I stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge for 3 days. The place was very clean, staff was very friendly, yet they need more customer service training. It was a bittersweet experience, because alot of the information on their website does not match what is actually allowed. For example water socks are permitted in the water park, except the slides due to safety reasons. They can get caught in the slide. The lifeguard told someone in my party to "take off the watersocks ,"while they were on the slide ready to slide down. I spoke to someone in the corporate office before I went to stay there ,they never mentioned this rule.
Many of the children's activities are not included with your stay for example they had storytime in the evening for the children, the supervisor told me it was complimentary. Yet when they gave me a plate of s'mores; I was told that will be $1.99 a plate! I said I was told it was complimentary, the person in charge of the activity asked the manager on duty. They said it was not. So I left unsatisfied with no smores. I did speak with the supervisor later on, and she apologized for the wrong information and gave us a complimentary breakfast coupon. The food and video games are expensive. The food is mediocre.

The waterpark was amazing! We got there during the week. Beware when the weekend comes the place is so packed, not relaxing at all. The kids in our party enjoyed the character breakfast, Magicquest, a saverger hunt all throughout the resort, the lazy river, you can also buy an additional Paw pass for the kids to enjoy perks like a scoop of ice cream, wall climbing,12oz of candy at the candy shop, bowling, and much more. I haven't decided if I will return, only because the children loved it!

3 star. Ok resort, but I will Not be coming back. Staff is very Welcoming I can say that.
I did not get my room till 6 pm. My mistake was to check in at 12pm. They had massive amount of guests waiting to be check in and waiting on rooms. For the price I paid I expected much more!

It is a very well done experience. I just wish breakfast was better. The food was ok....but really kind of disjunct. As it is a buffet, focus on the basics and make them fantastic. The sausage is the worst feature and the bacon is probably the best. The sausage just tasted like triple frozen discount patties that are microwavable in a pinch. It is painful because on weekends it costs a small fortune to bring a family of 5 and then another fortune for an anticipatedbreakfast that was noteably subpar. Staff seemed uninterested in making a difference.

Nice water park, but very disappointed in their customer service. I've been calling for couple of days in regards of my daughter's lost items and finally someone told me that they cannot find it. My daughter left a backpack with all of her birthday gifts inside the hotel room and they told me that it cannot be located. I think they should know who was cleaning room #3021 after check out, so maybe they should talk to that person first.

It was my first time visiting. The wait to get checked in was abnormally long, but I factored that to the Holiday. The water park is a paradise for children, the parents will have fun because of this.

They make sure there are activities for the kids outside of the park too. Magic shows, arts and crafts coloring, cookie crafts was my favorite.

This is a great place for a family getaway.

Water park, arcade, rooms, common areas are above average but the food and speed of service are not good. We still go once a year and hope things aren't as bad as we remembered, but we are disappointed every time. If they could just pull it together in those two areas it could be great. Their menu has good choices, but the execution is dismal.

We stayed in the two bedroom suite and it was the perfect size for two adults and three children. The girls stayed in the room with two beds and loved having their own room and bathroom. The water park is great and they have pretty much thought of everything. It's great having everything you need all in one place.

This was our 3rd time and maybe our last. 2 places you could eat at are closed. The drink cup you can buy from one shop for 10 bucks was sold out however the other shop that sold it for 15 was in stock. The wave pool was closed for an hour and some of the rafts are going flat. We only stayed one night and it was a Groupon. I can tell it's no longer crossing the t's and dotting the i's but that's just my opinion.

This place is fun and checks a lot of boxes - and maybe in isolation I would score higher. But the reality is that bigger, better, and cheaper options exist just 90 mins North in Wisconsin Dells. From a value perspective it also feels expensive for what you get - we spent about $400/day here (including room, food, activities etc..). Maybe if you get a great deal in the winter, this makes sense - otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Great place that's not hours away with Dunkin donuts Ben an Jerry's Ice Cream an countless other places to eat inside or feel free to walk or pile the family into car an eat at McDonald's Culver's an countless other places that are near the ones I mentioned you can literally walk to.Entertainment wolf love has to offer mind you this exact location was keys lime cove.Clean kid safe an get ready to do your cardio walking up an down the high slides tubes every little area has a bar with enough t.v.plasmas to not miss your sports game.fun for everybody story telling by the great wolf's helpers.Again it's close to Chicago an hour it took our family to get their, with Great America across the street.

Good place to stay. Lots of entertainment for the kids. I recommend buying any of their passes beforehand if you plan on keeping the little ones busy- worth the money too. If not, plan to stay in the water park or pay attention to the schedules they hand out.

Went there with the kids for a weekend, our last visit is when it was key lime cove that wasn't that special. Our room had cobwebs in it but all in all it was clean. The outside areas aren't to clean and had a strange odor outside. Since it was key lime cove and they didn't do a good job of painting over the old colors the key lime cove colors are showing through. Water park was nice and they added to it but the drinks and food were overpriced as well as the room rates. If you want to go to a much better place then visit Kalihari resort instead. Our family of 2 adults and 3 children are at the fancier restaurant in great wolf lodge and it cost us $167.00. Way over priced.

A lifeguard by the name of Graham was very friendly and approachable. He acted like what he did was more than just his job, he showed enjoyment and enthusiasm. I felt like my kids were in good hands with him around. Looking forward to future visits

Good time at the water park except they need to put a height measuring board at the bottom of the stairs to the slides so u can check if your kid is tall enough before u get to the top and find out if they are tall enough or not.

What a wonderful time we had ar Great Wolf Lodge! We went mid-week in December and it was TOTALLY worth missing a day of school for having the waterpark to ourselves. There were no lines for the slides and overall the place was pretty tame. I have never had a better waterpark experience!

We used to visit Key Lime Cove and are amazed at how much better Great Wolf is-- when comparing this place to The Dells-everything was revamped and the indoor waterpark is fun for kids of all ages and even adults. What I really loved was the 2 family slides. Up to 5 people (800lbs) are's allowed on a giant circle raft and it's a blast to go down with so many others! There's a total of 7 "big" slides (need to climb 80+stairs) and I feel this was the perfect number to provide a variety for all visitors. Kids partied pretty hard for around 7 hours and didn't get bored...

Place is super clean and everyone who works there is overly friendly. There are some tweaks needed--temperature in different parts of the pool varied and water in the middle area was chilly. Not sure how picky to be when the outdoor temperature is under 30 degrees.
One small detail which upset me. Our suite fit 6 people, however the bathroom did not have a fan--- that many people in a closed area NEEDS a fan, for both sound privacy and for ventilation of any noxious fumes from washroom. Kids LOVED the bunk beds, wifi and the Google tvs.
WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!

The bad: The water park area was smaller than I had anticipated and tube for the lazy river were not readily available. Drink prices were insanity. When wet, the elevator floor was VERY slippery. The good: the accommodations were quite nice. The suite was large and comfy with good ammenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ate at 3 of the restaurants and every one was great and the food was good.

Well, these folks are lost. No microwave in Gurnee also No laundry service. We are a family who goes to water parks twice a year. Our children have been sick before. Can you imagine having vomit or other yuck things happen with no way to wash anything? yeah. Nuts. It's a water park and hotel. That was strike one. No Jacuzzi's...are they serious? Kalahari has like 4. Even Key Lime Cove had a lame one only for adults. That is strike 2. This place closes at 9 and forces everyone into the much smaller game room that now has carnival pricing and I am no cheapskate. You will spend $100 in no time and half the games didn't work. That is strike 3. Your towels better not get stolen in the water park because you will be charged $10 per towel when you HAVE to return them. Good times!. Bring your own. The water park is really nice. No Kalahari by far but not bad. The staff, really nice, but I will drive the three hours than be raked by this place and not get my monies worth. They definitely take advantage of you. The golf course is seriously a joke it's so tiny, you have these tiny 7 holes that take about 5 min. to get through for $7. We bought 2 pieces of candy like wrapped cheap candy also $7. If you want a case of beer...here ya go.. $40...not kidding!. They took out the clock in the water park altogether, that's nice of them for no apparent reason so you have to walk around like idiots bothering those with phones to check the time. We stayed 3 nights, 4 days. Very much regret it because the Dells has so much more to offer. If you haven't been to the dells you will possibly be more satisfied because you haven't had better, not everyone wants to drive that far and lastly, the water is freaking ice cold. I thought the outdoor new pool would at least have a place for a jacuzzi but nada. I was really disappointed.

As much as we love Key Lime Cove, I am sad to report that this visit has us concerned. We've been here many, many times over the past several years, and have almost always been impressed by the quality of the service, staff, rooms, and the upkeep/maintenance of the property itself. When we inquired last night about where our favorite bartender we always look forward to saying hello to was, were told by an employee that the hotel has changed management, and that a "large number" of things were different. We could see that for ourselves, unfortunately. The lifeguard staff is the part that is most concerning, since they were so amazing before. On this trip we have encountered no less than 3 outrageously rude guards, 2 who appeared to be afraid of getting splashed, and more than I could count who were just bored and uninterested. I have not seen a single "check test" this whole weekend. There's an awful lot of rust on beams all over the water park....also not what we're used to seeing. This morning my husband went to the 24-hour shop for an item and found the door locked. The sign said to knock or find a "smiling employee" if that happened, and he saw someone inside, so he knocked. The lady inside the shop was disgruntled and nearly bit his head off when she reluctantly let him in. What in the world is going on?? Our room is fine but you can just see signs of wear and less attention all over the place. Spills/stains that could easily be removed, worn linens, scuffed/scratched doors...I don't know who the new management is, but I'm worried a place we really love is going to just be let to go downhill. Its expensive to stay here! The expectation is that the price you pay ensures a safe, satisfying trip.

Gave us the Wrong room. Wouldn't do anything about it. overpriced. . lifeguards wearing shoes and socks. Not blowing whistles on roudy kids. Don't think
we saw anyone over 25 years old managing a thing. Employees just standing around at areas just talking not helping with the rock climbing u,til their conversation,. Was done

It was way too expensive per night during season - compare $350 per night to $90 per night off season! It s way too expensive, isn t it?

Nevertheless, it was enjoyable. Though, they need to add more activities for teens as most activities were for mainly for younger kids.

I would recommend that they add a few halal dining options for their Muslim clients as I saw a few there.

In addition, they should allow for visitors to the aqua park even if they are not staying at the lodge. They can of course limit the number of visitors but they should allow it.

Key Line Cove is without question the best water park /hotel that we have ever stayedstayed. It's water rides are exceptional, the food is great, the staff are friendly and courteous, and it parking is ample. I would only like to see them improve its rooms needs and bathroom. Key Line Cove gets 4.5 out of 5 stars

BEWARE OF DOUBLE CHARGES ON TOUR CREDIT CARD. Check your card after booking . I was double charged for my room. At first I figured the double charge would be taken care of when I called customer service, but after waiting 45 minutes for customer service I was told that I would have to call my bank and take care of it myself. They would not give me a credit. I wonder how often they do this and people don t notice. Refusing to credit a double charge is unacceptable.

First time at great Wolf Lodge since they renovated Key Lime Cove
Rooms are very similar layout. Room was clean and nice.
The towel checkout process at the water park was frustrating. We turned in all our towels and scanned the wrist band and the next day they would say we still had all the towels from the day before.
I was disappointed that they took out the hot tub!
The kids enjoyed the new wave pool area. The toddler splash pad area and slide area was very nice for little ones.
We all loved the tube slides and body slides, but be prepared for a workout carrying the tubes up all those stairs.
The lazy river would have been great except there was no one removing empty tubes from the river and there were points when it was solid empty yellow tubes.
Overall we would go back for a one night stay if we got a good deal or Groupon, but for more than one night we will head to the Dells

Despite the previous reviews on here this place was EXTREMELY CLEAN.! Due to covid they still had everything available for kids to enjoy the staff was so on top of keeping things clean and sanitary. Even in the water park which was my main concern but everything was sprayed and wiped down continuously. The staff there was GREAT my son really enjoyed his 1 day get bday get away for his 5th bday. Me and my husband were able to enjoy him enjoying his self and not have to worry about sanitizing everything. Our rooms were clean and I double checked due to the other comments. I didn t have to complain or clean anything. Although I sprayed my disinfectant just b/c I do that at any stay away from home. We are looking forward to coming back soon. GREAT STAY.!

Good

The value for the money is not there one night dinner and breakfast no other adventures and it was 6 hundred dollars. everything u do there costs way to much and they took the Hot tub out for the adult to relax after going on all the slides. I also was very cold in and out of the water after just a couple of times had to get out and change was so cold. If they want to make it they need to have more for the adults also it's not only for kids.

First time using the online check in will be using it from now on. Only complaint was the 35 min wait in line for Dunkin donuts this morning i get its busy but at that point i could have driven to the one a half mile away and been back faster otherwise great time as usual room was very clean the food at all the the other places was fast and good

The hotel is new and has a lot more activities than the old occupants. I enjoyed the magic quest with my kids. We had breakfast there and it was so good. Better than your standard breakfast fare in other hotels. The water park is super nice and they have the wave pool in the back. Bigger than before. So that's awesome. My kids enjoyed it a lot. The rooms are big and the internet is fast. Their TV's had Google Android tv built in. So that was cool. Pro tip try and park on the right side of the hotel. Much closer walk than the left side if it's full. I will definitely come back.

From my toilet leaking in my room from the smell of sewage all in the room from the place be ran by no one older than 18(seriously) we had 2 outlets in the bathroom that didn t work ,and one light out (they said but never fixed ) my wife couldn t even blow dry her hair and housekeeping leaving are room door wide open for anyone to walk in to steal anything they wanted would never come back and oh yeah there s was garbage all over the hallways

We had issues from the moment we made our reservations. Then there we were more issues when we arrived. Trash left in our room from previous guests, gum stuck to the floor between our adjoining rooms and a little smear of blood on the sheets. All taken care of when we brought it to their attention, but still a real annoyance. Then we paid $89 for late check out and our wristbands were deactivated at the normal check out time so we had to go to the front desk to reactivate them. To top it off housekeeping was knocking at our door 20 minutes to 2pm telling us it was almost time to check out. We knew what time it was! And we paid to check out at 2pm, not earlier. The kids enjoyed themselves, but the whole experience was irritating.

What an inconvenience. We have 4 adults in our overpriced suite yet they only allow 2 key cards per room so to go back to my room or god forbid to my car I had to find another adult with us to get access in . Front desk told me it was policy and they told the other adult in our party it was $50 for extra key card. What BS!!!

I rated it 4 stars. We got the theme room. It was nice. It would be good if their was a microwave in the room. It was kind of dirty in the room. Somebody had allergies in our group so we had to be very careful about the food that was there. The pool was very nice. It was kind of small. The slides were very fun. We went for winter break so it was cold. In some spaces it would be really cold. The water in the big bucket area was super cold. Somebody turned blue. The wave pool was super fun though. Also it was super fun doing the Magiquest. For parents in the morning their's a dunkin donuts. You can then get your coffee. Great Family Fun. We loved Great Wolf Lodge.

Rooms are old, thought they would be updated. Towel rack fell off and housekeeping said it was because I tried to place towels on it (What? Isn't that what it's for?)

Check in took an hour even with mobile precheck, only had 2 mobile check in agents and 3 regular check un agents for spring break week at peak check in times. They can learn a lot from Disney.

Valet informed me they didn't have handicapped parking onsite (Again, what?). I later found the handicapped parking, 1/2 mile from the main entrance. This is not convenient for a handicapped customer. More thought should have been placed into design of the building and parking structure.

They charge $69.99 for late check out from 11am-2pm, no option for checking out 39 minutes or an hour later such as 12pm. Housekeeping staff and carts are sitting outside your room by 9-930am just waiting for you to leave. Not my idea of a relaxing vacation.

Okay let me first start off by saying that this place was amazing for the kids! The park is very clean it's not too big but it's not small either. There are lots of things for little kids and big kids alike. And as we all know it is desirable that for the adults there is a decent selection of alcoholic beverages available for consumption while lounging around the pool and watching your Wee Ones. There are a lot of lifeguards on duty and they always had their eyes open. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and attentive. Whenever I had an issue or a question they were always happy to help. If you're interested in the paradise Mist Spa I will have to STRESS how important it is that you book your treatments ahead of your trip. It is very difficult to get a hold of them by phone even from within the resort. They have so so hours and the spots fill up very quickly. The pricing is fair considering where you are. As far as the cuisine goes the food is as to be expected at a place that caters to kids. This being said there are lots of restaurants close by as you were right next to Gurnee Mills shopping mall. If you happen to forget anything from flip-flops and swimsuits to toothpaste and feminine hygiene products they are available with in the resort. Now it is important for me to States that you will pay for everything in this Resort! And when I say pay I mean you will pay a pretty penny. Three days at this Resort including the price of the room and Waterpark insurance ran my family of four upwards of $1,200. I think it's worth the trip if you're prepared to pay the price. There are also ways for you to keep the amount of money spent down by planning your meals out making sure that you have all the supplies you'll need and most importantly keeping the kids away from the game room! Hope that if you go your family enjoys it as much as mine did!

This was my first time at the lodge and I can't express enough what an awesome find it has been. This is the perfect place to be in Chicago's cold weather. The indoor water park is humongous. The rides are family friendly and so much fun. They have so many activities for all age levels. Outside the water park also there are a plethora of activities to do such as putt putt golf, arcade, climbing wall, and other specific activities. Although these activities are extra charge. They also do special events such as story time for kids. I'd say a great place to spend time for families. Only thing it's quite pricey. So you also want to check out your budget before making a dash for here.

Great place for young and old alike!! A lot more to do than play in water. Although that is plenty. Meals slightly higher than norm, but we were given good sized portions. Rooms were very nice and all was what these places can expect to be.
