Rooms where standard, bathrooms were really small. In a way obligated to do the valet overnight for $40 a day. Expensive for what you get. We were never prompted for the AAA card that would have given us the discount we applied for. So ended up paying more than I would've wanted, for okay service and experience.

Love this place. We stay here often and really enjoy it! The only thing that bothered me this trip...Was we wanted a late check out and they could only give us a half an hr late checkout.
Locing is convenient, but the room can be seen from the next building, and even in the middle of the night the noise in and out of the lower parking lot and the dust collection is too loud to sleep without earplugs. The room is small, and the beds are double and spacious, but on the other hand, the floor space is small, so it is difficult to open the suitcase. It is good because the shower has momentum. I think that it is convenient for those who can use it separately.
Terrific location everything about this place is exactly what one wants a hotel to be. Solid room amenities great staff and a price that let's you enjoy more of Seattle.
We've stayed at this hotel during SakuraCon for three years in a row. We love the service, and the decor. The rooms are a little cramped and so is the elevator, but the morning g coffee and afternoon beer make up for it. The attached restruant is expensive, but good and it makes the whole lobby smell like delicious wood smoke.
Friendly and helpful people. Good location. Wi-Fi is problematic and not user friendly. There was construction going on and there was sleep disruption due to drilling and pounding, hence the three stars.
Rooms on the smaller side but the free craft beer in the evening and coffee in the morning is nice. Very clean rooms and friendly staff make me want to come again.
Pretty decent. Small rooms but quaint. Excellent location. Free beer all you can drink between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. One type of local craft beer. The pours are pints and they flow freely for one hour. I had 4 pints. How many can you have...yum!
Great hotel, its fun and clean. Free beer hour in the lobby at 5:30pm is really cool. The hotel is centrally located to everything. Its walking distance to pike market and the space needle.
Location is convenient, decor is trendy, and it's clean. Rooms are small but functional for sleeping/showering accommodations. Elevators are comically tiny. Be aware that there aren't any on site vending machines or a small convenience shop like most other hotels, this led to me paying $5 for a can of soda one thirsty night.
Location was great and easy to access. Valet parking makes cars a breeze. I missed beer happy hour so they gave me one to take up to the room! Service has been great. Very pet friendly and extremely responsive to everything I've asked for.
A very small room but clean and neat. I don't like the divided bathroom. There is also no coffee maker or at least water heater/boiler although there is free coffee downstairs but not everyone drinks coffee but tea instead.
Loved this hotel. The decor was very cool with a nod to the sub pop culture. The room was well appointed and the location is great. We walked to everything. The free social hour each night was a great surprise. They highlight a local craft beer each evening. Very tasty beer. We will definitely be back.
Amazing atmosphere! The rooms are small and cosy, but super comfortable. The staff were great and there was free beer in the evenings and nobody can argue with free beer <3
Great service and easy booking on short notice. The price was great, especially for the location and, again, the short notice. The room was well put together with a decent view of some buildings downtown. In room purchases were marked up to ridiculous levels, but that's normal and it was a short walk to find anything I would have wanted anyhow. The decor was awesome. The shower was a little small, but everything was clean and comfortable.
Great location, within walking distance of downtown attractions and light rail station for other destinations. Parked at airport and took $3 light rail to save on expensive downtown parking. Whole Foods a few blocks away. Rooms are a bit tight, but completely doable, comfy, modern. Didn't hear neighbors, noise, or other disturbances. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Very convenient location in the middle of downtown. Guests can easily walk to most Seattle attractions. The rooms are small, and the elevators even smaller, but they were clean and comfortable. Would happily stay again.
I was in town for a conference downtown, so the hotel was close enough to the venue and was less expensive then most of the other places downtown. The hotel looks very nice, has a style of its own, and the rooms are of an adequate size. However, I am a tall person (6'4"), and the bathrooms were minuscule. There was essentially no counter top space, and the sink is practically hovering over the toilet. Showers just as small. Very odd layout.
My parents stayed at Hotel Max while visiting Seattle. The room was too small; the bed took up most of the space and the bathroom had a small sink with no counter space. However, there were some nice perks like free valet parking and a craft beer hour.
I am still in this place (sadly) and I'd like to share why people should avoid it. It has very small rooms, but that's OK - after all it's in down-town and affordable. Right next to my bed (because the room is small) is a giant integrated AC/heater built right into the window. That is also common. But what is not common is that the AC/heater is either completely on or off. You cannot set it to shut off at a certain temperature or time. It's 45 degrees outside, the windows are paper-thin and I have the choice between sleeping with a giant loud machine blowing real hot air right onto me or sleeping in 45 degrees cold. When I complained to the reception, they were nice and all, but all they could do is give me blankets - according to them all the rooms are like that. They mumbled something about old building, but this is rubbish - AC/heaters with a thermostat are not exactly a novelty. Oh btw, what they call "internet" won't even load the web search results. I have to tether my phone. Anyway, unless you feel you have no need for heating, don't stay here.
Had a great experience. Room very nice and cozy. Easy access to landmarks. Even though it s pricey, it was worth the price for the walking distance to everything. Great maintenance, if anything breaks, ask for Tim!
We had a great visit! The staff were friendly, and they not only let us check in early but also put us on the Sub Pop floor. This meant all the rooms had big pictures of Seattle musicians on the doors, and inside our room was a record player with Nirvana's Bleach and Soundgarden's first album on vinyl. The floor was very quiet and the others guests were respectful. I only gave 4 stars because the shower was very small.
Rooms were great, a little on the smaller side but more then comfortable. Staff was amazing, everyone that we dealt with was friendly and hospitable, accommodating with everything request we had. I wish we could have stayed in Seattle longer, would definitely stay here again.
For a short business trip, this place was awesome. The room was very small, but clean, quiet, and comfortable with an EXCELLENT location. The attached bar/restaurant is also great. All staff were wonderful. I'd definitely stay again! The only downside was the absurdly slow and small elevator... But that does not compel me to strike a star.
Cool hotel in a great area! The front desk folks are really nice and helpful. I really enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning and the beer happy hour in the evening. I thought my room was great. Not huge, but the size I would expect for a city hotel. Same goes for the bathroom, it was smaller than other hotels I'm used to but not a huge problem. I would recommend the Mod King or Max King if you want more room. Anything smaller would probably only be good for one person. Bed was comfortable, location was great for easily getting around the city, and all the cool decor was a nice touch! Overall, I'd stay there again.
Hotel Max is a cool boutique hotel in downtown Seattle. We were in town for a Seahawks game with our 4yo kid and had a fantastic stay. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable and the staff was friendly. The bathrooms are tiny, as other reviewers pointed out, but we didn't mind. The hotel does a beer hour in the lobby which was awesome. They were pouring a seasonal Elysian beer during our stay and there were classic board games available. Ended up playing Scrabble with another guest. There is valet parking, which we took advantage of, but there are self park lots within a couple blocks. The attached restaurant has great food (get the brussel sprouts!!) and packed up our meals to take up to our room.
Bottome line: We will be back. Loved everything about this place!
Bartender was very nice, chatty, and poured good drinks! Very accommodating to each person's taste preferences. Very friendly, chill vibe on a quiet night.
Great hotel! The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. They have an awesome happy hour at 5:30 pm each night where patrons of the hotel can mingle. I love their toiletries, as well. The lavender lime moisturizer is lovely. I will definitely stay here again.
Great location, friendly staffs. But the room is kind of small, and the window couldn t be fully opened, so you can imagine how fresh the air could be...
We booked this place because of the hype around it. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the free beer in afternoon a very nice idea. Just the quality of the rooms doesn t fit the price. Very small rooms and just a bit polished up with decorations, but not a proper renovation. I like the idea about the style, staff there is very friendly & helpful, just the price is too high for the rooms standard.
Overview: Cool hotel in a great location for a decent price. The hotel as a whole was nice, but the size of the room made staying there inconvenient.
Lobby/amenities: Nice contemporary atmosphere. Clearly targeting young professionals. The staff was great and the bar attached to it was always active. Great feel, and the elevator required a key to use so it helped the feeling of security.
Room: The room was outright small. The king bed was great to sleep in but took up so much of the room that walking around it was hard, as a single person. The worst part was the size of the bathroom. The toilet was small and hard to use. The tub was overly concave and hard to stand in for long periods of time. I pretty much slept, showered, and left because my only option was laying in bed.
Location: Right in the middle of downtown Seattle, this hotel made being on the go a breeze. It worked super well as a central hub to any activity. Surrounded by great food and transportation options, if you plan on being out, this hotel is a win.
Great place! The hotel gives you a city feel. I used it's fitness center during my stay and they have free weights! I also attended their free beer happy hour and got to meet some really nice people. I did hear someone next door a little at night but they provide free ear plugs next to your bed.
This place is full of kitsch and charm, from the black painted hallways to the art on the doors, and the retro up-cycled fixtures. You can even rent a turntable to play records on. If you're looking for unusual and unique, you've found it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
If spaciousness is a high priority for you, or complimentary breakfasts, you might want to look elsewhere. The room we stayed in and the attached bathroom were quite small, and there is no breakfast bar to speak of.
Great place as described by other travelers. I had a conference at the Hyatt Regency and picked Hotel Max because it is a 5 min walk to the Hyatt, cost less, and is cool looking. The location is within walking distance of everything in downtown Seattle. Front desk employee, Melissa and co-worker Linz were excellent. Both always said hi and made me feel welcome. Melissa took the time and have me a list of places to eat based on my preference. Give Hotel Max a try.
I bought tickets to the Foo Fighters on 9/1/18, and thought I booked the Westin for the night. However, I accidentally booked for the weekend of 9/8 and the Westin was completely full and could not accommodate us. We looked at Hotels Tonight and found that Hotel Max had a room and was a short walk from the Westin so I booked it. I m so happy everything worked out so we could experience Hotel Max- what an awesome place! The front desk is so friendly, they gave us a free upgrade for a standard King room. The hotel was built in the 1920s and remodeled in a cool, Seattle - artsy way. They give you free beer between 5:30 & 6pm and are right next door to an incredible steak house restaurant. We will be staying here again! Thank you for the hospitality, Hotel Max!
This is not a luxury hotel! The bed is hard as a rock. And there's no sound insulation so it feels like I'm outside. I have to use ear plugs which are uncomfortable. Basically I haven't really gotten any sleep the 3 nights I stayed here
Location was great, really close to the convention center and a Starbucks. Everyone working there was very friendly and accommodating. Has a much more relaxed atmosphere than your usual hotel. The elevators and hotel rooms were a little on the small side, but overall our stay was great!
Tiny bathroom (really!) and elevator. No free water or coffee machine or cup in room. Room service card was left filled from previous guest. Noisy street. Unlikely to come back.
Cute hotel . Very boutique hotel with free beer at 630. That is where the positive ends. Couldn't get hot water unless ran shower for over ten minutes . hotel just gave us $25/for our trouble. So cold showers and we will not be returning
The reception area is pretty nice and has a great restaurant. I was not impressed with the first room they gave me. There was an exhaust next to my window which was over the trash dumpsters. They know the rooms are noisy and they even provide earplugs. I couldn't get any sleep. They moved me to another room which was much nicer; still took a couple trips to get the fridge unlocked and a remote for the TV. After that, the bed was comfortable, nice sheets and small but functional shower.
