We had a wonderful time and loved our room. Being able to walk to Stephen's Avenue made it an incredible vacation. The desk staff and valet service were always one step ahead of us. Our room service breakfast was delicious. 100% returning the first chance we get.

I love staying here. The hotel is great the rooms are amazing and staff is friendly. However I have never had to pay to valet my vehicle before and this last stay I was charged and extra $45 to valet my car overnight.

One of the finest hotels I've ever stayed. The bed is absolutely fantastic. Climate controls are flawless and the room is almost astoshingly quiet. Very good complimentary breakfast. Location could not be better.

Nice, clean, big room. Employees were friendly and service was top-notch. Check in was really fast and easy. TV system was basic with no option to order movies. We asked for a microwave to reheat food, they did not have them available but bell staff was able to reheat food for us. However, we had to call down again when we wanted it reheated later. Otherwise, everything was superb!

The rooms are nice, staff are friendly, but I asked for flower petals to be put in the room when I arrived - which is a servie offered by the hotel for a price. There was no flower petals. It was supposed to be a surprise for my girlfriend.
I called front desk to ask why, but the man just said "flower petals are not there? Sorry" and he said he'll proceed to deduct flower petals off my bill. That was the end of conversation with no explanation as to why.

The other time I was in this hotel, they gave wrong keycards to wrong guests, so random couple walked in while we were about to shower. What nuisance to both us and them. The management handled well by offering us deduction on parking fees, a bottle of wine, and etc.

If it wasn't for Sujung, the lady at front desk who helped us in the morning, that gave us deductions on parking and mini bar items, and next free upgrade to better room, I would have never considered to return to this establishment.

All of the staff should be trained like her, especially the guy who was on the phone with me at night time.

From reservation staff all the way across the board, everyone was excellent. The room was exactly as I expected and room service was prompt. For a weekend in Calgary, it's worth the rate and I will stay there again... maybe visit the spa next time too.

The hotel is great. Rooms are large for a downtown location (in comparison to hotels in the U.S) and the customer service is commendable. The hotel is located in central downtown Calgary (oppsite the Calgary Tower) and is close to many restaurants and bars. Additionally, each room offers a Google Chromecast, which means you can stream whatever you desire and skip the ad filled cable channels (a small touch that I felt offers an additional later of customer service). As a first visit to Calgary, I am certain this is my hotel of choice for future visits.

This will likely be my go to hotel in Calgary from now on. Sleek and modern and comfortable. Insanely comfortable beds. Quiet HVAC and in room controls. Close to everything by foot. I hope to be back to Calgary again soon and when I am I will stay here

I absolutely loved my stay at this beautiful hotel, I stayed in the prestige king room which is modern and a massive room, absolutely beautiful and clean no detail was overlooked. I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant in the lobby (charcut) and would definitely return. I guess what stood out when I arrived is I was offered a complimentary room upgrade even tho I had booked through a third party agent. So when I recently called to book another night they happily matched the third party rate and actually beat it by 10%. It's little details like this that show you are welcome and valued as a guest.

Elegant and spacious, this hotel is situated in the heart of downtown Calgary. The basic room was extremely well designed and well appointed. The amenities were more than adequate and the layout of the room was unusual, unlike most cookie-cutter chain hotel rooms. It reminded me of the NH hotels or the Steigenburgers in Europe.

The gym was spacious and well equipped with cardio machines, but not too many strength training equipment. The breakfast was more than adequate though not spectacular. I will stay there again.

Took my wife to the spa at Le Germain and we left disappointed. The experience was the opposite of what we have come to expect for a spa in comparison to others like Stillwater and Riverside Spa.

Staff was walking back and forth through the lounge area with supplies (this was at noon - why wasn't it done before opening hours). There were two corporate meetings going on at the same time that we could hear during our massage.

Showers were dirty with visible build up along the corners and edges. Towels provided were too small to wrap around (I'm 5'10", 175lbs with a 32" waist).

During the massage my wife said that her massage therapist (RMT) had gloves on. This is a first for us. Who uses gloves? And why was she not informed before the massage started?

During her massage, she also noted that her RMT appeared to have dozed off a couple times. She said the RMT stopped massaging (but still had both hands on her) for periods of time. Another first for us with this behaviour.

Shower after the massage was the same. However there are no amenties provided. No q-tips, hair products, face/body lotion, disposable razor and other shaving products. For me in the men's bathroom there was only a jar of cotton balls and a blow dryer.

Stillwater, Riverside and Banff Springs provides all of this and more. You leave the spa ready to continue your day. Rather than rushing home to moisturize your dry skin.

I'm hoping it was an off day for the spa at Le Germain, but I have reached out to the spa with my comments above but have not heard from them in almost a week. If they can't be bothered to reply, then I hope this Google review will provide others with info that they can use to make a better, more informed decision before coming here for treatment.

Stunning!!! This building, the area it s in, and the decor in the rooms are all architecturally breathtaking.

The team at the Le Germain will go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. We cannot wait to return.

The only reason this is not a five star is due to the lack of lighting in the rooms. This is likely for ambience but I found it difficult in the evening as it always felt like 2 am once the sun went down. Secondly, on both visits, the electrical panels in our rooms were not working. A small thing, but an inconvenience when we wanted to hook up our HDMI or charge near the desks.

On one of our stays, I woke up in the middle of the night and went downstairs to see if a firmer pillow was available. Not only did the person who was working provide me with a detailed pillow menu, they also produced my desired pillow on the spot, and gave me a glowing rundown of how the bathtub in our room actually fills from the ceiling!!

I had no idea, and this was a very impressive feature. 10/10 would recommend you get the bathtub room. It felt like a truly unique experience and the corner view of Stephen Ave was fantastic.

The restaurant here, charcut, is also a delight. We dined here once before the lockdowns and I wanted to be best friends with the server, and on our second stay, we ordered to our room. Even though we ordered right before close, the quality was superb and the staff that delivered it upstairs were so kind!

We also loved how they still provided continental breakfast to our room during covid 19. Wow! I attached a picture because words can t possibly do it justice. This is the only hotel we have seen do this during the pandemic, and it really raised the bar.

We can t wait to come back!!

Spacious room, good shower. The lighting system was a little confusing but I eventually got the hang of it. Doesn't hurt that Charcut is basically in the hotel. A good place to get away from normal life for a few days.

Personal I don't think this hotel is worth the price. The breakfast they offer has very little options. When we checked in we were given a key to our room, we went upstairs to unlocked the door and walked in on a couple in their bed.... They gave us a key to a room already taken. We went back down stairs will all our bags, told them what happened they said sorry about that and gave us a new room and key... All in all not a good experience. If you're charging 400 a night your staff should be trained properly. Won't be back.

Quiet hotel, facilities are clean and high class. Definately eat at the resteraunt, Poutine is overrated in general, eat anything else on the menu and you're unlikely to be disappointed, food coma likely!

Stay here if you want to be pampered with modern rooms and amazing service. My partner and I always talk about wanting to visit Calgary again just to stay at this hotel. Keep up the amazing work!

I was disappointed that they booked me for a spa appt on the wrong date and time...also that the valet took over 10 minutes before they even acknowledged me to drop off my car...not a good first impression.

I got the king suite for the night, very beautiful. We enjoyed it. Also got breakfast sent up to our room and payed 80$ for something that should have been worth 30$ at the most, it was really disappointing..

Booked a Prestige suite for my brother-in-law and his fiancee/wife for their wedding night. Due to the pandemic many hotels in Calgary were temporarily closed but Le Germain was open, conveniently located downtown, and happy to reserve a room for me as a gift. The hotel staff were excellent to work with, they were happy to place flowers and cards in the room prior to the bride and groom checking in and then placed additional items (champagne, gift baskets) in the room as surprises for when they returned after the wedding ceremony. The staff made sure that their special day was celebrated. Wonderful!
