A brick and mortar retailer with decent selection. for those taking issue with their prices, they price match amazon, ebay, etc, so if you are paying too much its because you neglected to do your own research. My main gripe with this place is with the sales staff. They are incredibly pushy and argumentative, and they constantly try to sell me on a more expensive model of whatever it is im trying to buy. ("No, I dont need a $60 "premium" HDMI cable for my 1080p monitor!") I had a sales person spend half an hour trying to convince me that the gtx 970 was better than the r9 390 "because of the drivers." I suggest that if you are gonna buy something here, do your own research, and know exactly what you want coming in the door. Also check their stock online. Several times I have gone in for something that I already confirmed they had in stock, only to have the sales person tell me "we dont have that, we only have this other one that's twice as expensive." Just be clear that you wont be buying anything except exactly what you came there for, and they will magically produce it for you.

Great prices on CPUs, wide selection, and lots of great stuff you won't find in most electronics stores. They have a pretty good selection of components as well, although no where near as much as You Do It electronics.

It's like a candy store for the computer enthusiast. They have sensible price matching to online stores and solid deals. It was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon, but I was able to get some help with finding what I wanted after a couple minutes of waiting.

Everyone there is incredibly knowledgeable and not pushy at all. The manager has been super nice about the shortage of new Ryzen 5000 series chips and RTX 3000 series gpus. My go to for computer needs.

I just used their computer repair services...they replaced my laptop in one day which was much faster than the quoted amount of time the job would take.

I have very good experiences when shopping at micro center and look forward to my next visit.

They have great computer service , this is my third repair for a completely different machine and they have always been helpful.

They sell the defects & overstock for companies that cannot sell it. Rebates? You better get a contract if they promise you a rebate. They offer terms for a rebate, and then do not fulfill them.

I am 2 out of 14 on rebates through them. I consider it a bonus if the rebate ever goes through.

75-80% of the items I bought worked over 3 years.

The manager is knowledgeable and hardworking, and is the only reason I continued to shop there. (the young man with glasses).

The rest of the store...well I was told if you don't have anything nice to say, then I shouldn't say it.

Save your money, gas, patience. and only go here if......um...if literally every other store stopped selling electronics. Literally all of them.

Cheerio!

This store is a damn in a good way. I was desperate looking for a Dell laptop load, I went to Best Buy and they told me that I could not buy in any store, only in the Dell store online, but at Micro Center they were super attentive and found a charger that fit in my computer. The prices are great and the variety is endless.

The screen on my new laptop has stopped working. I am frustrated at being unable to contact the store for help. They don't have a phone number and I've tried chat and email. All I get are generic answers telling me to contact the manufacturer. I bought from Micro Center because I thought they would have some concern for their reputation and be more willing to help if anything went wrong. Instead, I can wait on hold with Lenovo, go through all of their tech support tree, pay for shipping, wait several weeks... until I get back a repaired computer of questionable reliability? I could have just bought a refurb from Amazon and I'd be way ahead at this point. What's the point of shopping locally if this is what you get for customer support? I have a doorstop and I would like my money back. I would gladly pay Micro Center a restocking fee if they would just make this problem go away.

P.S. Micro Center: If you can help then I will happily update this review to reflect that.

Short answer: Sale staff can't be trusted since they are paid based on commission.

Long answer: When I bought my laptop, one of the main reasons I got it there was because the sales staff said something along the lines of, "you can get an insurance policy, this policy is so GOOD that if ANYTHING breaks, if even a single pixel goes out, you can bring the computer in and we will give you store credit to get a bran new computer equal to what you paid now". I thought this was AMAZING, to good to be true, so I bought a computer! Well... I guess it was to good to be true, turns out I never read the actually policy, since I thought Hey I can trust this guy right??? The real policy is that, you get a credit equal to the value of the computer, every time the computer breaks you bring it in, they will fix the computer and subtract the cost of repairs from that credit. When the repairs exceed what left on the credit they will buy you out and give you store credit equal to the remaining balance of the credit. This is a far different policy than what I was told.

To me, the reason I went to Microcenter was because I trusted them, I paid a little bit more than just ordering off of Amazon, so that I could work with someone to give me advice. But what I found was that while yes there are some good sales reps who will not lie, there are others that will just to get the commission, since they are paid on commission. Thus even if you buy your computer at Microcenter, you still have to put in all the same research. At that point you might as well save a little bit of money and order it off of Amazon. I wont be going back unless I know exactly what I am buying and they beat Amazon price.

In March, they helped me pick out parts to build a PC. When I had an issue with my RAM in JUNE, I took my PC in for a diagnostic. Not only did they quickly identify the issue, they went above and beyond to resolve it. I can't say enough about the service here, from both sales and support. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars.

I don't usually give reviews. In fact, this is the first review that I have ever left for an establishment, but my experience was so out there that I just had to give my comments. I came in looking to upgrade my PC, which had parts that were pushing on two years of age now. While the variety and quantity of goods was amazing, my customer service experience was awful. I was greeted by a sales consultant, named Adam, who asked what I was looking for. I politely explained the parts I was searching for. As we began to look at motherboards, he proceeded to explain the pros and cons of each; however, after I asked what was wrong with one of the motherboards I was about to purchase, he exclaimed "Were you listening? Did you not just hear the words that came out of my mouth?". Apparently, he had discussed the cons already, but due to the fact that I have trouble hearing, I didn't catch what he was saying. I apologized, explaining that I must have missed what he said. During the whole conversation with this guy, I was talked down to and treated in an incredibly condescending and rude manner. Unfortunately, this is the second time I encountered this sales consultant. He was very unpleasant to deal with the first time, however, today it was just outrageous. I am hesitant to shop here again due to customer service concerns.

Friendly staff and always had items I needed. Now with mobile ordering, it helps going in and out since I don t need to browse around and spend more time in there then I should be. Usually takes less then an hour to get my order ready. I usually order and get in my car and drive over and it s ready. Usually a 20 min drive to get there.

Prices are comparable to Amazon so I m never worried about price. There have been plenty of items I have bought on sale and checked Amazon and it cost more on Amazon. Items like external hard drivers, NVMe drives, and thermal parts.

This place was alright until I went there to repair my laptop. Just a few months ago, I turned in my laptop to get my screen replaced, so I had to pay $300. It broke down after 3 months, and they say I need to pay another $300 for the same screen. What is this bs? And they re trying to act all faultless saying they didn t do anything wrong, it was the company that makes the screen s fault, blah blah excuses. I m just now concerned if the screen breaks down for the second time, I m going to have to pay another $300 like these money hungry employees tell me to do.

A great store for great electronic. If you want a refurbished laptop, or you want to build your own pc, you MUST visit Micro Center. You can find any other piece of electronics, but for electronic components you have to try Radio Shack.

Great way to reward the people that can't follow the rules. Giving out vouchers to people for the new RTX3080 who stood in lines since midnight. Even though your official thread about the launch of the rtx3080 states you wont open early and wont allow lines to form due to Covid. Yet you did the opposite

I walked in and showed them how my laptop was unable to close or open without a piece popping out. Without even looking at what could have been wrong, the manager said "look I've been doing this a long time, you need a repair here and here you you can't just pop these back into place" as he's pointing to the wrong places of repair that I literally just popped back into place 45 minutes later. I came back to show him that his points of suggested repair were wrong because he should see that he shouldn't jump to diagnostics without even holding the computer. I was met with Mr. Barnes who was quite possibly the most rude employee I've ever met. Mr. Barnes told me the correct points of repair (kudos), but he insisted that the manager was still correct because it's all the same part. Yes it's the same part, but a different location of that part (around the hinge) had to be repaired! I told him that he needed to inform his manager he was wrong and he said "no, you're wrong, you're arguing over semantics". At this point I'm losing my mind and decide to leave and as I'm walking out he said "why did you even come in here" in a way that's very clearly intentionally trying to piss me off. I told him that I needed to inform his manager that he needs to inspect the computer before making false diagnostics that's why. As I'm obviously reading his name tag, he states what his name is in an extremely condescending manner. Mr. Barnes had such an insulting and condescending attitude, worse than the arrogant manager that gave me the wrong points of repair. Barnes is a huge jerk! It clearly doesn't matter if you've been "doing this for a long time". I came in for a repair, came back to inform the manager that he should know he was wrong so that he doesn't make the same mistake again, left with the worst computer repair experience. Never returning.

I'm not one to write reviews but I have to make an exception given the exceptionally awful experience I had with Micro Center these past few weeks. 2 wees ago I brought my computer for diagnostics as it was making a buzzing sound. They told me they would call me in a few days once someone took a look. I waited 5 days, nothing... I returned to the store and they hadn't even created an internal file for my diagnostic! In fact my computer was sitting on a shelf with no apparent plan for anyone to even look at it.

When I was there the second time, they apologized, made an electronic file for my diagnostic, and promised someone would take a look in the next few days and give me a call.... again I waited for about 5 days and I heard nothing. I tried calling but as a few other reviewers have noted... they don't even have a functioning phone. Someone times when I called, the line would automatically hang up on me, and other times I just wait on hold continually until I just gave up and hung up.

Again I returned, about 2 weeks from when I initially dropped it off... still nobody had even looked at my computer! At this point I was so fed up I just asked for my computer back, not diagnosed. 2 weeks wasted... I plan to take my computer to RadioShack in Central Sq.

The last of a dieing breed in the Boston area. An actual B&M computer technology store for techies - with a wide selection of hardware components for the "build your own" people. There were so many of these stores in the 80s and 90s, but they are all gone. These guys and Fry's (only west coast) are the only chain stores left standing.

so it's not often I take the time to write a 'review' - and a positive one at that. but after 5 (yes, FIVE) visits to Micro Center stores I have to say that I received the BEST customer service i could have asked for. I was designing an Evanescence room in my mind and trying to explain it (what it is and what it needed) was not easy! the sales guy, Deneb, helped me 4 of those 5 times. he spent more than 30 minutes with me on one visit and a whole lot more in all picking out just the right things to make the room what I wanted. he was incredibly patient and helped me pick out the RIGHT (not the most expensive) solution. everything from an extended Surface-to-HDMI switch to just the right solution to hide the nasty mess of wires! in all seriousness, I could not be happier with the outcome. thank you Deneb and MicroCenter for making it all work!

They misplaced my computer. When I went to go pick up my laptop which was supposed to be repaired, I waited for an hour because they couldn't find it. Then when they found it, after having it for three days, they told me that no one had even started working on it. The manager was sympathetic and a nice guy but the staff was largely incompetent. I wouldn't trust them with my devices again.
