Perfect for families with small children or children of mixed ages.
We stayed for two nights with three kids, ages 16, 14, and 13. Overall, our stay was excellent, and we will stay again if we are in the area.
PRO: The waterpark was excellent. Five slides, a Lazy River, a wave pool, and a three-story interactive water play structure, all intertwined in a superb feat of architectural design. It was very clean and well maintained, the place was CRAWLING with lifeguards, and I think they may use an advanced formula for their chlorination, because the water wasn't as irritating as I find most pools. It kept all three of my kids entertained for hours, and yet with very little deep water it is well-suited for much smaller children.
PRO: Impressive partnership with Six Flags. In addition to offering room packages with deeply discounted Six Flags passes, they also offer affordable sack lunches prepped at the resort and delivered to Six Flags, and a free shuttle that runs frequently and on time. I can't imagine staying anywhere else for a Six Flags vacation.
PRO: The place is a true resort, laid out like an enclosed mall. Multiple restaurants, burger bars, and soda fountains on two levels, along with gift and travel necessity shops, two spas (one for adults only, the other catering to kids as well), a huge arcade, coffee shop, and a blow-your-mind candy and confection shop.
PRO: Nice little amenities, like being able to order a plate of warm cookies and milk to take up to your room.
MEDIOCRE: I have neither high praise nor biting criticism for the accommodations. I should say that the basic rooms look pretty solid, but our "suite" was a room separated from a sitting area by a sliding door. It was not the kind of privacy we had expected.
CON: The service was generally slow, sometimes painfully slow. Most of the staff were very nice. However one or two threw us some unacceptable attitude. For example, the guy at the pizza place was very rude because our order was near closing time. They could definitely benefit from some more training or better management.
CON: As the place caters to families, there are a lot of kids running around along with the associated noise. Not a CON in my book, but be forewarned.
CON: Not spotless. I can't recall anything that I considered unacceptable, but outside of the water park itself the janitorial work was below what I am accustomed to seeing in hotels and resorts. Again, an opportunity for better management.
