Beware if you're buying parts from here. I had the motherboard I got fail on me after 2 months. I spoke to technician on the phone and he said to bring the whole computer in to get it returned under the manufacturers warrantee. After waiting in line at the service counter for about an hour I was told that they were supposed to have me just bring in the part and that it's going to cost me 130$ to get it taken care of. In that hour there were two people in front of me, and only one person working the counter. So now I'm out about a hundred dollars and 5 days of time. An absolute nightmare to deal with. I've been a big fan of this store so far, but this has really changed my mind about it.

Edit: so after having me wait another 20 minutes the tech said that I still have to remove the motherboard myself and return it. Lovely. So now I've got to head back home and do it myself. I can confidently say that I will be buying my parts online next time. It's easier to deal with issues that way.

I love this store. I'm a customer since early 2000's. As much as you can get cheap things on amazon, I still get better deals on certain stuff here. You can always check their website and compare prices. Staff could be a little friendlier, but overall pretty good

Purchased a 2 year replacement plan that their sales team suggested. A year later, they refuse to honor the replacement plan. There goes some wasted money. Would not recommend this establishment. Whatever product you're looking at, they'll have employees try to sell you on their replacement plans. Repeat: would not recommend.

Great store for finding everything you need for a DIY build or a new computer, and everything in between including TV s! The associates here are always very helpful in locating items and making recommendations. You can order online and pickup items in the store within a few hours which is a nice option. Also, if you are looking for something in the store you can look up the item on the website and it will show you it s location in the store.

I think this place is awesome, especially if you want to build a computer. A sales associate was trying to sell me something more expensive though and kind of lying about why it was better. Other than that, all of the other associates I talked to were very helpful and informative.

If you need computer hardware, this is the place. The staff is the best, they'll help with anything you need to find or any questions. The selection is great. If you find something cheaper online, ask a employee, they may be able to price match it.

Refused to even take a look on my laptop & charger, explaining that they cannot diagnose anything since it is Canadian. Even though it is out of warranty & I just wanted to check my battery and charger performance. Even though this same laptop model with same specs is available in the US.

A customer for over 10 years. I was told on the phone a warranty for my son's laptop expired on the 7th. I work a lot and when I went in on the 7th I was told it actually expired on the 6th at midnight. The service manager admitted I was given the wrong info and said he would do an "investigation" and call me Monday. He also wanted to know why I did not come in the day before(not really his business). By Wednesday it was apparent he could care less so I picked up my laptop. I told another manager what happened he also seemed not to care. I let them know I was a long time customer that will not return for personal or business purchases. To date the service manager never called to say he had even looked into why I was given wrong info. Makes it easy to give Amazon my business.

If it's computer related then they have it and if not you probably don't need it. Prices are very competitive and they also price match. Their combo deals are less costly than you can get elsewhere piecemeal. The employees are knowledgeable and very willing to help. I'm delighted they are within driving distance located near Boston University and MIT.

I give this spot 4.5 stars and I like it. I've been going here for years and I live way out in the hood. I search until I find the best price w/o compromising on quality. That's important to me. I've purchased everything from CD-RW's, Ethernet cables, mice (not rodents) optical drives, hardrives and whatever I find a deal on. The only thing, more of a pet peeve but my gripe is that the customer service reps stay hawking cats like I got sticky fingers. They stare you down and I get it, there are a lot of electronics and people steal. Also, I grew up loving tech, so I don't need the..."You look lost, let me help you sir". Thanks but I'm all set braaah! is what I usually say. Lol

Awful customer service at the service department. I had a problem with my laptop screen and wanted to look for options to fix it. Asked the service person if changing the LCD cable would fix the problem. He tells me that it might not fix the problem and then goes inside and just vanishes. I was just standing alone for almost 15 minutes and then decided to walk out. If you are going to have a service department at least have the basic decency not to leave customers hanging.

I make infrequent pilgrimages to this Micro Center to buy cartloads of upgrades for my computer setup. I am experienced with building computers and prefer Micro Center as my number 1 place to make in-store computer component related purchases. They always have the best deals next to Newegg and employees there know what they're talking about. They are flexible and easy with return policies. They have a lot of great tech gadgets and resources here that I can't find anywhere else. I got my GTX 980 here recently with a MSI 970 motherboard. Never had any bad experiences with this Micro Center. Recommended to hardware enthusiasts of all levels.

Edit: As a reply to the Owner. No, thank you! Your staff was excellent and always tried to make sure we had everything we needed while we were there. My group knows what we're doing when it comes to computers and other tech. But just having people around asking us if we needed help and then inevitably chatting with us about that stuff is great! We will absolutely be back. I have about three or so PC's I wanna build for my friends. And I know just where to go now!

DO NOT ever try to call the Cambridge location to find out if they carry a part. You will never, never, never be connected to a live person. After the line rings 15 times, or so, you get disconnected. If you try to find the part on line, as they suggest, you get everything but what you are looking for.

Pretty good place. They have a good selection of parts for computers. However the parts are a little high. If you are going to buy in a store go to Micro center. If you can wait and buy something online I would do that.

The place has a great assortment of devices, cables, cases, games, hard drives, etc. You name it its probably there. The service was pretty good, but it could drag sometimes. Some items are not necessarily visible in the shelfs so you need to aid yourself by using Micro Center's web page to check availability. Overall it is a pretty complete store so you might find what you are looking for if it regards anything technological.

Generally the staff are very helpfull and have most items you need in stock. I will not let my last experience of standing and waiting for 2 hours to find out the video cards the website said they had in stock were not 8n stock tarnish that. But like come on guys

Good customer service and a huge selection. staff is on commission, so they approach often and try to give you their sticker for when you check out so they get the commission, even if they didn't help, but they're not pushy about it and honestly, who can blame them?

Came into the Microcenter to get my computer built and diagnosed. I was told I would get a call on my diagnosis in 2-3 days. After about a week waiting for a call I did it myself I was then told my diagnosis and then told I would be called or emailed soon to how we would handle the computer being built. Once again I received no cal or email and after about five days I called and was told to hold by the automatic system which would then promptly hang me up. This would happen everyday I called for the next 3 days until I got connected to someone who told me they would call me back shortly and then hung up on me.I never got a call back. I ultimately decided just to take the computer back as dealing with them just wasn't worth it. The day I picked it up I also had to buy a new motherboard, I asked one of the representatives if they had this model showing showing the box it came in as reference I was told "No" however after looking for it on my own for what felt less then a minute I found it. When I told the representative he just said I guess we do.

Overall Microcenter has given me the worst customer service I have ever received and that coming from someone who deals with Comcast on a regular basis. From reading the past reviews not it doesn't seem like things are changing anytime soon. Do not reccomend

Employees are knowledgeable but do not pester you. They make themselves available to help and are very professional. Great deals are found here, it genuinely feels like they actually want to save you money and get what you need.

Zero if possible! Certainly the last visit to the micro center. Let me start with thanking the gentleman at the front who sprays disinfectant on hands and guides customers. He is very polite and professional.

The service center was a joke. As soon as I took my laptop out of my bag, the guy at the service center said very loudly - almost yelling - I don t work on that laptop! That s old laptop! I don t work on those. We don t have the parts. And he kept apologizing to the men behind me saying sir, sir, I will be with you momentarily sir while I was still there. Anyway, very politely I said that I realized it was an old laptop but all I needed was a rescue disk to bring it to the safe mode and I could take care of the rest of it. Mind you, I fix all sorts of computers. I really just needed a rescue disk! How hard is that? He took the laptop inside and came back and made sure to say it loudly enough for everybody in the store to hear, this laptop is 9 years old ! So what? Are you a tech or not?
Again, politely I asked him to give me the ASUS number. He said they can t do it either! Again I asked for the number and finally he brought a number. Kept yelling: they don t Work on that either.

So, let me tell you micro center, you have to train your employees. I understand you are basically a store like Best Buy but when you have a service center, that service center must be functional. As a project manager, I give you some free advice: if you are not willing to work on some computers, you d better make it clear on the website or even have it written in the center, on the wall somewhere we don t work on computers older than a year and those not purchased from us . That s fine. Don t treat customers like that.

Also, train employees. They must not be so profoundly rude and sexist. Just because I am a woman, it doesn t mean I don t know anything about computers. I have computers more than 10 years old and fully functional because I know how to take care of them.

What I experienced today was shocking rudeness, obvious sexism and complete lack of work ethics and responsibility. If this is your idea of pushing customers to buy your computers, allow me to congratulate you on your decent marketing strategy.

Kudos on losing a very loyal customer. I will never set foot in the micro center again and I do not recommend it to anyone who wants any service on their computers.

They are basically just sellers and their technicians don t know much about computers. They have the service center because legally, they must have one. It s just there as a formality and is extremely unhelpful.

He probably thought because I had brought in an old computer - a limited edition by ASUS for collectors - that I was not willing to pay much. No man, I would be very happy to pay up to $500 for a task as simple as dropping a rescue disk in the drive and bringing up the computer to the safe mode. You guys lost a nice deal and a sweet tip.

I was trying to tell the guy that I paid $40 for a cab to get there but he kept raising his manly voice and shut me down. Wow micro center! Wow! You have changed a lot. Your standards have dropped and this all is so unfortunate. Repulsive experience. Once again, train your employees. And do not treat anybody else like that. You guys have serious problems with women.

I have never brought my apple products to a store outside of Apple itself. I was hesitant to book an appointment at Micro-Center because I had never been; but reluctantly did so because my laptop was oh so broken. Yonas in the repair shop immediately calmed my nerves about my laptop. He was knowledgeable, kind, and a joy to interact with. Apple told me the repair would most likely wipe my computer clean, and take 14+ business days. Yonas and Derek got my laptop back to me in seven days, with all my data preserved. I cannot say enough good things about this shop; I will be taking all of my repairs there in the future.

Boston's largest computer city, should not contain one! And affordable! If you need a computer or peripheral hardware, you can buy it. There are a lot of the latest notebooks, including the GS73VR that I just paid attention to just put on the shelf. You can go there to buy hardware. Group desktop, only family audio is less. Small speakers are quite a lot. There are many notebooks with student discounts, you must ask more such things before buying.

If you need anything computer related this is the one and only place for hundreds of miles. Excellent staff that knows what you need and any employee can show you. They train their employees well.

Great store and for the most part great employees. The head manager there isn't very nice though, and threatened me that he wouldn't take the return because the product was working properly even though he didn't test it correctly. He then didn't give me all the money for the product I returned. Terrible experience. Don't come here unless you want to buy a product you don't ever plan on returning.

The store is clean, and there are plenty of helpful employees. The store have competitive prices compared to the online retailers and the selection of products is decent, for the majority of consumers looking for a new laptop/PC/Mac or computer upgrades this place is excelent.

Love this place, period. Have purchased complete systems, laptop and desktop, BYO systems, components, replacement parts, and accessories. Knowledgeable staff, and a the best checkout line (as in, "check out these cool gadgets and tech knick-knacks"). My first and last stop for technology in Greater Boston. Hint: stocking-suffers.

I came in with a problem the techs ultimately had to refer back to Apple. They spent quite a bit of time with me, but wouldn t take any payment. While there, I heard them give many honest opinions about costs of repairing vs replacing broken tablets, computers, etc. Honest, helpful people!

Prices can sometimes be higher than what you would find online, however the knowledge of the sales staff, service, and the ability to put your hands on a product before purchasing make up for it.

I went there this weekend for the first time lookikg to buy parts to build a computer. Once getting in there I was greeted and got asked if I needed help immediately. The sales rep really knew what he was talking about and helped me with the parts that i needed without having to upsale anything. I then used the tier 2 building service and Wilson was amazing. It seems like the people who who I interacted with at the store really enjoyed his job. Will be coming back. Thanks again!
