Lions gate rehab has been one of the worst experie...

Lions gate rehab has been one of the worst experiences in my life. It started with a poor job at the hospital and the the condition got worst during rehab. They kicked me out because therapy wasn't helping. Well the reason it wasn't helping was because it was the wrong type. The first hospital missed the compression fracture and never brought in anyone for the spinal stenosis and now three weeks later im back in hospital #2 for another mri xrays biopsy and cat scann to find out if its an infection or a fracture. Wish me luck

They took terrible care of my father (I had to be vigilant for them to provide basic care) and I heard another story today (completely unsolicited ) - which prompted me to write this review - do not send your loved ones here - considering building a website to collect everyone' s experience here - very few ppl have a good experience here in rehab. palliative care and hospice - very few

One of the worst experiences ever. My mother got increasingly worse during her 3 weeks in rehab. Total neglect & lack of concern for her well being. Plus they charged us for an extra day & refused to remove the charge from her bill. In talking to the financial person there, she was very rude & uncooperative. Do not send your loved ones here.

Completely and utterly disappointed.
From the treatment by the staff who are supposed to be caring for my aunt (they don t), to the administrative staff, this facility misses the mark at every turn.

Lack of responsiveness, zero empathy, and there is absolutely no advocacy for those in their care. Seems all they care about is getting people out of the facility, not ensuring residents receive empathetic and sincere care.

I think this a very good life care community. My family has been affiliated since 2014 and has utilized assisted living, rehab and dementia care for assisted living. The one stars sound like sour grapes from dirt bags who were lucky to get there on rehab and have the state pay for them.

My father was very disappointed with his experience at Lion s Gate Rehab. Here is his review as he stated it to me. The food is terrible and only offered you two options for dinner every night neither one of them what you want. The room is minimal with a thin hospital bed mattress that is plastic and makes noise with every move you make. Care is minimal. Not rude or mean just minimal and and Neglectful (forgot to pick me up for meals while in wheelchair. I had to wheel myself . I waited for someone to pick me up for breakfast but no one showed up so I wheeled myself down from my room to the luncheon area and then wheeled myself back because after an hour and no one came to pick me up to take me back to my room. This happened daily for meals.) The nursing staff was nice enough just not offering much to be desired. My daughter who visited helped me do things the nurses should have, like getting in bed at night and getting to meals. Compaired to other rehabilitation places the care here was almost nonexistent. I could sit there for hours and never see anybody aside for a pulse check every 3 hours or so. Even worse is when I had to inform the nurses that they hadn t given me my medication which they did not realize. PT was a half an hour a day. It was minimal attention including one day where they wanted me to use an exercise bike that I had to wait over five minutes to use. I rode the bike for 15 minutes and then my session was over and I was sent back to my room. If this is supposed to be rehabilitation for me to get stronger and better to go home they certainly aren t doing much of it. Other than having a desperately terrible experience and wanted to go home right away because I was miserable there it was a wonderful time. I would like to state that we felt that this review needed to be said because while the rehab was relatively clean and the staff was not abusive major improvements still need to be made to garner the reputation of excellence it is supposed to have. We gave a low review in hopes these issues are addressed and improved for future patients. And just to add, my father got much better once I got him home.

Don t go here. Save yourself the headache. Owners are very cheap. Old school cheap. Will try to get every dollar from you. Food sucks. For the money you are paying you d think they would provide better care. My mom didn t receive much attention from under paid staff.

We moved our parents from an awful facility in Sewell. What a difference at Lions Gate! Residents and visitors are treated like family by caring and friendly staff. We are now comfortable trusting our parents care to skilled staff. Food here is also so much better, and our parents actually get complete meals, with nothing missing, which really impressed us.

Shame! The rehab center is run and staffed by the most unprofessional and disrespectful people. The management should be ashamed by the lack of values and common decency they fail to instill in their employees. This place is a pure money grab. Cheap terrible food, low paid staff that doesn't care about the patients. At night and over the weekends, totally understaffed. Patients have to wait for over an hour to get attention. The nursing staff is horrendous (there is one good nurse, the rest are terrible). Nurse assistants could care less about anything. Nobody here knows how to even smile and say hello. The doctors who are sent over are complete idiots barely out of school. You have to watch every pill and medicine they give or they will make a mistake. Considering what this place claims to be or was meant to be, it is not even close. The CEO of Lions Gate Susan Love needs to take full responsibility and institute changes if she has any integrity.

Very competent, compassionate, and caring staff in the Skilled Nursing area. Overall, I am very impressed and happy with the level of care, professionalism, and quality people that they employ to provide care.

I keep trying to call my mom and no one ever returns my phone call. I ve left several messages for nursing and the Administrator and no call back. Hoping to travel there soon so I can help her transfer out of there. Will be contacting the NJ ombudsman next.

My husband has been in the rehab facility at Lions Gate on two separate occasions. Both times I was impressed with the competence of the medical staff and competence and caring attitude of the support staff. In my opinion that is what is most important in choosing a rehab facility for someone in your family. My only complaint would be the quality of the food that is served. It definitely needs improvement. However, in the scheme of things it was not the food that made the difference in my husband's rehabilitation. It was the people at Lions Gate who assisted his effort. xoxoxox
