Upon arrival in Maui off a Carnival Cruise, Legend ship, we took an excursion that included a Luau at the Hyatt Regency and were delighted with the experience.

The dancers were superb, the atmosphere friendly and welcoming and the food delicious. Highly recommend.

It's a low key resort with beautiful grounds right on the beach and lots of amenities. Haven't eaten here yet, but have enjoyed our stay. The staff has been great. The only downside is our power went out and the first day only 1 elevator was running while they expected 800+ of our group to check in! Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Hotel overall is ok. 90% of the rooms need renovation badly. Especially for the room rate they charge. Our room was the mountain view with a king bed. The bathrooms are tub showers and have the toilet right next to the shower, not much room at all to move around. One sink. Mattress was at least 5 years old, spring mattress. And what hotel doesn t have a fan in the bathroom? Also everything here is super over priced.

For a resort experience, it doesn t get much better than the Hyatt on Maui. Not only for the resort itself but for the best beach access on the whole island. Amazing views, the rooms are great, and the pool is one of the best I ve ever seen. Had an amazing time, totally worth it.

The stay was good, clean room and excellent pool area to relax. Special mentions to Gabriel who worked the pool during the day - great service! Also to the very nice man who works in concierge - A pleasure to converse with. Unfortunately I cant give 5 stars to this hotel as some of the staff there are just plain rude and under trained. 1st Valet inquired about a shuttle into Lahaina. Was told yes that wouldnt be a problem and even one of the drivers went to get a car to take us. Just as we were about to get into the car a more "important" couple came along and we were told sorry the car is for them! All we got was "i can call you a taxi" yeah I no thanks I can do that myself. Fine there may have been a mix up but own your mistake and make sure your guest feels as special as the next guest regardless of perceived status. 2nd I misplaced my wallet somewhere in the last few days of my trip and definitely had it arriving at the hotel. Called when I got home and spoke with security, the guy was less then helpful and had a bad attitude, he informed me yes they had found a wallet but the ID didnt make my name. Asked if it was worth me calling back in a few days got told "its up you" and hung up on. I did call back a few days later and spoke to an even more unhelpful guy was told NO WALLET had been handed in since October I'm confused! I dont care about bank cards or ID as they can be easily replaced by that wallet had some very important things it. Anyway to get to the bottom line I have suggestion for the hotel train your less senior staff heck of better then you do right now as every interaction reflects on your hotel. Can't say i'll be back at this Hyatt or any other

This is a genuinely beautiful place in a great location. The rooms are very comfortable and the cleaning staff thorough. The pool is hands-down the best I have ever been in (clean, has 4 waterfalls, and depths from 3 ft to 9 ft). Also, my favorite part of the resort, the garden, penguin exhibit, and koi pond. They have so many gorgeous birds and fish! This place is wonderful inside and out.

Awesome resort. Stayed there for a week. We had a ground level floor so it was easy to just head right out to the beach. Rent snorkeling gear and boogie boards from another place because it's way too expensive at the hotel. The snorkel store is good option. Its right by the hotel and super cheap for good equipment. They have nice pools and a great beach. The parking spaces in the lot are super tiny though. Hard to park late at night when there's only a few spots left. Over all I enjoyed the stay so I would recomend this resort to anyone coming to visit maui. It's in. Great location to see all the top things to do. Right in the heart of great snorkeling territory. And it's only about 45 minutes from the airport.

The view here is spectacular. The pools are great and kid friendly you can even use the pools at the Hyatt residence. There are many people trying to sell timeshares, but if you mind your own business you'll be fine.

Stayed here for a week right after Hurricane Lane and was impressed with the service and atmosphere. We are members of the World of Hyatt so we got all the goodness that comes with that. Loved the Regency Club; breakfast, snacks, coffee and dessert all day.

10 stars for customer service, valet parking, landscaping, hospitality, food, natural lighting, etc....The animals are breathtaking and such a great feature. We asked for a room with the best view and were surprised upon arrival with the most amazing view. We got a couple s night to go on the rooftop and stargaze. They were wonderful and it was exactly the getaway we paid for and needed. Thank you Hyatt!!!!! We are coming back someday!

I have visited many hotels and seen a lot of architecture around the world, but hey - If you want to see one of the most magnificent breathtaking hotel lobbies - take a look at the Hyatt resort in ka'anapali and behold the work of man! That tile mosaic they have must be 50 feet high of one inch square tiles - whoever laid that, wow! Then there are the towering palm trees inside the courtyard, at night with the lighting design they have - it really is something else. Huge support columns holding up the hotel gives a giant airy awesome impression - I definitely was not expecting anything like that to be built in hawaii. Glad I visited! Aloha!

We are stayed at the Hyatt regency. I sort of regret choosing this place. I hate to leave a negative review but we travel often and been to a million resorts and this is by far one of my least faves. I would give it a 3.5. I feel like for the price we are paying it could have been better. It is a pretty resort and they maintain it nicely. It is also very kid friendly and has a paved handicap access which is good for parents traveling with strollers. But my room is just a normal hotel room. I hate the bathroom it looks old and dated. When we arrived the toilet had wet stains on it, I actually had to wipe it down with baby wipes I did not complain, I mean what would they have done apologized? Switched rooms? It seems they nickel and dime everything at the hotel and it is a little annoying but it is a tourist spot so I suppose it makes sense. Oh well we are first timers. But in the future we will probably choose a different place or perhaps even a condo or air bnb.

Beautiful property. The pool is excellent. Some decent snorkeling off of their beach. Pretty good boogie boarding off of their beach. Best location of all the resorts on the row. Limited as far as breakfast and dinner options. Parking is expensive. The shave ice place and the property is top notch! Probably the best on Maui!

My family and I had a great time here. Great ocean view room. The restaurants were good. The staff was friendly. It could get a bit noisy at night since there are so many events here, but a small proc to pay. You can walk along the beach and visit a few other hotels. There us a mall attached to the hotel if you need to purchase something in a hurry. The rooms were a good size and the beds fairly comfortable

Excellent service and beautiful location. Having shops on property that sell things I actually need and want were a big plus. I didn t eat much on property but the drinks were very tasty. The gym is fully equipped and a good size. Even though it is at the end of strip, it is only a 15 minute walk to Whalers village where I had several meals and shopped. Black Rock was at the other end but worth the 20+ minute walk to snorkel with turtles and colorful fish. Great property for the whole family.

My girlfriends and I had an exceptional week at The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. The location is perfect on a gorgeous stretch of beach. The variety of pools, waterfalls and water slides provide plenty of options. The food everywhere was excellent. The penguins are adorable. All the staff, valets, concierge service was friendly, warm and helpful. We felt right at home while living in the lap of luxury. The room was spacious and immaculate. Love this place!!

We come to the Hyatt every few years for a confere...

We come to the Hyatt every few years for a conference, and compared to the last time we were here 6 years ago things have gone downhill. First, when making our reservation they did a bait and switch on room pricing (quoted one price on a "2 bedroom" suite upgrade for the week and then came back a few weeks later saying that quoted price was per night) after it was too late to make reservations elsewhere. Next, we found out the "2 bedroom" suite they advertised is actually a 1 bedroom (second room has a seating area with a hideaway bed) and the bathroom is only accessible by going through the master bedroom. Third, once we got here we noticed a lot of maintenance issues. This hotel has not been maintained well and there was obvious water damage on the ceiling in our room. On top of all that, prices are high and they nickel and dime for everything. At least the wifi is decently fast and free (once you give them your email so they can send you marketing emails anyways). This hotel is in a beautiful location right on the beach and has beautiful grounds, but it's not the only game in town. Stay at one of the other hotels in the area and get a day pass for the pools until management improves.

This was our second time at this beautiful hotel in the great Ka'anapali Beach area. There are a lot of things to enjoy here, penguins, flamingos, luau, and the best pool area on the beach. The pool has a special kids area, grotto bar behind waterfalls, water slides, and plenty of chairs for lounging. Highly recommend and will continue to return when on Maui.

We stayed here twice in the last three years. The rooms are great the location better and this time there was a chance for us to go snorkeling right off the shores of the hotel which happened to be better than any snorkeling I've paid for while vacationing in Hawaii.

Kids are welcome too! There got attractions and a great pool for them (we brought our 18 month old and he had a blast wading in the water and playing on the beach)

This review is specifically for Danica. I highly recommend seeing her. There were some parts of the experience that were kinda bumming me out to be honest. Danica really went the extra mile to make our stay excellent. I think that staff of a resort like this can really make the difference between a terrible time and a great time. So a big thank you to Danica and the entire staff, everyone overall was very responsive and impressive.

Resort - This place is huge with the following shopping stores, restaurants , animals around the property, and so much more.

Staff - Friendly staff everywhere willing to help with anything you need, except for one lady that gave me wrong directions around the grounds.

Pools - Large pools with plenty of seating and lifeguards.

Food - Restaurants serve really good food here.

Overall its a nice resort worth checking out as a couple or a family.

Drinks are pricey(most resorts are) but the staff are super friendly and accomodating. Even the security guards are fun to hang out with. Hot tubs are great and the views are pretty spectacular. First resort in the golf course and easily accessible from the main road. The main atrium is something out of a travel magazine.

Well we didn t stay at the Hyatt but I wanted to leave a review on the luau that we did there.
But first I ll start by giving my first impression on the resort. It s over rated. Not very authentic. Very touristy, so I suppose it s good for those who don t like experiencing the real Hawaiian culture.
Went to the bar at their out door pool before the luau. $25 for 1 small beer and a skinny margarita... that s before tip. They ignored us for a good 10 minutes while they chit chatted upon each other.
Anyways, on to the luau
The only reason we agreed to pay $130 for a 3 hr show was the website stated all you can eat, all you can drink!
Which I was PISSED to find out they shut down the bar AND the buffet before the show even starts!
Last time I checked that s defiantly not all you can eat, all you can drink. I was still very thirsty.
You can t even taste the alcohol in the drinks unless you paid $30 to upgrade to top shelf alcohol.
But even then it wasn t worth 1 hr of free drinks.
I didn t even get a good buzz going before the show.
The show it s self was ok.
They were good at what they did but they could have gone into more detail of their history?
Seemed very shortened.
I ended up googling a lot about their history because I was still very curious.

The only reason I didn t make a deal to the workers was because it was my friends birthday and I didn t want to be that person
Over all my opinion is, it s a tourist trap.
Ask locals if there s any better ones.
Hopefully they will actually help you out.

No contest, the best hotel in Maui. Excellent service. Breathtaking views. This hotel sits right on the ocean and hosts many great restaurants, shops, animals, water activities and tours. They also have 5 pools, one of which is an infinity pool. A must visit when in Maui Ka'anappalli.

I love the resort! They were great to deal with. The view for partial ocean was more of a garden view and I would go for the ocean view or ocean front. Everything is very convenient at that location including shops, restaurants and swimming either in the ocean or pool. I hope to go back as soon as I can.

This place is amazing. Love it great beach, pools, amenities, location. The bad things are the sales pitch offices for the time shares, 1 in each tower, 1 on the way out, 2 out by the pool and one to the beach. It is annoying they are very pushy too. Drinks are good but WAY overpriced, save some money and go next door to the Marriott and go drinking there. 1/2 price but that's Maui and a resort. The food is so horrible. Nothing here is good. Its super overpriced, and very low quality do not eat here. But definitely stay here

Absolutely love this place. The hotel grounds are gorgeous. The pool is huge and absolutely stunning. There is tons to do and see everyday. Poolside grill is also very good, I recommend the fish tacos. If you are looking for an amazing and unforgettable place to be married, this is it! There is beach access at this hotel; however, the beach is small and you can't get in the ocean easily in front of the hotel as there are too many sea urchins and rocks. This is one my favorite places to stay in Maui.

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa was good. It could have been a lot better if an unprofessional front desk manager by name Rea Munich did not ruin our final day. This manager Rea Munich literally harassed us with calls every 5-10 minutes and had house keeping knocking on our hotel room door at the same time for the last 30 minutes after she made us aware checkout time was 1pm and she had to enforce it. I told her since she just made us aware that we will get ready as soon as possible. We started parking and there came the second call and the second knock on the door, then the 3rd call and a knock on the door. The manager then told us she was getting somebody up to get our luggage out. At this point I was boiling inside and I told her if she was escorting us out of the room she should so declare it otherwise I didn t need her help to get my luggage out. My wife hadn't taken her shower but the harassment was so much she had to give that up. We had a late flight out of Maui at 10pm so we thought we could hang around the hotel a little after the 1pm checkout. At the front desk, I noticed I was charged $75 for late checkout. This manager came out and we argued over it until she finally decided to waive it. Then my parking access was also removed so I couldn t get out or back in until it was reasonable time to leave for the airport. Man, talk about a terrible customer experience on a very expensive trip. The final day was terrible terrible terrible. There are similar if not better hotels around the Lahaina beach. If you don t want to deal with these unprofessional front desk managers then you have the power of choice in your hands. Better hotels all around the beach. Aloha!

Loved everything about this resort and can't wait to go back! The rooms were clean and nice. The drinks and food were great. It was centrally located, within walking distance to other restaurants. Yoga, the gym, the pools, the tennis courts, and their activities were awesome. I loved seeing the penguins every day too.
The only drawback was that it was a long drive to Hana and to the Halekala Crater. If your plan is to explore the island every day maybe stay closer to the center of the island. Otherwise five stars, stay here!

Horrible would never stay here again.
Said we would have a partial view of the ocean, which means you can see a little bit of the ocean and also your neighbors on their balcony, great privacy, not! Have to pay $22 for self parking which is a hike also hopefully you have a small car if not good luck trying to fit in the spots. Air conditoning in rooms sucks! Rooms are hot! The valet and bell boys were not the friendliest always had to ask for help never got offered. Shops and Restaurants are so over priced! I'm trying to think of something positive but i just cant. I would NEVER recommend this place.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency from 2/23-3/1 for a conference my husband had there also our babymoon. Great views and some staff was great. I do however have a few complaints. There was a piece of floss left behind our bathroom door from the previous occupants for a few days and blood splatter on the bathroom door and frame that I had to call to have cleaned. I was told management would contact me and no one ever did. Also the maids came into my room 3 times in one day, once around 10 which I sent them away, 2nd time while my husband and I was gone from 12-3, I came back to nap before our Luau and messed the bed up that was made then once at the luau they came again and re made my bed. I thought this was odd. Also I had a wallet taken, my phone went into a magnetized phone case, I would take my phone out to take pics so I decided to leave the case in my suitcase (not needing my cards) so I didn t loose it. We never took it from the room. The day we left I naturally thought about the fact I had not seen it when I packed up (not needing it at all cause we used my husbands cards) so my husband and I unpacked completely in the airport and it was not there and called to let the Hyatt know, once home we unpacked again and didn t find it. I called the Hyatt again to let them know and the security I talked to made me feel as if I was lying, I don t thing our maids who have been here 20 years would do that. He also questioned every thing and said things like and you re now just calling when it had been 2 days after coming home. I fully believe nothing will be done about it but thought it was odd that the maids came into the room 3 times a day, I wish I felt more taken care of with this and the dirtiness of the room. We ve stayed at the Hyatt in Kauai and it was by far a nicer hotel.

This is a 3.5 star facility at best. It is independently operated. Front desk staff need to be made aware of how there indifference comes across. Facilities are small but adequate. Steam room is off, but a small unmarked button on the outside must be pressed and held to turn it on. Earl gave a very good massage. Signage from the Hyatt Regency to the spa is lacking. Would expect more from a Hyatt and from a Branded Spa.

It was good because it s Maui. Other than that it s an okay resort. The food was great. Breakfast included but the restaurant s on the property were very expensive. On my arrival, many guests had grocery bags and take away from nearby restaurants.
Room service left much to be desired. Had to strip the bed, put everything on the floor in order to get new sheets. It was difficult to know the layout of the resort. Where s breakfast? Where s the complimentary towels? Other guests were the best in knowing where to go. Gotta day the pillows were great as was the food at breakfast. The pools were fine. Though access to the beach was limited because saving the sand dunes. I get that. But at least offer an alternative. My stay for one week was average. Nothing to brag about the resort but just happy to be in Maui.

we had a great experience here in the ocean front room at the Hyatt. Highly recommend grabbing an ocean from room as the sun sets are absolutely beautiful. It's worth the the money if you're here to stay on the beach.

There are lots of pools to choose from some deep, some shallow there's something for everybody. The property is absolutely beautiful with lots of flamingos and swans along with some penguins that you can hang out with.

If you want to check out a luau the drums of the Pacific was a fun one with lots of dancing all evening long.

We had a great time here, and would love to stay here again in the future.

Service was less than personal, often left dirty dishes on our table. It was very expensive$32 per person. Hope management addresses theses issues. We have had better experiences in the past.

I gave it a 3 star because I feel that the rooms need to be updated it s old however the outside is beautiful. And we paid 80 dollars for breakfast only for 2 it s 32 dollars each for a buffet and you have to leave a 15 percent tip when all they do is give you coffee the rest you get yourself even regular drinks it s crazy in other stAtes you leave a few dollars for that not 15 when all they do is give you coffee a lot of people were complaining about the same thing the rooms on the pictures is not what you get even with the beach view rooms

This property has gorgeous views, not a great beach, but doable. The atrium area is pretty cool with the penguins.
You can walk over to the Swan Pond, which is also neat for everyone.
The pools are laid out nicely, but slightly cooler than one would expect.
Rooms are clean and you get the option of refusing housekeeping for $10 in credits each day or Hyatt points.

We stayed here for a week and had the best time both on and off property. Kids loved all the cool animals and the pool features (grotto, slide). The manager and entire staff did a great job making sure we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend this resort to friends and family.

The Hyatt is a bad hotel that is old, dated, and has bad service. The staff and management are not very accommodating. Their primary concern is to be fully booked. As a result, you have a very crowded resort with poor customer service. Our room had a major leak in it which resulted in wet carpet and a bad stench.
I would recommend not staying at this resort for various reasons: inconvenient location, crowded resort, weird layout of pool, narrow beach, poor restaurant choices nearby and a very tired looking room interior.
If you go to Kaanapali beach, I would recommend staying at the Westin Resort and Spa which has always given us great service and is conveniently located next to Whaler's Village which has great dining and shopping options.

Breathtaking from check-in to check-out. Staff was very friendly and responsive to our needs. There were a couple of very minor hiccups, but we were promptly given some credit into our account to use in the restaurants and bars. The room was perfect, always clean and had no issues whatsoever with service.

The property itself is amazing with great pools, bars, restaurants, and an even better beach. Great view of the sunset and not too crowded. Walkability is amazing along the boardwalk, you can easily get to other fantastic restaurants, shopping, and other hotels if you have friends/families staying elsewhere.

On a final note, we had our wedding at the Hyatt Regency, and it was absolutely perfect. Kiana was the most amazing hostess and really worked with us for all our needs. She exceeded our expectations over and over again. Would highly recommend this property for your stay and wedding venue.
