The Golden Gate bridge was not only on my bucket list but was something I had been wanting to do for a very long time. I was not disappoint. It was an amazing experience. I would encourage anyone with a chance to go to go.

I enjoyed my visit to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was busy at noon on a Friday in July, that's to be expected. it was obviously too busy for bikes since most riders had to get off and walk it. Warning to those who rent bikes, it may not be worth it. I only walked from the south side to near the first bridge tower. Perhaps it is less crowded farther along the bridge.

My wife and i tried to walk the west side of the bridge. The reason it is not crowded is because it is always closed to pedestrians, and open only on weekends by bikes. Bike rental might be more helpful on weekends!

I enjoyed the displays of bridge technology all around the bridge visitor area, from airflow to bridge suspension. Nice interactive models for younger and older to understand bridges!

The view on the trail west of the bridge is pretty with some small overlooks to take pictures from. All the walking trails were very well maintained, with crosswalks designated for pedestrians across bike paths.

Breathtaking view of the bridge. There's a visitor centre nearby where you can get the "iconic" shot of the bridge as well. Make sure you check the weather for a good day to visit, as fog can cover the bridge pretty well!

Great walk across the bridge. We had nice views as it was a clear day. It gets windy and we lost our hat to the Bay. Both sides have bathrooms though the south were pretty dirty. The North were clean and a shorter line. Worth the walk the views are some of the best of the City.

I can't seem to conjure up anything more iconic than the Golden Gate Bridge every time I think of good ol' San Francisco. This amazingly built bridge, around three miles long, has been placed as a historic icon and one the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco. It has also been declared as one of the wonders of the modern world. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

The bridge is not only the most photographed bridge in the world, but also quite functional. With daily commuters, tourists, and locals alike, this bridge is sturdily made for bike riding, walking, jogging, and running, at all times of the day.

My friends once came to visit, leaving with regret not to see the whole bridge because of heavy fog during the week. I took her to the place where Alfred Hitchcock shoot Vertigo. It is just another perfect spot to take a picture with the bridge no matter the weather is good or not.

A bike ride across the bridge can be fun. Just be careful when approaching Sausalito, that period of bike lane (technically no bike lane) is very close to cars. Take a ferry back to the city, enjoy another view of the bay.

If you ever get a chance to ride a helicopter, which my uncle did one time when he was still a journalist, he got tons of amazing photos of the bridge.

One of the objects that symbolizes America: the Golden Gate to the Golden State. Of course both names come from the '49ers migrating to California in search of the rumored gold; a bit like the myth of El Dorado. Of course, too, the Golden Gate isn't really a gate at all, it's a bridge, a really ginormous bridge. It's not just the span, it's also its height. Not sure how high up it is, but I'm sure the designers had battleships destined for the San Fran naval base in mind when designing it. Alas, at least for the war hungry, the US navy has pretty much pulled up its tent from San Fran. So. Height doesn't really matter anymore, though it gives quite the panoramic view of San Fran bay.
I've been over the bridge by car several times. I always wondered what would happen if a car broke down in the middle of one of these big bridges, but I haven't seen it happen yet. I suppose it would be a cataclysmic disaster. Even by car, it's still a long drive. When I was travelling on the bridge, traffic was very light. The toll is rather pricey.

Anyway, I'd bet San Fran's rusty color painted bridge is right up there with the Hollywood sign as one of California's most identifying landmarks. If you like bridges, or like touristy stuff, or just need to get somewhere in spite of a hefty toll, check it out.

Remember if it's nice weather in Sacramento, it's usually foggy in San Francisco. Couldn't see the bridge. But too fun to listen to the sounds of the boats coming in and out of the bay from the top. Different experience for sure!

Beautiful place to run or walk. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge!!! What an experience!!!

Walking across the bridge is an absolute must of "things to do" when in town. I only walked half way across, as suggested by a worker at the visitors center. It was just enough. It was pure fun! The view is amazing. Photography is difficult in many sections due to the wire fence (to keep you from jumping?) but there are enough open areas for photography needs. You can also ride a bike across with clearly marked bike/walking paths. I went independently (no tour group) using public transport. It was easy and fast.

Breathtaking achievement of human development. Worth seeing and experiencing in person. Small but very informative exhibit about the history of its construction is next to the visitor center.

Walked the bridge on a very foggy morning. Still worth it. Enjoyed the experience. May do it again when I have time to walk it both directions on a more clear day when I'm visiting.

The site to view is awesome but be careful about the Toll. I went through and they grabbed my photo and sent me the toll charge and I thought I paid it online but a month later they charged me a late fee. Had to contact them over the phone to fix it.

Completed in 1937 the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California is one of the most famous bridges in the world and, at the time of its construction, was the longest suspension bridge in the world, with a total length of 2.7km (8,981ft).
It had long been thought that to build a bridge at the location would be impossible due to strong currents, the depth of water in the Golden Gate Strait and the regular occurrence of strong winds and fog.
Construction finally began in January 1933 and the bridge was finished four years later in April 1937.

It Is defintely worthy to have a walk on it by starting from the Golden gate welcome visite ceter. Also, cruiser that peace from Pier 39 go directory under the bridge and around Alcatraz fortress for 34 USD.

The bridge is awesome! Torpedo wharf right next to it has really good views and trails. We crossed the bridge in our car but on the way back there are tolls and it looked like it was around 8-9dollars to cross back.

The Golden Gate is knowm around the globe for a reason ! The views of , and from the bridge are breath taking. It's looking a little beat up as of late but that's not going to cost it a star. If you are in the area you must visit...to me it's not an option !

I went on Saturday and I didn't know that the transit for bikes&scooters is moved to the left line (view from SF) and the right line is restricted to pedestrians. Google maps set me the route through the right line. A policeman stop me and make me walk.
The bridge is safe. I saw 2 or 3 guards across the entire bridge. The views are great.
I rent an GoX scooter for the entire day and crossed the bridge with it. Then I return (with the scooter) in a Ferry from Sausalito.
The website of the Golden Gate Ferry says no e-bikes are allowed. But they didn't object the electric scooter I bring.

Once called "the bridge that couldn't be built", San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge is the city's second entry in the top 10 and attracts between nine and ten million visitors every year. Known for its orange colour, the suspension bridge crosses from the city to the Marin headlands for nearly two miles and has been linking the two since 1937.

The pictures do not do it justice. This place is so beautifull. Good luck catching it on a good day like i did. Its usually really foggy. If you go to the tourist stop off the highway there is hardly any parking. You will be driving around in circles for 20 mins before u find a spot. Bring a hair tie and coat it does get chilly

Spectacular views. Very long and awesome to bicycle across. Weekends and especially holiday's you can expect massive crowds in the form of pedestrians and cyclists. If you are a avid cyclist beware: the rent-a-bike cyclists and out of town tourist pedestrians have no clue how to behave or share the small path allotted for non-cars. Still highly recommended to bicycle across on a sunny day.
