I always love to come here, if you are looking anything about computer, here is your place and if you don't find it here, it is likely that you won't find it nowhere else, the customer service is great, very professional and knowledgeable of anything regarding computer or TV's, the store organization is very neat, very clean.

So I've been coming here since I was a kid and now being the only large brick and mortar computer store in the area I make the 40 mile drive up to here . prices are fair (almost the same if not the same as amazon and newegg)
The employees are very friendly and helpful and everyone is nice and they seem to be happy and enjoy their jobs .
This is what would happen if the best parts of BestBuy and RadioShack had a baby. Staffed with helpful and knowledgeable employees, and an excellent selection of everything you could need from discrete components and connectors to full blown computers, this store has it all.
Went in today cause my laptop screen cracked due to a malfunction in the hinge. Got really good and honest service and replies from the dude in the computer section. Will surely come here to get my next electronic gadget.
Worst experience ever! I should have went somewhere else. $365 told fix my laptop but can't even use it for work was told to download Google Docs. Will NEVER use their services again
Knowledgable and friendly staff, not pushy, excellent selection and generally cheaper than online retailers. Handling the Covid situation as well as can be expected. This place makes my little nerd-heart happy!
Best place to shop for electronics / computers. It reminds me of computer stores for the 90s that have gone extinct. Great prices, knowable staff and outstanding selection. Only problem is that there is so much here it's hard to resist spending money each time I visit.
"If only there where more of you." - Me, talking directly to the store as there are so few in the country. If you're looking for anything computer/technology related you can't go wrong buying it from here!
This store is incredible! Not only do they have just about anything you would need to build a PC, along with other tech stuff, but the staff here are AMAZING! They're all down to earth people who know what they are talking about. Prices are good too. After my experiences here I don't think I will ever go to another Best Buy in the foreseeable future. 10/10 would visit again
The representative that help to me here was exceptionally knowledgeable! I've probably been to every Micro Center on the East Coast and this by far was my best experience.
Customer service goes above and beyond with this location. They ve helped me build two rigs now plus finalizing a purchase on a gaming laptop last week. Best experience for a pc purchase ever!
Easy parking in a very congested area of Cambridge. Made a phone call the day before to ask if they carried the adapter I needed. They didn't but offered an alternative that would work and told me the in what aisle I could find it. Spent less than five minutes looking for it. Luckily got the last one. It works perfectly!!
I ordered an item and paid for it last Saturday. They send me a confirmation telling me to pick up the item. I start driving to the store and they send me an email telling me that they oversold and my order was canceled. I ask for a call back from the manager or the person that sent the email. Nothing? I use the corporate text line to ask for a call back and they waste about an hour of my time pretending they can't get an answer from the store but they guarantee the manager would call me. Nothing? Then they send me another email saying come down and pick it up or we will sell it. I text back and the explain how they made another mistake and the manager would call me. Nothing. Now its Thursday 5 days later and I'm done with this company. Stay away! They have wasted my time and it's not right
I've always shopped here when I could, helpful staff and a good stock, but I think now especially it's good to look at how businesses are handling themselves during the pandemic. I have not felt more secure in a store's plan than when I went in to Micro Center; they had staff with hand sanitizer at the door, all the staff had proper masks, and the whole in store pick up process was quick and easy. I also appreciate that it's easy to find and get into the parking lot since I travel from New Hampshire.
Love this place! I drive into the city from an hour away just to go here. Preorder online and pick up in store is easy and fast, also guarantees your parts are in stock. Staff is helpful and they know their stuff.
It is better to have a mannequin at the entrance to the store than an Operations Manager.
On August 25, 2020 I went to the store to return empty ink cartridges for recycling. The store gives you a $3 off coupon on each of them for next purchase. On this day I had 5 cartridges. The coupon says that it sets a limit: 3 cartridges per customer per day. I was with my husband. That s two customers. I don t know why but a cashier was outraged for some reason. Well, omit this situation. What happened after that was even worse. I took 5 items and had 5 coupons. The coupon says it sets a limit: one coupon per purchase. Therefore, I asked to do 5 different transactions for each item. The cashier became outraged again saying that I could use 1 coupon per day. I was confused. Why is it 1 coupon per day if it was allowed to use more last time? I told the cashier that he might be wrong and asked him to call the manager. A man came up to the cash-desk with the words: one coupon per day, ok? And simply walked away. I was like who is this man? He didn t introduce himself, he even didn t ask what had happened. I asked what his name was at his back. Without turning to me he said his name was Peter and continued to leave. Honestly, this is so disrespectful towards customers. I would like to remind you, Peter Donoghue, that you have a job because of the store s customers. For now, it is minus 2 customers on our behalf, but if the store staff continues to treat their customers in such a manner, I am sure it is going to be fewer. Nobody likes rudeness. Returning to coupones, I don t understand where logic is. I could leave the store then come back to another cashier and spend all the coupons I need in the end. There isn t any record of when I spent the coupons: today or not. Especially in my case, I took 5 items and asked to do 5 different transactions, not apply 5 coupons for 1 transaction. What I want to say by writing this review: first of all, if the Operations manager can t deal with any situation happening in the store, there is no reason to have such a manager. Or maybe it happened because he figured out that I was a foreigner and he didn t feel that he had to spend his time talking to me? And, secondly, I would like to get a response on how these coupons work indeed? Despite the fact that I am not going to come to this store any more, it might be helpful to those customers who had the same question and the same problem in the past.
Massive selection of anything you'd ever need for any sort of technology anything. Killer deals if you know where to look. Easy to get overwhelmed, but the selection can't be beat.
I purchased a brand new Dell Laptop computer from them with a one year warranty last summer. This computer was defective from almost the beginning with blue screen events occurring even several times a day. It has been a year battle with them and the computer still does not work. They blamed Dell. I was lied to and treated in a dismissive manner. I insisted it was a hardware problem and they stated it was a software problem. I was right. Would never go back there again!!! Very poor customer service.
I believe the store has everything you need when it comes to computers. Great products, good prices. I always had a small hiccups with the sales clerks though.
About five years ago I was looking for a new laptop. Despite having numerous sales clerks around me, I felt like I was being ignored. I had to really go out of my way to flag a clerk down.
Recently, my service experience better, people were really friendly with me and were helpful. But my clerk was making assumptions on how I would enjoy and use the product that I was looking at. He was sure on predicting the way I would be using this particular laptop. And he was pretty pushy about selling the extended warranty. He didn't get the hint that I didn't want it.
I ran to other clerks in different departments, and they were helpful and nice.
At any rate, this is the number one store I would go to for making laptop or computer purchases.
So the store is well stocked and you can get what you need almost every time you go in but common sense guys. I go in to get a gaming chair. So looking to drop $300-$350 I ask one of the attendants where the chairs are. He points to them on top of a shelf all put together wired down to the top. I ask Ok where s one I can sit on to see how they feel? Oh we don t do that.... you want me to drop $300plus on an item but won t have a floor model that one can try. So going to go so where else where I can try the chair and then I ll probably order it online for cheaper. If you want to make a sale for a expensive item that requires a quick test you might want to have it available. The must have 10 different chairs to buy and not 1 you can try out to see if you want to purchase.
I was really disappointed with a recent experience in service with the manager in charge on Sunday I shopped here for a past 8 years. Came to repair and possible upgrade of my MacPro Someone in service was helping us while got interrupted by a service manager and placed to another project While asked for a different person for a consult showed to a door. " go look for sales" while ask for a GM . Call them Monday Very rough and inappropriate treatment . I am amazed this store went such of route .I am surprised reading some positive reviews after all
Horribe Experimence. The people there have no idea about the hardware they are selling and give you wrong suggestions. Some others are rude and seem that they hate people coming into their stores. I will never buy anything from this place any more. All my friends will not be there either. Good luck to your business.
Great place to buy computer parts within two hours of my town. The staff is friendly and is willing to answer my questions without swaying me into buying the most expensive part on the shelf. These people are not crooks, they are honest people who sell legitimate parts for a great price. Gotta love those special Micro Center in-store pickup prices!
The service department is quite simply, the WORST. I'm pretty sure they hire incompetent people just to get you to buy new products instead of repairing them. I came in to figure out what was wrong with my Macbook (barely 3 years old) after it had randomly shut down and refused to reboot. I asked the guy if it was a problem with the logic board, and he told me that it wasn't. He said he could see that there was a spill on the keyboard (I have never gotten liquid on this laptop, I would remember), and when I asked him to run diagnostics anyways, he refused and said my money would be better spent on a new computer! Can you say SCAM?!!! I left and went to the Apple store instead, they ran diagnostics for FREE, and guess what? It was the logic board that was messed up. If you have an Apple product, save yourself the time AND money, and just go to Apple costumer service.
The area would be at a loss for its tech needs without Micro Center. Prices are not the lowest, but the selection if broad and deep. I go here for all my tech needs, both professional and personal. Don't know what I'd do without it.
The selection of parts and gadgets is immense, personally I was quite frankly amazed by the sheer number and diversity of their selection. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff.
I bought a laptop here about a year ago. I have warranty and about 1 or 2 months ago I started having trouble with my laptop. Micro center was very helpful when I brought it in and had me squared away in a few days. However, they apparently didn't get to the root of the problem and it happened several times in the last month since I got it fixed. We will see if they find the root of the issue, but they have been very helpful.
Update: I have just received my laptop after the second time that they were attempting to fix it. They replaced a couple parts and it seems to be working better. As I was leaving they tried to charge me $39.99 even though I had full warranty on it. It wasn't until I questioned them about it that they went to the back and started asking around. They came out soon and retracted my payment. As I said before, the workers were very friendly, but for some reason something seems to go wrong whenever I go there. The costumer service is excellent, but you need to be on your toes to make sure something is not happening that shouldn't.
Update:I took my laptop in the third time with the same issue. I made sure to talk to the employee who worked on it the last time (Wayland) and he was extremely helpful. He said that he would finally get me a new device since that was part of the warranty I had gotten. He got me squared away quickly and was extremely helpful answering all my questions. The customer service I experienced here was outstanding ever time.
I would give 5 stars to the sales person as they are willing to help you anytime and don't trick you into buying anything. While I don't feel the same way with their maintenance center. I was under the impression that they are perfunctory with customers who appear to be not good with computer. My computer had a charging problem. It had to be positioned right to get charged. I was not sure it was the socket or the adapter. The technician who took over the computer, just pointed a pen at the socket and said "It is probably a mother board problem." He was so awesome that he knew the problem in just one second. He made the comment without even simply trying with their adapter to see if the charging turned right. And then he said that I had to pay to get a thorough examination. I can only imagine how easy that can trick someone into paying. I then told him I changed the mother board here one year ago and I had an extended warranty on this computer. I asked if I could have a technician who worked on my computer before to help me with the problem or if he can just try a new adapter. Knowing that I don't have to pay for either the examination or the repair, he finally tried a new adapter and it turned out that the problem is on the adapter. I can help thinking if I checked in my computer and they told me it is a mother board, how much I am going to pay for this. Here I just want to remind customers who sent their computer for repair, ask questions and don't feel pressured if they are over-estimating the problem. I don't want to further disclose information on the technician and hope he can change his attitude in the future. Trust is easy to lost and hard to rebuilt. Other technicians in the maintenance team had help me with the screen replacement and they were great and helpful and did not make such irresponsible and diagnosis.
First time visit, Pure Awesomeness! Huge electronics selection! Friendly staff! I got the New Oculus Quest! Traveled 1.5 hrs to get it! Will be back! Happy customer!
I purchased a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series from the Cambridge, MA Microcenter on December 27, 2014, but only began using the laptop regularly in September 2015. Within two months of light use, the touchscreen had cracked. It's apparent from the cracks on the screen that it broke from the pressure of being opened: that is, the screen cracked exactly where I put my thumb when opening the laptop. Please note that there is no other way to open the laptop other than by applying such pressure.
I assumed I did not have a problem: I had purchased an extended warranty on parts, so I brought the computer back to the Microcenter store on Memorial Drive. But I left completely unsatisfied.
The manager on site, told me that the warranty I had purchased did not cover the screen. The manager then told me that Dell required that the laptop be returned to its factory for repairs at a cost of $519.
I told the manager that I thought Microcenter had some obligation to refund a considerable portion, if not all, of my laptop: after all, the machine had broken after two months of light, normal use. He offered to refund the extended warranty (which I accepted) and offered $50, or about 10 percent of the original purchase price, toward a new laptop. I declined this as woefully inadequate.
To sum up: Microcenter sold me a laptop that cannot handle two months of normal use and an inadequate warranty. When I attempted to resolve the issue, the store offered a pittance toward a new computer but nothing else.
As I mentioned above, I will not set foot in Microcenter again. I will also, of course, warn others against trusting an apparently friendly local store. If a brick-and-mortar store is unwilling to help longtime customers in redressing an obvious wrong, why shouldn't everyone just purchase their equipment on line?
Tons of electronics. Great deals that sometimes beat anything you can find online. Plus, the staff is quite knowledgeable! Wish there were more around the area.
Microcenter literally stole 158.10 from me. I had bought a Thrustmaster T-16000M Hotas w/ replacement plan it i didnt like it so i brought it back. A short while after i returned it I ended up with a charge from them for the same amount. I went to find out about it and the manager was not helpful and said he'd check the camera to see if i actually returned it and he said he'd get back to me and he never did. Just a bunch of crooks
Fantastic selection of computers and computer parts. The salesman are much more knowledgeable then your average big-box store people. That however is a very low bar to get over. But I have been very happy with business that I've done there in the past.
It s incredible that a speciality retailer like this is still open. This is like Radio Shack for computers. They have everything you could ever want to build your own PC or have lots of prebuilt machines and accessories for them like printers, monitors routers etc. I went it on a Saturday minoring with a specific budget for a new PC and we had excellent help from Anthony. He used our budget to get us almost everything we needed for a great build. We were lucky because by 11:00am it was very busy and a long line of people needing help. Checkout is a slow process here btw due to security measures (need to pick up stuff at a counter) and they love to sell warranties and to get heir commissions.
Micro Center is the only choice left for people who want to build their own computer. They gave a decent selection of parts and good prices. Their prices for flash memory can be surprisingly good. Over the years, they've made a few half hearted efforts to expand into hobby electronics and things like 3d printing, but they've stayed true to their roots.
Love this place. I can spend an afternoon here. On the west coast you have Fry's, here on the east coast we have Micro Center. Prices are competitive to online shopping.
I bought a printer this morning. The sales associate was very helpful. No problem there. But when I went to pay and was having difficulty getting the cumbersome 20 pound box out of my carriage, the woman at check-out refused to help me.
And when it was time to load everything back in my carriage and I asked for assistance, she just stared blankly at me. To be honest, I get better customer service at my local grocery store.
I was always a huge fan of this store. I've spent an incredible amount of money buying products from them for builds and have really never had an issue until recently. I always recommended this place whenever anyone asked where to find parts, and now I feel terrible for doing so. I purchased a motherboard for a new build and when I had gotten home and took a look at the processor slot I noticed a couple of bent pins. I thought "No biggie, these things happen, I'll just return it tomorrow and swap it out for a different one.
Well when I attempted to return the product the employee called the manager over to see the board and I was informed that since it had bent pins, they would not return the product... I explained that I didn't even attempt to put the processor in but they refused to listen and told me it was my fault. Their explanation was that since the mobo was out of the packaging that it was my fault... How the heck am I supposed to find out if the pins are bent if I don't open the package?...
The customer service was so terrible that I will most likely never shop here again. It's a shame since I am always like a kid in a candy shop while I'm there.
Love the store and concept, but I've never experienced that terrible customer service in my life.
Literally a PC Builders playground, they have everything you will need for building PC's, cases, motherboards, drives, processors, everything. Routers or networking cables or whatever you may need that is PC related they also have in stock as well.
They held a promotion for a great a price on a video card. I ordered it and received a note two days later saying my order was cancelled due to a lack of inventory. The card is still available locally, but the price applied only to the online store. They will not honor the sale price when they receive new stock. It is unbelievable that a technology company wouldn't have an inventory tracking system for their online store to be able to stop orders from coming in after they run out of stock on an item. I also find it a bad business practice not to honor a price on an order placed if I am willing to wait for the product.
Knowledgeable staff, amazing selection. Was able to find several items I wanted from a wide range of catagories. Staff also helped me identify a problem with my laptop. I was able to fix my laptop with the info provided.
