The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a beautiful resort overlooking Newport Dunes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and tastefully decorated. We were served lunch. The food was very good and the couscous was excellent.

The resort was okay but they charge $27 for parking which was wasn't owned by them so there was no way out of it. It was mostly annoying that it was kind of far from the hotel so you would have to walk far every time you needed to get to the car. We also got locked out of our room because the batteries on the door lock went low and we were treated like intruders trying to break into someone else room until they realized their master keys were not working either.

Great places to stay in Newport Beach. However the properties rooms are getting a little dated and definitely could benefit from a update. The outdoor space is excellent. They have a nice kids pool with a water slide which is a nice afternoon. They also have a great place to have outdoor parties with a wine room. The lobby and restaurant are both good, of course because they're in the hotel they're very pricey for what you get.

Love the quiet property..but come on . This is 2020.
Carted my recycling to the Hyatt in Huntington beach where I am staying for a race.

My partner and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Newport location. The grounds were very pretty, whoever, the rooms were not Hyatt quality. We have stayed at a few Hyatt hotels and have been happy every time, excluding this one.

When we got to the hotel, it was fine. All of the employees were kind and welcoming. When we got to the room, that was not the case at all. There was what looked like vomit stains on the curtain leading to the balcony, red stains on the carpet and our air conditioner didn't work. The furniture was old and had paint chipping and there were cobwebs and water damage, causing the wall paper to peel. It was horrendous for the price we paid and quality we have come to expect with Hyatt.

We went for breakfast and tried to leave the self parking area, only to find the exit barrier was not working. We pushed the help button and sat there for nearly 10 minutes and no one came to help. We eventually pulled back and went through another exit that allowed us to leave. When we came back, that same exit that gave us issues was closed but this time, we held our room key to the pad and the actual pad itself came off. I communicated all this to the manager and she switched our rooms but told us the room wouldn't be available until later and that they would call us when it was ready. I got the call that it was ready and the woman on the phone told me that someone would be right up to move us over, but after 25 minutes of waiting for someone, I went down and got the key to the new room myself. They apologized but this caused us to be late for our dinner plans. Had I known it would take that long, I would have asked if they would move our stuff while we were out.

The new room had the same old furniture with chips and wear in the paint and cobwebs. I again, explained all of this to the manager upon checking out and she apologized and waived our parking fees for the self parking barrier hassle but made no mention of any compensation or apology for the quality of our room. As we went to leave for the last time, the barrier was again not working and this caused 4 cars to be stuck. I will never be returning to this Hyatt location.

This is my first time visiting California, and the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach is outstanding. The staff and breakfast buffet are beyond incredible. I would love to come back again in the future.

Wonderful property with an exceptional staff. Extremely accommodating, so much so that we booked another night. Great front desk staff and all employees were met with a smile and a warm greeting.

From their bar, to their beds, the Hyatt provides a fantastic 5 star experience at a reasonable price. Having stayed there for a company event, I got to experience the best of what Hyatt had to offer with respect to their conference style lunches, with ripe, fresh, delicious ingredients laid out beautifully to setup ones' plate. The wifi was solid, and the beds comfortable enough. There was a very beach-house vibe in the style of the area I was at, it was cool. The bar was solid and they poured reasonably. The only complaint I can levy is that their service times in their Short restaurant during breakfast we're pretty poor. It took 15 minutes for me to get a simple acai bowl, and only because I reminded the waiter and he brought it right out after that. Otherwise, a great place with friendly staff!

Beautiful hotel, had an issue with the room but theservice desk handled it well and made sure we got a complimentary breakfast. We were down there for a business trip and a little relaxation. It would be a good idea if you can to stop by a stote for snacks before heading to the hotel if you are coming from the airport because there isn't a store in that area of town. However it is truly a beautiful hotel and cannot wait to visit this place again.

The fire alarm went off at 3:00 a.m. for 10 seconds. The staff must have been complicit for it to be that short. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well.

For a mandatory $31 "resort fee," I got two bottles of water. The hotel itself isn't so great as to warrant the fee. It isn't particularly close to the beach.

The hotel is big, so I do understand how busy and hectic can get but... this picture was from inside of a drawer in the nightstand it was sticky sorry but when it comes to cleanliness ... is when I really have a problem. So I let that go. I walked to the curtain to close it and I found an ugly bug it was there!!! . I couldn t sleep because I saw more things... maybe it was me with my craziness...I took more pictures where you can see it is nice. The gym is good, they have those peloton bikes, and regular machines. The employees in the morning were very nice. So my take is expensive yes, worth it?? If you are going to visit Balboa Island and want 3 swimming pool

Small-scale rooms, but we didn't spend much time there. Very private, multiple pools, with some clearly meant for kids/families, very good poolside service, unfortunately when we visited the restaurant did not have their chef, so the food was lacking and very very slow. Good news is that the hotel comped our meal and drinks when it took an hour and a half for the kitchen to make our meals. all in all the service and staff was amazing, no complaints.

The golf course by the Hyatt Newport has great views!! It s a short course and can be done in about an hour. Reservations are not needed just walk on with a few clubs and no bag. Highly recommend this for beginners and golfers that play a few times a year. Very enjoyable!!!

We came here for a short weekend trip and had a great experience. It's very close to Balboa island - we walked there in about 15 minutes to avoid taking the car, and I think they also have a shuttle that'll drop you off at certain times. There are lots of amenities (golf, bike rental, tennis, etc) that we didn't have time to take advantage of this trip, though we did use 2 of the 3 pools on the property (water was a very pleasant 84 degrees). Room was large and comfortable. In short, no complaints! (FYI: there is a parking fee of $27/night)

Great location for our stay with our kida. Very accommodating when we asked for a room close the pool and the kids loved the pool area. The only thing I thought was a bit steep was the $27 per day parking that they charge.
