This was the best buying experience I have ever encountered. Doug Downey, my sales rep, took his time to show me all models of the Ram 1500 without the high pressure approach. I highly recommend working with this dealership. Thank you Doug for a great experience. I love my new Ram Truck!

Always the best Chrysler / Ram deal, San Diego to LA. I drive there from El Cajon because they have always been honest and helped me save money unlike the one in SD who tried to scam me.
The staff are always nice and the new car waiting area is always nice to go get a coffee and wait on a service with a huge TV and lounges.
If your sick of feeling duked and you just want a simple service, then I strongly recommend you visit this dealership even if it's extra commute time.

I have purchased two jeeps here and it was a smooth and painless process. Also had my car serviced many times and the process gets better every time I go. I got a tow hitch put on today and they drove me home and picked me up from my house with an Uber! When I showed up my Jeep was ready for pickup and washed for me!! Great service!

Very satisfying experience. Service manager took excellent care of us. They made a thorough check of my vehicle to discover the problem I was experiencing and fixed the vehicle to my satisfaction. I have full confidence in the service I receive at Jack Powell Chrysler.

I did lease my car from here, everything was great. However this last time I went in for service I was a little disappointed. I was told I can always call before I come in for an oil change to see how long the wait will be and I have and normally they are so good. Yesterday the woman who answered the phone did not help she said she couldnt get ahold of the service dept and shes sorry but they just arent answering. I've worked in a car dealership, I know you can step away from your desk for a moment and walk the 30 ft to the service dept and ask. Also they did not fill up the air in my tires upon rotating them I know because I know what they were at when I dropped it off and I have driven it about 30 miles so I know the system had a chance to catch up. Hopefully the next time I go back I dont encounter this again.

I have been going to Jack Powell since 2006 since I purchased my Dodge P.U. in 2015 I traded it in on a 2015 Dodge Journey and then in 2018I purchased a 2016 Chrysler 300C. All of that time I have had excellent service in the service department and have had others say the same thing. Yesterday I went in to get a replacement battery for my Dodge Journey and was met with a woman who said, "You know we will have to check it out to see if that is a correct statement." she wasn't even pleasant about it either. If fact she sounded a little rude to me. I told her and handed her a slip from AAA saying it had a bad cell. After 2 hours she came to me and said that there was nothing wrong with the battery. I told her abut the slip from AAA and she just ignored it. After going back and forth with this I told her I wanted a new battery. She told me in no uncertain term that I would have to pay for it. PERIOD! I was really taken back with her attitude and remarks. When I went to pay for the new item she said it was much more that the last one I purchased. I said "have you checked for a good customer discount?" At that time she called the person who put it in and said "this guy wants a discount. She hung up the phone and said no. With that I paid and went on my way. Then I turned around and went to the salesman that I was sorry and the I would no longer purchase a car from Jack Powell. (FYI, I was looking at a new Dodge Durango.)
If I got an apology from the service department and a parcial refund, I would reconsider......

Took my truck in for a repair. The folks here were very friendly. Kept me informed during the process. Kyle was my service advisor. He's a cool guy. Very polite and friendly easy to talk to. Dang rats had chewed on my power and control wires. Basically the 2 wires it takes to have a running and operating vehicle. Even for a dealership they had very reasonable prices. They price matched parts from other dealers. It was a great experience. I am a fan of dealership repairs and service. Yes you pay more. But you are paying for a mechanic who is familiar with your vehicle, you pay for parts that are engineered for your vehicle.

Good service by the very friendly service advisor, but my immaculate new vehicle had grease marks & dirty fingerprints & a couple of scuffed wheels which weren't on the vehicle pre-service. I had to spend a good hour cleaning all the grease marks on the door panels. Fortunately, I covered the steering wheel & seats with my own disposable plastic covers.

Bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee at Bob Baker car country Carlsbad. What a mistake that was. Wish I had bought it at Jack Powell. Their dealership is legit. They have the best customer service I have ever seen. I will forever be bringing my Jeep here for maintenance and other purchases. The seating area in the lounge is comfortable and clean. This is an updated review as some events have transpired since I purchased my vehicle. I had an out of state, paid-off trade-in. I should have never left the dealership without those plates. My previous state received notification that my insurance was cancelled since I traded in the car and because they never received the plates, they suspended my DL.

I contacted and spoke with a woman named Stephanie who is apparently supposed to handle their DMV services. She never followed through and never got back to me until I sent a scathing email to my salesperson. Her response was it was your responsibility to get those plates and the car has already been sent to auction. Um, thanks?

I am STILL waiting for a phone call from the manager of this dealership - I won t hold my breath.

At the end of the day, I learned to always take my plates, but as a consumer business, the dealership has some level of due diligence to ensure situations like this don t happen to their customers. Clearly Jack Powell Dodge doesn t really care about that, and Stephanie, well just bless your heart.

I've been coming here for service for a few years,...

I've been coming here for service for a few years, primarily for oil changes and recall work, and had no complaints. However, this last time I thought showed their true colors, and was the worst experience I've ever had at a dealership. It was also the first time I came to Jack Powell for something other than maintenance.
A few days before, my Durango started hesitating while accelerating, and the check engine light came on. I had an OBD II scanner and checked the trouble code when I got home. It threw out 0304, which meant cylinder 4 was misfiring. My first thought was that it was just the spark plugs, since I've never changed them from when I bought the vehicle new, over 110k miles ago.
At first everything went smoothly. They told me they were going to check it out and give me a loaner. After a couple of days without hearing anything, however, I started to get a little anxious. I called and left a message. The advisor called me back shortly after and told me they need my permission to tear down the engine. They think it has something to do with the cylinder itself. I asked incredulously, "Are you SURE it's not the spark plugs? I've never had them changed." The advisor assured me that it wasn't and that the technician needs to tear down the engine at a cost of $1,000. I told them I have the unlimited warranty and said fine, if it's NOT the plugs, then I guess you have my permission.
Fast forward to a few days later with no word back. I called several times, left messages. Still nothing. Finally, the advisor called back and told me if I had time to talk. Of course I do! Well, she told me there are a couple of issues. They did a compression test and didn't find anything, so the technician is going to change the plugs. But unfortunately, I would be on the hook for the $1000 teardown. I was beside myself, almost yelling into the phone. "I ASKED you twice if it was the spark plugs and you told me no both times! I shouldn't have to pay for the unnecessary teardown, which costs one grand and seven days of time. And what about the loaner? Am I responsible for this as well?" She said that she 'understood', but couldn't do anything about it. She could do something about the loaner though.
I hung up and called the MOPAR warranty center. The operator was very friendly, telling me that anything related to the engine is covered. But unless the dealership fixed something in the engine when they tore the engine down, they could not cover the costs. I understood this but told them they did this unnecessarily to gouge me when the only thing wrong was the plugs, which I mentioned to them BEFORE they did any work. The operator asked me if I gave them permission and I said that I did, but only AFTER they assured me it wasn't the plugs. The operator then told me that no one from the dealership called. WTF??!
I called the advisor back and told her that either they fix something in the engine to have it covered under the warranty or remove the charge from my invoice completely. I also mentioned that the warranty center never received a call from anyone at the dealership, so how can she say nothing was covered?? She said she understood and would call them. After a few minutes she called back and said nothing was covered. I told her it was and then gave her the number. She then said she didn't have this number. "Then who the f&*# did you call??" I wanted to ask (but didn't).
After a while, she called back and said that yes, the radiator would be covered and that she would remove the charge, but that she would have to charge me for 2 days of rental, since I had the loaner for 7 days. BUT THE ONLY REASON I HAD IT FOR A WEEK IS BECAUSE YOU GUYS SCREWED UP, TURNING A SIMPLE SPARK PLUG PROBLEM INTO A WEEK OF UNNECESSARY WORK. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?!
In the end, wanting to just get it over with, I agreed to pay for the 2 days of rental, spark plug change, and deductible for warranty work. The total came to just under $500, which is ridiculous. Needless to say I'll be going to another dealership for service in the future. Beware of Jack Powell Dodge!

Military family review....We had the worst and mos...

Military family review....We had the worst and most dreadful experience purchasing a car.
The car salesman hounded us and breathed down our neck into buying this car. Yes, its our mistake for going ahead and purchasing it. But, it was hard to make a decision buying a car when DON was literally staring at us and pressuring us. We even asked him for more time and the guy said, "No you have had enough time- we gave you a good deal now say yes!"
Don knew nothing about Jeeps FYI. Good thing we did.
Also, we are from out of state... apparently CA has a no cooling off period on purchasing a car. We were told none of this information. Legally they are supposed to have it posted in the dealership- and at no point did I see this.
So we ended up buying this vehicle because it was my husbands "dream" car. They were so rude to us and rushed us out. I instantly wanted to give this car back- but again CA has that no cooling off period. DON and CHRISTIAN were so incredibly rude to us. So we took the damn thing home. The next day we had to trade it in to get the "bad taste" out of our mouth from spending money at this rotten dealership.
We went to GMC across the road and traded the Jeep for a GMC Terrain. BEST CHOICE EVER!
Then we received a letter from Jeep saying we have to return the Jeep because they didn't set us up with a financial. (their fault!) TOO late the damn thing isn't ours anymore! Go look at it from across the street!
Very unorganized, unprofessional, and rude.
They claim to treat military families wonderfully....WRONG!
I never even want to purchase a chrysler, jeep or dodge ever again because of these people.
ALSO it took them 2 weeks to pay off our trade in. So a car we still technically owned was sitting in their lot. We threatened to seek legal action and they finally sent over a check. We are still in the process of finding out if it has gone through. What a hassle. Stay away MARINES!

This was the best car buying experience we have ever had. We were in and out, papers signed, license plates on in less than two hours. Nick was easy to work with, and I ended up with a unicorn of a car (almost too good to be true car) as a first car for my daughter. We will be returning customers.

I have just moved here from Texas and had transmission problems from the drive out. They were able to fix it quickly and for a super low price! In addition, they found several recalls that needed to be replaced and provided me a rental car for three days while they did so. All of the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely buy my next car from Jack Powell! Highly recommended.

Very high pressure. We had talked about what we were looking for and budget over the phone and via email before we went to look at one specific vehicle. When we arrived we were shown an absolute beater. The sales man couldn't answer many of our questions but kept talking. It was almost comical. He then tried to get is to look at new jeeps and how what we were looking for didn't exisit. We finally had to say "thank you, but we're leaving now" with more than one salesman talking at us until we got in our car and shut the door. We have since found exacly what I was looking for (under budget ).

I called the day before my appointment to set it up. I was trading in my 2008 Cadillac to see what I could get back and see what they have available. Jose helped me from the initial phone call to the final goodbye. He sat with us for hours finding the best possible solution, most budget friendly option, and making sure we were comfortable. His sales experience was in NO WAY "car salesman" type of feel. He was personable and realistic, you could truly tell he was interested in what was best for us. I am extremely excited with my new Jeep purchase and I know that when I need service, Jack Powell dealership will be the first place I go. Thank you Jose and Jack Powell for such an incredible experience!

I would highly recommend Daniel Gillalombardo as your salesperson. He made me feel very welcome at the dealership from the minute I got there. Little bit different car buying experience without having all of the pressure of a normal dealer. I went in looking for a particular vehicle and we were able to get a deal completed without a lot of hassling back and forth. Very smooth transaction from the sale all the way through the financing office. I really enjoyed working with everyone at the dealership.

Great experience. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about their product. They were able to work with my budget without sacrificing the vehicle I had wanted for so long. A week after I purchased my new Jeep I got to take it off road. I had a blast and am so happy with my experience at Jack Powell. One of the staff owns a Jeep wrangler and told me where to go for off road fun. I think it s great to know Jack Powell has staff that truly loves Jeeps. I highly recommend going there.

I observed my vehicle the entire time that it was at the dealership for a recall. I observed a tech enter the vehicle where a program update was completed with his cell phone. Upon completion I observed him to drive my vehicle around front and park it with in a minute. Upon check out I was given a check out sheet showing the condition of my vehicle tire wear, fluids ect. How can you check the fluid levels, if you never raise the hood. How can you tell me my tire wear, if you don't stop and measure each tire. How can I trust this dealership to complete the big
projects correctly, if they don't do the little things at all. I can't!!!!!!!! and
they removed my cell phone link from my car when they used their phone.

We purchased a new Ram 2500 Diesel a couple weeks ago. I could not be more happy with the service and deal we received from the staff at Jack Powell. Jonathan Casselman and Alonzo Alcocer were outstanding! These trucks are expensive and as a buyer choosing the right dealership is just as important as choosing the right vehicle. There were a few things that needed to be addressed with the truck after the sale and they took care of it with know issues. I m sure the truck will provide with many years of trouble free ownership. I will definitely shop Jack Powell the next time we purchase a vehicle for anyone in our family. Thank you again.

Bought an RV camper with Dodge RAM Promaster 3500...

Bought an RV camper with Dodge RAM Promaster 3500 chassis. At about a little over 2000 miles, while we were on our third road trip, we heard noises coming from the rear wheels. We thought we had a flat a the time but nothing. When we came to a park about 2 miles away, we parked and used the parking brake but when we started to leave, the parking brake stuck and so we had to tow it to Jack Powell Dodege. Basically my wife and i were stranded a hundred miles from our home and this dealer was our only option. The dealer inspected the brake 10 days later and said that it was my fault that i left the parking brake on while driving. What an absurd accusations! No matter how i explained to them that we didn't and obviously there must be something wrong with the brake system where it must had engaged all the 2000+ miles since we purchased it and so it must cover by warranty. We even asked the dealer to investigate but they dismissed my request immediately. And even though car only had 2,500 miles on it but they would NOT even consider the warranty repair on it. Obviously, the dealer is in the business of getting money and we were not any exception. We ended up had to pay for the repair which totaled to $2,500. We also had to rent a car one way home and again rented a car a month later to come and pick it up. It's only been a day since the repair was done but i hear noises coming out of the wheel like the time before the parking brake locked up. Will have to take it to another dodge dealer near my house to check it out as this has been how it all started in the first place. I would never recommend this dealer nor the product to any of the people i come across from this point on. Poor quality and even worse, not standing behind the product with warranty.

Showed up at lunch time so the express service line was backed up. Not an issue it was lunch time and a day before a holiday. I had what I suspected was a battery issue. They tested the system to verify the issue was in fact my batteries which was going to cost me roughly $400 just for batteries (that is cost of just parts). It was my batteries, they called me and quoted me $414 for them to replace. That was total cost parts and labor. So I had dealer replace the batteries. Total wait time would have been 2hrs (I had a ride so I left). Overall great experience with great customer service.

Recalled vehicle. Powell's 3rd party scheduler reserved a day that Powell wasn't aware of TWICE! Kelly (who's AWESOME, Amr good job) and the lead tech who was apparently the only mechanic in San Diego county who knows how to work on my vehicle, thumbs up. Was told I could get a loaner, then told I lived too far away. The vehicle's battery was dead twice in 2 weeks after the recall. Had to take it back to Powell. Scheduled a 7:30 appointment on a Saturday. Came back at 11 and the vehicle hadn't even been looked at. Why the appointment again? The tech was honest enough to tell me he couldn't tell me what was wrong with the vehicle.
No charge to me, but this recall cost me nearly two days of time and round trip mileage of 60 miles. Not all Powell's fault, but definitely way less than positive experience.

Two months ago I took my car in due to my brakes making screeching noise every time I pull up my emergency brakes as well as when I turn my car off. The dealership ordered my parts replaced the Actuator on my brakes and the noise came back within the two months it was replaced. Took my car back last Wednesday and Chris who worked on my car two months ago stated that there s a defect on the part and he doesn t know what is going on and if it will happen again. They ordered the same part and I just got my car back yesterday and it seems like nothing was fixed. It s getting to the point where I feel as though they re playing with me and saying the issue was fixed when it wasn t. Matt who is the service manager stated to me yesterday that it shouldn t happen again and they test drove it and there was no sound which is weird because the sound doesn t come from driving which I now know I was being lied to.I feel as though they re rushing and nothing is being done right. Now I have to call set up another service appointment just for them to order another part and for it to happen again. I m at the point where I don t want this car anymore as well as I don t feel comfortable driving it. The dealership is liable and nothing has been done about this. I m just going to call corporate.

Brought my jeep in for it's 96k maintenance plus replacing all fluids (transmission, oil , transfer case, front/rear dif) and rear brakes. He even called Enterprise rental and asked them to pick me up. I go to Jack Powell because things get done correctly and every one in service have been great to work with.

My experience with this place is that it personifi...

My experience with this place is that it personifies everything people hate about dealerships. My husband inquired about a vehicle. He was bombarded with emails, including one with a quote, and another tacky one "I saw you opened my email, but you haven't replied yet!"... Where only a few hours had passed and my husband was busy in a combat zone somewhere in the Middle East. The "guaranteed offer" that came back was crazy low for the vehicle, but since supposedly it was "guaranteed for 72 hours" he asked me to drive up. So I did. We were hoping for either a miracle or a good deal on or trade in for the epic fail. He emailed back, and the dealer said to come down. I called her the next morning on my way, and asked her if the vehicle was there and at the price of the invoice. She swore it was and they would have it pulled up for me. I was more than half way there (longer drive) when I received a new offer on my cell phone. It didn't match the one from the previous night. I called her out on it, and she said it was a mistake and offered to fill up my tank and give me some oil vouchers. Super, the giant truck I was driving was down to less than a quarter. The story could have ended there, and it would have been alright. But of course, she has to wedge in a lie that she sent a corrected email that we just didn't open which was a flat out LIE. But then I asked about the trade in since I drove up. Email chick dealer kind of disappeared and was replaced by a guy that I assume was her superior and another dude in a suit that apparently was in charge of the current dealership mafia at the time. Fast forward a really long wait, they offered me the lowest price possible on my vehicle (ha) and the highest price possible on theirs. When asked what price it would take, I told them it would take the guaranteed one from the previous email. The guys response was the equivalent of "you were stupid enough to think we would offer that" where in reality it's more like "you run a crappy enough business to not proof offers before sending." I showed it to the "boss" as well, and his response was a similar "what the hell are you and your husband a thinking?" I told him that my husband was in a combat zone and under a lot of stress, and I was just there to buy the car for the "guaranteed price" they offered. Anyway, if you'd like to get lied to, treated like you are insane for calling them out on their "guarantees", and lots of other sketchy stuff, I highly recommend this place. All the bullcrap of standard dealerships and then some. Read the service department reviews as well....apparently they "excellence" continues there.

My service advisor Kyle is what keeps me coming back. After 2 years of ownership I m having my first concern with my truck. Kyle and the service team at Powell, with their sincere professionalism, have made an difficult diagnosis and situation, a little less painful. If you're planning on buying a Car, Go to Carlsba...

If you're planning on buying a Car, Go to Carlsbad Bob Baker for any Dodge car. You will get a better deal than Jackpowell. Jackpowell ripped me off with the price.

This is the issue that I got into with Jackpowell. I bought a charger car 3 weeks ago, July 3, 2018. I was supposed to go Bob Baker Carlsbad for the 2019 Charger with a price 0f 29,900.
Jackpowell doesn't have the same Car, so Jackpowell told that they will get it from Carl Burger. I agree to get that car instead of going to Carlsbad, I told them that it should be the same price as Carlsbad for 29,900.

Guess what I just check the documents I signed on the copy they gave me saved on a USB card. Jackpowell charge me 32,300 for the V6 Charger.
Jackpowell didn't inform me of the price that they will charge me. They just let sign us all the documents and let me and my son waited for 6 hours to get the Car. Jackpowell went to Carl Burger to get the ridiculous price.

Jack Powell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the only place we take our cars for maintenance and service, not all are Chrysler products. The service is top notch and thoughtful. 5 stars in my book.

Brought my Jeep in after a failed attempt to fix it at Poway Jeep. Jeep was fixed within 10 days, excellent service. Hats off to Michael, he was courteous and knowledgeable. Also kept us updated almost daily. I highly recommend JP if you're in North County.

This dealership single handedly has shown me car d...

This dealership single handedly has shown me car dealerships and the car buying process can not be trusted. My story started 2 months ago when I originally went in to look at a car I found on Truecar via a promotion through Lyft. I went there to look at the car that I was interested in. The salesman put me and my wife through the process ultimately telling me we weren't approved. The next day a friend had told me about a CDRJ dealership that would be able to get me approved on a car so I went to talk to them. That dealership had told me that they could get me into a car and suggested I come back a few days later. After speaking to that dealership I was emailed by the sales manager at Jack Powell CDJR asking me about my experience so I was forthcoming and told him what I had found. As I had purchased a car from Jack Powell CDJR before I wanted to give them a chance to retain my loyalty. He urged me to come in and after a few days I was told I was approved so I came in with my $9000 and my trade in, which was financed. I had the new vehicle for a month and even put a $300 teflon coating on the paint. After that month I was called and told we had to return the vehicle because the financing didn't happen. Because of this the car I traded in wasn't paid for 30 days because I was told the deal was done. This of course also lowered our credit scores. Not only that, I of course took that car off of my insurance and because nothing was done with the DMV, the registration was suspended so when I returned the new car I couldn't even drive my trade in off the lot. When I confronted them on this matter, I was told they would make things right and they would get me into a new car. A few days later I was told again they got us into a new car and we took delivery of the car. Now three weeks later we are getting called again to again face the embarrassment of returning the second car. Additionally, now were are that much further behind on our payments on our trade in, our credit scores have been affected even worse, and still the registration on my trade is is suspended so I still won't be able to drive it off the lot until I spend a day at the DMV and pay the fee to reinstate it. After all of this I am out the DMV fees, $300, and an unknown amount of income because of how much time this process has taken from my work. I don't know what you would call it but I call it bull.

Just bought our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee yesterday and it was the easiest process we have ever had buying a new vehicle. First time we've basically bought a car over the telephone! Our salesman was Art Paine and he was very professional, yet very easy to work with. After we picked out the vehicle of our choice, he negotiated the price we wanted and had Abraham confirm over the phone. Picked it up the next morning! Definitely will buy from Jack Powell Chrysler Jeep again!

Omar, service coordinator at the front desk is wonderful and service is fast. However, Mathew, service manager could have been a little more understanding and friendly towards a previous issue I had with a recall. Technicians damaged my dashboard after an airbag recall service and took no responsibility for it and was being rude. Only reason I keep coming back is because of Omar but would not deal ever again with Mathew.

I was looking into trading in my 2014 Durango for a new model and while other dealers where not making it happen, I received an E-mail from Kingston on a new 2016 Durango set up an app to go in to meet with him, Introduced me to Ash & Ronald and I must say they are just all the best. They made it happened gave me the payments that I was looking for trading in my 2014 Durango. I must say that Ash'es crew made it happened and I left the dealership happy with my 2016 Limited Durango. Thank you guys for the great services will definitely be recommending ppl to your dealership.

There was nothing fast about their Fast Oil Change. After waiting in the line for 52 minutes, I went from being fourth in line to third in line. During that wait, one of the service writers took the gentlemen doing the oil changes off that job to rotate the tires on a couple of other Jeeps.

They did finally get me a Uber back to work, but I had to get my own Lyft back to the dealership to pick up my Jeep from receiving a "Fast Oil Change" Needles to say, I won't be back for their "Fast Oil Change"

I've been bringing my 2012 Jeep Wrangler for over two years. The service department, and I have to mention Amr Ismail in particular, have always been very helpful and efficient in resolving the few issues the Jeep'd had so far. Great customer service as well.
