Mixed review. Gym is suberb. Staff are very hard-working. Room is fancy. It's quiet. Good power outlet situation. Stocked fridge. I like the robes. Continental breakfast had good options. Cleaning staff very fast. Stuff I didn't like - hard to get the room dark at night. Blinds not great and lots of electronic lights from panels and coffee maker etc. They charged me $14.50 for some egg whites that I ordered. I think the eggs they serve are from powder. All the breakfast staff seemed extremely nervous - both days. They had a sign advertising gluten free products - upon request they actually didn't have any!

My wife and I hosted our wedding reception at Le Germain and spent the night in one of their fantastic rooms. The drinks during the reception were quite pricey but the finger food was quite good. Overall a pretty good experience based on the service and quality of hotel.

Best hotel I ve ever stayed in! Fabulously friendly staff, filtered water stations, champagne in room, located right off of Stephen Avenue. Spotless room. Massive shower head. The list goes on and on! My only regret is that there is no pool. The breakfast in the morning was amazing with loads of hot options, pastries, fruit, etc.
Highly recommend staying here and booking a spa package as well. Great facility and value when booked together (very pricy when booked separately).

The stay at the hotel was very good, the clean service on high level, the SPA is our favorite. However, the experience of restaurant in downstairs gave bad experience( food poisoning ) and I was happy to leave this hotel as soon as possible.

Only stayed for one night. Staff very helpful and polite.

The location was great, and the interior was very luxurious, I very much enjoyed that Le Germain was very classy. Not to mention the staff was brilliant and kind.

Place is very modern and clean. The bathroom is huge and makes it's easy to get ready without being in someone else's way. Overall this hotel is worth the money. Staff were very accommodating and food was amazing. Continental breakfast was very plain however it's on par for what is expected from that.

LOVED this spa experience. From the staff to the amenities, it was a 5 star experience, hard to find elsewhere. Prices right, as well.

I am not an incredibly picky traveler but I like to stay in nice places and have a good time when I can - the Germain is a great place to just... be, but the staff are what made a decent weekend into a fantastic weekend! Not only is everyone is crisply professional they are very pleasant to interact with - they accommodated an early check-in without a hint if trouble, I know that this is not something that can be counted on but the fact they could make it work for me, really helped me out, ditto hanging onto the room for a couple extra hours before my flight out.
I really can't believe they include such a great breakfast, I would usually skip the hotel breakfast and go somewhere more interesting but this one is pretty darn good, beautiful room, pretty good food, OK coffee - but fantastic service; you are getting the breakfast for free, TIP YOUR SERVER!
It used to be that if all the hotel in DT YYC were priced the same I would chose the Palliser, this weekend has changed that - Germain is now my default choice.

The hotel was in a convenient area of downtown with two doors facing an avenue and a street for easy pick-up. The staff were very professional and answered our questions quickly and politely. The rooms were very clean and modern. Sliding hanging doors for the bathroom and modern furnishings added to the feel of the room. The only issue I had was with the lights. They were a little dim for spotting wrinkles on my clothing while I was trying toiron my suit. Otherwise, a fantastic hotel with valet parking. I would definitely visit again!

The aesthetic of the hotel was lovely and I found the staff to be nice and professional.

A surprisingly disappointing hotel. Stayed at the Westin previously on the same trip and was expecting a more upscale and refined experience but received just the opposite. The suites are nice, but cleaning service is spotty and doesn't come every day. When they did clean the rooms they use a distinctively vile cleaning substance on the floors which leaves a musty aroma throughout the room. The gym and spa center is lackluster and small compared to the Westin's rooftop pool complex. Barely any equipment and not enough room for more than 4 people at a time. The complimentary breakfast on the second floor was inedible. I have eaten better breakfasts at a Motel6 in the states. The eggs were nearly plastic and the sausages had a peculiar rubber texture. Overall a very disappointing experience. Would certainly not stay here again.

Great hotel located in downtown Calgary directly opposite Calgary Tower. Awesome rooms, very clean and friendly staff.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Check in was a breeze. The front desk staff were kind and knowledgeable. The bar associate made our experience unforgettable. He welcomed us with such enthusiasm and made sure we were well taken care of. The room was great! Clean, modern, well maintained, and took the time to make our mini honeymoon special! Thank you!

Excellent service, great room, and wonderful location. There was a issue with billing on my credit card that was promptly taken care of, Even on a Sunday morning. Can t say enough positive things about the management.

Very nice hotel that is centrally located in Calgary and is only 15 minutes from the airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and roomy. Deluxe Continental breakfast was included in our stay and was delicious!

The hotel was beautiful and very spacious. The staff was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond for us. The valet parking service was a breeze too! The location, right downtown, made it easy to find good restaurants and to see the things we wanted to see. I would definitely stay here again!

All the staff is very nice and always seems happy. Even if they are faking it, I can't tell. I've been to a few nice hotels where people don't even pretend to be happy. The room is amazing. The only downside was that the fridge was loaded with mini bar items that I didn't have any plans of using, unfortunately this keeps me from putting the items we bought in to it. We are looking forward to a return visit next time we are in Calgary!

Really great hotel to stay at in Calgary, the rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. Book directly through the hotel to get the best benefits such as late check out.

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding. Everything was perfect. They were even so kind as to write us a personalized note and provided us with a complimentary bottle of champagne. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a premier hotel.

Great hotel in a great location. However, I downgraded one star because the bathroom sink does not have a stopper and you can't fill it. Not good for shaving as you continually have to run the water. This is not very eco friendly. I also find the rooms a little dark. They do provide a good complimentary breakfast though.

They seemed really disorganized - a reservation had been made weeks ago and a large deposit paid, but on the day of they had no record of the reservation. Fortunately they had an equivalent room available to what was originally booked. Also the movie rentals are ridiculously expensive - $25?? Buying the movie would be less. The complimentary breakfast was good

Excellent place to stay in downtown Calgary. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. Service was excellent. Decent continental breakfast.

Overall the best hotel chain in the affordable category. Visited both the Montreal and the Calgary one and both are truly 5 stars.

The hotel staff were not friendly and the room was incredibly rundown. We have stayed at Le Germain in Toronto and had quite high expectations that the experience would be similar but it was anything but not. Not to mention that the Parking lot is before the hotel on a one way, we were forced to go through an alley where there were a bunch of junkies. I guess that's normal for DT. The hotel is fair but our expectations were not met and that's the reason for the 2/5 stars.

Clean, spacious hotel. We enjoyed the car service offered by the hotel as well as the continental breakfast. The conceirge was very knowledgeable in giving us recommendations.

We stayed here for a special occasion and we received exceptional customer service. We felt very special even though we stayed one night. The man at the front desk was very friendly. We were offered valet services for I believe $20. Before we got to our room, there was a champagne bottle, rose petals sprinkled throughout the room, doves made out of towels, and a welcome note left specifically for us. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. We had breakfast in bed and the food was average. We will definitely be staying here again and I 100% recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in Calgary for any special occasions.

Friendly & helpful staff, spacious room with huge bathroom

I let my girlfriend plan out the weekend and found this gem. I'm deeply amazed how they went beyond. Everybody is so friendly. The special king suite was phenomenal. She took the romantic package and there are petals everywhere, prime chocolates and champagne.

My girlfriend and I stayed one night at this hotel and we were amazed by how this hotel was so perfect.

From the Valet to the front counter employee to the breakfast waitress, everybody were so professional, friendly and helpful.

The room was the best we ever had !

Loved my stay here! It was incredible! Front seat staff was pleasant and accommodating. I had a beautiful room, well stocked and so clean. I am grateful for the steps made by LaGermain to be more green, but my experience did not suffer in quality because of it. I will for sure be back!

Check in was quick and the rooms are spacious, well laid out and clean. Love the beds and pillows; and you can purchase the same through the website.... Sooooo comfy. Breakfast is good; location is great!

This was the first time upon making a reservation at a hotel that I have encountered absolutely no problems, no unforeseen circumstances and no stress at all. The front desk kindly answered all my questions before my check-in regarding price, accommodations and scheduled time to check-in and out. Jazz (the front desk receptionist) was particularly helpful in easing the usual angst I have in making hotel reservations. She walked me through the expected price points, and I could check-in with ease and no last minute complications. When I drove up, I was concerned about parking but the valet service took wonderful care of me, they were incredibly helpful, informative, and accommodating. The front desk receptionist upon my check-in (sadly I can t remember her name) was equally as kind and informative. The concierge service was the best I ve ever experienced, he took all my bags from my vehicle for me and showed me to my room. He took the time to walk me through the various luxurious features of my hotel room, leaving me feeling right at home in my hotel suite (for the first time I ve ever experienced). The room, shampoo, lotions, towels, robes, television, bed, etc were the most comfortable I ve ever had at any hotel. The room and all products therein were meticulously cleaned to perfection. I would and will absolutely strongly recommend all my friends, family and colleagues to stay at this hotel. I was in the lap of luxury here, a beautiful hotel and wonderfully attentive staff, and for a very rare time in my life I could truly relax and enjoy my vacation. This hotel is worth every cent I spent, and I will be coming back here every time I am in Calgary. I will never stay at another hotel in Calgary again, my expectations have been far exceeded. Thank you again for the lovely stay.

Very classy place. Valet, concierge etc. All efforts were made to make our stay perfect. Only criticism is the room service is only from 5pm to 10:30pm and there are no vending machines in the building.

I'm from Calgary, but moved away a few years ago. I recently stayed here for about a week and a half on business. I was in a Signature King room. The property is beautiful. Nice and modern, very clean, and the staff are incredibly helpful as soon as you walk in. They've got a nice bar in the lobby, though I didn't get a chance to take advantage of it. They also have an amazing restaurant, Charcut, attached to the hotel; you won't be disappointed. Their breakfast was great (prepared by Charcut). Good selection of foods, and they'll provide a box if you need to just take some food to go.
TIP: If you're taking off before 6:30am (when breakfast starts), call them the night before and ask if you could have a breakfast box prepared to grab on your way out.
As for the rooms, they are clean, comfortable, look great, and have the amenities you need. The desk has plenty of room for you to get your work done, even if you have a bunch of documents/books you need to spread out around you.
Finally, the location is excellent. You're just on the south part of downtown, across from the Calgary Tower. You're a block off of Stephen Ave (8th Ave) where there are a bunch of bars and restaurants. You can hop on the C-Train down on 7th Ave and be in Kensington within 10 minutes, or go the other way to the Stampede Ground or Casino. Or if you want to go for a nice walk, head north to Prince's Island Park. Heading south, you go under the train tracks and will find more bars and restaurants. Overall, you won't be bored, and you don't have to go far for variety if you don't want.
I will definitely be coming back to the Le Germain.

This place is amazing and everything the pictures make it out to be. Staff was friendly and helpful and my wife and I really enjoyed our stay.

Was only there for a luncheon but the food was incredible. It's in a very nice spot of downtown Calgary.

Nice rooms cozy central close to everything. Felt like the front desk didn t explain anything to us service very slack. Usually stay at the fairmont in Calgary tried this hotel but would pick fairmont over any hotel in Calgary way better service definitely worth it. You would think staying at a high end hotel they would definitely be nicer and more proper.

I was at Le Germain to meet people for work. Even though I, personally, wasn't staying there, the level of service and attention I received was amazing

Our room was not very impressive at all for what we paid. Pubic hairs on the bathroom floor, dirty toilet, poor lighting and very over priced breakfast... $82 for two orders of bacon, sausage, eggs, no toast and two small glasses of orange juice...The staff were excellent though, very kind and accommodating.

Good hotel, great location, in front of the highest tower in the city. Calgary, one of the cleanest, most beautiful and beautiful cities I've ever seen.

High class hotel for a relatively low price. You have to valet your car but it's not a big deal.

Establishment of the most comfortable! Very clean and very well maintained. I stayed there for a week and I could have stayed for a month!

From the minute you walk in the door the staff is absolutely of the highest quality. The accommodations are trendy well put together, everything you would expect from a top end establishment.

If your goal is quality and top-shelf service. Le Germain is the place for you. They took care of everything for us right from transportation to dinner reservations. Room service for breakfast in the morning was impeccable. The location is perfect. I honestly can't list one downfall. This is our new go to spot hands down.

Absolutely recommended LeGermain for your next trip to YYC, or such as in our case a date night.

Stayed here for one night only but all I can say is WOW! We had a seamless check-in with about 3 staff helping us unload our luggage. I have to make a special mention of Kat with reservations! During our phone conversation I suggested to her that me and my husband were to celebrate our 60 day wedding anniversary during this trip! She had a personalized welcome note congratulating us for the same. She also assisted me last minute in getting a few pictures of us printed and displayed in the room! Perfect is the only word i can think of when I recollect our mini getaway! Breakfast was fresh and served with great attention!
P.S If this review gets to Kat's manager, she deserves a raise/ promotion for going above and beyond with her personal touch!

This hotel is my favourite in Calgary. Weekend tip: valet parking is cheaper than self-parking!

Had a lovely stay here for a weekend staycation. The room was very nice, staff were excellent, but the Continental breakfast was underwhelming at best.

Absolutely amazing location right at the foot of the Calgary tower with an award winning restaurant in the lobby. Simply stunning interior and incredibly helpful staff made our stay simply remarkable. Can only recommend this hotel over and over.

Le Germain is my go to hotel in Calgary. Great location downtown as great restaurants and attractions are all in walking distance. The staff is phenomenal.

Beautiful high end hotel in the heart of Calgary, lots of extras can be added to the room to make things more romantic, but on it's own a very high end and modern hotel, every step of the way you are taken care of! Highly recommend!
