As impressive as this modern structure is, the actual experience of walking across it leaves something to be desired. My main memories are all of the anti-suicide signs and the extremely loud traffic passing by.
Nonetheless, it's still quite a sight to see, and something you can always tell your kids that you did. Try to go in the afternoon after the fog passes.
A great bridge with a great history. Must see if you're in California and luckily the weather was perfect for me to view it.
it's a bridge. pretty famous from what I hear. photogenic, too.
It is beautiful and so great to walk there in the morning. It is cold at night.
I was born in San Francisco so I love everything about the city.
Pretty. Nice day out. Wonderful views. Great to look at from the cafe.
Gotta do it atleast once. Ride a bike across or walk. It's amazing the view (on a clear day)
All tourists coming to San Francisco try to visits it, many movies has shown this cable supported Golden gate bridge, rest rooms facility available here at viewing points.
Such an amazing bridge! The colour is so impressive.
We loved exploring the area around the visitor centre and reading about the history of the bridge.
Despite the fog, it was still amazing to have a look at the bridge, and walking across the bridge in the fog was amazing!
The visitor centre was shut when we were there due to smoke from nearby wildfires, but it was still worth visiting the bridge.
I definitely recommend walking or riding across the bridge and spending some time over in Sausalito, and visiting the bridge both in the day time and at night!
Recommend to cross the bridge. Get a coat, because it is pretty much windy up there, but it is so beautiful
Obviously a stunning bridge and view, but be sure to check the weather before you go! (Clouds/fog have the potential to completely obscure the scenery)
Best thing to do is rent a bike to cross the bridge, in battery Yates ferry will bring you back to San Fran.
Unfortunately, couldn't see the bridge due to the fog.
Great place for walking around or to do biking. It will be very cold all the time so never miss a jacket while going there. Parking car is a nightmare on a weekend if you go late so be prepared for that or else travel early to get a parking lot at the nearest point.
It's the golden gate bridge. Should definitely visit once in your life, even if its foggy. A lot of military architecture/history.
Great view of the bridge within the area. The only downside was the waiting time in the restrooms.
looking off side of golden gate bridge while walking across is a wishing well" rail full of dream coins
View of the Golden gate bridge from the top deck of a Hornblower ship as it makes its brief journey out the gate.
Bigger looking than I would have expected, great views of Alcatraz from one side. Enjoyed it, but not too much to do there. Still have to give it 5 stars, though.
Seriously a beautiful place and iconic monument of the state and the country.
Breath taking view! Scenery is beautiful! Had a great time with my kids. Grab some hot chocolate and walked the bridge!
Sure, it's just a bridge.....but what a bridge ! It looks really impressive from all angles, on sunny days and foggy ones. Make your way to the Visitor Centre parking and walk across the bridge for some great views, and a great experience. Heaps of people either ride or walk the bridge, and be prepared....it's a lot further than it looks, but well worth it. We went half way across and came back....it was great.
