The room was extremely clean and fairly large. We even had a sliding door with a small patio overlooking the parking lot and some picnic tables. The restaurants were fairly expensive but pretty normal for "resort pricing" The water park was a bit crowded and my only complaint would be the ridiculous lack of intertubes for the lazy river and wave pool. Also, there's too many young kids running around without parenting. I saw a lifeguard jump in several times for little kids who never should have been left alone. The layout requires that you walk forever to reach the next thing and some of the water was freezing! Hot tub was nice and I'm glad the staff enforced the 18 or over policy.

We had a great time! It was really busy when we got there (1:30PM). Check-in was smooth (15 minutes). Our room wasn't ready, but we anticipated that (we brought swimsuits in a small backpack). We changed in the huge bathrooms, rented a locker to shove our stuff in, and headed to the water! Even though there were lots of people, the lines to ride the large tube rides weren't very long (10 minutes at most). They are FUN! My kids loved going around and around and around the lazy river and the big bucket that fills up with water then tips over. We stayed until around 6PM then headed up to our room (the room # was already programmed into our wrist bands - no need to stand in line and get a room key - the bands open the doors!). We quickly showered and changed and headed to dinner. We opted to leave the resort for dinner, so I can't comment on the food. After dinner, we went back to the resort. There were tons of kids running around the lobby area with wands. We didn't get our kids the wands this time... bad move on our part. Our kids tried to hide their disappointment, but we could tell they were upset they didn't have them. We'll get them next time. We tried to make it up to them with the arcade room. Fun games, but expensive (cheaper than the wands!). The hotel room was SPOTLESS! And, I'm pretty picky. We stayed in a junior suite with a queen bed in the main room and bunkbeds in a little room. The kids loved their own space. Our bed was really comfy. Nothing bad to say - except that everything costs extra. Be prepared to shell out the $!

That waterpark was great. The restraunt was really good as well. Kids activities were pricey but that's to be expected. We stayed in a bigger room and it was way below par. Towel hooks had fallen off of the wall never repaired and sitting on the shelf. No bathroom exhaust so it got and remained foggy. We told housekeeping the first day we would be out of our room in like 20 minutes. They never came back. Broken half eaten oreo cookies under the mattresses. The main light fixtures support had frayed and it was hanging by the two wires. We went to the lobby and asked about the housekeeping, (and the old cookies) we came back to our room after dinner housekeeping had come but, the old half eaten oreos still remained under the mattress... other issues as well( elevator not working for a day, door entry bracket randomly stopped working, water running down the hall walls)... go to the waterpark stay somewhere else

The resort is colorful and clean and there is a lot to do if you have younger kids (under 13). Don't expect to actually swim as everything is shallow your allowed to play without a tube. There are a lot of lifeguards and they're extremely busy managing lots of kids and also looking for people who need help. There is a great texting program that sends you coupons during your stay to the many stores. There's a free shuttle to Six Flags and Gurnee Mills. Fun for families!

The Great Wolf in Chicago has a Hungry as a wolf food place that was an embarrassment to itself. We tried the place 3 times and every time the 1-2 people staffed made us wait close to 10 min before even acknowledging us while they made pizzas and stocked cheese. They were unprofessional and acted like it was a burden to take our order. The pizza was especially not good considering the expensive prices. Disappointing.

This place does have bed bugs. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Would give it zero stars if I could.

I stayed with my wife/kids in room 1015 Nov 6-8. I was bit on my right arm on the second night multiple times. Anyone who has ever been bitten by bed bugs will know that the bites itch and hurt for several days relentlessly.

Save yourself the worry of being bitten, having your kids be bitten or bringing an infestation home with you--do not stay at this resort!

Like all hotels food is pricey. My family had a good time. The only complaint was that some of the pop machine was out of order or didnt have all the flavors in the machine. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Kids had fun. The towel stand is chaotic at the end of the night when everyone is trying to return towels and scan their wrist band at the same time. I noticed none of the workers in the water park seemed happy. They don't smile and generally don't seem like they want to be there.

Took the kids here for bday weekend, just us!! The front desk checked me in fine. School was the next day. Perfect location to spend the night and hang out before school the next day. Close to all attraction. Plenty food near by, the resort has tons to do but atleast you know there is an outside. Plenty of parking. Long hallways to run down lol..cant wait to go back..Thank you great Wolf!!! we enjoyed ourselves!!!!

Rooms are very comfortable, but they are missing microwaves, which should be a normal amenity to provide. The pool and water park areas are much expanded from Key Lime Cove. Very easy to access, clean and well run. The prices at the restaurants are a little high, but that's to be expected; however, the prices for kids are much higher than expected, which is a slight negative. There are multiple other amenities to the facility, which are wonderful. We will absolutely return.

We stayed at the Gurnee location. Overall our experience was good. Our room was ready early. That was a huge Plus. There was a mini fridge in the room, no microwave. Loved that there was a Dunkin Donuts in the hotel for coffee in the morning. what I couldn't find when I was booking the hotel or Roaming through reviews was the average price of restaurants in the hotel. Timber tacos has reasonable prices. 3 tacos for $8, huge quesadilla with meat $8, chips and guacamole for $6. Hungry as a wolf has pizza by the slice or a whole pizza. A slice of pizza was $3 and a whole pizza was around $15. 2 Liter of soda were $5, 20 oz cup of soda $3. they also offered pasta, wings and salad. Campfire Grill prices for kids are $10 and $17 and up for adults. We did not go to buckets, you had to access it through the water park, so it is great if you wanted to eat right by the pool and go back and swim. They offer burgers and hotdogs. Unsure of the prices since we didn't go there. The Indoor water park had so much for my 9 year old to do .However, the outside pool was surprisingly small. Luckily there was so much to do inside. overall it was a great experience. My family had a blast, yes, it's a little pricey, but if you consider the cost of big amusement parks plus the cost of a hotel it's not that crazy. I would recommend going during the week when it's cheaper and less crowded. Be prepared for a hike if you are in Tower one. Parking is Far ,Far Away. I base this off of having a one year old and having to carry him everywhere. So the stroller was definitely necessary. They also offer bowling, mini golf, Rockwall, rope course, and then arcade all at an additional cost.

Erica from house services was the best employee we encountered! She was quick with towels, and provided services with such grace... just a lovely employee. The rooms were clean. The hotel is clean. The life guards are attentive and nice. The manager helped us find a room that was affordable (and with a smile!) Great place to take your family.

People complaining about the price, when it includes an indoor water park and much more. If you can't afford to go, don't go. Prices are comparable with Great Wolf Lodge by KC and others.

Oh the weather outside is frightful but inside here its humid and balmy. We're you expecting me to sing a Christmas song? Ha! The actual interior is always a balmy 84 in the winter. In the summer I have no idea.

It must be winter and time to visit an indoor water park. Now is it the biggest indoor water park? I'm not sure but it is full of fun.

There's a lazy river where you can float your worries away. Plus there are water slides. The best thing about water parks are the stairs. It is a great workout. It is funny to see all of the out of shape kids and parents who are huffing half way up the stairs. I always find it funny how they try to get some sympathy from me. I've probably heard every excuse in the book. Actually it would help us all to do a little more walking and climbing. I guess I'm here to have fun and not listen to the whining about the stairs. Just Do It!!!

The hotel is kind of a mini resort. There's a restaurant, pizza parlor, hot dog stand, desert place and a snack bar. The food is over priced and doesn't look very good. There are so many restaurants in and around Gurnee, so I typically will do carry out from one of those places. We'll have a picnic in the room.

The rooms are basic and nothing special. I'm not even sure if they have suites. We have always gotten a typical room with two double beds. The style of the room is very Hampton Inn meets Disney All-Star Resort.

There is also an art room that has activities for the kids. They can draw, watch a movie, play bingo or make a craft. Just check the schedule for what the staff is doing. Don't talk to the staff cause the girls in the day are a little catty.

This location will also do theme nights based on the season. Once we stayed for the Mardi Gras package and there was a fun staff parade in which the staff members decorated there own floats. Hotel guests got to vote on there favorite ones. There was also a band rocking. It was a lot of fun without going to New Orleans plus it was kid friendly.

You can Check-in at 1pm to use the water park but you can not get into your room until 4pm unless its clean already. There's also a giant list of upgrades like $50 for a jacuzzi in your room.

So as the snow falls and you are looking for a warm indoor family place, then I recommend you stop in here. It's the closest place you're going to find to a summer vacation. So throw your trunks on, ditch the sun screen and Hang 10 in a tube because its time to be a kid again.

The rooms were great! Nice and clean and a good size too! As a family of 5 space wasn't an issue and we liked that the sink and mirror was separate from the toilet and shower so if someone needs to go do their business then someone else can wash their face and brush their teeth! The place was a cute and had very friendly staff and atmosphere. I would definitely visit again.

Not as happy with this place compared to Key Lime Cove. I was told my room would be ready at 4p and that I would get a text not ready till after 5p. No coupon drink offered for the 1st drink. Although the staff are super friendly and water park is bigger not sure it worth the cost which is doubled from previous owner.

We usually go to Great Wolf Lodge in Cincinnati but decided to try Chicago after we found an amazing groupon deal. I was hesitant based on some of the reviews but decided to take a chance. It was totally worth the risk! The hotel is clean, the water park is a blast and the employees were over the top friendly! We purchased a wolf pass and took breaks from swimming to climb the rock wall, do the ropes course, bowl and play games. I was worried about them not having a hot tub but didn't miss it at all. We will definitely be back!

We had a family suite and it was sparkly clean, nice decorated and modern. We liked the room key integrated into the wristband, so you don't have to carry it, and a personal assistant communication via text massage. Besides just a rooms to sleep in, this hotel has so much to do, especially for younger kids. However our 15 and 17 years old boys like the rope course and the climbing wall as much as a water slides. And don't forget, the Six Flags is 0.5 mile away!

A great place to relax and enjoy yourself with the family. You will not be bored staying here. Huge water park, bowling, rock climbing, and arcade room to name a few. Plenty of places to eat.

Great Wolf Lodge responded asking me to send them a confirmation number.Although I was not asking for anything I sent them the confirmation number. Here is the great follow-up I received:

Solidifies my review about their customer service
Broken, unusable items throughout premium suite (with the same premium pricetag). Took until the next day and a second phone call to get someone in the room to actually address issues; nothing fixed, told it was broken, no compensation. No apology, nothing. Consistently indifferent or slightly annoyed guest services representatives. Upon checkout I was asking for an itemized bill or if there was anything I needed to sign to see what I was charged on my card; the guest services representative would not look up from her computer at me. I was told everything was fine and done and that I would not have a problem using my remaining food credits for the day. Every time I used it, there was an issue. With a huge delay from having to call the front desk. I dug around online to find my charges and saw an additional $175, I believe. I called, it was verified that I should not have been charged this additional fee, she said I'd be refunded, no apology, nothing. Bear in mind you have to wait in line and check towels out and check them back in otherwise there is a fee. We actually had someone walk off with a towel (could've been accidental) when we were on waterslides. Had to pay for that. There were several other petty things that made me definitively say "this is the first and last time here". It gets more than 1 star for me because my kids liked 1 of their waterslides. Side note, all food services workers were consistently swamped but, hands down, the only good and consistently polite customer service Great Wolf Lodge had.

Just not impressed. My 3.5 yr old nephew slipped on the unsafe surface in the water area. 4 stitches on the chin. There are no caution signs, nothing to prevent incidents like this from happening. Safety is clearly not a priority here. After reporting this incident, we were told the supervisor is not available and will contact us tomorrow. Waited over an hour at the bar for average at best, small portioned, overpriced dinner, that was not cooked per request. The halls smelled like smoke, there was garbage on the floors & next to the wastebaskets everywhere. I understand it s Christmas & everyone s busy, but as a consumer, that s why we chose to come here, to relax & enjoy, neither of these were achieved. 2 stars only because of the availability to do several things. The impression I got was we won t do anything good, but we ll offer a ton of things At these prices, we should both expect & receive more. It would take a lot to bring my family back here

Awesome place for young children! My kids loved it! It had places to eat without leaving the resort and when we wanted to change it up, it's located right across the e-way from Gurnee Mills Mall.

Nickled and dimed for pop, at the price we pay as guests, they don t allow you to get a refill. My son has allergies to dust mites and called ahead of time and spoke with house keeping supervisor Peter and he was supposed to make sure he did a deep clean this apparently didn t happen bc my son still had issues. Most likely I will not be recommending this facility to others!

Went to the key lime cove in gurnee and the hotel rooms were very nice. Stayed 1 night and had a lot of fun although it was mostly kid oriented, so wouldn't recommend this place to anyone except families with kids younger than 14.

Great location, fun for all ages, alot of non- water park activities to do. Clean place, has been open for almost a year. They have many food areas. Only one sit down restaurant style place. The rest of the eating facilities are food court areas and buffet style restaurant where you serve yourself.

The Only reason I am giving them 4 Stars is on my two personal reasons. First is I was very cold inside the water park area. The water wasn't that warm, and when you leave the water to walk to any other part of the park it was very cold. Waiting in line for water slides was not enjoyable. Not because of the waiting in line part, but being wet and cold. Secondly.... Our last day was a Monday. Everything opens up later on Mondays. The only breakfast place to get food unless you left the grounds was an on-site Dunkin Donuts. They open at 7, we were there about 10 minutes early. We were at the third people in line. And waiting 27 minutes to get our order taken and receive our food. The line went around the hall and down some stairs... good thing there's is a one cup coffee maker in the room.

Water park was ok. The floor in the water park was filthy. Staff would not allow kids to wear swim shoes in pool or water slides. Never saw any mascots also.

The room (Wolf Den suite) was sub par, and very overrated for the price. Our room was never cleaned during our two night stay. The toilet broke and nearly over flowed. Called front desk and house keeping, but they were not concerned as we had to wait over an hour for someone to come and fix. The front desk and house keeping RARELY answered the phone after 5pm, and I had to walk to the front desk to request whatever was needed. Since this place is huge, the walk to the front desk takes about 10 minutes each way. Ran out of toilet tissue, towels, coffee, and all other items replinished when your room gets cleaned. Carpet was filthy and stained. Parking is very limited. Once you get a park, you better keep it, or else risk having to walk a great distance.

The den for the kids had a bunk bed which was very small. My 10 year old could barely fit in the bed. Kids did have their own smart tv, although the remote had no batteries.

On a positive note, there are plenty of activities for the kids - crafts, dance party, story time, yoga, and more. The water slides were great, and there are enough for all age groups, toddlers and up. We purchased Paw passes in addition to the room which was awesome. Allowed kids to get a Build a bear, candy, ice cream, arcade games, and a t-shirt. Just seeing the joy on their faces made the trip worth while.

I will NEVER come here again. Very disappointed. Very overrated.

The facilities are poorly maintained. The magiquest had multiple broken devices. The food options are very limited. The water park is severely understaffed with lifeguards. There were customers that had to step in and effectively work to monitor the slides to ensure that kids weren't smashing into each other at the bottom. We observed numerous safety issues. The layout of the water park is very poor and causes bottlenecks of people flow at the entrance and in other key walkway areas. We have visited 3 different Great Wolf Lodged over the past year and half. The Chicago/Gurnee one is by far the worst one. Which is unfortunate since it is one of the newer locations. In general there is a serious lack of attention to detail in the design, construction, and maintenance of the facility. There is very clearly a lack of high level leadership in this organization. The one positive aspect was that most of the staff seemed very nice.

Extremely over priced. We checked into a suite that was just one large room and then told all the rooms are suites. We were asked to leave a $100 deposit that would be returned to our bank account on the day of check out. Nearly a month later the fund are not returned. When I called to speak to ask about our money. The women I spoke with never let me get a word in and over talked me every single time I try to ask her what was going on and then told me it was my banks fault and I need to go ask them about it. Just another example of our big business can take advantage of parents trying to do something fun for their children. Thank you for a terrible stay

Very nice hotel. Definitely geared towards the children. Was there for Grandsons birthday, both grandsons had an awesome time there. Wish they would have had a hot tub for us old farts to enjoy

The waterpark itself is nice as well as the amenities, but when it comes to the rooms and lodging the resort has a long way to go. We ended up leaving and not staying the night. Our room was dirty and smelled bad. There is a thermostat on the wall but purely for show as it did not work. There was a wall unit that smelled moldy, musky and dirty and hardly broke the humidity level in the room.. We were willing to make do with it for the sake of the kids,
especially since we spent 100s of dollars on the arcade and paw passes that they didn't even get to use yet because that was the plan for the morning.... until I discovered toenails on the side of the bed and hair all over the bathroom. I was beyond fed up at that point that we packed our stuff and left. We easily spent over $600 between the room, dinner, arcade, and souvenirs and management would barely even work with me on recovering the cost of the paw passes that the kids didn't even use, which was the nail in the coffin for me. They explained that since it was past 9pm (check in is 4pm) we had used enough of the amenities to justify what they were willing to refund me. Which, I'm sorry, but 3 hours of pool time, an overpriced restaurant for dinner and some arcade time is the reason we were not in our hotel room noticing toenails on the floor and poor quality of the air conditioning. We have stayed here before with no issues, but this will definitely be the last.

Great time with the kids. Lots of room in the park. Might have been a little short staffed one day, but overall, they kept the slides moving well. Only entrance at main lobby so long walks to from parking lots. Men, be prepared to drop off / pick up your families. Nice Room. Lots of great things to do. And we happened to be there when Ben & Jerry's had their free ice cream cone day!

It is fun being here, but the wait. See they told us to be here at 4 to check in, but then they said it will be a hour wait because the rooms are not ready. Will a hour and a half went by, my wife and I went back to front desk. We were nice about, so they upgraded our rooms for the long wait. So that's why I put a 3 star...
