Best Great Wolf we've ever been to. Only bad part is that the slide all required a yellow wristband to ride and we had a few kids that were barely too short. They couldn't even ride the family slides with an adult.

Had a good time at KeyLime Cove. The rooms and facilities were clean and up to date. There were plenty of restaurants and food options available. The kids loved the game room. Only issue I had was the shortage of inner tubes.

Great water park but the stuff....
We left at 9.30 am for breakfast and returned to the room at 10.20 am. The cleaning lady was already cleaning the room , with our belongings in it. Without us doigthw check out.
I double checked the room number because on the tv stand it was a slice of pizza found by the cleaning land and we did not have any pizza in the room so I assume the cleaning is not very deep :)
We were kind of forced to leave the room ...
I spoke with the manager about this and she said they are allowed to get before 11 in the room. She was unhelpful!!! So be aware. Do not leave personal belongings in the room at anytime ...in this hotel

Man oh Man.....it is so expensive to get a room. you might as well add few hundred dollars more and go to Cancun for a week lol. over all, its a good family friendly place. Yet, it's not like there's any other indoor water park in IL that you can go to lol.

I took my kids to the waterpark for the day. We were very impressed. I remember that the waterpark had terrible reviews as Keylime Cove. Great Wolf Lodge reportedly did a lot of improvements on the waterpark after they purchased this location. It shows. I was super impressed. It's very clean, well maintained and safe. The floors were not slippery at all for my 5 and 8 yr old boys which was a big complaint as Keylime Cove. The restrooms have large changing rooms, showers, bathrooms, and vanities. They are meticulously maintained There is plenty for all age groups to do. In fact, the lay out and design is ideal if you have older and younger kids. Slides with different height requirements can all be accessed from one set of stairs. That's ideal because we can all stay together instead of having my 8 yr old off by himself on a bigger slide on the other side of the waterpark. There are also two family raft slides that both allow kids as small as 42". They are plenty exciting for the younger crowd as well as the older kids and adults. The smaller kid areas are entertaining enough that my 8 yr old happily played with his younger brother. The food bar was quick and the food was excellent, if a bit expensive... $8.99 for a kids meal but it's a lot of food and no complaints! We are local and would not have a need to stay over so I was very happy to find out that they now do day passes. They are $25 cheaper per person during the week so that is something to keep in mind for families on a tighter budget. My kids had a wonderful time and the facility really was fabulous... we would go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed 2 nights over that Thanksgiving weekend. Was at 94% capacity on Friday and still plenty of room for everyone in the water park. Wave pool and lazy river both shut down on separate occasions (probably for poop the water) and the overflow of people onto the other attractions was still managable. Clean throughout and rooms were ample size. Staff very friendly and plenty if activities for the kids. Water park attractions are great for the park size, but really needs hot tubs like in Wisconsin Dells. An adults only tub would be perfect. Biggest complaint was the temperature of food for breakfast at Campfire Kitchen - room temperature is neither adequate or safe. I notified management and they said they'd let the chef know. We didn't try any other of their eateries after that.

I was just there it is very fun and a great experience. Me and my family had a great time, it was so fun, and the indoor water park was AMAZING I loved the Double Whirlwind, Coyote Cannon, and River Canyon Run, they were so fun and great to do with my family.

A children's paradise.

A children's paradise.

First, let me begin that this place is for the kids, and it is awesome for the kids. They have the water park, with stuff for kids of all ages, crafts, shows, an arcade that is huge, and numerous other fun things. The water park is top notch. My kids loved it, loved it.

The rooms are ok. The walls are thin and everything is very noisy. We were only in the to sleep, so whatever. Everyone here was very nice and helpful, so that was great.

Overall, kids will have a blast, just be prepared to essentially fight someone for an inner tube.

This resort is awesome. We have been here twice and had a great time. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. The check in people do everything they can to make sure your stay is fun. The only flaw was the snack area at the pool. We waited almost 30 minutes for two pretzels with cheese. It was lunch time and apparently the pretzels were cold and could not be served. Instead of explaining this and suggesting something else, they made us wait. I finally asked for a refund. Other than that glitch everything was perfect.

Kids love it. Great space. Only one thing would make it 5 stars, that being, having a microwave in the room or more than one per floor. But besides that one thing, this resort ensures the kids are happy and tired every night.

I was surprised that so many things disappointed me. Water in the pool was cold (I would guess less than 80) in half the pools. I was just in a pool that was 90 degrees and I thought that was hot. Crazy lines to eat most meals, but the food was good. Freezing in our hallway and no Kleenex in our suite, not big deals but just more things. Also, everything seemed a bit overpriced even after factoring in that we were at a resort. Otherwise the food was good (except for the pancakes at the $17 buffet), pool had good stuff, beds were comfortable. Neat other things to do for kids, rock climbing, Magi quest stuff.

Too bad they're closed.
So excited for Great Wolf Lodge though!
It was too expensive for too little, but it was always clean. Super pumped.

I went up stairs to try out there Ben and Jerry's and the lady with the red hair i belive her name was Ryann was just great person giving us great customer service she made me feel like i wanted to get all of the different flavor ice creams they had to offer, I would def be going back to the resort.

We visited over our spring break. The resort was very nicely layed out and the staff was all ver friendly and helpful. We did not try the spa or kids spa. There were a handful of things that were out of order, closed, or they were just out of. Because of this, I'm giving them 4 stars. However, we still had a good time and will probably return in the summer.

Excellent customer service from everyone we encountered (we had dinner at The Crazy Toucan and breakfast at the little bakery/ice cream shop). Lazy river and wave pool were amazing on my achy, pregnant body. The pillows and matress in our room were wonderful, as well. The arcade and mini golf were both fun. The whole resort was clean and well kept. One suggestion I have would be upgrading the complimentary toiletries. A 2-in-1 conditioner isn't super helpful after a day in the pool. There wasn't any bar soap either, so we used body wash for hand soap, which was awkward, but not necessarily bad. I was impressed that the toiletries were labeled as not being tested on animals, which is something I keep in mind when deciding which products to use. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge

We arrived at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, IL around 530pm Friday night. We went to the checkout in counter and we were told we would get a text when our room is ready. We immediately went to the water park. The water park closes at 9, we stayed til closing. We checked our phones for our room- nothing! I went to the front counter and they said our room isn t quite ready yet. A women nearby had overheard me and she told me good luck, she d been there since 1pm and her room wasn t even ready! Her and her family packed up and left! I gave GWL the benefit of the doubt and we took our 4 and 6 year old around the hotel to do some other activities. Still no text about my room. I went back to the front desk at 10pm, frustrated and tired. They STILL had no answer for me on my room! I was furious at this point... my kids are tired, we are tired, we just want to sleep. The man at the counter apologized for our troubles and comped is for our stay that night. We appreciated that. HOWEVER, we still didn t have a room!

At 11pm, a manager named Raph came up to us in the main lobby where we were sitting, (thinking we might be sleeping there) and had our name and room number on a piece of paper. He told us our room was ready and to follow him. A sigh of relief!! We followed up to our room 3209, we walked in to find the place was not cleaned yet! The bathroom wasn t cleaned, no bags in the trash, not vacuumed, and no sheets, pillows, and blankets on the bed!! I was beyond furious at this point. I went with Raph to find the cleaning crew down the hall. They said they thought they did that room. I said it s not clean and the beds are not made. I asked what is going on?? One cleaning lady said that they are lacking employees and help, and because of the weather the hotel overbooked. She then told me that I was welcome to pick up a broom and do it myself!!!! I was appalled!!
I said give me the supplies... at this point I ll clean it myself! I just want somewhere clean for my kids and me to sleep. Three of them followed me to my room and they got the job done in 4 minutes.

We complimented Raph for his willingness to help us. He said we will be granted late checkout at 1pm the next day for our troubles and free Wolf passes for our kids.

I get a call the next day while we are at the water park again at 11am from a lady (she never stated her name) from the front desk. She asked me my name and said that the cleaning crew is trying to get in my room to clean it but our belongings are still in the room and we were never granted late checkout. I went on to explain what had happened the night before and that Raph had granted us late check out- she then rudely cut me off and said that it says nowhere on her paper that we had late check out. I tried getting a word in.. no such luck. I told her to stop talking while I was talking... and she hung up on me!!!
Now, I ve worked in retail and have dealt with PLENTY of customers.. one thing you don t do is hang up on them! Rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, to say the least.
I RAN to the front desk... out of breath... explained what just happened to the nice young woman at the front desk, and she so kindly granted the late checkout, free of charge, as easy as that. Turns out.. they got our room mixed up with someone else s!
We got what we wanted, but I jumped through hoops for a one night stay that was supposed to be a fun family getaway. No one wants a crabby mom. It really ruined MY stay. I m glad my kids are too young still to understand fully what was going on, and they were still able to enjoy themselves, even as tired as they were.

Overall, our stay was a more negative, stressful energy than a happy and joyful time for our family.

We wee pretty pleased with everything. The kids had a great time in the water park. Our stay was only two nights so we didn't do most of the other activities offered. The biggest complaints we had were there was no benches or place to set your things in the changing area and of course the floors are wet. I was disappointed this Great Wolf didn't have a Hot tub. We didn't get as much of the "lodge" feel as we have in the previous Great Wolf lodges in the past.

This was our 4th time at Great Wolf and it was definitely the worst experience we have had. The pull out sofa was gross and dirty so we didn't use it. There was a child that got sick on the bridge in the pool area and almost 2 hours later it still wasn't cleaned up. We spent over $100 on Magiquest but the employee wouldn't explain to our group how to play so the kids never really got into it because no one fully understood the game. I felt so ripped off. I tried several vending machines in the evening to get water. The credit card option didn't work on either machine and the one that did accept cash was out of water. It was 945 and the stores were closed. I called the front desk and they told me the pizza place was still open. I went and it was closed. It took me TWENTY MINUTES to find bottled water, even with asking several employees where to go. After paying over $200 for a room, spending ocer $300 in the arcade, over $100 on Magiquest, over $30 for the ropes course, and over $75 on food...it was a very disappointing experience. I don't know if we will be back anymore. For the amount of money we shell out there, it isn't worth it if the experience isn't a fantastic one.

I think it was ok but the microwaves that are on each floor suck, also you don't get your own. There needs to be more blankets and pillows. The water park floats were flat and need to be refilled, and water park workers need to help, I was sitting at the top of the slide waiting a while when the light was green and the workers were talking by closet slides. Other than that everything was OK!

I tried really hard not to be judgmental and pick apart this place but After 3 days of staying here, each day just got worse and worse. We started out by getting here at 3 o'clock. Hoping for early check in. They said they were busy so we wouldn't get our Room till 4. Understandable. We didn't get our room till 430 and that's only because i complained. We get to our Room and immediately notice our heater does not work. I called the front desk and they said they would send somebody up. 2 phone calls later and still no one there. I finally had to go out and grab a maintenance man myself and complain for them to come fix it. In the meantime we went to the water park. We came back and to my amazement they replaced the whole unit in the time we were gone. I was pleased with that. That's about the only good thing that happened this trip. Without the long list of complaints, let's Just concentrate on the biggest problem. None of the restaurants were open the whole time we were there. It was impossible to get food. Dunkin donuts closes after breakfast and stays closed all day. The taco place, Burger place, campfire kitchen, all closed for dinner. When I called guess services to speak with a manager the lady said they are extremely busy and wouldn't be able to get back to me anytime soon . I'm sure they were. She told me the reason all these restaurants are closed Is they are understaffed because when the schedule was made several weeks ago they were not supposed to be busy. And now they are sold out. Terrible management at this place . We went to one in Texas and Wisconsin Dells and both of those blow this 1 out of the water

Honestly, I was surprised by how great this place is.

First, you gotta go there knowing that it's essentially a mini theme park near a big city, so it's gonna be busy and it's gonna be hard to avoid spending money.

However, their staff is incredible: friendly, great with kids and nobody is trying to milk you for more cash.

The food options are pretty decent, although you'd be well advised to bring your own snack options to keep to a budget.

All in all, definitely a great place to go to escape the city, especially in the dead of winter.

AWESOME! I am a kid, but that trip was fun! I took us an hour and forty mins to go there, but the wait was worth it! Coyote Cannon was very very fast! I HAD to go at least 60 mph. Alberta Falls and Otter Run was also fun. Otter Run, both of them are dark, but the blue one is darker than the red one, and you might lose control whilst sliding, but it was fun! Fort Mackenzie is awesome! It's basically like a watery playhouse for kids and tweens, 4-12. It has two slides, one green and one purple, it was fast, and you also might lose control if you don't position yourself like how the lifeguard told you to. The wave pool was very big, the deepest part is 5"0 so I don't recommend you going to the deepest part if you're below 4'5. The waves happen every 10-20 mins, somewhere around that time frame. If you are short, you need to wear a lifejacket when the waves start, or you might topple over. The arcade was spectacular! The games were awesome! This is my review! :)

We had a very nice time! Waterpark is very nice for ALL ages & the rooms are great!! I just wish Great Wolf Lodge would add a complimentary breakfast & that would be a fantastic bonus!!! Definitely will be coming back soon!!!!

Came to stay for 4 days with my family rooms are not the cleanest. And the walls are paper thin. You here everything including kids running through halls banging on doors at midnight. Let front desk and security know. Leaving after 1 night going to go finish my stay at timber ridge much better place there.

Very nice establishment. The kids had a good time and so did I. We stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the water park, the breakfast restaurant, and the aracade. There's so much to do inside, you don't need to leave. It's clean, I dont have any complaints. Im already planning our next trip.

Affordable, family friendly indoor water park. My oldest son enjoyed the toilet ball slide that can ride up to two on tube, while my youngest enjoyed the climbers. Wife of course spent most of her time in the lazy river and hot tub.

Major upgrade since Key Lime Cove. Indoor water park is great for kids. There's nothing deep to swim for adults but the lazy river is nice. There's a Dunkin in house and a Coldstone. There's a fireplace at the entrance which is nice to enjoy during winter. There's alcoholic beverages at almost every food location and carry it with you throughout the facility. The rooms were nice and clean. Beds sizes are made up though. I rented a room with a queen size bed and 3 twin size beds.. I got a full size bed and 3 toddler beds. I complained to management and they were adamant about their bed sizes. My wife looked at the sheets and they stated full size on the tag; I left it alone. The arcade is ok, very pricey. Actually everything is pricey. They have mini bowling lanes and an obstacle course. Great place for the family, just save up.

Great rooms, great customer service... The water park hasn't changed much since it was converted from KeyLime Cove, except for the addition of a small wave pool...But at least it doesn't have bed bugs like KeyLime!

This place built an entire resort around 5 water slides and a lazy river. The food is very bland and overpriced. The way they run the park is not good. The staff is lazy and does not pay attention to anything around them. The rooms are also uncomfortable and impossible to sleep in. This is not a good resort.

Don't come here!!! Friday night and no bar open except in pool area where it's 300 degrees. Wouldn't be bad except we've been waiting for our room for 3 hours now, STILL NOT READY, WON'T TELL US WHEN IT'LL BE READY, and we can't change into pool clothes. Even if we could change there's no place to put our luggage or anybody to watch it and they won't let you take it in the pool area.
What a poor way to run a hotel.....do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE OR WEEKEND VACATION. ALSO A VERY VERY DIRTY PLACE.

Indoor water park, restaurants, arcade, mini golf, magic shows, children's crafts, recycle next to every trash can, and room keys and payments were integrated into a durable waterproof wristband. Your little ones will not be disappointed and neither will you.
