My name is Ed and I think it is safe to say that no one really enjoys the process of financing a new home or refinancing an existing property. However, my experience with Home Rate Mortgage, and specifically with Tara, was as pleasant as it could be. Coming from a corporate culture that emphasized customer service, I am generally disappointed with most organizations with whom I come in contact. Tara, was always accessible and willing to answer questions and help me and my wife through a process that is not always easy to grasp. We will be closing on our loan today and would not hesitate to contact HRM for future financing needs.

I was working with Richard. He was going to do a VA loan for me. I admit my house is not ready for a VA loan inspection but was not made aware of that by Richard. I went there on a Wednesday. Then the next week Richard went on vacation and I had not heard anything from him. I talked to another person who informed me it was sent to the underwriters for review. Then on the week he should have been back from vacation I called and left a message with receptionist, then one on his voice mail, then the next day another message left with a person who shares his office and then sent him an email and never got a response. I ended up calling his boss. I stopped the loan because of Richard and finding out at the last minute that my house would not pass VA inspection.

First Time Home Buyer!! I started off with many questions about if I could buy or not. Isaiah Tate answered all of my questions. I do not like uploading documents online so went to his office. He got everything submitted and I left with a Pre-Approval Letter. He told me that all that was left to do was to find the place. I searched and called him about several homes and asked a ton of questions. He always answered them and some I had already asked before. He always stayed very professional, hard working and was honest. Once the process was officially started I was in contact with Samantha Sharp. She immediately picked up where Isaiah left off and did not slack. She was very understanding and helpful. She also worked extremely hard and stayed in contact to keep us updated on the process. The team work and experience with them was Excellent!! I would recommend HomeRate Mortgage but I urge you to work with Isaiah or Samantha and get the TOP NOTCH Service that I received.

Currently working with HomeRate Mortgage and I am SO disappointed! I hear the commercials every single day, so they were the first place I went. First contact was great, after that, we were given to someone else and the lack of communication and email etiquette is UNREAL!! If you like confirmation emails after you've sent them a TON of very personal information, forget it! Just a simple, "Hey, I got your information, I'm sending it over to the underwriter and will let you know when I hear back."....nope, you won't get that type of security here. A simple email like that takes second to write, but I guess that's too much to ask for. Instead, you'll get the "I'm sorry, I was out of the office". Well, I'm sorry, learn how to use the "out of office" feature if that's the case, but I guess he couldn't do that since I sent the email while he WAS in the office, it was the next business day he wasn't. I would love to know the reason for the continued lack of communication now that he's already used up that excuse.
I hope our experience gets better, but no, I most definitely would NOT recommend HomeRate Mortgage!

Customer service sucks. They hit our credit score twice and wouldn t call us back. My wife called them and they kept saying someone would call us in an hour. Many hours later and a day later on one instance they finally called. I guess Ben Phillips is spending too much time doing radio commercials to worry about helping clients.
Nathan was a true champion throughout the process especially since we went back and forth on whether we wanted to refinance or take a home equity loan elsewhere. Disappointing. Not honest or up front about things. I heard about this company through a christian radio station and I guess because of that I expected a certain level of honesty which I did not receive. I was honest about my credit situation and I knew exactly what my score was, instead of saying we are unable to get approval for that she said she would run it and see. Then I call back the next day because I never heard back only to be told they have a policy for xxx credit score which I had already explained I did not have. Now my score is lower because of the inquiry and I have a hard hit to my credit. I just expected honesty and it was not given. It's just very disappointing.
Brian Currier was very professional, from my initial contact all the way through closing. I don't think I've ever experienced a higher level of customer service than he and Racheal Ruth provided in this process. I will highly recommend him to others.
This was the nicest home loan experience I could have asked for. All I had to do was have one meeting with Brian, and we knew we were in good hands. He explained all the options we had and got us a fantastic rate. From the initial meeting, the service only improved. Brian didn't bug us. WOW!!!!!! How do I begin? First of all I heard about HRM on radio advertisements for months. Radio Station WNML Sports talk radio 99.1 Knoxville TN. Erik Ainge VFL talks about them in commercial and live from time to time. After hearing about them and what they were doing to help people save thousands of dollars, I thought I would check it out.
