They ve remodeled the hotel and it looks and feels wonderful! The staff is very helpful and they have a new M Club Lounge for your rewards members! The restaurant has some new items but a lot of old favorites on the menu as well. Get the Brussels sprouts! They are so delicious! The rooms are beautiful and the beds are so comfortable. It s close to the airport so it s a quick ride over if you have a quick layover.

Loved the remodeled Marriott. Only downside was we went in for supper and they had a lounge-type seating, tables lower than they expected you to bend over and eat with. They have a whole dining room behind the bar area they only open for breakfast that has decent tables. Food and service were good. Loved their breakfast. The room had faulty thermostat temp kept going up, by morning our room was 80, we had to take the front of the thermostat off to get it to turn off, heard up no matter on air, heat or system off. We did alert the front desk.
I checked into my room and it was quite dirty. Found sticky "chocolate, candy" on the bed and floor, and hair all over inside the sink, and a bottle of milk in the fridge. Small details, but I was a little paranoid for the rest of my stay. There was construction crews there, which I understand, but doors would be left open and they would let each other in through the back which made me feel unsafe. There was no breakfast included in my stay which seemed weird for a Marriott. They did have a "bistro" that had decent food, but they wanted an arm and a leg for it. I couldn't eat breakfast for less than $15-20. Thank goodness my work was paying or I would have starved. Since my room was dirty I was a bit paranoid for the safety of the food, but so far, I'm not showing any sytmoms of poisoning . Also, avoid their pitchers of water.... they are not clean, pitchers are scratched and very worn, and the water tastes stale, like it's been there for days. Side note : Hot tub wasn't very warm, gym was ok. Best part of my stay was the cook/driver that cooks the breakfast and drives the shuttle. He was kind and funny.
NO HOT WATER for the duration of my stay! This... is a deal breaker! Motel 6 has rooms with hot water! "Technician is working on the problem." (The "problem" was never resolved.)
Had a problem with the first room. The friendly staff replaced the room to my expectations. The meeting rooms were convenient. They also have a shuttle to the airport.
Better Than Sleeping at the Airport - We ended up staying here due to our flight being cancelled during winter storm Bruce. We decided on this hotel, because most Marriott hotels have a restaurant and a shuttle to and from the airport (this hotel has a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes to the airport). We were able to get a reservation and promptly check-in early when we arrived. This was about all that was good about our stay here.
The room we were provided was one of the sub-terrain units on floor 1, which is half underground. The room was fine, but the temperature was very cold and never got about 67 degrees during our overnight stay. We were concerned about the climate system working properly, so we asked maintenance to check it out and they indicated to us that it was fine. Still, it never got above 67 degrees. The bed was comfortable, but the mattress pads they use are not very good and kept creasing to the point of being a nuisance.
We tried to have dinner in the restaurant, which started out with over a 1-1/2hr wait for a table, because the manager would not open up the overflow dining area to accommodate everyone stuck there during the snow storm. Also, further adding to the wait, was a large group of Southwestern Airlines pilots monopolizing a large table for over 3hrs even though they have a lounge in the hotel dedicated just for them. NOTE: This hotel has a contract with this airline to accommodate their crews. The wait got so bad, that we basically had to eat dinner at a coffee table in the bar area. Climate in the bar-restaurant area felt cold too.
Overall, I don't think I would stay here again if I could avoid it. I would definitely look for somewhere else to stay around the airport before choosing this hotel.
Newly renovated, very nice clean rooms and the staff are very friendly and professional! The food in the restaurant is excellent. Very convenient to MCI and they even have a long term parking option and shuttle if you stay there.
Beautifully renovated hotel including rooms, staff is always friendly and helpful, stayed here many times never been disappointed and now the experience has been improved, thx Marriott.
Very noisy property and not because of airport. I heard noise from upstairs all night long two nights no sleep ! The shower leaked and not enough towels, only two washcloths. Will not stay here again.
Worse place i have ever worked in my life.. They are not for the employees..if you get hurt they DONT CARE ABOUT YOU!!! ALL THEY WANT TO KNOW IS WHEN WILL YOU BE BACK TO WORK.
Even though it is by the airport, this is a quiet location. Restaurant views the lake and is very peaceful to sit by the windows and have breakfast. Easy access to the interstate too, without the noise.
Decent hotel room, don't have any real complaints whatsoever. Company purchased the room, so I can't really speak to pricing. The restaurant is wonderful, although a bit pricey as to be expected.
I love staying here on my overnights. As a flight attendant I'm usually very tired and hungry at the end of the day. The staff at this Marriott take great care of us, the food at the restaurant is always delicious, and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. They have a great workout facility and if you enjoy running, there's a nice little Trail around the lake.
My family was provided a voucher to stay there after our flight was delayed. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The accommodations were clean and nice.
I had a great room overlooking the area. Extremely comfortable bed, very plush. I liked that there was a fridge in the room. That was a pleasant surprise.
they need to do something with the weekend bar staff. middle end off week Tom can do more by himself than the other 3 on the weekend and is real deal to costumers
Room was OK. Not super elegant, but it was a place to stay. No complimentary breakfast, and the business center requires a fee as well. Best thing about this is the proximity to the airport.
Stayed at the hotel on 6/7/17 had to say the renovation was very loud. But the lady at the front desk was very helpful in the matter. Didn't catch her name but I remember she had black glasses. She deserves a raise in my eyes. Her customer service was A+
Hotel is conveniently located to the KC airport, and a shuttle seems to run frequently. I stay here quite a bit, and upon arrival, the check in this time, the process seemed a little long when their were only 2 people ahead of me, and two associates doing the check in. I waited patiently, until another guest came down after me, but was serviced before me. No greeting or acknowledgment of which line was available. When I finally checked in, I was thanked for being a gold member, but the status should not matter, a customer is a customer. The concierge lounge is decent, however the food selection is not as varied as some of the other Marriott's that I've visited in the past...more like light appetizers. There is ample parking, but beware....the lighting is not sufficient, the parking lot is too dark in the evenings. I ordered room service, and it came in a styrofoam box and a plastic bag, no sufficient utensils to cut the steak I ordered. Overall, it is a decent hotel, recently remodeled, but if you are a frequent Marriott member, it does not compare to some of the other Marriott hotels in other cities.
Staff in restaurant and reception were excellent. Room was a little dated but nice and clean. Need was comfortable. Reception staff when I checked in is clearly ex-military - was rude and abrupt. A tip for her - saying 'welcome' doesn't mean your being welcoming. It's all about your attitude, tone and demeanor.
Be aware that most rooms in the North tower don't have heat, and the ones in the South tower do. The management is well aware of the issue, but doesn't seem to take it seriously.
Every time I check in, they assign me a room in the North tower and claim that the heating problem is fixed. Once I complain about not having heat, they move me to the South tower. I've gone through this frustrating process multiple times since I've stayed at this hotel a few times.
The rooms are renovated and very nice. The lounge and breakfast are excellent as well. But, not having heat in such a cold winter is a major problem. What makes it more frustrating is lack of transparency and the fact that the staff always attempts to put the guests in a room without heat, hoping that they don't complain.
I ordered the steak salad in their restaurant and the greens were not fresh! They added the dressing which was a lot thats why the salad was overpowering! The waiter Thomas was asking me for my payment when he has not even handed me my food!! Service is everything! Waiter made my salad taste worse!
Beautiful facility in the middle of nowhere. Room was comfortable beautiful and we'll thought out. Bathroom was recently upgraded. Shuttle the the airport was very timely.
The room was nice and the overall look of the hotel was inviting. The entire staff was friendly and approachable. The breakfast buffet was decent. The Burnt Ends Mac and Cheese was the perfect late evening bowl of KC comfort food! I didn't give five stars because of a couple of small issues with the room. My floors were never swept from the time I got there to the time I left. There was also an issue with the shower not draining properly. Others in our group had similar issues with their rooms. If the building maintenance was a little higher it could have made this stay top notch. Oh, make sure you get your morning coffee from Mai. I'm not a regular coffee drinker but she converted me!
The staff is friendly, well trained, and go out of their way to correct any issues that might arise. The property is clean, nice rooms. WiFi works well. Good restaurant, although a bit pricy. They also have a complimentary airport shuttle. There is a running path along the lake just outside the property.
Ok so when i showed up first off my bathrub had water and dirt in it. When i tried to run the water it was clogged so they switched me rooms. There was no safe nor microwave like advertised. I had to switch tv remotes several times because the tv or remote was not syncing. Room service skipped servicing my room 5 days in a row when i only requested 3 over the weekend when i would not be there. The bathrooms are super small, your knees touch the door when you sit down. The beds were comfy and pillows but my room was freezing all the time since my a/c heat did not work. I got food poisoning one night at the restaurant bar which waa overpriced and my stomach was tore up for 2 days. My bathroom door had holes in it, the walls are super thin so you hear everything. Yes its 5 min from the airport but not near any dining out or shopping. If it wasnt for the staff being super friendly and going above and beyond to fix or accomodate my complaints they would get 2 stars. I understand this place is under renovations but there was too much going on that really made me want to switch hotels and i couldnt because my organization paid for it. The walls could use a paint job as well.
Good place to stay for someone who is staying there for a few days. They have done tremendous upgrades to the hotel and rooms. Only issues I had is that there's no a/c after 6pm..? That was the weird thing that I encountered while I was there, other Tha. That pretty good hotel
