they did not integrate with our e-commerce platform. I believe they purposely pushed to close the sale with vague promises to work something out just to get us to sign the contract and lock us in. Their performance and shady business practices leave very little to be desired and most of all point to how un-ethical this company truly is. Believe what I m reporting. Do not trust this company-beware of anything they tell you and most of all if they push to close a deal quickly-odds are they are doing something shady and they will not be able to deliver what they promise.

And this is the best POS I have used in my life (I have almost 20 years of restaurant experience and can't count how many POSs I have worked with before). Lightspeed Retail has made organizing our inventory and repair jobs extremely easy! Its ability to be customized to fit the specific needs of our store is what really makes it though! The customer service through the chat or a phone call has always been at 5 Stars for us. Its quick and if the person isn't able to help(which isn't often), they always find someone who can! The thought that has been put behind this POS is that of someone who would use it on a daily basis in a retail setting. It was carefully designed in a way that is easy to use -Princess Jewelers

Lightspeed offer an excellent service with technical support. It's a gain of time for the inventory gestion and your work organisation.
When you are confortable with all the options and features, you can really improve how you work with many suppliers and offer nice services to your customers.
You have many option to use Lightspeed retail for your sales. I choose to go with a minimalist style with an Ipad and the scanner (Symbol, but I don't recommand the scanner, we have problem with it since day 1.

I love this POS. User friendly, and if you need help, tech is always there to show you how to navigate their system. It takes awhile to set up how you want it, but once you do, it is a life saver! I own a body piercing and fine jewelry studio, so the inventory and automatic reordering options win it for me. A must have for me

The interface is super easy and it keeps track of everything from payments to customer information. Reporting is a breeze, so is ordering and keeping track of special orders for customers.

We moved to Lightspeed in 2017 and haven't regretted it one bit. You have to be ready for it as a retailers as its so robust and customizable, but if your stuck with your other POS system this works great for retail. Awesome ability for 3rd party integrations and ecom use. We moved to LS because of these main things: credit card integration (tokenization), scannable receipts, 1st party ecom, deeply integrated special order module, customer marketing reports, inventory management. No POS is perfect but anytime I ask LS "does it do this" the answer is usually yes and there is a solution.

Lightspeed is the third POS system I have used in my store and the best I have ever used in 20 years! I highly recommend this system to others for its user-friendly access, 24 hour support and availability, and ability to work remotely. I love that I can log onto this system and work from home or anywhere in the world and stay in touch with my store even when not physically present. My staff are all able to use it with ease and there are tons of videos for self-training if you find any issues or need help navigating. So glad I made the switch, and wish I had years ago! Great System.

Though the learning curve is fairly intuitive, the support team made it easy for us to get our company up and running on lightspeed. The reports are an integral part of our daily operations where we track all aspects of business. This is where we export accounting data to QuickBooks, track sales and assets. Its a very useful system. Connecting inventory to purchase orders is a breeze and is efficient at merchandise management and tracking of sales. My only criticism is vendor catalogues because that onus of getting to LS for inclusion in the system is on me.

Lightspeed helped us bring our small but complex business into the modern era. We've been able to take advantage of the easy to use software as well as the e-commerce option to be able to streamline our front desk operations, maximize data analysis and reporting and now improving our online shop and customer experience. Love that we can work on our shop remotely and the software is already compatible with tablets and ready for off-site, mobile sales. The support staff is very thorough and always available. Small issues pop up here and there - mainly little things we wish the software was capable of but support staff are usually pretty good at coming up with workarounds - and Lightspeed staff claim to be adding these things to a "wishlist" of features they have engineers working on based on suggestions from customers. So that's cool.

Lightspeed has been a horror for us since the star...

Lightspeed has been a horror for us since the start. What we were presented at during the sales meeting made us very excited and happy, but the second the contract was signed, for our 3 locations everything went down hill. I had to pull teeth and send multiple messages and to get our installation done on time. And even at that they finished doing it opening day, and were debugging while we had to serve clients. And that is a whole other story.

The product itself looks good but really does not work for a restaurant. Little things like having a single client pay without closing the full table is not possible. Servers need to figure out all these ways/trick to speed up service without being slowed down by Lightspeed. Items cannot be sent to multiple locations at ones (if something come from both the kitchen and bar like a Caeser with bacon)

The reports are terrible. Items are split up in ways were the they are split if clients have payed 1/2 or 1/3 of the amount. So items like Natchos that are group type items, to no how many have been sold you need to add the full one, the 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, .... amounts. So extracting any information takes a long time. Many of the reports have numerical errors in them, and as such they cannot be trusted. Also, tyring to export hourly sales or receipts all have wrong times on them (our restaurant closes at 1am, yet it still show receipts until 5am)

It is not possible to use the inventory option in bar because they can only have units.

We had purchased the system for 3 of our establishments, and only installed it in 1 of them as a trial. Because of how bad it was, we decided to cancel our service. Even though we had not installed the other 2 locations and had used the product for 3 month in the one installed, they are forcing us to abide by our 3 year contract and pay the full amounts.

Even with having to cover that cost, which is completely unreasonable because 2 of the services were not installed, it is still much better and efficient for us to switch to another more functional service such as Cluster or Maitre-D.

I would not recommend this to anyone who has a restaurant.

Integration with mail chimp / evenbrite from my list of customers! Transport services for the online store that fits! Compatibility with an integrated online accounting system (Cloud)! and still a lot that I discover from day to day! I would not go back! I have the wind in my sails!

The inventory control and reporting sold me on the system and the technical support is superior. We do events and it is super easy to access everything & make sales on the iPad & phone.

We use the reporting features all the time and they are very helpful. The point of sale part of the system is very user friendly for our staff. We have used their chat, email and phone support options and have always had our questions or issues answered in a timely manner.

Griffin Jewelry has been using Lightspeed for 4 1/2 months. Lightspeed is an integral part of our daily operations. Our staff works more efficiently as a team due to the cloud based retail system. It is easy to track sales, review inventory, and monitor work orders. Our customers like the new system because we can see what they have purchased and we provide a picture of their jewelry that is being repaired. This cloud based system is compatible with iPad and Google Chrome. Lightspeed customer care is excellent and we have access to the online chat 24/7. The interface of reports in Lightspeed is very helpful and allows us to track sales, by day, brand, and customer. We highly recommend Lightspeed as a point of sale system.

After using Lightspeed POS system for 2 years at our restaurant we absolutely love it. Customer service is great and they are always available to fix any issues or problems that may occur. The system itself is fairly easy to navigate and change. It has a great backend with regards to scheduling, menu categories/options to create, accounting and tracking movement of items. They are available for one on one tutorials to help you understand any issue a bit better. We would highly recommend this POS to any restauranteur out there.

I run two children's toy stores and we have used Lightspeed for 7 years! It has made a tremendous difference in our ability to transfer merchandise between the two stores, compare inventory and sales levels, and order product at shows with the cloud based POS! Their tech support is AMAZING and if they can't figure something out right away they are very quick to respond when they do figure it out (I've only had to wait 24hrs max).

Pros: The user interface was my first draw to Lightspeed. Ease of use and mostly easy workflows pulled me in. We also like the numerous integrated addons available. The multi-store feature works well.

Cons: It did not believe in negative numbers but that is changing. We do not like that custom fields don't save the same way as other standard fields.

dear customers looking for reviews use anyone else. out of the 3000-4000 companies we deal with light speed is the worst customer service. horrible wait times, system doesn't work if the internet is down for any reason, multi store version does not have correct inventory upload instructions online, and customer service is after hours is virtual in another country. dear customers looking for review use anyone else

I've worked with several POS systems over more than 15 years in retail and hospitality. Lightspeed is intuitive, easy to use and powerful enough to handle everything my business needs. The system was in place when we recently purchased a new location; Lauren and the support team have worked tirelessly to ensure a seamless transition. I have yet to run into an issue I can't figure out quickly, or get an answer to instantly. So far, I am incredibly pleased with both the product and the people behind the scenes.

We have been using LightSpeed point of sale systems since 2014, and are very pleased overall. We found the program easy to use and adaptable. The dashboard provides many terrific reports for inventory/profit / sales information. The customer service & help desk have always been readily available for questions, and prompt with answers and technical support. They also offer online seminars and learning sessions for retailers. No system is perfect, but we have found LightSpeed has overall exceeded our expectations, and we are very pleased with the program and their service!

Hands down one of the most efficient, effective and user-friendly Retail POS systems we ve ever worked with! The LightSpeed team made our switchover to them and setup happen with ease. Their system is cost friendly, reliable and aesthetically pleasing. Training new staff on the system is a breeze. The reporting options are so helpful for close out financials, ordering, staff hours, etc. I can t speak highly enough about their customer service. It is unlike any support I ve ever experienced. They not only have the incredible chat feature, but their personable phone support team works with you with such patience and understanding of your issue and walks you through the solution. Then the follow through is unparalleled! I highly recommend LightSpeed to anyone for their POS needs. We have the ipad terminal set up and love it.

I have used Lightspeed in a bike shop and it has been absolutely key to success. The ability to use a POS from anywhere, on most platforms is amazing. Support is also a key, and they have been great. Super stable, in 2 years there have only been 2 times the server went down, and both were fixed in under 10 minutes.
We have 4 stores, and with a shared inventory, it has made things simpler. Lot's of small customizable menu's gives a range of flexibility.
Some con's, to make this a honest review.
1. Building a Special order, and transferring it, is clunky, and hard to train staff on. It works, but could use some streamlining.
2. It uses a shared search, for all of the different tabs. So if you are trying to search for a just a labor type, you have to select labor, every line. Still works, just clunky.
3. Lastly, if you sell an item, not in inventory, there is only a yellow warning, at the top of the screen. would be better if it had a "are you sure" and a red warning.
All of this aside, the inventory, labor management, reporting, POS, Work Order, and PO to SO tracking, makes this so much easier.

we have started using Lightspeed Restaurant not to long ago and their system is the best i've ever seen.

we have tried a few other systems before like "PC AMERICA" "REVEL" "KOOMI" nothing comes close to LIGHTSPEED it's really easy to use in the back-end as well as in the front, just took a few minutes for the workers to get to know the system and use it effectively.

The technical service is also very efficient and quick.

also the sales department were very nice, friendly and didn't try to push any EXTRAS that was not important.

Very happy with Lightspeed. I've used Retail for over two years now and added eComerce about 8 months ago. The application is continually being upgraded and customer service has improved over time as well. My account rep is geat! Excited about the new cusomer loyalty capability!

Very responsive staff, customer service A1. Called 4 times and only waited long once. Software is user friendly, although sometimes you need to find the little trick to get where you want...guess I should have paid more attention during the training session. The only thing which takes a little longer is when time comes to split items and bills for customers.

We have been using Lightspeed for several years now. Up until our renewal it was great. But within the last six months we have had more headaches than you can imagine. The credit card processing is now being done in house (Lightspeed credit card processing) and is absolutely awful! We have had so many issues and it has cost us money because of errors their system can't resolve. Reporting is awful and good luck reconciling to your accounting system! <- Accounting person wrote this

ME, ROBERT -->UPDATE: We have been working with their team. Mysteriously it just faded into no contact from them till the reply to this rating.
Cannot say we are pleased with the result. Don't know what happened but they can't fix the issue we have. Blame game now. The previous credit card processing company, CAYAN was great. NEVER had issues once we figured out how to access the account. While Lightspeed is a pretty good product, the price DID go up A LOT at renewal and the only way to keep the cost down was to allow Lightspeed to process our credit card transactions. We have had issues since then processing cards. Especially refunds that somehow at times are refunded to the customer TWICE.

Lightspeed contends it wasn't their program causing the issue. It was US on our end. Hmmmmm, 4 years and no problems at all. Suddenly after the conversion it happens at least twice? Same employees using the system. Only change is the credit card processing? And it's our fault? No, Lightspeed has (or had) a glitch somewhere in the system. If it's fixed, good! SHOULD BE AND THEY, LIIGHTSPEED, SHOULD HAVE MADE US WHOLE!

Bottom line, your first contracted time will be a breeze and you will be very happy. After you're first contract ends, things change. Sorry, I like Lightspeed, just not as happy as I once was. Sad part is, they really haven't done much to keep our business. Their reply comment was made weeks after our first rating & only then did they try to appear to care. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts. I was 100% telling folks to go Lightspeed. Not now.

We're using Lightspeed now at almost 10 of our locations. Service is always on point, our rep Andrew is always there to answer questions when needed. They even added some functionality features for us, which is almost unheard of. We use their POS at full service restaurants and cafeterias, even a few beavertails locations. Definitely recommend.

The system is user friendly, the support is terrific, and their team is constantly finding ways to make life easier for small business owners: now offering integrated credit card processing, integrated loyalty program, regular training via Facebook live, etc.
I highly recommend this company!

My business has been using Lightspeed for a little over a year now, it's made tracking inventory and placing orders very easy. Great for being able to check product availability and price if we're doing an off-site event. Processing sales is very user friendly. The only drawback is that it is a cloud based system, so if there are issues, sales can't be processed. HOWEVER, in the time we've been using Lightspeed it's only gone down twice, and it was very quickly fixed. I would highly recommend this POS to other sports/outdoor related shops.

I use lightspeed to run my warehouse and 2 retail locations. The training was great for my staff as they are able to figure out rather complex process without knowing anything technical. We don't have to guess about inventory anymore with analytics as well. Highly recommended.

We have been using Lightspeed POS for 3 years. It is a cost effective system. Easy use for team members to learn. The inventory control and reporting are fantastic. Very user friendly and the customer support is amazing. Any time we have a problem they respond quickly and get us up and running, and in the 3 years that we have used Lightspeed we have only had 2 issues.

We have been using Lightspeed for over 10 years. It has been so helpful for our service dept and retail side of our store. We are using cloud base Lightspeed, which means we have a awesome website. What makes our day the most is that the customer service is above and beyond. We can either chat or phone call for support. Worth every penny. Best part of Lightspeed is that you can customize your Retail and Service Dept platforms. Great Product. Thank you Lightspeed for being their for us.
