WOW, it's always a pleasure dealing with my rep, Patrick Horszynski at Frist Data! He is knowledgeable, super friendly, so helpful and always willing to go the extra step to ensure my requests are handled promptly, most often right on the spot saving me from endless hours of follow ups, voicemail messages etc. I really appreciate that, like many other business owners we don't have time to waste and Patrick clearly understands that. I would strongly recommend Patrick, you won't be disappointed!

Worst customer service.

Worst customer service.
At the time of selling and introducing their product, they promised for good service and quick response. But after they sold it to us, they start their strategy to not reply. I just asked for Merchant ID and I mailed them last on Dec 10, 2019 and yesterday was Feb 9, 2020.
Still I couldn t get any response from them.
Really, is this your service?

Patrick Horzynski was quick, personable and made the switch from Moneris to First Data very easy.

He answered all my questions and concerns (because I read reviews) and explained why some people may have had issues in the past.

While my business isn't open yet due to covid and construction delays, my employees are already familiarizing themselves with the new device and are already enjoying the wifi Clover over bulky and glitchy two-piece I had before.

What a terrible experience trying to cancel a contract without penalty even though it is a legal right based on the Canadian Code of Conduct - First Data seems to think they are above the law! Many, many frustrating phone calls later and I've got no where... they will not provide their affiliate (First Data Global Leasing) with documentation to prove we were within our legal rights to cancel without penalty. And the people in the company that should be assisting with the matter seem to refuse - they leave it to the junior customer service representatives that have no clue how to explain to me why First Data does not have to follow the law or transfers you an automated phone system that takes you no where! They can only apologize and say there is nothing they can do.

BE AWARE - The Canadian Code of Conduct States that "Merchants are allowed to cancel their contracts without penalty following the introduction of a new fee, a fee increase or when a reduction in applicable interchange fees is not passed on to the merchant." "Merchants have 90 days from the date they receive the notice of the new fee or fee increase to cancel their contract without penalty."
"As part of this right, merchants cannot be charged penalties for any related service contracts with payment service providers, such as terminal leases or third-party payment processing."

First data documented that we told them the "reason for cancellation" was that we switched service providers and will therefor not assist with cancelling our terminal lease without penalty. We did not know that we had to site the Canadian Code of Conduct for them at time of cancellation. Is this not ridiculous?? Any reputable business would assist their customers based on their LEGAL RIGHTS - It should be MANDATORY that they check if we were within our rights to cancel and act appropriately.

Point of Sale Devices require repeated replacement. Call centre is confused and has no process that sees device replacements through to the end. Agents neglect to note call records, make false promises. Requires many follow-ups impacting our client services. Agents resolve administrative problems by creating new merchant accounts, duplicating leases and double-billing.

Have been fighting to get my money that disappear...

Have been fighting to get my money that disappeared in their "back end". Of course they insist on still charging me for rental, etc. They say that the machine is working and rental fees still apply.....the machine is working, the company isn't. Payments go to them, just not to me! So yes, the machine is working......to make them my money.
As an update.....after dealing with bank traces, clients, etc....the bank sent me proof that first data, in fact, did receive my money back. So, yet again, called first data back and funny.....they didn't even need to trace it. They knew it was there all along. They had just decided not to call or contact me to let me know. Now getting my funds, with charges from first data taken off, of course.....lol. They had no intention of contacting me to let me know my funds were in their account. Just hoping I would forget?

Paresh was awesome to work with. He was prompt to answer my initial inquiry when I reached out to him. He was thorough in explaining the process, pricing and to ensure I had a better understanding of the devise. I'm a fairly new entrepreneur and the world of debit/credit machines can be quite daunting when I have 1001 other things to be working on. I highly recommend Paresh as your go to person at First Data.

Kubendra Naidoo at First Data was who helped us set up our PoS system. We always received a quick response to any inquiries we had. Further, we received the POS system quickly and had the terminal set up in no time. The terminal has been working well without any issues ever since installation.

O customer service. When your machine is down God help you. As a small business owner running a convenient store in a busy location, time is letteraly money. They should be there for us, but they are unreliable. Keeping us on hold for over an hour and getting disconnected multiple times while trying to reach an agent is unacceptable. Save yourseld the headache, time and money.

Customer service was not very good. Got transferred to another department cause agent couldn't help me even though I had pressed the technical support button. Waited on hold for over a hour and half and gave up. Would have been nice if they had sent out an email regarding any updates to their software. Software update was to take place June 13, 2019. Our machine stopped working the third week of May 2019. Been trying to call customer service everyday, but cannot get through. Thinking of switching to another interact provider.

I enjoy my First Data machine very much, and so do my customers. I also enjoy dealing with First Data as a company. My very first experience was when I inquired about joining, and I met Suzanne Vetere, who became my contact person. She is, in a word, amazing - excellent customer service skills and very knowlegeable. Suzanne made the entire process go very smoothly, and it was accomplished in a very short amount of time. Whenever I need technical assistance or have questions about my account, I always receive prompt, accurate information from the respective departments. Everyone is so helpful, and wait times are minimal. It is great service from a great company!

This people are terrible. they are overcharging for the lease of the machine every single month!!. when you want to cancel, they hold you to a 5 year contract, eventhough you only signed for 3 years with the merchant and then they want $2200 to get you out of their contract! On top, the customer service is terrible, very rude and they just hang up the phone. This is a crooked company do not sign up with them!!!! If you check their reviews with mostly US clients, they only get a 1 star rating from over 350 people because of their deceitful business practices. Stay away!!

Patrick Horszynski was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The rates were great. They are lower than their competitors. Always responded to my emails and phonecalls in regards to any questions I had about the Clover Flex. Was always upfront, and never dodged any questions. My business had to be delayed for opening due to COVID-19, and Patrick always kept in touch during the time I was not open yet. Thanks again!

We've been leasing a machine from First Data for a...

We've been leasing a machine from First Data for almost 2 years now and our machine stopped working two weeks ago. We've been on several phone calls with their tech department who refuses to send us a new machine and claims that the reason our machine no longer works is because of the cell service in our area. Their ONLY solution is for us to break our lease, pay all the penalties, and go on a new lease with them in order to be sent a new SIM card to see if that might make our machine work again. I was spoken to like I was a 2 year old being mansplained to about how their systems work. I've been warned that merchant services are "money-grabbing schemes" in the past, but these interactions have shown me that they truly care nothing about their customers. If I break our lease, I will certainly never be working with First Data again.

after a rocky start with an independent sales person signing me up for a lease when it was supposed to be a rental, i called the head office and got Patrick Horszynski! he is amazing! he fixed everything for me and got me an even better deal. The call in service center has also been great when i call in to change something on my terminal, they walk me through everything. Patrick even called me after hours to make sure i had everything i needed.

I set up an account with them for a store I wanted to open but couldn't because city denied zoning permit. I called and explain my situation and asked to return the terminal but the wanted me to pay a high penalty around $2600 or keep the terminal and pay the monthly fee. Now am stuck paying $45mth for 5 years for something that was never set up or used. Am extremely disappointed.

If I could a negative star I would. I bought a company in November and the previous owner had warned me about the POS companies (mostly the sales people bad customer service ) but the rates were great so it was reccomend I stick with them.

I did. I have regretted it ever since.

It has been nothing but headaches ever since. In December it really started as they for some reason closed my account twice. Withheld approximately $10,000 before finally releasing the funds in early January, reason why I still do not know.
They also billed some of my clients twice in one day during the period of dec 21st-27th. I received the amount I was supposed to and so i did not realize this had happened until the new year when clients started calling to report this to me and ask me what happened. The money was not in our accounts so we initiated an investigation with First Data. It is now January 26th and they have still not rectified the situation, or even contacted me to tell me where they are at. We reached out to our clients once we had determined a time frame and are now sitting at 12 clients that were double billed

And to top this all off they are randomly withholding funds every day since early January, they currently have over $13,000 of my money being held of my companies money again with no answers as to why.

I have called this company daily with hopes of getting this resolved, trying to get management to do something, they have had over a month to "review" this account.

I am now having to look into legal action against this company in order to get the money they owe me and the apologies and money that they took from my clients back!

Frank was really easy to work with and was understanding that I did not own a small business in the past, therefore some of the information was new to me. Thank you Frank!

I dont give bad reviews but this is the worst service possible. Everytime I call Im sent to Dominican Republic and no one can answer my questions. Clover Flex terminal not worth the cheap transaction fee's when you take into account all the unaccouted for charges, holding funds for more than the promised "next day deposit". Inkas Payments along with First Data and Clover Flex are horrible for service. Stay with the big banks for your POS terminals. The security and customer service is worth the small savings if any.

ANDRE has been more than helpful with ALLLLLL of my questions lol and I mean I ask him a new question daily ... prob more than one... he is quick with his response.. I started using my clover device just this past week and my client's and myself love it ... my payment is deposited into my account the next business day .. Our experience with first data has been phenomenal from the start. Paresh took the time to educate us, as well as to develop a friendly relationship. They held all my deposits for most of October and Novrmber with no explanation. only after I found my account in overdraft, did I start inquires. They don't care how there action affect my business . They release on November 23rd and released my monies, just in time for Doug Fords announcement on new restriction for retailer. Tie up a small business for almost 2 months without cash flow. in time for more hurdles. Then I tried to pick up on Christmas orders and noticed charge backs of 6k without an email, call, or explanation again. December 7th and I am no closer to finding out what therir doing with all my charges. They were nice enough to give me an application to see my account online, which takes 7 days to approve Nd then 7 to 14 days to appeal any charges. Great...just in time to miss my xmas sales with no resolution. I would stay far away from this American company. But I'm not going away quietly until I get all my monies back.

Wow where to begin... the absolute worst and unbelievable experience I have had to date and I m beside myself about this company and I would never ever suggest using this company even if it was the last one on earth. I m beyond frustrated by the fact that no one can answer why I m being charged after cancelling my contract long ago, spending hours on the phone with multiple operations transferring me from person to person and spending hours wasting my time. So horrible. I am with them now and ready to call it quits. So I signed up with them thru a company last year, then another company approached me with better rates. We cancelled my lease with the previous company (both companies deal with first data) anyway, returned their horrible clover device and since July, they have been charging me my monthly rental since July for the machine I had returned on-top of my monthly rental fees with panda pay. So they've basically robbed $400 from me and will continue to do so obviously when they had said that they would reimburse me and stop last month. Robbery if you ask me

I have been getting calls from a call center telling me they are from First Data al 3 times weekly. I ask them not to call again, but every other day they call.. First Data claims it is not them, but a broker that sells their services. It is all the same to me, their agent is harassing people. Nobody at First Data that I could speak with seems to care that their agent are calling when asked not to.
