Overall would stay at the Max again. Small rooms but not uncomfortable at all. Location is amazing if you are in Seattle to sightsee and shop. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee and beer. Friendly service but our room was not completely cleaned when service came through.

Very tiny rooms, but a great location! If you are looking for a niche hotel to rock the night away, so here. If you are looking to take a shower where you can wash your hair without doing yoga, go somewhere else.

Great staff and perfect location is you're looking to walk Seattle. Pikes Market is just a few blocks away and the needle is about a 30 minute walk if your moving leisurely. Decor in the hotel is interesting as well.

We had drinks at Miller's Guild the hotel restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and this is a cozy interior steak House. I ordered a signature spicy cocktail that paired nicely with our battered maitaki mushrooms. Delicious.

Really comfortable room, every staff member was more than helpful, and the general vibe was rad. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't need too much room, and enjoys being in walking distance of pretty much everything.

The window ac/heating units are pretty loud. The first room we had had a broken unit and a tub that wouldn't drain. They were very nice and moved us to a second room right away when we described the situation but it did take away from our overall enjoyment of the weekend.
Also parking your car costs about half as much per day and the entire room. We basically paid for a 3 day stay rather than 2 when you add in the parking.

Great botique hotel, with excellent customer service. Location is close to everything downtown...no trouble getting anywhere, I've walked to most things.

Only negative I give are the rooms are on the small side particularly the bathroom. Great place while I was at a conference.

This hotel was super lovely! I had a bad experience on hotels tonight where I booked a room at another hotel that did not actually have a room. I contacted hotel max before booking a room. Charlotte answered and was super responsive. I called back after booking to be sure the room was ours. Charlotte greeted us and was extremely accommodating! We were given complimentary beer and a prosecco because the beer wasn t cold! They do a complimentary beer hour from 5pm to 6pm but we checked in close to 10. She comped our parking for the night and our car was able to stay 24 hours at the hotel even though our check out was the next morning! Would highly recommmend! I can t splurge on a hotel any time soon but would not hesitate to book with hotel max again! The room was a nice size the restaurant downstairs looked fantastic! Everything was clean, neat and orderly!

Great hotel with awesome staff. Super nice people work here. I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is perfectly located near everything you want to do in Seattle. They have free happy hour beer in lobby. And free delicious coffee in the mornings.

We've stayed here a couple of times. It's a cute, boutique style hotel that is in a super convenient location. Staff is excellent. Rooms are very small, but kitted out well. Beds/pillows are comfy. My only issue has been with the incredibly thin walls. They seem to try to space people out as much as possible, but if you do have a noisy neighbor, it can be a challenge with little ones. It is rather expensive, but so is everything in downtown Seattle!

This hotel is nicely and smartly designed. It's not very big and spacious, but the space is filled with sharp colors, eye catching art pieces/furniture, and modern touches like black and white photography and messages on the wall (in the tiny elevators). The service is friendly and they provide original perks like free craft beer in the lobby in the evening (for an hour). The rooms are, again, not the most spacious, but big enough for 2 people to be comfortable. And everything was clean, which shouldn't have to be said... but with hotels, sometimes, it does.

What a pathetic joke. Not only is the rooms the size of an airplane bathroom, but when I asked for a directive on a place to have breakfast they wouldn't even mention a little cafe right across the street from them; greed and manipulation to try to keep me in the hotel for their over priced food. Never again! You've been warned!

Interesting place. Good downtown location. There was a group of us, and we all thought the place was fine, except for one problem. Literally none of us had any soap! We all had a weird bottle of moisturizer in the bathroom, and shampoo in the shower... But no soap!

Some of the group inquired at the front, and were told that was how they stocked the rooms. So I guess Seattle doesn't believe in hygiene or something? One of our group found a corner market, and bought all the soap they had, and brought it back for all of us to use. So aside from not having soap, it was fine.

Good place to travel solo. Hotel was cozy and nice but didn't like the expensive restaurant connected. The people there were very stuck up and rude. There's plenty to eat nearby and shopping and such. Found it easy to walk and explore from this location. Also cant beat free happy hour

The vibe of the place was interesting. The hallways and elevators smelled a little off, almost like people had been smoking there. Everything about the place was small.. The rooms, the bathrooms and the elevators. It was way too expensive for what we got.
The elevators were terrible... We waited so long for the elevator to go down to the lobby, but it was full every time it came, because it could fit a max of 5 people. We ended up having to take the stairs down. Some of their staff were friendly, but others.. Not so much.
I wasn't told about the refundable deposit during check-in, so I called after I had checked-out to ask what the fee was for. The guy on the phone said "We tell everyone at check-in about the deposit, you probably just didn't hear". You should never speak to a customer that way. I am 100% sure I was not told about it, and he was just rude for no reason. Some of their staff need to learn how to speak to customers properly.
I am certain that I will never be coming back here. I can spend less to get a much nicer room elsewhere.

i stayed one night here and it was great. very conveniently located, great staff, and i thought the room was really nice. the pillows were super comfortable. yes, the elevator was tiny, but that's not something i really care about so it didn't bother me. i would definitely stay here again.

I got a room on the 5th floor with a view to the backyard. The exhaust air of a ventilation duct opens approximately at the same height. The fan causes a hell of a noise. Falling asleep is impossible. I complained to the front desk and was met completely uncomprehending.
These rooms are probably turned on foreign guests at the same price, which is expected to return anyway. Whoever experiences the same, can hereby prove that there were former fellow sufferers.
Good night!

Pros: good location, friendly staff, cool theme and decor. Free internet has decent speed (11Mb/s down), though it frequently has "hiccups".
Cons: Smallest shower I've ever seen in a hotel (2.5' x 2.5'... really!). In-window air conditioner is loud, like a jet engine in the room (the hotel provides ear plugs, though...). Small rooms.

Hotel Max was a great for our staycation during a company event. It was a quiet nights rest. Convenient services and well worth the price for a night. Will do it again and recommend highly.

We found the staff at Hotel Max to be knowledgeable, and friendly. The room is on the small side, but clean. Unfortunately, parking is not free. Fortunately, Hotel Max is in a perfect location, within walking distance of Seattle's many tourist spots and wonderful restaurants. Trams, busses and monorail are right around the corner, and there are 2 Starbucks on each corner, literally.

Cozy rooms, with a lot of character. Very artsy, moda-grunge decor all throughout the hotel. They gave us each a beenie, and a craft beer made with honey harvested on the roof! Really cool place, at a great location. The bathroom was small in our room, and no complimentary breakfast, but they offer coffee in the A.M. and craft beer during certain hours of the day. They are pretty affordable for being smack dab in the middle of the city, so I guess you have some tradeoffs. Parking lots all over, but not included.

Extra star for the excellent service I got - it was booked all over Seattle, and I still was able to book a room without being gouged!

It's got a cool vibe, but its a boutique hotel really. Smaller....everything - from the "social" elevator (singular) :) to your room and bath. Great location - "everything" is a short walk away (Lola is a block or 2 away!).

Basic amenities. No parking, which can be a challenge if you're traveling/road trip. You'll have to think about where to park overnight, and then the rest of the day (expensive!).

The best staff ever. They were very friendly, welcoming and opened to answer questions and solve problems. I had my flight cancelled and was not going to use the first night, so I contacted the hotel and they ask me to have Expedia (I bought through Expedia) call them. I call Expedia and they said it was impossible to cancel just the first night and suggested I cancelled the full stay and go to another hotel. So I said to Expedia that I will keep my reservation and showed up at the hotel the second day. They accepted to not charge me for the first night.

Nice location in downtown Seattle we stayed one night, were able to enjoy a pint of beer in the lobby and coffee in the morning. Staff where friendly, room was quiet, bed comfy, the shower and toilet were in two different rooms, kind of different but fine. Good location if you are seeing a show at a nearby theatre. Would try it out again if the price is right.

Great location, clean hotel, staff was extremely helpful and I was greeted with a cold FREE glass of beer when I was checking in cause they were sampling different beers. Doesn't get much better than that!

Small room, heating by air conditioner only thus very noisy in night. Very poor wifi in the room and in general not very well maintained (for example the hairdryer was broken). Not satisfied for the cost. The best thing is the bar with good beer.

So I actually visited and stayed at the hotel, the hotel has a very rock and roll glam style with a lobby that has board games and water and a gum machine.

Everything seems clean, however I didn't know I wouldn't have any sort of glasses or cups within my room, I literally had to ask the front desk to provide a few for me.

The room is tiny and while I'm not there most of the day it's not the most comfortable with the table and chair provided for two people can only seat one and while looking nice but being quite uncomfortable. The bathroom is tiny with no counter space and your knees almost hitting the wall when you sit on the toilet.

There is snacks and drinks available in the room for a super expensive price, so if you don't care you can have water, beer or wine.
The walls are very thin so you definitely need to use the provided ear plugs to sleep in quiet.
You can order room service as well.

Great central downtown location which is a big positive.

I'd say this is a little more about style than substance overall as a hotel.

***EDIT previous

I made a review a few days ago and I just wanted to update this and make a few key points of difference.
I'll start off by saying the front office manager (Phillip Johnson) is definitely deserving his credit and a big thumbs up with dealing with this and helping. I definitely appreciate his work and efforts.

this review change isn't about the staff of the hotel or the rooms but rather dealing with the reservations side, I can honestly say it's a horrible experience and I would not recommend it to anyone, the fact that I made a simple reservation and I didn't receive a confirmation that was professional or contain the information needed is astonishing to me, during the course of the last few days I've dealt with several people most of whom have passed me back and forth amongst each other, every person taking my information and promising to send me the confirmation email and didn't.

This is a reservation for next year, I know it's early but as with any purchase you definitely want to have proof, all in all once I'm actually at the hotel I'll be sure to update and leave a complete review including staff, room and more.

I booked a trip for March 2018 and honestly dealing with the hotel has been a nightmare, all I want is a simple conformation paper that is properly done, my card has been charged but I have yet to receive anything.
At the time of this writing it's almost 36 hours and I've lost count of how many people I've spoken with but all of them are quick to pass me on to the next person and I've had someone hang up on me during a call.
I can't speak to the quality of the rooms but based on the interaction with hotel management I'm extremely reluctant to suggest this to people, I've honestly never dealt with such an unprofessional group of people and especially given this hotels high quality status.

Great location for walking, a few blocks from most things you would want to see in the city. Clean and the staff are friendly. Overall not bad for the heart of downtown. But one the downside... the rooms are really, really small.

The hotel has a great vibe. Rooms are not anything fancy and the bathrooms are small, but that's reflected in the price. The beds are comfortable and stacked with a ton of pillows. The restaurant looks fantastic! I'm hoping to get a chance to eat there before we leave. I'd definitely come back.

A trendy place to be in the heart of downtown Seattle; perfect for a business trip or being near the essential hotspots. Morning coffee in the lobby, a mini bar in the room and valet parking (only valet though).

Don't expect the rooms to be big or luxurious but that's not a knock on Hotel Max if you know what you're in for and are looking for the city experience.

On day 5 of 7. Staff have been mostly super nice but my room didnt get serviced for the first two days and the mini bar hasnt been properly restocked at all. The power outlet in the bathroom doesnt work with either my own or the provided hair dryer which makes things tricky in the morning and I've had no feedback about that since i reported it two days ago. I only found out tonight that room service existed from the restaurant next door which would have been helpful information from the beginning but there was no information provided until i heard someone else mention it at reception. All that said i dont find the room as small as what others have mentioned, the bed is super comfy, the noise not noteworthy and the whole vibe very pleasant. The room was spotlessly clean, the location was spectacularly central and the afternoon happy hour is a nice touch. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been great. I'd stay again and would recommend it.

They steal personal items. After calling for 3 days straight for lost and found / front desk because lost and found is just an answering machine... they finally told me to F* off. So if your planning a stay please lock up all your valuables... and I guess in addition standard relation cloths. It's all up for grabs, so watch your stuff

It was my first time staying at the Max. Great location, super friendly/helpful staff and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be staying here again, next time we are in town!

Great staff. Comfortable bed. Stayed in a "mini" which meant a tv, desk, and bed with minimal walking area between the bed and desk. The bathroom had a separate sink and shower "rooms" that reminded me more of closets. They were a bit small in my opinion and also a bit outdated/could use some remodeling. Location puts you minutes in walking distance from Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market.

Worst hotel I've ever been to. Small dirty rooms. Our hotel window wouldn't close we froze all night long. "Free parking" they claim then try and charge us $55 for a day. The restaurant next door was $50 for 2 drinks horrible experience

I'm staying at Hotel Max for a business trip and I found the staff to be incredibly pleasant and helpful! As is my first time in Seattle the desk attendant got out a mass and gave me a full tour of great areas in the city to see, hangout and eat. So far the coffee is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is super relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seattle. Is in a wonderful location.

Stayed one night in a double room. The hotel is am old building that has been refurbished so it has some quirky charm. Bathroom was tiny in a room on the small side. However the bed was very very comfortable which made up for it. Great central location close to Pike Place market etc.
