Beautiful grounds and nice service. Near many activities.
Beautiful grounds and nice service. Near many activities.
Room was cold when we arrived, no hand soap available, really dry air, toilet door slides so it doesn't fully close, bright light motion-sensor enabled that wakes you up when you want to go to the wc in the middle of the night, non-working ac plugs on the desk, wifi blocks vpn connections.
On the plus side the room was big and the counters felt solid.
Update: after writing the review a little cockroach moved across the nice counter.
First impressions weren't amazing but the next morning was great. Honestly a great area with awesome amenities and good restaurants not too far. If you want a place for the family to spend a few days at this is a great choice.
Stayed there in May 2017 for my anniversary and was very shocked. I personally have been a loyal customer to all Hyatt hotels but this one is definitely not a go to again. Starting from checkin, I had requested early checkin but they still didn't accommodate me early. Then my husband lost his watch in the room and we figured that out second day after check out, I kept calling room service and they said they will check the room and let me know. They didn't call again so I had to call to follow up and they told me they couldn't find it! Even though I was sure it was somewhere in the room. I would definitely not recommend staying there. Add to that rude reception staff.
We had a nice stay at this hotel, but had a terrible experience with their valet service. You have the option of self park $27 or valet $36- we valeted. When we got our vehicle back, multiple things had been stolen from our center console and the rest of the contents were tossed on the seat! The valet staff didn't seem at all surprised (or apologetic) and had us fill out a form. Their insurance has now denied our claim because they apparently have a sign posted?
Either the valet staff were stupid enough to steal from their customers, or they left our car unlocked for anyone to rifle through it.
The hotel was nice but not worth the several hundred dollars' worth of items we've lost, not to mention having to worry about these people having our personal information from our registration, etc.
I wouldn't feel safe staying at this hotel again and certainly would never trust them with my car.
I had a pleasant here. Although I cannot be too extensive about my opinion since I was out most of the time, I enjoyed my time inside. The staff was nice and my room was just what I expected.
Place is outdated . Had to enter room from outside - lots of stairs, not very accessible. I stayed in a building that was under the flight path and outside the pool, very noisy. Had a tricky latch on the door that had to be attended to - Housekeeping didn't quite get it latched so room was left open. Reported it to the front desk. It is in a beautiful area and nice places to walk. Restaurant had good breakfast - The facility is just not what I would expect from a Hyatt.
Annoying WIFI has to be signed into over and over again. You know my name, you know my mac address, quit making me sign in all 3 devices every freaking day.
Room was nice, screen was broken, but there weren't many bugs in the area anyway.
The staff is so friendly and accommodating! The hotel also comes with a ton of amenities! Location is real close to everything!
When you spend money for a 4 or 5 star hotel, you should not hear what sounds like elephants dancing on the floor above.
These ridiculous costs of parking are out of control.
As such, we recond the area and found a beautiful hotel nearby, minutes away from the beach at half the cost.
I hesitate to post the name since it will undoubtedly cost more.
Yet, here it is, Ramada Inn, Newport beach.
Beautiful and comfortable hotel, more like a resort! Great guest service. Close to attractions like Balboa Island and the Peninsula. Was here for a conference, the amenities and space for that were excellent!
Wonderful people and landscape won't even know the weather is there
Well the WiFi cost money, and the breakfast we ordered was a 2 star breakfast at a 5 star price. We didn't even finish our food. Very dissapointing that we thought we ordered a $30 breakfast and ended up paying $50 for food that they probably picked up from denny's
Great bar and the hotel is really nice. They have a nice outdoor patio area
Very well maintained, staff is very helpful and courteous, especially Brian.
Decent location. Too bad didn't get to use the pool.
Room smelled like sewer when we walked in. We had to call maintenance twice to get them to come down. Turned out it was a crack in the toilet.
Room did not insulate noise above us or around us. Lots of people up late at night made it difficult to sleep.
Parking is expensive $20 day.
The service was great, and the hotel is located next to the lake with a nice view. I recommend the Villa rooms. They have a Spanish style with their own kitchen and pool.
Great staff but older facility . Beware of $27 resort fee & $ 27 for self parking per day!
Grounds were pretty. My room smelled musty, and when I entered, the phone was ringing and wouldn't stop. Front desk finally told me to unplug it. The 2nd day I returned to find the bath faucet had the parts that switch the water to the shower pulled out and laying on the edge of the tub. Had to ask front desk to send someone to fix it at 10pm so i could shower for work in the morning. Pools/jacuzzi looked nice, but closed at 10pm even on weekends which was too early for us to be able to use them by the time we finished work and dinner. Open trash cans on property drew in raccoons each evening right next to the main doors and patios.
Sat by the pool with some friends. Service was good. Pool was clean. Staff was professional.
Great room! Very clean, lovely amenities, big bathroom, and awesome feather down pillows. The gym was excellent and the room was very quiet too. Would stay or recommend again without hesitation. Hotel staff was friendly too.
The hotel is very good, clean, large and quiet rooms. It has a pool and jacuzzi area. It is in an area where there is nothing near, you can not walk. Nearby there is a shopping center but you have to go by car. And the angels is an hour away on a road with a lot of traffic. It is ideal to rest. The resort is paid at the hotel and it is expensive, parking too.
It was amazing. We had fun in all 3 of their hot tubs and pool sites
first impression is rather dull. reception is slow & unknowledgable to say the least, seems like our group was talking to zombies. wifi in the lobby doesn't work, physically waited @ reception for toothbrush & toothpaste for 15 minutes. (if they went out to buy it for us, i will take this back & give them an extra star) the bathtub was clogged for all parties, plus the room smells like an old hospital. service was horrible & that's an understatement.
Great place to relax. Came here for a bachelorette party and had a great time. Prices are a bit ridiculous especially given the fact that you ll be buying drinks, tipping servers and valet constantly. It is what it is though, it s Newport.
Room was clean and comfortable. Attentive staff. We had a reception with buffet and drinks that was outstanding. The staff made accommodations for the activities we wanted to hold and all our guests had a great time.
EDIT: The front desk staff was very attentive to our concerns and moved us to a different room for Day Two of our three-day stay. The new room is lovely and we really appreciated the quality of the service. Changed my review from 1 to 4 stars. The reality is that you might end up in a crappy room, but they do have some very nice rooms and the staff will do their best to accommodate changes. The rest of the resort is lovely.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We had heard such great things about the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach and we're really excited to stay there. Boy, were we ever disappointed with our room. It was tiny and very run-down. Nothing like the "luxury" that the marketing purports. Old popcorn ceiling, holes in the walls, dingy carpet, the list goes on. And I'm not usually one to complain, honestly. But add that together with an exorbitant overnight parking fee ($27/night) and it became a totally unacceptable experience.
Nickeled and dimed. Would prefer to pay more for the room than to have all the extra costs - $27 for self parking, $25 resort fee
Very beautiful hotel. It has 3 pools and a 24 fitness center
Great staff great amenities great food and drinks. 3 lovely pools and nice fire pits. Golfing and beach cruisersand tennis and badminton!!!
Zero stars This is by far the worst place I've stayed in.Terrible experience, very poorly managed, extremely disappointed. Paid $316 for 2 queen beds and they give us double bed very small beds couldn't fit 2 people in one bed.Their booking was also wrong.lie to us about free breakfast, when I asked about breakfast told us that cost $50 per room.STAY AWAY FROM THAT TERRIBLE HOTEL.
Had a business meeting there, everything was setup as promised, exceptional service. Everything was on time and as requested
This is an older hotel but in a really great location close to Fashion Island and the beach.
Our room was clean but it was older style and not updated in some time. Air conditioning was added later from a wall unit and did not circulate well in the room.
The lobby and bar area has lots of sitting and relaxing areas. This was a nice touch.
Pool area is large and very busy as it has multiple slides and attractions for kids to keep busy.
Hotel has a very nice tennis court right in front. The interior as you walk in the front has a very low ceiling which gave me a feeling of a lower end hotel. Once you get through the entrance to the bal, it is very nice in the end. The service is also top notch as well.
Beautiful escape with 2 great pools and a water slide
Warm, friendly, comfortable, and family-friendly. A little busy with people, but I like that. The bar turns into a breakfast bar in the morning. The pool has a waterslide.
The Hyatt regency had incredible service and was a beautiful hotel. The pools, golf course, and shuffle board were very fun. Also the gym and lobby were very nice. The restaurant s food was truly excellent. It is a great place to visit and totally worth it. I will come back soon.
Best experience, great room and nice setting areas.
The hotel has a lot of great amenities - 3 pools in different areas, golf course, and 24 hour work outroom. I like the location and the staff were very friendly. They have a menu of convenience items that you can order and have sent to your room. Wonderful lounge areas all over the hotel and you can rent bikes if you would like from here. Great wedding venue also. Giant chess board and convenience store on site as well.
Now the only down side was that in the room there were areas not cleaned very well, corners and inside drawers. The room was basically fine but the vents were NOT clean with lint and very rusty. I dont usually notice that but for two of them to be so dirty was noticeable to me. Still, i would return.
I stayed at the Hyatt the night before and the night of my wedding and was completely disappointed with this hotel stay. The hotel itself is not as nice as the ones around it and the parking lot is a good ten minute walk from the rooms themselves. The TV didn't work from the start and we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come and fix it. Then an hour after arriving we went to the car for more luggage only to return and find the key wasn't working. We had to wait for a housekeeper to let us in. She threw that key away and told us to use the second key. Well after returning from dinner that night and picking up my dress, we found our second key was also not working. I was stuck outside holding my wedding dress for 30 minutes while I waited for a desk clerk to walk the four miles to our room. Bad hotel, bad service, NEVER AGAIN!
Classy, clean, nice views. Architecture is a bit outdated, but it's still a classic that doesn't feel past its prime.
Unsure what type of room it was other than it being for a work conference. Room itself was stylish, clean, and comfortable. The atmosphere was beautiful
Dirty room when I checked in; like beer bottles and dirty towels everywhere. The staff was very apologetic and comped the first day. Outdated furniture, food is so-so (got takeout on our last day), very close to shopping mall, and a hiking trail.
Really nice town n hotel nice we got free parking for the day for the CANA CONFERENCE
Great venue for a concert and terrific hospitality.
Stayed 5 nights! Perfect location, loved the free shuttle service, could've enjoyed every day just lounging around any of their three pools, friendly staff....only providing four stars because of the NON locking, sliding bathroom door. ...ZERO privacy for a mom, dad, and two daughters!
Our room was too hot at night and it was because the air condition was too old to work properly. Also my young son innocently left his wallet on desk not thinking that something will happen. He worked during the whole summer and saved this money for our vacation. $60 were taken from his wallet and after talking to the hotel manager nobody would take responsibility or offer an apology. We were told they subcontract the cleaning crew and the hotel is not responsible for anything that they may do. Very disappointed for the lack of accountability and the zero intent or care for costumer satisfaction.
Wonderful historical gem with resort campus feel. Not your typical box hotel. 3 pools to choose from. Beautiful wedding location as well. The little 9 hole golf course is included when staying on property, great for working on the short game. Something for everyone.
DISHONEST PRICING. I booked this hotel for $119/night only to find out on check out that they tack on an extra $54 for things like being able to send faxes and make personal calls. Since I don't need to send messages by dinosaur and have my own phone, I would have preferred to stay somewhere else with an honest price.
UPDATE: Spoke with the billing manager and she explained that they bury the additional fees in the find print and don't include the resort fees in the "Total price" and it's my fault for not reading the fine print and stupidly assuming that the amount marked "Total Price" was actually the total price.
The service i got was great. The rooms were very clean and i truely enjoyed my stay there
So much fun!!! Luxury hotel with an adults only pool and a family pool that has a splash pad, water slide and lawn games like connect 4 and cornhole. :-) Staff was excellent!!!!
A very nice Hotel resort that offers perfect get away weekend vacation with the family.
Conveniently located near Balboa Island and the Fashion Island shopping mall.
Also great bicycle ride right next to the hotel along the Bay and the natural preserve area.
Not a strong 4-star hotel for me. Room, tv service, and a few other amenities can be better.
Had a wonderful Birthday with Common truly amazing experience! A very incredible beautiful person inside and out! Thank you Common and The Hyatt for a Beautiful Birthday Evening!
Beautiful spot with a pool and hot tub. I heard the food is overpriced and leaves much to be desired, so consider going to one of the many delicious restaurants nearby or get something delivered.
Beautiful, classic hotel resort. Has that classic southern California feel, great mix of palm trees and pools. Have stayed here many times for business conferences, the staff is excellent, and the food they provide is amazing especially considering how many people they can provide it for. Have stayed in 5 different buildings on the property, they all had their charmb all very clean and up to date. This time they had added motion sensor lights that came on from beneath the bedside tables to help you navigate being in strange surroundings in the middle of the night. Details like that help make this place phenomenal.
Price was great for location, but the hotel itself wasn't up to standard. I really wish I would've taken pictures. All the pool lounge chair pillows and cabanas are nasty. Dirt, mold stains and rust. I loved the setting and ambiance there, but those rooms really need some remodeling. The area where weddings are held, however, is GORGEOUS and picture perfect. Walking around the grounds is perfect scenery and peaceful.
Was put in the renovated motel portion and it still felt like a motel. Awkward rooms, could hear the neighbors TV constantly, and there were a few gnats constantly, the Jacuzzis didn't always work.
Very nice resort tucked away in Beautiful Newport Beach. Not the most modernized resort but very nice and relaxing. Plenty of pools and activities for the kids too.
Great big place, it would be nice if they offered free parking for guests.
We went to shor for dinner and it was wonderful! Great staff!
Here for a conference. Very nice hotel with a large facility. Room service is about what you can expect from a hotel of this level. King size room is spacious and comfortable. No complaints about cleanliness so far. Walls are a little thin, can hear people pretty clearly talking in the hallways while they walk by, has been pretty quiet for the most part.
Okay. Room was adequate. Hyatt is usually better. Staff very friendly
Very nice place. Great conference rooms. Very confusing layout
Damien Escobar and Mike Phillips was off the chain the concert was great my company was bad but the concert was great and the seating is just a little bit too close not everybody's skinny and 120 lb they need to put more space between the chairs but other than that it was off the chain Hyatt newporter rocked
No
We had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach! They have three pools, including a quiet adults only pool that we found incredibly relaxing. The gym is also quite large and modern. We can't wait to come back :)
Love this hotel. Staff was awesome and extremely attentive. It s beautiful and so relaxing. I highly recommend staying here when you travel to Newport Beach.
