Stayed here 3 nights for a wedding. Our registration was 2 stars (room wasnt ready). The golfing attached to the resort is 1.5 stars (don't get your hopes up). Everything else is 4-5 stars. Very friendly, nice staff, decent rooms (stay in the main hotel) and nice grounds.

It is a little too old. Beautiful size lot could be turned into very nice and up to date resort. Part of the hotel closer to the pool stinks very bad. Hard to pass by to get to the parking. Hyatt Regency????

Meh. Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. It felt like a motel 6. Dirty, uncomfortable beds, very low ceilings, claustrophobic. Also has ridiculous parking and resort fees that aren t mentioned when you book. I m glad my company paid for this stay otherwise I would be super annoyed.

If I could rate this institution 0 stars I would. First they oversold the hotel to a point that there was a line on unhappy guests at the desk without any rooms to put them in. I had 3 different people help me with no straight answer from any until they said that they did not have any more rooms in the hotel. They said they would work to get the guests other hotel reservations and transport them over at no cost as we say there for 30+min at 11pm with no answer or updates to only have someone stick there head out to say they were checking with the manager on progress . All of the customers booked their own hotel rooms elsewhere at their own cost as the Hyatt was unable to expediently provide myself and any other guests with hotel rooms. The Hyatt should be disgraced by this level of service. I will never recommend another person to stay at a Hyatt hotel for as long as I live.

Beautiful resort! The room was fairly average and the mini fridge wasn't working when we got there. I noticed some ice build up in the back of the fridge that I took the in room blowdrier to. That melted it down in about 5 minutes which did the trick. The maids were really nice which made it a pleasant stay.

Nice hotel with clean, well designed rooms. The hotel bar is nice too and converts into a coffee stop in the mornings, which is neat. The pool is large and there is a hot tub. My one issue is that some of the rooms are quite a long walk from the front desk which, when you are exhausted and carrying many bags, can feel like a serious haul. But that is minor. Overall, nice place.

Stay overall was good. Gym was nice and the stationary bikes outside were great. Room was clean but kind of cold, especially around the restroom area. The only gripe I have is the service charge of room service. For the service charge, I would expect more of a refine touch with the utensils and dishwares, rather than a Togo cup or plasticwares.

We booked Hyatt Regency Newport Beach for my best friend's bachelorette weekend and could not have been happier with the space, the service, and the amazing, accommodating staff. We asked for A LOT of help and they were always more than willing. We appreciate all the great service and employees!

The hotel and surrounding area is beautiful. It is tucked just inside of Back Bay in Newport. I enjoyed a drink with friends in their lounge, the decor was very modern, staff was friendly and service was great. It's a wonderful place to come if you are a local, or just visiting from out of town.

A little disappointed to be honest. The bar and food is way overpriced, but the staff is nice. The water slide closes at 4 during the week. If you're looking for adventure out for the day and come back and relax you need to slide that right out of your equation. The rooms are ok, the Balboa building is much nicer than the Lido building.

This place is lit. The bar is Manhattan-style expensive and you can hear footsteps from your upstairs neighbors if you're in a first floor unit, but the price and Newport location can't be beat.

The grounds are amazing and beautiful. The gym is fantastic because no one uses it. There's a Peleton that you absolutely have to try. Great way to stay in shape and will likely make you consider buying one.

This place hosts tons of events so you're probably here for a wedding. Outdoor space is perfect for it. Grab a beer and sit outside and just people watch and then take an uber to some popular spots in Newport.

Stellar bar staff. As a business traveler I have hit my fair share or hotels and I must say the Jeff and Todd run a great bar. Excellent service, great food. Proximity to my work is definitely walkable. Truly a pleasure while I stayed.

The hotel is great for families. There are 3 pools. One of which has a splash pad and waterslide. They give you kids cups with straws when you check in that they fill whenever asked. The one thing that was a but of a hassle was the distance the parking lot is from the rooms. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but not the most convenient, either.

Extremely pleasant staff, clean rooms, and well maintained property. The only thing is I'd skip the room upgrade. I visited other rooms that had better views without the fee, but what do you do? Less than 7 minutes away from shopping, bikes available to rent, and lots of places that deliver if you don't care for room service. I did dine at the restaurant onsite, the veggie burger was DELICIOUS.

Excellent hotel, I love the service and the property is beautiful. They have a great fitness center and the pools are great. There is even a waterside on the big pool. There is a little putting green and everything.

Don't be fooled, this is a 3-star at best establishment. Very unbefitting of a Hyatt Regency. The Location is pretty amazing, and that it pretty close to where the positives end.

Some of the rooms are a decent size, but you will still have the awesome joy of hearing the airplanes taking off from nearby John Wayne airport through the windows of your room. Walls are pretty thin too, so other noises from nearby guests can also be heard.

The staff is nice, so theres that. But we were expecting a call from the manager over the condition of our room, and never got that call. When we talked to him, he stated that he knew we had issues with our stay, but he was never informed that he needed to call us.

After checking out, the self parking gate would let us leave either, so we had to go to the lobby to get that fixed.

This is a property that Hyatt would be better off selling and cutting their losses, or putting a few million dollars into for renovations. Only stay here if you can't find any other place to stay and it's under $80 a night; and if you're company if hosting an event here, maybe put in a suggestion to find an alternative. This place needs some serious help.

The resort is very nice, and we stayed using free nights from World of Hyatt. The room was a bit smaller than we were used to, and because we were using World of Hyatt points and booked at the last minute they had to give us an ADA compliant room (so the bathroom was configured different, with only a very small counter for the sink and no door on the shower), but we still had an enjoyable time. It's minutes from Balboa Island, which is one of my favorite places to visit and the trails around the back bay are awesome.

We were there to drop an out of town friend off. It was such a beautiful night, we were invited to walk around a bit and then have s'mores around the firepit. So we saw the grounds, and pools, and walked through the lobby and other common areas for people to just relax in. Every thing was beautifully done. I would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency to our out of town friends and family when they come to this area! ( our friend raved about it)Oh! And the s'mores were great too!

The bed was as comfortable as most hotel beds, and the maid service was excellent. Room service is from Hecho, the sushi and tequila bar downstairs, and I had both dinner and breakfast room service, and both were excellent (yes, a tad pricey but all room service is expensive).

Our 3 bedroom villa (with private pool) turned out to be an economical choice, but wasn't nearly as new, luxurious or well maintained as their sister property at Huntington Beach, which is where we usually stay.
The Newport Beach hotel also has less outdoor lounging locations & restaurants and (critically) does not have direct beach access.

Fantastic place. Service is kind, prompt, and very knowledgeable. Rooms are clean and well-kept. Pools are lovely and clean. I didn't have much time to take advantage of them being on business, but the various recreational amenities, such as golf, bicycling, and more seemed to be a major attraction, and would suit me well were I on vacation.

The whole campus is lovely and the features are all quite attractive, however the room itself (in the Balboa building) was fairly boring. This isn't enough to recommend somewhere else above this, though I had expected more for the price I was paying--a little more creativity and style. Perhaps an area for improvement.

Ac unit leaked water all over my clothes and barely worked. When we called front desk the service guy said when he saw how dirty the filters were we cant keep them all clean. And that the leak was just water condensation. So i wont be staying there again.

We recently spent 16 days there. The entire staff is the friendliest and most knowledgeable in the business. Every day when we drove out we were ask if we needed directions etc. My only negative comment is I wonder why there aren't towel racks in bathroom to reuse towels. With the water shortages in CA more towel racks should be installed. The location is perfect.

PS windows could be cleaned from time to time.

This is a great hotel location and layout and is very comfortable. The parking situation is a real down side, cost and location of the lot, use the valet. Also your room can be far from the check-in, so get a ride in their golf carts. Nice lounge, restaurant, and great hang out area outside on the back porch.
