I've known and worked with Chuck and Geoquest for over 10 years on literally dozens of jobs that we've done. Everything from simple structural details to very complex projects where we lifted and leveled hillside homes and modified 1895 Victorians into modern open floor plans without disturbing their "charm". I can say without equivocation that they have performed excellently.
It can be a bit frustrating when they won't drop all of their other commitments and immediately tend to mine, but that's a simple reality of life and honestly, a reflection of our mindset due to living in the age of on-demand everything.
The secret is not that complicated. Plan the work, put a realistic schedule together and wait your turn.
They do a good job, but the backlog and wait list is frustrating, but I think it may easily be outside of their control to forecast demand and complexity of the projects at first glance
Chuck was awesome! Our covered back porch was sinking. He was very thorough and explained everything. He went above and beyond even waiting for the project manager to show up and explain what he found to him as well. Highly recommend!!
Horribly run company. Used their services because Calton Homes recommend using them.
Had them do a soil sample for a building I wanted to do an addition on. Firstly they charged me 200 dollars for their engineer to come out and bs for I'm not sure how long when it seems to me they could have just ordered the soil test. Then I'm not even made aware of the 200 dollar cost until I get a letter months later saying if I didn't pay it last month (as in it's already past due) there will be a fee.
Then when the city shows up to mark the area (which they said an engineer would be present for) I'm by myself trying to figure out what to do.
So I call their front desk and ask the receptionist what to tell the city guy. She doesn't even know who I am or what to tell him or how to look that info up. So I tell her thanks and goodbye to be nice, to which she replied "I'm not sure how I helped". Then I tell the city guy to just mark it all and they can figure out the hole placement.
Sadly I paid them by check the first day their engineer came out. So they should have had record of me and honestly not sure why they didn't collect the "200 dollars I owed them" at the same time I cut the check for the soil test. Whole thing is messed up.
So in their report they say we told them where to drill the whole. (Which I didn't tell them anything about where to drill, not my job) When it was supposed to be supervised by an engineer again.
Then next we get the report, no explaination, only a request to sign a document that says we/they will tell anyone who wants to buy the property in the future the results of the test. When I don't even know what's in it or if it was even done right.
This company is a sham. Bottom line I would never trust them again for anything.
