Huge hostel with a great outdoor area. Met a lot of amazing people here and loved the pub crawl! Little expensive but you're in NYC what do you expect

Very good hostel at ok prices. Rooms vary seemingly from floor to floor but all are fairly good, each bed came with a light and mains socket next to it along with large lockers.
Ours included a basic free breakfast (fresh bagel, fruit and drink) which was a good start to the day.
Outside of the rooms, the rest of the hostel is well kept with and they offer a variety of facilities.
Location is decent but not amazing, a long walk or shortish tube journey can get you into central Manhattan, with central park just a couple of blocks away.
Amazing atmosphere. Immediately found people to hang out with. Great location and clean rooms. Staff was really friendly
Clean, friendly and polite staff, Comfy beds, own temperature control in room, great large kitchen, decent location. Lots of schools staying though so if you don't like kids/teens probably not for you.
Elevator doesn't want - no hearing or cooling in the room and the worst of all no hot water in the shower... , bed squeak alot. friendly front desk staff
Should have just stayed in a hotel to sleep better- won't come here again.
Location is nice and rooms are clean but it was cold and blanket was too thin.
Perfect place to stay when traveling! They offer a good services, they have many events and tour guids, super super cool!
Friendly staff, subway in walking distance. Can get a bit noisy though
The toilets are shared and my room was far away from the nearest one.
You can walk from the beautiful Central Park. Good security
Before I left for NY, I tried to find a No. 1 hostel which with good price, convenient place with safe & soft bed.
When I arrived there, I think it is a correct choice and try to have a good sleep. However, I cannot believe there has such a big surprise gift for me. After 12am, someone came back with a girl and began to do the thing which should only do in a private room for 2 adult. Hey man; this is a room for 8 Male, not for couples. They made a big noise and the guy who sleep downside has to go outside. I even think he must go to ask security man to check it.
Someone came in after 1 am that interrupted the action of the lover. I think I slept when they were quiet after 3 am.
I tried to complain to the manager in the next morning, the answer is they can do nothing if we had not talk to them even there is CCTV may catch that. For the red on the body, they said that absolutely not bite by bedbug. I can say nothing but left with disappointed.
Everyone has different experience, this is mine here and the reason I rate it not good.
The reception is perfect fast simple the rooms are the image of what is proposed on sites.petit dej complete .room and sanitary very very clean .calme and resting and 2 minutes from the metro and 5 minutes central for park. ..to do again with enormous pleasure
comfortable, helpful employees, Great sleeping+holding arrangement.
Excellent, very clean, good location and has all the services
Stayed one night. They charge $4 for non-members. Had 10-person dormitory. Someone else was on my spot. Figured it out peacefully.
Big rooms with big lockers, airco all around, nice chilling rooms, boardgames, 8ball and pingpong, wifi, all for free, a nice garden to sit in, just one block from subway which can take u to Times square within 10min. Really recommend this place!
The location of this hostel is not ideal since most NYC visitors want to be a few miles further South; However the hostel itself is great. The outdoor courtyard is a nice touch and there is plenty of sitting space and fun activities for guests.
Better than Jazz on the Park by far (and usually cheaper), better than Greenpoint Ymca if you do not have to go to the Brooklyn convention center and you just need somewhere to stay. Stayed 4 days in a row! Has elevators, a huge updated kitchen to cook in, showers clean. Awesome lounge area, best i have seen in over 6 hostels.
Once they tried to put me in a hot room with a messy bed at night, i complained they replaced with a good attitude. The store across the street sells bottled water for $1. Area is friendly, St Michael's church is a few blocks away. Good restaurants both directions like Pearl's, Momma's pizza and more.
You get what you pay for, this place.is an essential as a backpacker, always something happening, always new people with stories to tell.
Lots of tours and this place is just alive with an electric atmosphere love it!!
Very clean. Staff listening. Never disappointed with the HI group.
Great activities and nice decor. Its located truely at the upperside of the island, so you'll always be 20-30mins from the centre by subway.
I have been 3 days but liked a lot , it has helpfull staff and so sweet yard.
Very nice place to stay, the location was clean and comfortable with good service
Food was OK but our food that we ordered to be ready at 8 came at 930
Close to subway. New/well maintained facilities. Good lockers. Comfortable beds. Great common areas. Good kitchen. Awesome place.
Good Hostel with cheap rates and we'll equipped facilities but have to share and can explore more with new friends
I went to a private event the space was good for the price.
Great infrastructure, it's really worth the money. The crowd is nice here
We use one of their large rooms available to rest for parties or meetings. The staff is great and the facility is well cared for. It s in a good location.
Hi all.
This has been an excellent experience. The grand hotel, with lots of activities to do. Clean, complete and very comfortable facilities. The incredible prices to be so close to Central Park. The people in front of the hotel with excellent treatment and service. The tour guides paid my respects, they filled us with NY in just a few days. I am very grateful and I would love to return soon.
Congratulations to all

Dorm rooms. Clean like new bathrooms. Social events every day. Nice common areas. Friendly staff and guests.
Very convenient. Close to cenfral park and subway that connects you with everything.
Just dropped off a few people for a trip. Didn't have much time at the hostel.
Awesome hostel. Folks from all over the world, friendly staff. Maybe bring earplugs though, if someone in your room is a loud snorer.
A great place to stay. All the facilities for a amazing visit to NYC. A lot of programs and different things to do
It was super cool staff. Highly recommend it's close to everything .... sdds already.
I had never stayed in Hostel but I was traveling alone and thought in would be great way to meet people. It was one of the best vacations I've ever had! The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. My roommates were equally fabulous. Such an amazing experience! I recommend that everyone stays in Hostel at least once! I've already booked a room in my next location, Paris!
Although prices can be exorbitantly high in New York and living standards commonly pretty low, I found this Hostel to be surprisingly cheap and very clean. The bathroom and toilets were really nice, the buffet had a good breakfast and diner selection. The kitchen was also very tidy and was well equipped - there is a "theater" room (some nice sofas with a large TV) - there is also a pool table and some docking stations to charge your phone - also the personell was very kind. Bottom line: go there, you will like it if you are familiar with the concept of a hostel.
Nice place to stay, friendly and helpfull staff. Metrostation nearby. But some distance from the main attractions
Awesome hostel. Good location, 1 block from subway and few blocks from central park. The rooms and bathroom are very clean and the staff is the best.
Great place and location - clean, quiet, and cool. Lots of amenities, including pool table, games, computers, lounge and large deli (but prices too high). Also, dunkin donuts, pizza, and a couple of decent delis/groceries across the street.
Very nice hostel, spacious, well equipped kitchen, but it's location could be in a better place.
Very nice place, welcoming people, clean room and bathroom, lot of activities and near from subway.
Visitor from France
I like the hotel. All the guests were very friendly. The only thing I did not like is that it is located in a somewhat dangerous area
Spacious rooms. WiFi works everywhere, not just the common areas.
Very friendly, clean, fairly priced. The subway is only a block away.
Very nice place to stay. Staff are very friendly. The pace is super clean which is most important .
Better than I had expected - had towels, comfortable beds, etc.
Good location, good prices. Rich and varied breakfasts, nice clean and spacious rooms (those of 6). Clean bathrooms.
Very big hostel with lots of common areas and a great patio. Deluxe bunks are very comfy
Ideal place to visit NYC with a group: cleanliness, services, near the metro .... at the top !!!
I went to an outdoor concert..great time and friendly staff
Welcoming youth hostel: We stayed in a women's dormitory, which allowed us to have some very nice meetings and to exchange between tourists.
The dormitories are clean and the toilets too (on 4 days, only one shower to miss the pressure). The team is welcoming and offers many activities (visit and others). The collective kitchen is clean and practical (labels available to identify his business) and otherwise the cafe built into the hostel serves good breakfasts (eg egg + bacon + bagel for $ 5)
The location is ideal for visiting Manhattan, walking through Central Park (MEt, Midtown, ..) or Metro (3min walk) for the rest
Great hostel! Great security, very clean, good location!
I get that it s New York but the hostel is so expensive for what you get.
He was so kind to me even though I was late.
The room was clean and the bedding was good. There was no noise.
If there was any inconvenience, the shower did not have warm water and the water pressure was too weak
A beautiful place, modern, very clean, staff is helpful and friendly, location is beautiful, and you make friends very easily! The activites organized are the best!!!! My home whenever I get the chance to travel to NYC again. I hope very soon! LOVE YOU ALL GUYS!!!!
Beautiful place, good location (near the subway, key).
Very well balanced hostel. Not a "party hostel" but they do free pub crawls twice a week and a hostel party once per week. The rooms were nice and the location of the building was nice as well, right next to multiple places to eat and the subway station for transport. Staff were nice, and the cafe in the first floor was solid.
Generally a poor experience.
I'm a wheelchair user and they put me on the top bunk. When I highlighted the obvious issue with that, they moved me. To a bunk that was already occupied. Finally they put me in a bunk that wasn't occupied and that I could physically get into, unfortunately the room was almost as far as possible from an accessible bathroom (seriously, there were only 2 rooms further away). The person assisting me found the whole situation very funny.
There was no wifi in the room, meaning if I wanted to contact my family, I had to do so sitting in the corridor.
The lift was temperamental at best, taking several minutes to reach certain floors, meaning I was at times stranded. Sunken patio, whilst lovely to look at isn't wheelchair accessible.
It seemed clean enough, although one of the rooms I was put in did smell like a mixture of banana and vomit.
Three stars because the rooms weren't dirty.
Disappointment at the beginning of the stay but quickly catch up with the professionalism of the team clean and welcoming place
One of the best hostels. Perfect for those who travel alone!
Nicer than I expected! Comfortable beds and a fun place to stay when visiting NYC.
A great hostel with value for money. Filled with activities, fabulous roommates, and clean kitchens, the hostel needs to improve the cleanliness of the restroom and efficiency of the elevator.
The place is clean and nice.
They have daily entertainment programs.
Pleasant atmosphere, excellent staff service, spacious and clean rooms, as well as banhos, varied breakfast, also offers restaurant service. Excellent location, near the metro and tourist areas.
Amazing place, friendships I made there unforgettable, all very well arranged, despite the lack of good sealing in some windows, the price is great and the experience amazing.
It's a great place at a great price. Great customer service and awesome environment
