Ussualy don't write reviews but was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. Overall the staff has been great the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was great. Only problem was the room. When we arrived one of the bedsheets had a stain that looked like a face of makeup, which they promptly replaced. Later I noticed that the carpet has white stains and there is what looks like urine on the walls around the toilet. And lastly our door was left unlocked when the maids cleaned the rooms.

I'm hoping this is a one off and not a reflection of the hotel. Overall, I'm disappointed with the stay as my expectations were quite high considering the quality of the reputation.

Located in the heart of downtown, Le Germain is a beautiful upscale hotel.
Rooms are spacious and luxurious. Staff service is five star. Included breakfast is fairly basic with choices of various cheeses, breads, cold cereal, eggs and sausage.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location downtown, very clean hotel with modern decor. Rooms are good size and well equipped. Ours had large windows with good views of downtown. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. We booked through visa infinite luxury hotels so we got some additional perks such as a automatic room upgrade, breakfast and additional $30 hotel food/beverage credit. Staff were very accommodating. Thanks for the great stay for Valentine's weekend. I would recommend this hotel and will be staying again.

Loved our stay here; what a beautiful, clean, and modern hotel. Their valet in particular and other staff were very friendly and accommodating! Great guest experience at this hotel. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Parking is an issue, but Le Germain isn t constructed like the neighboring Fairmont or Marriot where there is convenient parking or an area to drop your vehicle and check in. We were advised to use the valet service (about $45 per night), but since my husband were in and out quite a bit during our stay, we opted for the self parking in their parkade. After 6pm it s a flat reasonable rate ($16) but from 5am until 10am we were charged $62! The hotel room rates are very modest in comparison to their neighboring competitors - we figure it s because the parking situation is irritating.

Room and service at the reception desk outstanding!
The breakfast was disappointing. Very basic, dry bread, plates were not cleaned properly but the service was horrendous. Nothing was refilled, slow coffee service but the worst were the dirty dishes everywhere! It was really busy so people had to sit down at tables with dirty dishes. The server passed by several times without taking the dishes with her. This is unacceptable for a hotel with that price point.

Hotel is very nice

I want to start off with saying, this is not a hotel for kids. There is no pool.
The rooms are super nice, very modern and up to date. There is no fridge, which i found kinda odd. And also no tub just a shower. There is also no black out curtains, which sucks, especially when travelling with a baby or toddler. Coffee in the room wasnt good and no coffee mate or creamer. We had to circle the block a few times because we weren't sure where to park. No room or clear signs.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Although it was not my first experience in a Germain Hotel, I can say that this one disappointed me considering the cost. The hotel is beautiful and clean, the bed is incredibly comfortable-true to their reputation, but various items seem unacceptable to me for a hotel of this standard. The bathroom door was so dusty that another guest had already written on "clean me" and there was a smell of mold in the shower, various things were to screw in our room and the blinds were all eighths ... The service was extremely displeasing to me at the Charcut: a very rough waiter and at the desk, let's say it was very uneven and impersonal. On the last morning, espresso machine can not make foamed milk and it lacks food despite being only 8:45. The menu is the same every morning, so after 4 days, we had enough. Let's say my experience was better in Charlevoix ... for the price.

Overall, an enjoyable experience. Bathroom was modern, bed was comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was nice.

The reason for a three star review instead of a four star review: the TV would consistently cut out every minute and the window blinds were not easily accessible and were damaged.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are very posh, the location of the hotel couldn't be better, the service at the establishment is great, and the staff are extraordinarily friendly. The hotel is probably more suitable for adults rather than children. I will likely try other Le Germain Hotel locations.

IF YOU LIKE SMOKED MEAT AND BACON, AND CAN APPRECIATE A VALET SERVICE THAT PUTS FOOD IN YOUR CAR WITHOUT BEING ASKED, THEN THIS IS THE HOTEL FOR YOU!
Although I would love to give this hotel more than one star, my recent experience at "one of the best hotels in Calgary", was both disappointing, and confusing.
The purpose of my trip was to surprise my wife with a birthday getaway. After reading the reviews on a number of hotels, I liked the ratings and the comments people left regarding their stay here. We checked into the hotel around 8pm Saturday night. Despite there being a valet, I asked where there was parking as the horror stories about these services leave me feeling uneasy. The front desk staff said that there was public parking for $10.00/hour, so the $30 valet seemed like a great deal. We dropped off our car, went to our room - where we stayed until we checked out the following morning. Our car was brought to the front for us, just as valets do, but when we got in, there was a horrendous smell. Sitting on the back seat was a box of take out from their restaurant. We didn't eat at their restaurant and we certainly did not order take out for our car. The box was full of smoked meat, bacon, and I am not sure what else as we were immediately enraged and went back inside. We confusingly showed the hotel staff what we found in our car. To be fair, the staff seemed just as confused as we were. After being interrogated by the staff, with questions like "did you order food and have it delivered to your car?", to which we replied "who even does that?", we came to the conclusion that CLEARLY somebody was in our vehicle who should not have been. We drove to Calgary, so we had to ride in our stinky smoked meat car for 3 hours home. After speaking to the manager, who was less than willing to accommodate our experience, we were told that it wasn't a big deal, as it was just human error. No, it was not human error, because one of your staff intentionally took my car keys for no reason, and took food to my car. There is no documentation of anyone actually asking for food to be left to stagnate in my car during the night. This was a violation of privacy to say the least, and the accusatory staff have not made it any better.

In the end we were told that we would receive some of our hotel charges back, which we have, but the whole experience was mind boggling. More so the excuse after excuse received.
Was it a nice hotel? The room was nice.
Was it worth the hassle of having to get my car cleaned? Absolutely not.
Am I confused on how this is the best hotel in Calgary? Yes
Would I ever return to this hotel? NEVER.
Would I order smoked meat and bacon from their restaurant? HELL NO.

Great Stay the staff is very accommodating and very attentive to all of your needs. They were even able to provide a crib and a diaper genie for my 18 month old! Will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Calgary.

It's the nicest hotel in Calgary! The bar was great, staff super amazing and rooms super clean. Great location in the heart of downtown Calgary, we were able to catch a glimpse of the Calgary tower straight from our room window, beside the hotel there is tons of food like milestones, a Donair shop, McDonald's and tons more. There were clubs, bars and shopping near by aswell. Only roughly 15 mins from the airport its a great place to stay everytime I go back thers!

GREAT!

This hotel charges you for restaurant bills outside the days you actually stayed there. I was shocked that my room was billed for restaurant charges not in my name, or my wife who was on the reservation...and there were charges from a whole day before we checked in. The charges were disputed and the hotel refuses to back down despite there being charges for days we were not even there, and the name on the receipts not matching the names on my room reservation. I honestly expected better of this hotel. I will not be staying at a Germain hotel again. Save yourself the hassle and stay at the Fairmont.

Wonderful staff & having upgraded to a mini-suite, my wife & spent 4 nights living The Life. Special thanks to Stephen (?), The Concierge!

Easy 5-7walk to at least a dozen or more decent restaurants. Across from Calgary Tower & revolving restaurant.

Stroll to Prince's Park.

Take in a Calgary Flames game about a 20 minute walk or $10 cab ride.

we've been on a long cross-country tour, and this is my favorite Hotel so far. The staff is very helpful. Charcut is very good. The bed and the room were extremely comfortable. I would definitely return to this hotel.

we have arrived late on one evening and left around noon the next day, because we were so late getting in we slept in, missing the complimentary breakfast. Staff was great about sending us down the street to the plowshare where we had probably the best breakfast we have had since we left home!

My wife & I were gifted a stay at the hotel for a wedding gift. We found the room to be above expectation with excellent amenities. The service was fabulous & everyone was very professional. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a high end hotel experience.

We stay at Hotel Le Germain Calgary a couple times...

We stay at Hotel Le Germain Calgary a couple times a year and our stays have been nothing short of exceptional. Besides the great central location and being only minutes from our favorite restaurant Klein and Harris, the hotel design itself is beautiful and modern. The front lobby is staffed with friendly, helpful people and always decorated with beautiful, seasonal flowers.

I compliment the staff for their care and attention to detail. The reservations manager, Sujung Kim, was very efficient and detail oriented helping us with our reservation. Once she found out that we were celebrating a birthday, they had a few surprises/treats waiting for us on arrival and in our room. The staff also organized and took the time and care to individually sign a birthday card that was placed in our room. They know just how to make their guests feel special.
We also took advantage of their Spa Couple Package. It was a wonderful experience for those who like to be pampered. The RnR Wellness spa is located on the top floor of the hotel and is a calming oasis in the middle of the city. We had a relaxing couples massage after a long drive in a beautiful room. Our registered massage therapists, Emma and Emma, (names were a co-incidence) were professional and great at their craft.

Hotel stays also include a fantastic, delicious breakfast buffet. Buffets are always difficult for us because my partner has several dietary restriction and allergies. As we had mentioned this at check in, Nadine, in the breakfast room, was well aware and awaiting our arrival. She took utmost care of us. Chef David went out of his way to specially prepare the breakfast items so that my partner could eat with no worries about his allergies. Chef David makes the most excellent freshly baked focaccia bread and even came out to check on us to ensure everything was ok.

Hotel Le Germain is definitely our favorite place to stay in Calgary. We cannot wait until our next visit!

The hotel is extremely nice. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. I docked a star because we called for room service and it never arrived. Had to call a second time to actually get it. The food was quite good when we got it.

Best hotel I've stayed at since the cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Amazing service, comfortable over sized king beds, sweet water fall type shower and the room service food was second to none. They also we're very welcoming to our small pug and brought up treats and a bed with special water and food dish! Love it :)

Very nice and cleanly room, super helpful and accomodating staff. A lot of noise though. Big gaps at bottom of room doors. Found the breakfast rather bland. But the people and service is top notch

Le Germaine was everything we hoped for and more as a romantic getaway hotel. We spent Valentines here, and my partner and I fell in love with it. The staff were incredible and the room was flawless. We will be back, evening it is only once a year.

An absolutely exquisite experience! The hotel rooms were gorgeous and clean. The lights were eco-friendly and so were the washrooms. The shower had a rain shower head and a walk in shower. Breakfast was complimentary and delicious with pastries, toast, and sausages with free coffee and tea. The employees were friendly and extremely helpful. A 10/10 experience!

This hotel is extremely modern and elegant. The restaurant is a little disappointing, especially for vegan options, but the atmosphere is very nice. My favourite part is the rooms! It's not every day when a hotel has a nice concierge and even nicer rooms! I loved the city view looking to Brookfield and the Telus building. There is no pool but there is a fitness center. Easily best hotel in Calgary, but would still say it's a little expensive especially since there is no pool.

Nice place
