Great views if not cloudy. Windy, bit chilly mostly. Watch out for bicyclists. Took my service dogs with me and we had a lovely walk.

Nothing to obstruct view
Far too many cycles
Beautiful place to visit and take a hike. A lot of tourist around
I mean it s probably the most iconic bridge in the history of ever.
Foggy treasure...so cool to walk across couldn't see the top very windy but beautiful
What an experience! A must see! I highly suggest you visit. We toured with the Big Bus and learned a lot about the bridge.
Possibly the most beautiful and certainly the most photographed bridge in the world, Golden Bridge was at the time of its opening in 1937 both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 4,200 feet and a total height of 746 feet. Today, the Golden Gate Bridge remains the tallest bridge in the United States. Beautiful to see in the morning or in the evening, with colors, fog and background changing colors.
The place is awesome. But be careful, someone broke into our car and stole all the stuff. And later we learned it happens there often.
Golden Gate Bridge was one of the iconic buildings of San Francisco that were built in 1933. You could take excellent photos in this area, and there are a lot of souvenirs available at the store nearby.
Love the view from the bridge. It's a bit windy on the bridge.
World famous beautiful ,every one must sea in his life
Was extremely cold but was worth every minute of it!
We drove southbound across the bridge and paid our toll online. It was almost $9. Alcatraz tours and other boat tours are closed due to Covid.
What else can one say about this great structure? Most people only walk out to the first pillar. I highly recommend walking all the way across and back. Just know that it's very windy and the bridge moves a bit.
Amazing views and we had the pleasure of seeing dolphins beneath us
Great place to visit sight seeing and walking exercise for the family.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world."[8] It opened in 1937 and was, until 1964, the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,280 m). (Wikipedia)
My story, I was in here in 30 August 2014
Good hike. Great monument. Historic sites around. Great view from the parks.
Obviously you have to go here if you're in San Francisco because its just such a huge landmark. Just be aware that the bike/walking traffic is INSANELY busy!
My wife and I love San Francisco, and if you come here and you don't visit the famous Golden Gate Bridge... Your visit here was incomplete.
Had a blast. There is a charge for crossing the bridge. They mail it to you and this can be a pain if you are put of state. I got mine after it was due and got a fine.
I've been around the Bay area for around 6 years, but the Golden Gate Bridge while iconic is usually never the same for all the trips I made there with my buddies. Be it day or at night, it always has a different dress to parade.
A very good place to take a picture ,it has a museum around the bridge that tells the history about the golden gate Bri and you can take the bus 82 to the 39 pier it has cute sea lion and good sour bread clam chowder soup.
What a wonderful experience to walk across this bridge. I have walked over it at least 40 times in the last 14 years that I have walked the breast cancer walks. I have an especially enjoyable time walking with my 'walking wife' Barbara Jo. On one trip, we ran across a young fellow that was over the railing, standing facing the water, and was contemplating jumping, I grabbed his shirt and with the help of others, lifted him back over the railing and marched him into the hands of the police. I have often wondered what happened to the young guy, he was only 21.
They don't let pedestrians walk the bridge at night. Only bikers. Always fun to see the bridge tho.
Amazing to see, worth walking or cycling over to get the scale of it.
I visited this bridge on a Saturday afternoon with my family, a large group of people. Finding parking was a bit of a hassle this place was packed as it seemed to be prime traffic time. We walked across and & was packed with people, the walk back was less crowded which was around 5pm. The views are great & you can get amazing pictures. The bridge had mist towards the top & it provided a great view as you walk right under it. Overall it was an amazing time despite the large crowd.
It's a bridge. A lot of people probably use it to commute or get somewhere. It looks nice, but at the end of the day it's a bridge. Getting there takes a while because of all the people trying to take pictures and what not, and the park near to it is really packed. I wouldn't say it's a must see at all, but some people like this sort of thing. I thought you could see it just fine from alcatraz, which was a much more interesting tourist spot.
Obviously you cannot say you've seen San Francisco unless you've drove and walked the golden gate bridge. Absolutely a bucket list destination and worth while sight. The view from the Marin side is amazing with beautiful shots of San Francisco silhouette. If you have the time, make sure to check it out in the evening and nightfall. The view point parking lot allows you to stay over night, so if you brought some blankets, go a head and sleep here for the night.
The perfect place for beautiful pictures and sunsets
beautiful bridge in picture, even better to see it for real...
Great view and amazing shots, especially if you catch it with fog. Shows how beautiful the Bay Area can be.
Scenic beauty... Engineers must visit place to understand the science behind suspension bridge..
Most iconic attraction in San Francisco, make sure to come when the fog rolls out for best view...sometimes you can catch the fog covering parts of the bridge, makes for artistic photos! You can also bike or walk it from one end to the other...bring water and a jacket incase its windy!
Beautiful, but note that it closes at sundown for pedestrians who want to walk across it.
Amazing views of the Bay from this iconic bridge. Definitely recommend renting a bike to use the bike side of the bridge - it's easier to get to the middle of the bridge and there are fewer people vying for a photo spot
What an experience will never forget standing near to this world icon
Such an amazing thing to see. Would love to go again and explore some more.
It is absolutely beautiful here. From the visitors center to the fort underneath to walking the bridge, I was in complete awe the whole time. A true once in a lifetime experience!
Breathtaking, smaller in person than I thought it would be
Views from the bridge is really awesome. Check out the making and history of the bridge.
It s been 30 years since I was last in San Francisco and as a keen photographer, I ve always carried a sense of unfinished business with the Golden Gate.
So in planning our visit in September 2019 I was determined to view the bridge from as many different perspectives as I could manage in a relatively short period of time. I ve yet to download all the images from my various cameras but these phone snaps give a little flavour of her magnificence. I ll try not to leave my next visit so long next time!
Saw the Golden Gate Bridge from the small vessel that takes you there via Alcatraz Island. We went right under the bridge.
Absolutely incredible sight to see in person
The icon of all things San Francisco related, there's nothing like driving over this beast. The direction you cross it determines what views you're going to get. You come in from the north you see the city, south you see the bay and mountains. There's a rest area you're going to want to get out at on the north side of the bridge that has all the best views of the city in one shot. The added bonus is when the fog rolls in and creates a natural postcard photo. The bridge is walkable, but wear the right clothes!
Another "must see" in San Francisco! I recommend to drive to the visitor center with muni-bus. You can walk over the bridge and take some nice photos. You can also walk on the hill on the other side and take some photos.
If you want to visit, go after sun down. The bridge is only accessible to people riding bikes after 9pm. Bring a bike and ring the bell at the gate for access and enjoy a night ride with out all of the tourists and people crowding the walkway. Dress warm regardless of year it's always windy at the bridge. The racoons are active in numbers at least 7 or 8 climbing into the various trash cans. Do not feed the raccoons you could possibly expose yourself to rabies.if they get too close a loud noise will scare the raccoons away.
Walked the bridge and it was beautiful. Just don't forget your jacket as high winds and temperatures in 60s.
Had to do this! If in San Francisco, stop and see! Amazing structure! Lots of different areas to walk, view (on and around), picnic, etc
There are sights that look better in life than online and ones that look worse in life than online. The Golden Gate Bridge in life looks exactly the way it looks in its photos.
As gorgeous as you read about in books and magazines! Kind of surreal to be standing there looking out at such an icon. Take the time to look for the workers on the bottom side of the bridge; it really helps put the scale into perspective!
Beautiful historic place but I would recommend visiting during the day.
Incredible experience! You have to see it in person if you have not been there!
You can't beat this, we walked 20km from the middle of the city to the centre of the bridge. It really doesn't matter how many times I've have been to SF before, I always make a point if heading to the bridge. I have enjoyed all types of weather on the bridge, from clouds to sun to fog. It's truly one of my favourite things to do!
What an icon!!! I thought it was longer but it did not put me down. We walked all the way to Sausalito and even came across a police officer carefully watching a potential jumper.
We saw cruise ships sailing by, seals, dolphins and sea lions from the bridge. It was a bit misty and it only added up to the great experience.
I love the Golden Gate Bridge. It's beautiful to walk or bike across, and I love the Marin side of it. It's free to drive north,, out of SF but you do have to pay a toll heading south, back into the city. Best (easiest) to pay in advance online, but you can bring cash, or pay online afterwards, based on your license plate number.
It s a great place for tourist.
A lot of history behind it.
Romantic too
Beautiful place loved the views, we made beautiful memories there.
A classic sight seeing destination. Never disappoints.
Not enough parking. Drove around Found free parking with a little walk. Didnt like the chain linked fence blocking views. Worth the wait to park for the great pictures and views.
Legendary place. Nice view, great feeling but to crowded
The trails around the park were awesome! Walk down to the beach! It's so beautiful!
Awesome day to visit the bridge. Beautiful weather.
Electronic toll charges. Some parking closed, probably due to Covid 19.
After so long of just looking at photos of the bridge, finally got here and got to walk the entire distance. There is no entrance fee to walk on the bridge. It's quite a walk though and can get fairly windy and chilly early in the day or later part of the afternoon. Do bring a windbreaker or a jacket.
The San Francisco icon!! It should definitely be on your to-do list on a visit to SF. If you can, cross the bridge on foot or a bike and you might be able to view some whales in the bay. Be warned that it gets really windy and chilly if it's foggy.
One of my most favorite views on Earth. Growing up in the bay area I never took it.for granted. I recommend everyone go to San Francisco and to visit the golden gate bridge once in their lives. You have the abiyto walk both sides of the bridge and get a good view of the whole San Francisco Bay area.
Was a great place to visit, forgot a light jacket which was needed. One more off the bucket list.
This is one of the most iconic place .The bridge is beautiful, what a view, tall, long. A lot of tourists over there, it can be cold at times. I remember part of x men 2 movie was filmed there at the bridge. What a monument it is! Famous, everyone should go there without a doubt. For those of you who travel to San Francisco, definitely consider stopping there and take pictures. Simply amazing one of the bucket list for sure ! It s a nice place to hang out with family
