I rarely leave a poor review. I always email the restaurant and explain my disappointment. This is the second time I have emailed Kevin Rathbun's Steak after a less than satisfactory experience, and no response. On November 15th we had an early reservation. Kevin Rathbun Steak was half full. Our service was attentive, We ordered 2 Steak Dianes and the sauce was hot and the steaks were cold. Our server said he would "warm them up". He apologized. He gave us an additional side which was served room temp, not hot. We will not return to Kevin Rathbun Steak. My opinion is that business is so good they don't care if a customer's experience is less than satisfactory.

I didn't eat there, just got hasseled by a steak house parking attendant who was monopolizing the huge parking lot, shared by ALL the tenants, for his valet parking scam. Was asked to leave and park a block away, even though I had a private party to attend in the same building as the steak house. Booooo!

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at Kevin rathbun's in May, and it was most excellent, everything was amazing, food choices, ambiance, service...even the background music was pleasurable. Our 2nd visit last night was even more outstanding, the delectable dry aged steak and complimenting appetizers were perfect before a night stroll on the belt line....

Everything was surprisingly bad from the steak to the sides to the appetizer. $104 Porterhouse for 2 is the smallest porterhouse I've ever been served. Everything was too salty. Completely and utterly flavorless. I find it hard to believe that this is the best steak in Atlanta. Honestly I ve had a better steak at Longhorn. Service was okay.

Our waiter Michael was extremley personable, knowlegeable and attentive. The service and level of profesionalism was superb. Ambiance was top notch, now to the food, itll be hard to find a better cut, well marbled and prepared exactly to your taste. That said, sides were not included, and were very expensive, as are the questionably portioned "appetizers". Youll pay more than enough for good food, but are mostly doling out for the cozy atmosphere and kind, courteous service. Great for buisness meetings, (fancy schmancy) but, may I suggest Longhorne if you want a chance of getting more "steak" bang for your buck..

Have had mixed experiences here over the years. The first time we went, about 5 years ago, everything was excellent. The last time we went in March, the experience was less than remarkable. Salads were OK (drenched in dressing), side dishes were unspectacular (garlic spinach, onion rings, risotto), and our dry aged steak was quite overcooked to medium-well (a waste of a good steak). Desserts were OK, but we expected more. Service was great, as expected.

We sat at the bar as we did not have reservations and had the most amazing service and meal. Trust me, if you get the dry aged steak for two, you don't need two sides. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs? Steak was perfectly cooked and so tender.

Made reservations 3 hours in advance only to be given a table the size of a baby car seat. Requested another table and was ignored. Waited patiently and voiced situation to staff and owner, kev. Manager, Ava, became confrontational and asked me why i told kev I was not being helped. Was told to leave on my bday with my loved one. I read a review below suggesting harassment and certain behaviors that I will not state publicly. Highly shocked and disappointed. Still gave business to sister rathbun restaurant down the street. Glad we didn't eat at kevins because the food was also disappointing. Patrons be aware and read your reviews. Also one of waiters was chasing me out the property. Professionalism is not in their mission statement.

This is spot hidden gem! Ken, our sever was awesome as well as the gentleman on his team clearing tables & refilling drinks. The ambiance was everything for our 11th wedding anniversary dinner. The steak literally melted in my mouth although it was cooked longer than I requested; still juicy & the seared crust was perfect! I don't eat meat often, but this will definitely be our go to when I want to cheat with a phenomenal meal.

I went there for my birthday as is tradition. It did not disappoint! The spinning bowl salad was fresh and flavorful, and the prime rib was juicy and tender, and seasoned just right. The sides were hearty and tasty as well. The lobster tails weren't super big, but they were meaty and delicious. Even the desserts were fantastic; their sundaes are simple but taste great.

And you get unlimited fresh Yorkshire pudding with your steak. That's possibly my favorite food there; I don't know how they make it so soft and delicious, but I could probably fill up on that alone.

The atmosphere is very nice..the food is good...but nothing that's terribly "over the moon" by any means. It's quite expensive for what you actually get; so I usually just limit my culinary adventures here to appetizers and drinks becuase I can enjoy this caliber of delicious food at a much more reasonable price point elsewhere.

Best steak I ve ever had. I always get the filet mignon and I ve gotten well done (while I was pregnant) to medium. Even the well done portion cut like butter. They even butterflied the filet for me the last time I went...I didn t even know that was a thing with filets...also great sides. Love this place. It s a far drive for us but worth it.

Disappointed in the overall experience. I have never been to a hibachi that didn't put on a show. My kids were so disappointed. In a fairness, the table next to us did put on a show and interacted with the kids seated there, but our chef did nothing but cook. Being new to PTC, my kids wanted to try this for their birthday as they live hibachi places. They were so let down.

Food was good and portions were large.

I went w/a group of friends as a party of 6 on Mon 8/22. Our reservations were for 7pm that night, we were seated promptly but didn't manage to leave until a little after 10 pm. After ordering our appetizers things seemed to slowly go downhill. The appetizers showed up on time and were very good. I had the caesar salad which was perfect. After finishing our appetizers we waited, and waited and then waited some more for our main meal. We started to notice other tables that had been seated after us get their meals and in a few cases even leave. All while we still waited. A young lady who was very nice and apologetic came by and offered to comp our first round of drinks. I appreciated that but still our food never came until much later. The waiter came by a couple of times and he also apologized but never really said what happened. When we asked him what was wrong he never really said, just sort of brushed it off. I would've certainly been understanding if he'd even said he'd forgotten to put the order in or that the kitchen was just backed up. It was busy that night but no more so than other times I'd been there.
Eventually our food did show up and my steak was fine. A couple of the burgers my friends ordered were overcooked and some of the other meals were a little cold. Had the impression that they'd been sitting around a while before they were brought to our table. Basically the only meal that was any good was my steak so I lucked out. The waiter did remove one of the burgers off the bill.
When we were settling up we saw our first round of drinks were still there on the bill. The waiter did remove them but the whole experience that night was really just odd. I don't know if the waiter was new or what but it certainly wasn't typical of my past experiences.

Aside from the confusing and similar names of the Rathbun's restaurant trio, everything about eating here is great. Hard to go wrong with a nice filet mignon, I'm a total steak snob and these guys have one of the best. The portions of the side dishes are large enough for at least two people to share. The service is always impeccable. Sitting at the bar or a bar area table is a different but still excellent vibe. Have Irv make you an espresso-tini to start the night off right!

I visited the beltline and stumbled upon one of the greatest outdoor seating areas with superior service, food, and ambiance. I was not only greeted warmly and taken care of but the food was delicious. I ordered a glass of the Riesling wine, fries, and an appetizer, Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. The food was fresh, flavorful and worth every pretty penny. The beef carpaccio just melts away with robust flavor and is very delicate. I enjoyed it and it was a great end to a stressful week. The ambiance was light, noise level low but not too quiet, people were engaged in conversation not yelling over the table next to them. The brick fireplace and candles set a great low key and warm tone. The crowd tonight was mostly small mixed groups, couples, and some romantic dates. It was a last minute decision but well worth it and a great kickstart to my weekend. I would definitely return and recommend for singles, family and friends looking for intimate outdoor seating with amazing top notch food and drink. Thank you for great night out on the beltway. Hope to be back soon!

I dont make much money but I enjoy treating myself every once in awhile. Although it was expensive (were in Atlanta in a high end restaurant) it was an amazing experience. Only issue I had was my waiter was not clear in his presentation and spoke very soft, I really was not sure what the special was. So I accidentally ordered the $50 lobster...however I dont regret it we will be back!

Get the filet medium...it's amazing.

Very enjoyable dinner. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The drinks are amazing, have several. Not the best steak I've ever had, but it is up there. Cooked perfectly medium rare. The cheese fritter app is to die for. The raw oysters we're divine. The baked Alaska dessert is definitely the way to end your meal.

Disclaimer: Don't go here if you want to spend less than $100 per person, or if you want your meal to take less than 2 hours.

The atmosphere and service are outstanding, especially if you aren't in a rush. The Japanese short ribs were the best I've ever had in my life. And the aged steak is excellent, even for high-end steakhouses. The appetizers are plentiful, but the main course and dessert menu are small and simple -- but they do steak very well.

This is a great place to go for celebrations or for a very special date.

I m sure this will be controversial, but I think this is the best steak experience in Atlanta. The food is fantastic, but the staff is even better. Ask for Todd, his recommendations are top notch.

I own a restaurant that was recently voted Best of the Best Restaurant in our area. I have an amazing Chef who has spoiled me. It is rare that I can go out to another restaurant and not be disappointed. Kevin Rathbun Steak was an extremely pleasant surprise. Every meal waa flavored and cooked perfectly. The service was phenomenal. The desserts were absolutely amazing. I would welcome the opportunity to go back. And I NEVER say that.

The meal was very good. The mussels were excellent. But I wasn't overly impressed with the steak and that's why I was there. For the price, I think there are better options. That being said, it's still a very good meal with a nice atmosphere

It's incredibly hip, trendy, you feel famous, feels high end, and a great atmosphere. Then the food came and I just dont get it. While it wasnt bad, it was blah. Everyone at the table when you asked gave the typical shrug and underwhelmed look that said, I would have thought it was going to be so much better but we could have gone to Longhorn and probably been happier.' And I dont really like longhorn, but at a 3rd the price of this place and probably a better steak...you get my point.

Excellent service (Ron) and excellent atmosphere, sides, and appetizers. However, my wife ordered a ribeye steak and got one without the cap! She remarked she got the wrong steak and they told us it did not have a cap (the best part). In other words, it was not a ribeye - they don't even have a name for this kind of steak. The fillets the other people at the table had, including me, were excellent, but we won't be back.

Indulge! It's totally worth the price! I spent $150. The atmosphere was really upscale. Service was impeccable. The drinks were stiff, but tasty. I ordered the crab cake appetizer, the 20 oz ribeye, half size portions of the Mac and cheese & steamed broccoli. My drink of the night was the Old Irv. I had 2! Everything was soooooooo good! I even finished off everything with a slice of cheesecake for dessert.

My husband and I had dinner last night at Kevin Rathbun, and let me tell you- then experience from beginning to end was exquisite. He was doing his best to treat me to a romantic dinner as a surprise, and the entire ambiance of the restaurant was perfect. Candlelit dinner and absolutely excellent staff and steaks made the night a night to remember. Kyle was our waiter and he was wonderful and very polite. We will visit again soon!

Fancy place, nice inside, waiter was perfect. When i take the prices and compare with prepared steaks i can't be satisfied. Mine was artially burned on outside. Also the place is so dark many of customers must read their menus with cell phone flash light. Add light, decrease prices or increase quality of stakes preparation and you will be closer to perfection as this place got it's potential for sure.

As good as it gets. This is a superb world-class steakhouse and one of our favorites. The service and food are outstanding on all levels. It's not as formal nor stuffy as many top tier steakhouses, but it delivers on a rich and flavorful steak and superb sides. We found many of the sides to be very flavorful, almost "smoky" and truly unique. A solid wine list and a classic dark and warm ambiance make this a favorite. The only other steakhouses in Atlanta that we feel can compete are Bones (Classic, formal perfection) and Chops (Classic American Steaks, wines and cocktails.) Kevin Rathbun is truly unique and worth 5 stars. Superb service and awesome steaks make this a winner! For a quicker meal, try sitting at the bar as they deliver a full menu and fast service.

My wife and I celebrated my birthday at Kevin Rathbun's Steak. We shared the dry aged steak for two with a half tempura lobster. The steak was a porterhouse cut cooked to our liking. We ordered the black truffle butter to accompany the steak and it was a great decision. The steak was absolutely delicious. We shared a side of charred jalapeno creamed corn and the mac and cheese tart. Both were amazing and the creamed corn was not that spicy. We finally finished the evening with the tiramisu baked alaska. It was bit sweeter than we normally eat for dessert but nonetheless great to end the meal on.

The greeting, the wait staff, and service was great. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. We plan to visit again and would recommend it to anyone.

I would rank this up there with Peter Luger in NYC and Gibson's in Chicago, it is a top tier steakhouse with fantastic food and fantastic service. It surpasses the food and service of del Frisco's, Ruth's Chris, smtih and wollenskis, etc. DO NOT MISS OUT!!

Service was nice and informative, food was just OK.....this experience was just to bland for the money.

This was the 1 and only blahhhhhh experience I have ever had here

I wanted to come here and enjoy a quite birthday dinner with my wife. She does not eat steak, but loves their Seabass.

We started with a Martini and a glass Scotch.. crabcakes, then 2 salads.

We then moved on to a few glasses of wine with dinner. My wife ordered the Seabass with a side of vegetables and I ordered a $90 steak MR with pepercorn sauce and some Lobster Mac and cheese. The wine took a while to get to the table, but everyone seemed busy so no harm there.. the food also took a bit longer than expected.. we had a 25 min lag between apps and entrees. When the food came out we were underwhelmed.. Her fish was very undercooked (chewy, not flaky) and my steak was black and crispy on top. We sent the fish back to get bumped up and I just sliced the top 20% burnt part off my steak off and just poured the peppercorn sauce over the top. My wife felt like the Lobster Mac was luke warm but did not want to say anything since her fish was undercooked as well.. A manager brought my wife's fish back and it was now cooked correctly. He did thank us for allowing them to correct the mistake.. Always great to hear that kind of response to a problem..

Opportunities:
There was no mention of my birthday from the hosts at the front door. I heard my wife throw a hint to the 3 ladies since she put it in the reservation. Always use the information people give you.. It is the easiest (and free)way to wow your guests
Use guests names, say thank you for enjoying your birthday with us, check on each course for satisfaction at least once if not twice.. manager table touch

You probably don't need to see a review online to know that Kevin Rathbun makes good food. The steakhouse doesn't disappoint. Housed in a large but very elegant warehouse, the low bar allows you to see the whole staff of cooks at work. When I went with my family (6 of us) there were a couple of mistakes with our order that were quickly fixed but kept these fabulous steaks from a five star. Just please don't get your steak more thoroughly cooked than medium-- trust the chef.

After hearing so many good things about this place, we finally had a chance to stop by for dinner.

**KRS offers complimentary valet**
*Located on the Beltline*

Our reservation was at 6:30pm on a Friday night. The place wasn t that busy.

The menu offers variety of steaks and seafood.

For appetizer, we ordered a Caesar salad and Bone Marrow. The Caesar salad was sub standard (nothing special). The bone marrow was absolutely delicious! It was served with a picked garlic relish type of sauce which complimented the taste.

As entree s- the special was a dry age- bone -in strip($70). The steak came out to medium rare as requested but the outer layers were burnt (liked crispy charred). Also ordered the 6oz Filet ($35) which came out to perfection with truffle oil.

We decided to pair our entrees with wild roasted mushrooms ($12). Nothing spectacular.

Overall, my most favorite thing was the bone marrow. The service was great!

Very good dining experience....even after the kiddo spilled her drink! Very attentive staff and the food is out of this world. I ordered a filet and it was cooked to perfection with plenty of flavor. It was hard choosing sides because they all sounded so good but we ended up with the jalepeno creamed corn, brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. I could have made an entire meal just from the creamed corn. Great atmosphere and the area at Krog St Market is very cool and upscale. Not the cheapest place to eat in the area for sure so don't think you're going to get out of there for less than a franklin or two. Well worth it though
