Worst experience ever.

Worst experience ever.

Terrible management.

We ve been waiting for our rooms since 11 am and it is now 6:24 pm.

Management has done nothing but give empty promises. They still don t know when rooms will be ready.

Same issue effecting 10-12 other families trying to check in.

The family and I went for a weekend getaway. This place was awesome all around. Vallet, customer service, the rooms, everything was great. I would definitely recommend this place and will absolutely come back. Thanks Great Wolf Lodge!

Excellent staff and accommodations. Loved the personal assistant by text message and that almost everything was controlled and paid for by water proof bracelet, including door key! We had a great time and will definitely go back! A couple of minor complaints though. We wish there were locks on the bathroom doors in the rooms, especially with kids along. Also, the Barn wood restaurant has a very limited menu and almost no flexibility in choosing sides, plus were out of one of the 6 main entrees they offer. Other than that an excellent stay!

It's great. A lot smaller compare to the one in Virginia and Wisconsin. But Great for kids. UPDATE: Front desk staff slow and completely unprepared. We have been waiting in line to check in for over two hours. We checked online to speed up the process but it was pointless.

Fantastic place for family entertainment and stays, awesome water park with waterslides, lazy river, restaurant attached to water park. Rooms are updated and cozy. We had a birthday party for a five year old, lots to do for all ages. MagiQuest is super fun and gives a great incentive to walk around! Friendly staff always willing to help :)

So, I took my family here to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and we met up with a couple of friends. We requested to have our rooms next to each other, and while they promised to accommodate this request, we ended up being three floors away from them and on the completely opposite end of the resort. Other than that, everything was awesome! My daughter loved it, and so did the kids from the other families we went there with. The ages of the children in our group ranged from 1-9, and they were all very satisfied with their experience there. The game room was a hit for not only the kids, but also the dads, and the hotel had free crafts and activities for those celebrating their birthdays. They took pictures with the crafts the kids had done and gave them to us for free. What a great souvenir! The pools were very warm, and there is a little something for all the kids, even though there was such a wide range of ages within our group. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were great for the party we had for the birthday girls. We had a great time at Key Lime Cove and all of us left exhausted from all of the fun we had.

The staff was good. The events were fun. The pool was alright but the staff was very attentive to the children and that was a huge plus and the reason I am giving at least 3 stars.

However, they switched our rooms per my request confirming that the new room still had two queens and a sleeping loft, but it did not. It had one queen and it forced someone to have to sleep on an air mattress each night. They do not have cots even.

The bathroom door lock was broke and three times we complained and were told someone would come fix it and no one ever did. When you are paying this much to try and entertain others with you, broken bathroom door locks making things awkward and having to sleep on an air mattress due to their lack of honest room description is not ok.

Also, our room windows showed out to the area where the staff apparently goes out from the pool on breaks. The kids opened the window to young adults chain smoking all day long on their breaks. There were two mismatched chairs set there and workers sitting on the ground or in chairs. In an area that people pay extra so their kids can enjoy, you need to better hide where you allow your employees to smoke on a VERY regular basis. I get they need a break, but not the best place to allow them to congregate where a paying family has to look at them as the only scenery out of their newly assigned room with too few beds and a broken lock.

Customer service is wonderful. They move with urgency. The rooms look clean and nice. You would never know that Keylime cove was there originally. Great Wolf is so much better. I enjoyed my time there and will definitely be back.

We go here for halloween. My children had been looking forward to story time and the dance party for over a year. When we arrived I asked two workers about if there was needed to register for those activities (mind you I checked in right at 4 because we did not want to miss the opportunity to register if needed) and both people told us no we did not need to register. About two hours before the activities I texted their willow line to let it know we would be down and the rep said we couldn't because I needed to register earlier in the evening. Broke my daughter's heart who had been talking about it all year and was sooo excited. My husband walked down passed their dance party and there was only 5-6 kids down there.

Lockers were over priced, not enough tubes to enjoy aspects of the park, kids running even though signs everywhere said no running, food over priced, no real swimming areas for adults, and there was not much for adults without kids to do but sit in the hot tub.

If you like smaller rooms (no fireplace, super small balcony, no microwave for same room booked at The Dells), smaller water park and dark parking lots with so so customer service, this is the place for you. Also it's extremely overpriced.

Rooms were a decent size, had two queen beds plus a pull out couch. Water park is a decent enough size, not huge but not the smallest indoor park we've seen. Made the overnight visit on a Monday in mid March before Six Flags was open, and thankfully the Hotel wasn't very crowded. Would visit again.

My niece and nephew were so excited to come here but we ended up having a less than mediocre experience. To start when we got into our room we found that the phone didn t work, we had no wash cloths, not near enough towels for 5 people, there s only one trash can which is in the bathroom; which may not seem like a big deal but we have a handicapped child with us who acquires more trash than most - meds, incontinent supplies, supplement milk cans and you name is! When asked about the trash can they stated there s usually only one in the room... never had that in any hotel before. As stated before we have a handicapped non walking child with us and the chair to lower him into the pool was not working due to them losing the battery. He weighs about 110 pounds so it s not too easy to lift him in and out. I will say they did help us get him in and out of the pool one time. So luckily there were some incredibly nice other guests staying at the hotel who ran to help us! When we asked for more towels it took about three times before the housekeeper could bring us the right things we asked for. Also, we did the character breakfast so we paid when making reservations but anyone could come and just pay for the buffet and get pictures with the characters and it took quite awhile for the characters to come out so we didn t get to see them all. So overall I m going to give this a two star review, the waterpark for children who are not physically challenged is fantastic, the restaurants weren t too had besides the prices and the stale and hard pizza they had sitting out, the dance party was a hit with the kids, neat decor and they have very cool personal den room for the kids which was a total hit. Still a two star rating though for the lack of customer service and handicap accessibility which we expected to get especially by booking a handicapped room.

This was our first visit to one of these indoor waterparks. It was better than I had expected, but pricey. Food and drink were probably about 1.5-2x as much as you'd find on the street. Pools and water features seemed well done, safe, and had a bunch of lifeguards everywhere.

Wasn't super exciting for our toddler, but there is even a toddler play area.

Rooms were nice but nothing special.

Overall, a nice occasional splurge.

I LOVE GREAT WOLF LODGE!!!! I liked that they added the magi quest it was so fun to run around with my brother and complete all of the quests. The water park was awesome and loads of fun. Definitely a place I would want to go again.

Nice place but too Damn Expensive! I would give a 5 star if they were 30% cheaper. $18.00 per adult for breakfast buffet.
$210.00 Room with fees and taxes for one night
The arcade game credits are too high. One game was 10 credits! Prizes are not even that great.

People you are better off going to the Dells. You'll save more money

My family had a great time. On Nov 3rd we stayed in room 1135 and woke up with several bites on my back and side. I asked for Great Wolf lodge to treat as bed bugs but they stated after their investigation there are no signs of bed bugs. The bites on my body tells me differently.

Rating encompasses as follows:

Customer Service
From Kyshirra at the front desk to Victoria and Greg for housekeeping and Elmar in the kitchen, we were pleased in every aspect in how they bent over backwards to ensure we felt as if we were #1 customers!

Facilities
Clean and maintained. Nothing was amiss, the carpets looked and felt clean, the beds were in really good shape. The children loved the Den Room!
The Water Park was fun! I'm more of a fire and dry kind of guy, but the water element was very exciting for the younglings and even for a kid at heart!

Experience
There was not an issue I had. The restaurants served surprisingly good food (especially for its price in a hotel) and the general shops were reasonable priced! The other extra events are fantastic!

Surely, a great mini vacation!

A masterclass education in dark user experience patterns.

Let me start off first, by saying that the staff we encountered and interacted with at the lodge were fantastic. The folks working there seem to actually care about what they're doing, and it shows. Friendly faces, and eager to solve any issues we ran into.

For those of you who don't want to read the complete breakdown, I'll give you these tidbits:
1) Unless you're getting pizza, go offsite of the resort to save yourself tons of money (the pizza is tasty)
2) The lighting in the rooms will give you one of two experiences: too dark, or retina-burning bright
3) If you get a soft drink of any kind, be warned there are RFID tags on the bottoms of the cups, so there is literally no way to get refills
4) The on-site food is just okay, but the prices are premium
5) Be ready to be nickel-and-dimed for any of the on-site experiences while you're there
6) Pass on the putt-putt

I quickly learned that a LOT of what the company does, relies on dark patterns; not-so-obvious slight adjustments to your experience that, over time, add up. For example, there are NO notices or signs that the MagiQuest game for kids doesn't require a custom "hilt" - (there's one included with any wand that allows it to work) - so when you walk in, the first thing you (and your kids) will see are the "upsell" wands and hilts. Word to the parents - go in ALONE, ask questions, figure out what is required, and choose for yourself if you're going to buy into any of the additional charges before bringing your kids to the "store".

The up-sells were what pretty well ruined my experience. At one point, one staff member at the arcade LITERALLY reminded the other to push up-sells while we were waiting to get cards included with our "wolf pass".

The double full size beds and couch rooms were very spacious. It was a little noisy duri,g the day, but the night was pretty quite for the little ones to sleep. The water park was Amazing. A little crowded, but very clean and entertaining. We had mixed experiences with the staff. All of the staff in the arcade were great. Even helping me get a better deal for my money. The food staff were not as helpful and we often felt we were forgotten, even when there were only 4 other tables and 3 servers and a bartender, that I saw. Not to mention the high prices of food. $11 for 2 small icees and a small fountain soda. Very easy to get to, right off of the interstate. Great shopping, Wal-Mart, and tourist areas very close. Would definitely come again, we would just eat elsewhere.

Spent the night there with my family. The kids ages 1-8 all had something to do. The service and room was great and we enjoyed the convenience of all the food and drinks around the resort.

If I could I wouldn t give this vacation stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, Illinois any stars!!! I am here now and the parking staff was extremely rude. To top that off, I was giving keys to disgusting room filled with trash and dirty towels and a filthy bed. I want my money back, never again!!!

Overpriced for the quality. The indoor waterpark floors are filthy. Dont waste your money on the arcade, again overpriced. Lockers in the park were $10 for a small one....Food for breakfast was gross. Rooms were not clean. Also the park closes at 9pm which gives no time for adults to enjoy...Gurnee greatwolf lodge is the worst of them all.

I book a reservation online and there stupid ass system took the payment out of my account Twice. After calling them to explain what happened they were like, ok we will refunded you your money back. There was no sorry or anything. What type of business would take the money out twice and just say we will put It back. Hello I should of at least got a discount or something on my room for the inconvenience. The whole point of the trip was to take my daughter(an A student) on a small getaway, especially since I am a newly divorce mom and my budget is tight. So I cancelled the whole trip and they still walked away with 35.00. No sympathy at all.

Much bigger and nicer than Key Lime Cove, also more expensive. We got a large suite and while it was very nice, just one closet in only the bedroom? The aggressive price structure baffles me. A beer is $8. The food is ok but also very expensive. I dont get it, walmart is down the street. We bought beer and some food to keep in the room and while we know your going to spend money, it just seems smart to save some.

The water park was great, the kids loved it and the keyless wristband makes getting around much easier when you dont have to worry about your wallet or room key. Staff was very friendly and you can text the staff and they reply almost immediately.

The place was amazing and provided clean fun for the entire family. The only negatives were the food stations close 1 hour too soon. The worst part is they don't have enough donuts in the waterpark to accommodate the guest. People where holding the donut their entire stays in the waterpark when they got one and you couldn't enjoy using all the slides they offered without the donut :(....

I've now been to 3 different GWLs. This is the largest of the bunch, and definitely the most modern feeling. It has wonderful amenities (restaurants, shops, etc) and the water park here is on the large side. This location is also a stones throw from Great America... So there's that.
Only detractions: it does feel slightly less rustic and "lodge"y than the other GWL I've been to. Also the MagicQuest is a tiny bit less integrated into the layout of the hotel than the other locations.
Fairly minor complaints.

Honestly surprised how much we like it. The hotel and water park was spotless. No bandaids in the pool! The kids had so much fun and there was alot to do to keep them busy. We went during the week and it wasn't crowded

I think it's small and the water park is kinda lame more meant for kids, there's really nothing for the adults there's a small bar in the restaurant but that's it. I would rather pay the extra $$$ to stay at Wisconsin Dells

The kids had a lot of fun! Wish they had bigger coffee pots in the rooms so the adults could keep up with the kids :) I think it must be hard to regulate the temps-we were there in February so it was pretty cold outside. However, the common areas of the hotel were really warm, the halls to the rooms were cold, and the waterpark area was on the cool side especially for being wet. They had issues with the towel check out/in when we were there so there were long lines just to get or return the waterpark towels. In one of the women's restrooms in the waterpark, the floors were not very pleasing. I understand it is going to be wet but there were several areas were the water was puddled (slippery) and lots of hair etc all over. I would have thought they would have someone in there at all times to ensure cleanliness and safety. I will end on a good note...the rooms were very comfortable with lots of room!

The Waterpark was great. Kids loved it. They cater to all ages, fun for all. Wish they had a jacuzzi. Wave pool was the best. Disappointed in the rooms, they are just about as average as a hotel room except there is no microwave in them. For the price paid per night I would expect better. Food prices inside are expensive inside as one would expect but there are restaurants nearby.
