Very lovely lady named Kaitlyn helped me when I visited. Test drive a few different vehicles. She was very patient, entertaining and understanding, makes ya feel like family. I felt bad though because she did all that work even sacrificed eating just to help us to the best of her abilities, we ended up not getting a vehicle though because i want to be patient this time since i am usually impulsive on everything. She made the experience awesome. I Will be returning soon. Ps there is free coffee there :).

Took delivery of a new Sonota from them for my company car that leases through Enterprise. This place is a joke! I called an hour before arriving and they said it would be ready when I arrived. Got there and the car is filthy, the license plate wasn t installed as they said it would be by the time I arrived. The sales lady that showed me how to use the apple car play and all of the features was the only good thing of this whole experience! She was as helpful as she could be, however the dissatisfaction didn t end at picking up the car. I was told that I could bring back the car to have it detailed later if I d like to. I brought the car up there and they cleaned the outside decently, but the inside windows hadn t been touched. I brought one of the salesman out there and rubbed my finger down the hazy passenger window that was almost not able to see thru when looking into the sun. I told them about the situation and they said to bring it back as the detail guy was on his lunch break now. Ridiculous! The other reason I brought it back was the roar of the tires from 60-65mph. They said the rear tires were out of round and that they showed twice the limit on the road force balance machine. The service manager gave me a sheet of paper that said I needed to go to an authorized Kumho dealer to have them replaced under warranty. I thought this was unacceptable but I went to Kauffman tire and they said that the dealer should take care of this and they gave me a number to call at Kumho. Needless to say I m still getting the runaround on getting these brand new noisy tires replaced. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A CAR FROM THIS PLACE! Take your hard earned money elsewhere!

We had a great experience buying a used car here. Our salesperson was Garrison and we also dealt a good bit with Demetri, the sales manager. They were friendly and responsive, but not pushy. While, they wouldn't negotiate on price, we weren't far enough apart for us to pass-up on the car. Positives: They were very kind, accommodating all of our requests, and easy to work with. They fixed everything on the car that it needed (brakes, tires, etc). We heard something while test driving and they took care of it, replacing the sway bar. So far we are very pleased with the car. After spending quite some time there three days in a row, we feel like we made friends. I would definitely purchase from them again. The detailing was great and they even bought us a tank of gas before we hit the road back to SC!

I am very pleased with my recent experience at Hyundai of Athens. I purchased a 2018 Tucson for my daughter. Joseph, my sales associate was great. He was very knowledgeable and easy going (never pushy or aggressive). The finance team was able to get me in the vehicle at the terms I was looking for. Thanks again Joseph for the great experience.

Dealership does a wonderful job on selling you a car, but service after the fact is lacking. I had to deal with them after my car was totaled and needed all the required paperwork for GAP insurance. Calls were never returned and required multiple visits to get all the paperwork required. When cancelling a warranty program, the dealership was extremely slow in responding not even coming close to the stated time for cancellation.

The experience was awesome! The process couldn t have been better for my daughter Emily. This was her first adult purchase and totally her decision for the next few years financially. We drove from Gainesville to Athens to see one vehicle. Our salesman was named Brian and he not only showed us one car but three others to insure that Emily made the best decision possible. The attention to detail that Brian showed with every vehicle with insights of the pros and cons was encouraging and genuine. Terry was instrumental in crunching the numbers to fit her budget. Terry and Brian sat with Emily answering every question making sure she understood every option they had placed in front of her before she made any decisions. She loves her Santa Fe and continues to talk of her wonderful buying experience. Our family appreciates everyone s hard work to make this moment special. We will definitely be back for our next purchase. Go see Brian and Terry.

Thank you GOD for Keisha Starr at Hyundai of Athens. I came all the way down from Atlanta to have my vehicle serviced after receiving an incorrect quote for new brake pads and shoes over the phone with the call center (I was given a quote that was ridiculously low).She explained the issue and how she could make this experience worth my while. She made sure I was taken care of even though they were overbooked (with my own two eyes they were extremely busy). She is one of the nicest women I have ever met. She literally was my blessing yesterday. I thought I would end up waiting and still being charged the normal price (not the price given over the phone) for the service. She was able to work her magic and offer me a discount. Thank you so much Keisha for going out of your way to help me. You gave EXCEPTIONAL customer service. Hyundai of Athens will always be our preferred choice!!! Thank you for turning this experience around for me. You are THE best at what you do!!!

Forewarning this is long. I showed up for my 930a ...

Forewarning this is long. I showed up for my 930a appointment at 915a, that I had previously made online. However, for some reason my appointment was not in their system. The gentlemen explained they were having issues with the scheduling program. So I let them know that my engine light was on, and it was stalling on stops. I had scanned it with my own scanner, and knew I needed a CKP sensor replaced due to the symptoms and codes. I also let them know I wanted an oil change, and a tire alignment. I offered the codes that scanned but he stated they would be doing their own diagnostic, and inspection (comes with any service) and it would cost 139.99. This fee however would be waived if I chose to get it fixed at the dealership. I let them know I had been their before and understand their policy. Also given I already know what I needEd replaced... I let them know as long as it was fixed that day it wasn t a problem. So I got in the wait room roughly 925 and waited until 1130 for them to come out and let me know what they found on my vehicle. That s 2 hours in a waiting room to then go through paperwork that states exactly what I told them I needed, and why I needed it when I arrived at 915am. Now during this conversation this gentlemen states, the oil change will be this much, you also have 6 bulbs on the back of your vehicle out we noted on the inspection etc. he also states I know you said you wanted an alignment but I took a look at your tires and they aren t that far out of alignment . I then stated, oh ok then don t do the alignment. He then states ok, but you do need a rotation, and a balance. I agreed to this. He also stated that they had to order the part they didn t have one(CKP sensor) I asked when they could have it here, he said mon or tues(can t fix it today like I stated I needed but it s ok). He states they may be able to get it by Monday but it may be extra on the already cost of 250.00. I stated that fine if it s here, that s my only day off and needs to be fixed. He says ok and goes to get started. I then spoke with my bf and he asked about a rental given my car is stalling out randomly and prob isn t safe to drive. So I go out and ask about a loaner car or a rental, gentlemen s states to be honest we have been having problems with the rental site I ll have to talk to my manager and get back to you . I said ok. He comes back states it will be 35 dollars a day their price, ( 2 days ) and I said that s fine. I then speak with my BFF again ( he is working) and explain to him everything and how much it will cost. He says o Reilly s has the part 2 miles away from us he will pick it up on the way home and fix it. I say ok I ll let them
Know to cancel that and the rental. So I let them know and at this point it is 1240pm so now I ve been there 3 hours for all this. So another hour goes by and I m finally ready to go he says your all set. 130pm. They go through the billing before you pay. The oil
Change, the bulbs replaced (which I could have done myself but chose not to) and he goes through states they did charge me the diagnostic and the information about what needs to be on there is there but no charge. Now the last thing is they charged me for an alignment that he told me I didn t need. I then told him I No longer wanted it, he verbally confirmed that in conversation as previously stated in this review. I said So wait you did the alignment with a confused tone , he states, yes they did . Then they went and did it anyway and charged me 89.99 for it...at this point I had been there 4 hours on my only day off as a nurse and just wanted to leave. So I paid the 200 plus dollars for my services and went home. I have owned 4 Hyundai s in life, and plan to upgrade soon to an SUV. However I think I ll shop around.

The entire interaction with David, Terry, and Jared were very positive. David though being new to the job was able to answer our questions and if he didn't know the answer he knew who to go to to get the answer.
This is my 4th Hyundai so I consider myself somewhat a know it all. My first one was when the cars first were introduced and could buy it for $4995.

I am having issues with my 2011 hyandai sonata and I called and spoke with Jesse. He told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it . He fit me in, knowing the issues. He was very professional and they took care of a couple recalls on my car in a timely manner. Very professional. I would recommend.

I will never do business with this dealership agai...

I will never do business with this dealership again! I would rather drive 4 hours to Hyundai of Cookeville in Tennessee than drive the 8 minutes to Hyundai of Athens. Extremely long story short, I purchased a car on 09/07/19 from them under the preface that my Hyundai Palisade Limited would be delivered to me on 09/09/19. By the time I signed the paperwork and gave them my trade in and down payment, that date moved to 09/11/19. They had me driving illegally in a loaner vehicle because it is illegal to drive a car that has a "test drive" or "dealership" tag on it without a sales person in the car with you. I got pulled over while sitting still at a red light and the officer wanted to impound the car and give me a ticket. I was able to walk away with a warning ticket. But the dealership didn't care and just put a "dealership" tag on the car for me to continue to drive illegally. Come 09/11/19 when I was supposed to pick up my vehicle, I left the sales manager 3 messages and my sales rep, who was out due to a family emergency, also left him a message. None of which were returned. We walked into the dealership at 7:00 pm and were told that the vehicle had been sold to someone else the day before! And... he had found this out Tuesday evening; never thought to call me or return any of the 4 messages that were left for him. When I demanded my money, title and trade in back, he said he couldn't do that because the money man was gone but he could get me an AWD for the same price on Friday. I didn't believe him, but my husband wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He didn't deliver that car either. I would love to say they learned their lesson, but just yesterday I was at a restaurant and I heard another couple talking about what happened to them. It was almost the same thing! This dealership with lie and make promises they cannot keep. I am so thankful I found Hyundai of Cookeville. If you want an awesome experience, call them. As for Hyundai of Athens, I will never cross that threshold again.

The service writer was excellent but scheduler of car maintenance needed help. Routine maintenance on Saturdays only( oil changes, tire rotations etc.) had major automotive work scheduled with only 2 mechanics. Oil change and tire rotation took almost 3 hours. Service writer kept me informed about vehicle but won t make that mistake again. Monday thru Friday they have 6 mechanics working. I even had an appointment.

This review is regarding the management of Hyundai of Athens.

I have rated them one star because that is the lowest score you can give. If zero stars were an option, they would have received zero. I recently purchased my second vehicle with Hyundai of Athens, replacing a vehicle totaled in a wreck. The purchase process was quick and simple. Everything that followed was not.

After my purchase in August, I found purchase paperwork in my car from a previous dealership. They had transferred the vehicle from another location to get the exact model with exact options that I wanted. I thought it was suspect when the vehicle arrived "new" with over 400 miles on it. However, they offered gas and car wash vouchers for my trouble (which I have still not received). I contacted the dealership regarding the paperwork, and the manager at the time gave me an unsatisfactory "guess" as to why the paperwork was in the car -- no research, no calls, no explanation as to the reason for it. At the time, I was not overly concerned about the matter, but was at the very least disappointed in the service and care I'd been given.

Mid-October rolls around and my new vehicle registration and licence plate have not arrived. I stop by the tag office to check on it, and the title of the vehicle has not been placed in my name. 50 days later and according to the state, I do not hold ownership of my vehicle. At this point, my temporary registration has expired, and I receive an extension. After a few calls to the dealership, I found they have a new general manager who is very unconcerned with the negligence of his dealership. He gave me a half-hearted promise that he would handle the matter and it would be resolved within the week.

After a full week passes and no movement in my case, I contact the BBB and Hyundai Corporate Customer Care. They assured me that the matter would be handled. I waited another two weeks. After doing so, I contact the dealership again. Another new manager, as well as a separate person brought in to help clean up the mess of the several previous GM's. After literally spending 5+ hour on the phone, two trips to the dealership, and dealing with 3 GM's, the title was placed in my name. I have yet to be given any consideration into the matter of a previous purchase on my vehicle more than three months later.

Avoid this dealership like the plague. The headaches are not worth it.

First of all, they ran my credit multiple times. As of today, 5 companies have came in mail. Second, will not budge on price of used vehicle. 2 weeks after I inquired, vehicle dropped price $500. So they lost the deal over $500. I had ask for price drop of $1,000 in the beginning. Then another salesman calls me the following Monday and I said already been called and told him story and he says let me check into why this happened. Never heard back. Would not have went to them after all this anyway. Would not recommend anyone!

So far, everything has been good. This was my second service visit for my 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The service personnel were very helpful in helping me decide the level of service needed for my vehicle and the service manager was helpful as well. I will be returning for my next service in September!

I had been shopping for Nissan Marano for several weeks and I located one about 65 miles away from where I live. Luckily, my brother lives in the area so he was able to test drive and FaceTime with me so that I could see the vehicle. When my brother said that he was satisfied, that was all I needed to know. I purchased the car over the phone, the team took care of the paperwork and the details and they delivered it to me the next morning. What a fantastic experience buying a car online and having it delivered by the team at Hyundai of Athens. Great experience thanks Jake and Garrison for all of your help.A special thanks to my amazing brother for taking the time to test drive the car, give me his approval and help me to get exactly what I wanted.

Went for an oil change today and was in and out in a timely manner as usual. SOME of the staff could do better with (interpersonal) people skills. Overall, this company does a good job on my car. If it weren't for the (interpersonal) people skills from SOME of the staff, I would have given 5 stars instead of 4.

Would give zero stars if I could. Sales person was nice and fun, but the financial department is among the rudest around. Guy just slammed his fingers on his phone and tried to upcharge us $3000, while saying he didn't have to honor the dealer sale price. Very rude, condescending people. Feel bad for our sales person, but they will continue to miss out on sales if the financial department doesn't try to at least be friendly when they screw you over lol.

We had a dead battery. Got it started by triple A. Headed straight to Hyundai of Athens. We had waited over an hour
Service told us it would be over another hour before it was finished. We had left home as soon as it was up and running. It was past lunch time and needed to get back home. I finally went to ask if we could get a car to go home. Took several minutes and was getting ready to get car when service said that car was ready. I personally felt this was a little long to wait for a battery check.

I had a surprisingly terrible experience! I took my car to our local Hyundai dealership to for a service campaign repair. My interaction with their service employees and managements was very frustrating:

1. They initially claimed that the service campaign does not include the replacement of alternator and they are only responsible for the valve cover gasket. I had to find the service campaign description on the internet! to prove otherwise.

2. They refused to provide a replacement car while my car being repaired, or providing a rental car. After talking to Hyundai USA customer service, I was told to use Uber or rent a car and keep the receipts for reimbursement.

3. The cherry on the top emerged after I picked up the car from the dealership. A couple of days after I took the car, I noticed white steam coming out from under the hood. I popped the hood to find the radiator leaking on the the new alternator that was just installed on the car! so I took the car back to the dealership to have it fixed and they claimed that the leak was there when I took first took the car for repair and I am responsible for the repair! They had no answer when I asked them why they did not bother to tell me about a leak would soon or late ruin the alternator that they just replaced, if it was already in there!

Overall I had a very frustrating experience with this dealership.

The dealership is really inconsiderate to their customers. I have called multiple times trying to get help about my concerns and they have been rude and hung up on. The staff is a pathetic excuse. When I walked into the dealership on two separate occasions the staff weren't doing their job or addressing customer needs. The manager does not know his full information about the company he works for. Overall this dealership is a pathetic excuse for Hyundai. They do not represent their company well in any regards.

My husband and I just bought a Hyundai Sonata from Athens Hyundai and were extremely pleased with our experience. My salesman Joseph Swanner was extremely nice, professional and helpful in my decision making process. We had one of our cars totalled by insurance company so we really did not want a new car or car payment and I had to do most all car hunting by myself. Jake Gilleland was very helpful with giving me different financing options and rebate options to show my husband. They let me take a Sonata home to keep for a few days to let my husband drive and experience.

I AM so happy with my Sonata and my experience with Athens Hyundai. I would 5 Star recommend this dealership to all looking for a car.

I can honestly say this was the best experience i have ever had buying a car. I have had credit problems and been turned down by other dealerships. I was sure this would be the same, but it wasn t even close. They didn t just say oh you re approved and then give me the in around only to find out i couldn t afford the down payment or the monthly payment. I had the pleasure of working with heather Strickland. She took the time to start the process without me coming in because i had had a total shoulder replacement the week prior. They took the time to give me the best possible option so that i was able to handle my payment and start rebuild my credit. I was sure that the car would just be ok and i wouldn t be thrilled for such a low monthly payment, but when she brought the car around i was pleasantly surprised. It was a very nice 2012 Hyundai Elantra limited. I also wasn t feeling too good and they made everything so simple so that i was able to get home. I m so happy with my experience there and in a year, when my credit score is better, will be going back to them to get my suv.

Went in this past weekend for routine oil change/tire rotation. Was told at the end that there were 5 recommended services that needed to be done on my car. These services should have been done 20,000 miles ago, but this was the 1st we have been told...and our car is brought in regularly every 5,000 miles. When asked why it was just now coming up, we were told they must be playing catch up on service orders. Kind of hard to maintain the upkeep of my car when I'm not even told what needs to be done. Glad nothing has gone wrong with my car. Now I have $1000 worth of "work" that needs to be done. Very frustrating. And my tires weren't even rotated because they didn't think they needed it- we get the tires rotated every 10,000 miles and have since we purchased the car 5 years ago.

My experience at Hyundai of Athens was excellent and I would like to express my sincere thanks to the staff, particularly J.D. and Andrew. Being in the hospitality industry I understand and recognize exceptional customer service when I have the good fortune to encounter it, and frankly it is not that often. However, from the moment I walked in the door, which J.D. held open for me, I was treated professionally and with a caring attitude. I was not pressured in the least and was skillfully guided through a Q and A session that led me to the vehicle I ultimately purchased. If the Sonata is as good as the people who helped me through the process I am sure I can look forward to many miles of care free driving.

I also appreciated the willingness to work with me within the price range in which I was comfortable. I believe a good transaction is one in which both parties can walk away satisfied and I can attest from my end that this was one such. Again, my thanks to all those who made my experience at Hyundai of Athens a pleasant one.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience here. They forgot to call me when my car was finished and then closed early. I couldn't reach anyone and ended up having to leave my car for two days.
