I live in visalia and have always been to kaweah delta.today i had a uncomfortable but great visit.my nurse cyrus was by far one of the best nurses ive ever had since going to kdmc.
Dr. Daniel Villegas was so awesome! Walked me through every step and was gentle throughout the procedure. I would pick him to do that procedure again. I was in so much pain & he made everything so much better! This was also my first time being treated there! Thanks again Dr!
I don t understand why this hospital has so many bad reviews. I ve lost the count of how many times I ve been admitted at this hospital. 3 times as a patient and other times with family and I only have good reviews RN s CNA s and Doctors are very nice they make you feel very comfortable and cared. I will always recommend Kaweah Delta Hospital. Now if we talk about the ER trust me they know what they re doing they will always take in first the people that are really sick and it all depends on how serious your condition may be.
Yesterday I went to the ER since I was having a miscarriage.they only had me in the waiting room for about 15 minutes. The nurses were AMAZING. Really thankful for the nurses and medical student who were there for me. They made me feel so comfortable. Before I went in I felt so upset about my baby. I asked for an ultrasound since we didn't get a chance to see our baby and they brought in everything into the room so we could have the chance to experience seeing our baby. I left feeling better about this whole situation thanks to those nurses and student.
Excellent customer service. Assistance right away!
I took my child here for like the 4th time in a year with similar symptoms, all they say is "she has allergies" or "it's strep throat" etc. Irrelevant things like that. This last time, we were the only ones in the ER and the nurses and PA took forever even though there were no other patients, whole time my child was in pain and I could hear them talking about food... FOOD! It was not until I actually stood up and was debating taking her to another hospital that the PA came to see her, and to top it off they were very rude. In addition, the PA left before his shift was over because.. his exact words "I do what I want" as if my child didn't need help and was crying from pain. If these people are in the medical field for the money or whatever reason, its better to choose another profession. Being in the medical field is no joke, there's peoples lives in your hands. A simple wrong diagnosis can cost someone's life! If possible and is not a life or death situation, take your loved ones somewhere else.
I went to the ER last night with chest pain. I went in at 11: 23 pm. They did not assign me to a bed until 3:30 am. I saw the doctor once and he offered 2 aspirins, which i declined because I had taken at home before coming to the hospital. I will never return to this place for an emergency.
PLEASE READ!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!
My 81 year old Father, with a myriad of health issues, including advanced dementia, was transported via ambulance to the ER this past Monday. After describing to the physician and multiple nurses that I strongly believed this had some correlation to a new blood thinner he was recently prescribed, they promised they would immediately look into it. He had a CT scan of his head ONLY, which was mistake #1. After staying with him for several hours into the night, I left to get some rest, assured that he would be placed into a room very soon to continue testing. I returned the next day....TO FIND MY DAD STILL IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM!!! He had been there for over 25hrs. He was slouched over and almost onto the floor, he had been sitting in his own urine for who knows how long, and had not had a single person check on him for hours....but it gets worse....after raising a fit in the ER when I found him, they finally moved him to the third floor unit a full 26hrs after initially going to the ER....still, no further testing had been done to check on his current condition or symptoms. I spoke with his RN on the third floor and told her his abdomen looked abnormally large and "gushy". She tapped and listened to his tummy and determined that he definitely sounded like he had ascites or some kind of fluid built up in his abdomen. I didn't know at that time that she never called a doctor, charted the new finding, or made any effort whatsoever to further look into things. We stayed with him for a couple hours and left around 8pm to get some rest. He was now so overwhelmingly exhausted that he couldn't wake up or coherently communicate anything to anyone. He woke up in the middle of the night and began violently vomiting blood everywhere! The next day...NOT UNTIL NOON WHEN I GOT THERE AGAIN, did anyone bother to insert a NG tube, call a GI specialist, or do much intervention at all to stop or investigate the cause of this bleeding. We are now at over 48hrs since being admitted to the ER before anyone managed to find out, intervene, and help what I had told these so-called "medical professionals" multiple times....THAT HE WAS ON A NEW BLOOD THINNER AND THEY NEEDED TO CHECK HIM FOR SIDE EFFECTS. NO ONE DID A DAMN THING!!! Now, his mental state is so far degraded that we're not sure if he's even able to come back home again. This could have all been avoided and could have been stopped much, much sooner than it did. My Dad was bleeding internally for days, and no one did anything to stop it or run the appropriate tests to find out what was wrong with him. This hospital and every staff member that had a part in his care, neglected my Dad, left him like trash to rot in his own excrement because he has dementia and was a problem patient. They simply sedated him and walked away. Not even the nurses on the third floor made the correct judgment calls or interventions to help him. I am contacting an attorney as soon as my Dad is discharged. Lord knows how much time was ripped away from the very fragile time we had left with him in the first place. This was gross neglect and malpractice at its absolute finest. I am angry, I am disgusted, and I want justice for my Dad. This hospital is a horrible example of what medicine should be today. Shame on you Kaweah Delta!!
Now I know why it's called Killer Delta! You will go in for a broken bone and come out in a body bag.
Under the sercumstance & overall great. Have to give RN Amal the best of all RNs during my 24hr stay in the ER. Thank u much.
Retired next day after heart attack. I had a reaction to medication and had hallucinations. The treated me like I was crazy. They didn t try to correct the medication reaction. They were bothered by my reaction. I am sure I am not the first patient to have this reaction to meds. The next day I returned to er because I was to sick and weak to go home the day I had the heart attack. I left because I was mentally confused. They should have corrected my medication reaction not let me go home. The RN in er sad that He has never seen someone with my test results be sent home. I didn t want to go home I just had a heart attack the day before. However the man in charge of cardiology dept was angry with me because Of my reaction to medication (confusion) bothered him. They sent me home. I was so weak I couldn t even walk to restroom by my self! What up????? I cam back a year later with chest pains again and they lost my chart and they never gave me any care.I just sat there for hours and hours!!! I did ask a RN to help me get care they told me every one has to wait! The next morning a er doctor called me to say sorry they had a new system an they lost me. That was the reason a person with history of heart attack never was given any treatment. This is a good place to die. Very disappointed. I looked this hospital up to see its ratings they are on the list of the 25 worst hospitals in the country!!!!! Get in your car and drive to Fresno. You get much better care and be home hours before you would if you went to Kawabata Delta. Very saddened by the poor quality of care we have in our town.
Worthless place. Wait is ridiculous and the place is so unorganized and filthy.
My daughter was there today, our family Dr believed she has appendicitis and needed a CT scan to determine if she needed surgery. Sent her straight to ER for a CT scan. Went in at 520 PM and at 1025 PM, she is still sitting in the waiting room with a IV in her arm with no CT scan yet. No medication as they won t give her anything till they finish the testing. Five hours sitting in the waiting room, she has passed out once already. No beds there, this is close to willfull negligence, how many others do they let suffer. They keep telling my wife she is next for the CT scan. That was for a total of 5 hours. I have had a few CT scans, its all digital now, takes minutes, not hours. KDH has a monopoly of care for the Visalia area. They buy up any other medical care facility in the area and now you have people waiting in tents in the parking lot. Told my wife if 30 minutes passes, to get all the test results and records, discharge her, and we will drive her to Hanford or Fresno. She was told that the ER won t give her anything about her visit, she can get any records from the records department, which will be open at 8AM tomorrow. KDH, guess you have lost all empathy with those your suppose to treat, its just a conveyor line of meat to you. Guess what, these are people, ER Veternary facilities give better care than what your dispensing. 11PM and still waiting. Asked again for the records so she could be taken to another hospital and without having them run the same tests again. Again told no, she could leave, but all the blood work, urine tests, etc would have to be redone at the hospital she goes to if she leaves. 12AM, she finally gets a CT done. 1AM, they tell her and my wife, we have no idea whats wrong, but we don t believe its life threatening. Wow, 8 hours to find that out. How many thousands of dollars is this visit going to total for ineptitude in its finest. I can see why you have more ratings of one than almost all others combined. I was advised that nursing staff were telling my wife and daughter that they would never come to this hospital ER, your organization has a problem. My wife has to wheel her out of the ER in a wheel chair herself as nobody would assist her. They advised her to leave it outside and they would get it later. I am guessing nobody from KDH even reads or cares about the complaints registered here, the automated reply funtion given on other reviews isn t going to cut it. I will be lodging a formal complaint with the California Department of Health, its obvious your hospital cares nothing about its own practices.
I went there cause I have a cold and headache and been pregnant I can t just use any medicine, the staff were really nice to me and I was seen immediately, I didn t have to wait, the nurse even made sure to call the doctors and ask if what I was given was pregnancy safe and they monitor my child s Heartbeat while I was receiving the treatment, even heard a lady came in all hysteric and concern about her baby and they calmed her down, she left smiling and relaxed, overall I ll definitely go back. Thank you guys cause I was really miserable before and after that treatment I slept for good hours.
I can only speak about labor and delivery and the NICU. I was treated amazing when going into labor and the nurses were always on it and after was the same they were amazing even when my son was taken to the NICU the staff in there were very comforting the hospital even let me stay and extra night so I could go and see my son
THEY STOLE MY DAD WALLET.WITH CASH IN IT ASWELL.THEY DONT KEEP YOUR BELONGINGS SAFE.I ALREADY REPORTED IT TO POLICE
Extremely disappointed in the treatment from the nurses in the 4th tower. My grandpa has been admitted due to CHF along with other life threatening diseases such a COPD, abdominal aortic aneurysm, kidney and hepatic disease. I called to see if I could bring one of our dogs to visit him and they replied, "Absolutely as long as you have proof of vaccines." I brought her two days in a row. She does nothing but sit quietly on the bed next to my grandpa and they sleep. He's tickled pink to have one of his best fur buds by his side. No barking or any other instances like that have occurred as she is a lazy bones chiweenie. On the third day I hear whispers and see pointing amongst the staff as I carry her in. I ask the floor manager what the issue is and her reply is "if I had called this morning for permission to bring her in?". No I did not because NO ONE told me this. Now I feel like I'm breaking rules that no one had me made aware of. I call like I am asked the fourth day. They're reply is "the dog can visit for a short visit". Upon hearing that I ask what the parameters of that means. Again she repeats the same words very shortly. I ask for an explanation because vague answers make me uneasy. The nurse tells me "maybe 5-10 minutes". I am upset by this fact. We contact the management and finally hours later they dig up a 2 page policy on dogs which does NOT state how long an animal companion can stay. Management came up with some arbitrary number of 2 hours for our case which is better than 10 minutes but in no way sufficient enough time for my grandpa. They think they're doing right by following rules that are not direct in the slightest, but in turn they're upsetting and hurting an elderly man. He's scared for his life and being punished for being sick and dying. I've seen nothing but heartless remarks and treatment towards his situation. Management asking "why I think he's dying". Because he is. She didn't even know the extent of his conditions which shows how much this staff is paying attention.
Went in for lower right abdominal pain that was radiating to my lower back. nurses are rude.
I requested something to help with the nausea. Both nurses looked at me like I was scum. Told me I have to wait for the doctor which is a 2 hour 45 minute wait. I dont need a response either.
I like to thank all the staff at the ER room that help me and save my life on Wednesday 10th October 2018, I had a such a severe bad anxiety and asthma tack I was only breathing 40 breaths per minute my daughter said she thought I was gonna die and she so grateful and thankful that all the staff at the ER were able to save my life and the EMTs so for that we thank you. I truly owe you all of my life and my daughter she s my little superhero she stayed by my side talking to me trying to calm me down keep me alert until the ambulance got here so she s my little superhero I love her with all of my heart I love you Lacy bear .!
Probably one of the worst hospitals I ve been to. The wait time wasn t too bad, but the staff is rude, and I never got to see a dr or nurse. My results came back from the same lady who asked me weird questions, and when I asked why she was asking me those type of questions she stated it s Sunday we always asks that question. I won t get in too much detail but I will never go back.
Went to the emergency room recently and was appauled by the entire experience. There were well over 100 people in the waiting room when arriving. Waiting room was an absolute zoo and seemed as if some families brought their entire family along with them. There was trash and used blankets left under chairs, absolute mess. After waiting 3 hours I finally saw someone who took my vitals and listened to why I was there. They ordered blood work, but didn't take enough so had to stick me a second time. They said my next step was a CT scan, but in the mean time they would give me tylenol to help with fever and pain. Sent my back into waiting room for another 2 hours. All in all I spent 13 hours there for them to tell me they didnt know why my lung was filling with fluid. Instead of draining it the doctor referred me across the street. I specifically asked if they do the procedure to drain my lung and he said yes. The next day I called and they said I didn't. All in all it was a complete waste of time. They mismanaged everything, this place is a complete joke. Take the extra time and go to Fresno or Bakersfield.
I have not been a patient and I live 200 miles away. My daughter took my grandson in to ER for asthma, he left in CPS custody. I m not sure if the staff or the contracted hospital social worker called CPS but their report indicated the staff was concerned that my daughter had no insurance card so they feared she would not fill the prescription and he would end up back in the hospital. She was never asked if she had a way to pay and nobody contacted me, his legal guardian, to discuss his medical history before admitting him as an inpatient and running a litany of blood tests. I m not sure the blood tests were really necessary but seems maybe he was admitted to await cps and ran blood tests because they were looking for something that they could use to justify the call to cps. He s been hospitalized for asthma and I have always stayed with him and I don t recall that many blood tests ever being done as a patient for asthma. But I guess they bill for each thing and they are going to be more thorough than if he were in his regular hospital. Still, when cps told me they were detaining him and I said no, my daughter is taking him home, they made my daughter leave. Then the hospital staff kept him there to wait for cps to transport him and would not allow my daughter to take him with her when she left. I even stated I was going to come get him but was told he is I. Cps custody and they could not do anything about it. Cps did not have a signed court order to remove him from the hospital and they should not have refused to let my daughter take him nor should they have allowed CPS to take him without a court order.
Very good hospital and staff.wife in here for the 2nd time after being released last month.she has a bad infection throughout her body and the nurses here on 4 north and the doctors especially doctor yang are going well out of there way to try and get her cleared of this infection.very thankful to all these wonderful people and doctors for doing there very best and beyond.hoping and praying for the best.we both are very scared about this infection she got.it has drained the life out of her
I have already talked to someone who turned in my claim, but my experience here is making me ever wonder if I would want to have kids again with how my sons birth went. He was born December 7th. The problems started when I was rushed to More
My 3mo. old daughter has been coughing and congested for weeks finally took her into the ER a little after 9pm. Within the first hour received xrays and a swab for both flu and rsv. Was told by Dr. Camacho they would return with results. Left sitting there for than 2hrs without hearing or seeing the Dr. When i approched a nurse and asked when we'd see the dr, she called and failed to inform me on any information. Again waited another 20 mins till i packed my things and let them know i was leaving. Dr Camacho claimed he was waiting for a urine sample which he ordered and asked the nurse what happened. She shrugged looked at the computer and said I don't know. I walked out! They failed to treat and care for my baby! They had forgotten about my sick daughter! I do not recommend taking your baby. They clearly do not have the capability of treating babies!
Hmmmm , my husband and I were the the first patients to see Dr Tets when he entered the practice with Visalia family practice? Many yrs ago we both love him as our Dr he is the best at sending you out to a specialist if he doesn't no what's wrong his bedside manor is the best his staff is awesome as well if you want a good Dr a trustworthy one he is the one for you, he is young and up to date on all the new medicine out there , Dr Tetz is the right Dr for you hands down.
This place is a perfect example on why monopolies shouldn't exist
The food they give people to eat in the Cardiovascular unit is on the same list of food they tell the patients not to eat.... sandwiches, chips, and soda.... guess they are looking for repet patients....
My sister-in-law gave birth here a few months ago and although it was a long and laborious process (no pun intended), the nurses in the labor and delivery unit helped so much by keeping my brother and his wife informed and updated as much as possible. The day nurse took time to explain what the delivery plan was and when changes were necessary, she also gave rationale as to why certain decisions were being made. The evening nurse was also great! Our family is so thankful to the great care they received in both L&D and postpartum.
The worst hospital in the state of California. If you dying you don't want to go here. Also the nurses are the worst.
I was in the emergency Room on July 29th with a very high heart rate, couldn't breathe very well. They took me right in, Joseph and Steven were right there for me with anything I needed. Once I got into a room 2South2 I had Amber and Niki as my night nurses. Want to thank them for the kindness and care. July 30th Ashley and Gaby were taking great care of me. Thank you ladies. The following evening there was RN Bea and
CNA Jeannett that were so caring.
Other than the nurse who took out the IV the day I was released, all who took part in my care were great. This was the 1st time I stayed, want thank the great nurses at Kaweah Delta Hospital.
Sincerely,
Kathleen McDevitt
3 West - Rude, condescending and unfriendly. Would rather die than go to that place again.
3 North - Much better.
Has any one else had contact with Dr Palacios in Anesthesia? It was truly the weirdest phone conversation I have ever had.
I don t know what s up with this man!
He seems dysfunctional and confused for the department director!
It literally took weeks to speak with him and every question I had he couldn t produce a reasonable response. All of my concerns were met with slurred and very awkward responses.
At one point he was shouting at me and his speech was so slurred I couldn t make out a a single word he was saying! He then abruptly ended the conversation!
We opted to drive much farther and have our procedure done elsewhere.
Beware something is off with this physician!
I would give 0 stars if I could. Waited 12 hours to be seen.....DO NOT GO THERE!
The best in service all the staff very professional and very friendly at all times. Always in a good mood they treated my son very well while I was in the hospital. I have no words to say how good they are at work ... thank you very much
I recently visited the Urgent Care on Court Street. I was seen by Letty Echavarria PA. She was the most compassionate, understanding, and thoughtful provider I have ever encountered! We need more people in healthcare with her work ethic and compassion. Thank you Letty
We went in on new years eve with our 11 month son with uncontrollable vomiting. We had one really good nurse in the ER, but when he went home it was terrible to say the least. The phlebotomist (3 of them) was terrible (also upstairs, didn't take their time and poked him 6 times to no avail). I know it was busy, but they would say they were going to give him something and forget about him for 2.5 hours before they'd come in and give him fluids, or nausea medication.
14 hours later, we finally got a room on the peds floor. All I have to say is it's night and day! The nurses seemed generally happy to see us and the baby. Always had a smile on their faces and tried their best to do what they could for our son. The doctor was a really nice woman who was extremely informative. This staff made a world of difference on how we thought of the hospital. So if like to say thank you to the Peds staff, you guys are amazing!
ER staff needs a little work... asked a nurse at the station who was our nurse after shift change, (our son was vomiting again) she seemed genuinely annoyed that my husband interrupted her conversation with another nurse.
My grandmother was very well taken care of!! Grateful for the amazing nursing and physicians & staff.
Went to the ER with a hand laceration, and the resident doc Reshma Shiwdin was so kind and made my bad situation a great experience! With all the craziness going on I can t thank the nurses, assistants and doctors enough! So appreciative!
Horrible hospital. My aunt went in because she couldn't breathe. She has COPD. They found out she had a chest infection. Kept her a few days and then released her early. Now she's back in there for the same damn thing, but now she's on a ventilator. I went to visit her Yesterday and she was choking. The nurse treated me like I was stupid and ignored the fact that my aunt was choking. Then the monitor's started going crazy and other RNs came in and made us leave the room so that they could finally help her. If there was a closer hospital than this place, I would be taking her there instead.
Horrible nurses in the ER horrible care in general. Never ever had a good expirience here
Whoever you working the phone right now is absolutely rude just called to see if they had an emergency dentist on call and she talk to me as if I was stupid
Not very clean and very slow service. Staff walks around drinking their coffee. Came in 10:30 pm for my wife s stomach pain. We re still waiting at 4:00 am. Should have gone to Fresno and avoided the country lazy attitudes.
The complete lack of quality care for patients is deplorable. The treatment of patients with severe and chronic illnesses should be illegal. Drive further go somewhere else.
You let my father in law have a heart attack from an infection you didn't take care of .. He is dying from lung cancer... He is now in a coma .. This hospital is going down like Advantist Health Hanford .. Please don't let people die like Hanford. So many drive to Kaweah rather than Hanford. Dont be like Hanford please. I hope sum1 is responsable for his heart attack.
Not very professional ya can be better cared for in Los Angeles at any of the medical centers faster and better the doctor's run around looking at school books wow
Had both of our kids here. Amazing staff and great facilities. Super clean.
ER is a little bleak and impersonal, but it's an ER, not a theme park.... what do you expect?
Amazing staff! I had to unexpectedly be a patient for 2 days. The nurses were prompt and so sensitive to my situation. Our room was clean. Couldn't be happier given the circumstances.
Several (5-6) years ago I was one of the unfortunate KDDH ER patients who got a major infection following an emergency appendectomy that could have been avoided had the er doctor listened to me instead of ignoring me, prescribing Tylenol and sending me home for "just back pain" against my pleas. The resulting, second surgery was by far worse than the appendectomy! My gut was scraped for abcesses and the wound ran from my navel to just above my crotch. I was there for an entire MONTH and released with an open wound to care for it myself after I decided I'd probably be safer that way.
Its been many years now and im still enduring chronic, often debilitating lower abdominal pain from the scarring, adhesions, and resulting (2) hernias.
I've seen this hospital deny advocates to mental health patients who screamed for them in obvious distress for lack of empathy and advocacy, by repeating "they're coming. Youre not the only one who needs help" for so long the patient is finally discharged or drugged before even seeing an advocate, whos supposedly always too busy to come. IS IT LEGAL TO DENY A DISABLED PATIENT **ACCESS TO AN ADVOCATE**??
The way they treat the homeless, non english speaking and mentally ill is brutal, and it's a shameful embarrassment to our heavily Latino community. Its a good thing they've got several decent Spanish speaking nurses since the docs are transitory, only doing mandatory (residency) duty, and aren't culturally apt for this heavily farmlabor (and Medi-cal!) populated area.
I sense they'll be walking a tightrope with that in the years to come if they don't clean up their act fast, given trends of social media, vlogs and passive observers to record bad medical providers with hidden cameras.
Disgusting. I'm sad that there aren't other options for low income patients who can't afford the money, nor the risk of driving out of town for --emergency-- care!
Been her since 3am in the room and my son is over here sick (1 yr) we ve been inside the back room waiting it s about to be 7am and we re still waiting, the staff here needs to be replaced they can easily just be in there little work space talking to eachother about life & laughing while people are here sick needing attention, this place is horrible
My 4 month old brother had some sort of liquid in his foot, the doctor just squeezed it and gave him medicine!! We went to another hospital and they told us he could ve lost his leg if he didn t get the right treatment. Worst hospital ever.
Still here waiting for room and now they say the hospital is full. No rooms. It s 230 in the morning so have been waiting 13 and a half hours now. We have to wait for room to become available God help us if this is what you call health care.
Worst wait ever. So unorganized!!!! Nurses run around like chickens with their heads cut off, but they do have one to chatter and gossip amongst each other than take care of sick patients. From a good hospital this one has definitely fallen off the throne. My mom was admitted to the ER at 11am and it was 6pm when I showed up when she was still waiting to be given phosphorous. She is a renal patient and that is why she was rushed to the hospital. As a daughter that made me so mad and all they could tell me was we are waiting on blood work. I then spoke to my mother and she stated to me it s like I m playing musical chairs going in and out in and out of observation room to the waiting area. What do I need to do to address things quick?! The other guy in the other room scare me and my mother cause he was coughing and I m pain that it was not being addressed.
Nice staff, somewhat clean, got in to do test right away, but god I have to wait forever just to get results and discharging.
This hospital has a serious communication problem. My father-in-law was unfortunately admitted here for several weeks and every time we would call, the case manager would have different conflicting information. When I would ask for more details she would basically say that she didn't know anything. Furthermore, the nurses in charge of his care would give us information that conflicted with what the case manager said, sometimes even on the same day. When he was finally discharged, we weren't given the supplies needed to take care of him and we received zero training or instructions. The nurses that brought him to the front only said "bye". We waited about half an hour for him to be discharged because he was seeing a specialist, but the hospital had already called us and said they were waiting for us to pick him up. His discharge packet had no information about how to care for his tracheostomy and was basically only a list of medications - it wasn't even clear which ones he was supposed to keep taking and which ones he was supposed to stop taking when he was discharged. His doctor wrote him a prescription that wasn't covered by his insurance, so we weren't able to get one of his medications for several days. I am grateful to the men and women that gave him the care he needed, but I don't need to be a medical professional to see that this hospital has some serious issues.
They need to take some pride this place is filthy...Sansum Clinic could give them some lessons ..cant believe they close eating places down just lookk up at the lighting fixtures and down at the floor how pathetic to say the least
My mom was just discharged 11 days ago and today her dr sent her to the ER. We have been here for 7 hours with her arm ooozing from cellulitis. Said that they want to admit but have a 10 hour wait. This is just to much.
This review is for the mother baby unit. The Nurses and CNAs really made my 3 day stay comfortable! My morning nurse Denise helped me out so much with breastfeeding which I really appreciate! my nurses Dana and CNA Romona were great! I really liked how they treated me and my baby. Dana answered all my questions I had and was very knowledgeable!! Also the nurse Cassandra who prepared for csection was very good too!! Over all I had a excellent experience :)
Went into the er at 5 pm got out the next day at 5am. Staff spends too much time socializing about their personal lifes instead of paying attention to their patients
I'm not happy with, the service, very unprofessional, nurse's talking,to my husband not Profesional and one of the nurses, hurt my husband arm I'm very disappointed with this place ,and i need to this nurses doing following up stop calling my husband number I'm not recommended this hospital to my friends or family.
No one here ever knows anything. Its crazy how people dont where things are and they work here. Also really rude
I have suffered tremendous damage, pain, and ongoing health issues due to the incompetence of "doctors" and nurses here from neglect, misdiagnosed conditions, their lack of education and the fact that this hospital is chronically understaffed. No doctor should diagnose you using wikipedia, and last I checked registered nurses and nursing assistants have no authority to prescribe medications or diagnose serious medical conditions. Patients rooms should not be laundry or storage rooms. This hospital is filthy, the nursing staff are often too busy on their cell phones or gossiping to help even dying patients in the ICCU. No ones weekend or dating life should come before fatal injuries or illness. I wish I had better experiences to outweigh the bad, sadly it's the opposite. Their clinic, Visalia Medical Clinic is no better and has also done a tremendous amount of damage to me and my loved ones leaving us with shortened lives and terrible suffering. Their foundation doesn't seem able to find the best doctors and the patients pay for it in various ways.
My family has been in the care of KD and their staff more than several times. I just had another spinal surgery 5 days ago. I cannot express how amazing the stay and care was. The nursing, physician, anesthesiologist, cafeteria and volunteer staff has your best interest in mind and it's obvious. There were 5 nurses (Zoe, Laura, Kathy, Lupe, and Ramona) that *really* made our (my wife stayed every night) a pleasure and made what should have been an awful experience a positive one. Every step, from admission to the stay in the Broderick Pavilion, set the bar high for any hospital visit. I really wish there was more that I could do for my nurses because, good or bad, they are some of the most important people in your life, if only for a few days. Thank you so much, KD, for making our lives a little better in a big way.
I was going to the E R because I was have a Asthma attack.Got there they took me in.
I didn't wait not 1 minutes and the DC was treating me with Med for my Asthma.I guess I was lucky to get check out so fast.
The nurse are always talking about unnecessary conversation at work the wort wait un the world I was nearly 6-7 hour there I was so sick of everything in the hospital everything is so unorganized I went to a number to the ER and there was some Gloves in the floor there where sooo dirty and gross..The doctor are always saying a amount of time and it takes wayyyy longer and they end up telling u or giving u something that doesn t end up working at all...that is my opinion I can keep on going on and on but it would take me forever and I don t want to waist all of my time on this!!!!!!
I have had the unfortunate reason to visit Kaweah Delta s ED many times in the past 12 years. I deal with chronic migraines that at times, are so incredibly painful, that that best option is to go to the ED. The first one or two times my neurologist sent me. Over the years it became evident that sometimes a migraine would become so severe. That I needed the help of the ED. A few doctors have been kind. The majority have not been. They are annoyed that I would dare take up precious time and a sick bed for just a headache. The most humiliating of all. Was when someone on the staff at KDH ED talked to my neighbor about ,me, and how I have migraines too often. I honestly cannot remember the last time I went to the ED at KWDH.why would I? They have made it clear they will not help me, and worse, my private medical history is discussed amongst them and random people. No Thanks. I have found Tulare Hospital to be much more helpful.
37 years ago the woman I met and fell in love with was born at this hospital.
If I could give 1/2 a star to what I just witnessed I would. I have been to KDH off and on for many many years......and I am so disgusted by ONE resident doctor that has the worst attitude towards a single human being I have ever seen. This resident was so rude and disrespectful to this lady he never even respected her to give her an ounce of his PRECIOUS time. I know this place is crazy, but he acted like wanted to physically ignore her. I'm embarrassed that I witnessed him do this to another being.
I have lived and worked in the Visalia are since 1973 and have had several occasions to have family members in Kaweah and over all the care has been great. My mother, who is 94 is in Kaweah as I write is, and is receiving great care from the nurses.
Back in 2005 She had heart valve replaced and we have had several visits to the emergency room visits over the years and while the wait has been long, the care in the emergency room has always been good, the Drs and Nurses are always nice, caring and efficient.
Even though my family works here it has a few people that needs to fired for being rude
My girlfriend went in by ambulance with severe labor pains. Her nurse Stacey was very helpful. The doctor seemed to be very knowledgeable and kind. All staff including security gets 5 star rating from us.
Horrible place. Staff are more interested in ignoring patients than helping them.
If your looking to sit in a chair in a hallway.. That they call your room and bill the insurance as such... Ignore you completely and let you suffer in this place is for you. No privacyb not even a blanket.
This hospital is aimed at buying realestate and wasting money on everything except the people that help pay for it through our taxes... A pure disgrace and embarrassment to the valley.
But look at the bright side... At least we didnt get an infection like last time!
I am not going to lie. I read the one star reviews and heard the awful stories from different people about what a horrible place Kaweah is. I tried my best to avoid it at all costs. But this Thursday my baby had trouble breathing and I had no choice but to head to the nearest hospital which was Kaweah. I remember entering the hospital with great fear that my baby was not going to make it but what I saw was a hospital community come together to help my baby. My mother and I entered through the wrong department and I was numb with shock but after my mother yelled for help the check in lady helped her out, then the female security guard helped my mother carry the blanket and guided us to the proper department, then a team of more than seven people stood around my baby working hard to get her oxygen levels up because she was already blue and purple around the face. Don t remember any names but they were all amazing. They probably saved my babies life. Thank you so much to all of you we are eternally grateful.
Customer service is terrible.. this is my third child here and everytime they seem to break protocol and/or dont know what the proper way to do things. Forcing parent to expose themselves to 20 or more sick people in er then track the germs to newborn.. something has to be done to help the average person. If u have a problem speak up. Your voice will not be heard unless u use it and hold "profesionals" accountable for understanding professionals' responsibilities.. please speak up
I was beyond disgusted while my mother was staying in 3 south portion of the hospital the repulsive behavior of a pharmacy technician (I believe her name was Chelsea) not only made us feel very unconfortable, but made us lose trust in the capacity of the medical staff to care for my mother while there. So we stayed day and night by her side in order to ensure that the way Chelsea was doing things to, and treating her patient was isolated to how she presents herself as a medical professional. Constantly chatting about her husbands member size, messing with her acne on her face prior to interacting with patients and not washing her hands, her entire vibe was very sketchy and I feel so terrible for the patient who she was caring for because she stated multiple times that she hopes this ends so she can move around. Nothing is appealing about someone with a black nasty heart, sounds like she is bitter and in the wrong field because she s taking it out on the wrong people. People like Chelsea are why people hate kaweah, people like Chelsea are why people would rather die at home than to deal with people like her at hospitals, she is the stigma kaweah delta should strive to avoid.
Do not go to this hospital. All they do is put you in the hallway and forget about you. Got there at 1 pm it is now 7:20 pm. To get any answers you have find someone. What kind of hospital is this. This place need to be shut down. This is so sad I feel bad for the people that live in visalia. This place needs to get there act together. SO SAD.
I called to see if they had any updates on my brother who had surgery and due to covid -19 we can t be there , my mom has been really worry and marina was really rude she only said we need to wait to get a call . And she was really rude .
ER is filthy. Bathrooms are disgusting. Whole experience was chaotic. Wait times are insanely long. Felt like I would be better off at home.
Actually it was the worst experiace i have ever had at any Er hospital in the Cental valley. The hospital does lack bedside manner and sends in social workers in to see you before nursing staff and then not only that when you have been previously addmitted to one of their other facilities they ask your family to leave and keep you against your will and send you to the appropriate mental health facility for a 72 hr hold....not cool.
Wife went in about 4:30pm today. Got seen in the back around 6 was told they wouldn't give her medicine for the migraine headache she had bc I wasn't around. Take in mind we have twins that are 15months n a 5 year old. So I dropped her off. Anyways still haven't seen her is about 10. Staff doesn't have a sense of urgency. Talked to the sup or manager on duty. Still no help. I wouldn't recommend this place ever
Been at the hospital 12:30 last night waiting for them to do a ultrasound on my lady now it s 6:05 in the morning still here at the hospital what does works do all day
I got sick on a 30 day backpacking trip in the sierras, was flown out here and was immediately impressed by how kind, quick and smart all the doctors, nurses and technicians were. Best hospital I have ever visited.
I had my surgery on August 16 had a complication and had to have another surgery on the 17th. All the doctors and nurses we so good at keeping me calm as I went in for my second surgery. I stayed 7 days on the 3rd floor .There a few CNAs that could use some more training on people skills. One wore way to much perfume. Other than that the nurses and staff on the 3rd floor were so good and took great care of me. In September I ended up at the ER due to cather issues. I was there for almost 4 hours just to be told I had a UTI and sent home. My doctor who sent me to the ER called and told them to do something with my catheter and the ER doctor didn't do it. I love this hospital and the staff. I'm having another surgery there this month. The Emergency Room could use some work.
They stole my flash drives when they were keeping my belongings for the 8 hours they held me here
When I came to have my four babies this hospital was absolutely wonderful however today I am in urology my husband has kidney stones he is in surgery now they said the procedure would be 30 minutes and it's now been an hour I've asked the nurses for an update they routinely shrug me off Julie Mills her only response to me was they'll only let me know when something happens or when he's done basically telling me not to ask again I even asked the transport Denise if she knew if he was okay she did not even pause to look at me she walked and said i dont know I just dropped him off as she shrugged me off I can't believe how uncaring they are being
We recently moved all prescriptions from Walgreen's to the Kaweah Delta Out-Patient Pharmacy. The 'forthrightness' of Twong, pharmacist,? far exceeds any other pharmaceutical employee. He knows our names, once we enter, pleasant, kind, and professional. His knowledge and empathy of our conditions is incredible. Give this man, an applause.

ive been having a miscarriage for a month, one of the longest miscarriages the doctors all admit they've seen, yesterday my contractions and cramps started getting so bad I couldn't take it anymore so I went in trying to see if it's safe to wait for my D&C till Monday, after waiting almost 6 hours in the waiting room (typical), I'm sent to the back to be given some norcos and told there nothing they could do for me. Today I went back because the pains worse and the bleeding is (tmi) just pouring out of me, so the advice nurse said I need to go right in, where they express so much how much I've been there making it extremely embarrassing, and at first the doctor said for me not eat or drink anything I'll probably get a Emergancy D&C, so I'm sitting in the waiting room after seeing him from 1pm to 6:30pm doubled over in pain and not even able to take a sip of water, just to be taken to the back, given the most painful pelvic exam of my life by a student doctor, who didn't even warn me she was practicing by the real doctor and just let her practice on me in so much pain! And then told even though I'm heavily bleeding my blood work pretty much shows I'm ok so they can't do the Emergancy D&C and go home...so I just started bleeding this heavy, they didn't even keep me over night to see if my blood loss started effecting me by morning, instead I'm at home in the middle of the night terrified in pain and watching my bleeding get worse, knowing I can't go back in to be told I'm not bad enough again and sit in a awful waiting room 5 hours. I have to young kids at home, god forbid anything happens to me till Monday...(ps I've received absolute zero compassion or care from ANYONE at this hospital about my miscarriage and they're treating me like I'm this burden, who the heck is running this awful place?!)
