The owner here was shockingly rude and referred to me as "the second one" to call today. God only knows what he meant by that...

Never have been so disrespected in my life if you re looking for a home keep away from this place. If you want to be accused a liar and want to get yelled at for no reason whatsoever this is your place, but if you re looking for some good customer service please keep away

THIS IS INDEED THE WORST PLACE TO RENT A HOME FROM. I WOULDN'T ADVISE ANYONE TO RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!! THIS PLACE DOESN'T DESERVE A STAR OR PEBBLE!! THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN POST HERE, YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE AT LEAST ONE STAR! SO THERE YOU HAVE IT! ONE STAR! AT LEAST MY POST STANDS!!!!

I ve been living in my apartment for over a year now. Repair request get done quick. The rent is extremely cheap for a 2br apartment. You get what you pay for. It s a no frills apartment. I haven t had any major issues with home real estate at all. I recommend them if you are looking to have a safe clean place to rent for a low price.

Addressed all my concerns promptly, but only because they are legally required to do so. Have everything in writing, keep an extra copy...

Read the legal paperwork and stick to it as you likely will have problems with this company.

For whatever reason they require certified checks to pay for everything or force you through a third party online billing company that charges something like $25+ just to pay your rent.

I had a summary eviction compliant filed against me. So there's that. They've also shown up on my credit report as a "new account" - so that's interesting...

Had an issue with mold that began to affect my health. Excessive moisture was observed in the house, but I figured the house didn't have insulation and needed to "breathe".
That's normally handled by the fireplace, but they had blocked that up. Great. Whatever, house had heat & good enough, or so I thought.

Mold grew from behind the walls within several months. I evacuate the place as mold is now growing on every paper or wood products in the house! Come to find out, there's standing water in the crawl space for WEEKS at a time.

They pin all responsibility for the property on you, and provide the property "AS IS" - better have someone who knows building code to go with you if you're looking at renting ANY of their properties.

I rented a place from them. I reported a leak in my ceiling that was gathering water in light fixture.
It took days for someone to come by but when he did & saw it, he said it wasn't that bad.
2 days later the whole ceiling caved in. I was furious & went to the office & told them my ceiling caved in. They told me I had to put my complaint in writing. I left & stayed with family, since this happened on October 3rd. They finally fixed it at the end of November & had the audacity to charge me for October & November rent. I finally moved back in December to find mold had grown all over the new ceiling. When I complained about that, they filed for eviction a week later.

If I could give this "business" zero stars, I would. I haven't even rented from them and the two times I went to look at their properties, it was horrible. The first time I went they gave me a key to a home that was NO LONGER available. My husband and I actually fell in love with the house and when we returned the key to fill out an application, she then informed us that it was no longer available... Ridiculous!! Why give us the key if thats the case? Now the second time on November 29th of 2017 was horrific. We went to one of their properties and at this particular property, it was nothing like the description online! The second we went inside, there had appeared to be a second floor to the house, which they claim is an "attic". My assumption is that they have NOT kept up to date with this house because it was no longer an "attic", it was a homemade room upstairs! Disgusting dirty room, cardboard nailed into the ceiling, parts of the walls were missing and broken. Old dirty blankets all over the place and worst of all, there were USED needles all over the place... . If it wasn't for my husband being so observant, I would of walked all over them myself! Imagine if I had kids with me and we went looking at houses as a FAMILY and god forbid one of my kids gets poked or touched one of those disgusting needles! When I brought this to the Realtors attention, i do not know her name because of no name tag but she is currently pregnant, she simply replied with "I'm sorry, I will let the property manager know" and completely ignored anything else I had to say!!! I even took a video of the place and she had no interest in watching it!! So unprofessional and honestly saddening. This place should be shut down. Makes absolutely no sense!

I dont understand how some of there houses are bad looking/ in bad conditions and they have the nerve to do credit check on people and disapprove someone who dont even have bad rental history!! Then they have the nerve to say they houses are "AS IS " me and my boyfriend went to see a house which was not in good condition, windows broke, refrigerator real nasty, blinds broken nd dirty, stove real old nd dirty, windows very old, front porch falling apart but had the nerve to disapprove him !! Like really Home Real Estate... on top of that app fee 40$

They want me to wait a 1 week and 1/2 knowing its going to snow and i have three kids in the home and staff is extremely rude and I've been putting up with this company for 22 years terrible customer service mantainence worst i company ever i would put zero stars but i cant and i just want people to know before choosing this company

Horrible company. They rent places full of mold and just paint over it.

Very unprofessional and terrible customer service. The information on their own website listings is wrong and they don't tell you until you come to make an application. Don't rent here.

They are only getting a star because I had to push it to write an review. First all the properties are holes in the wall! Old unrenovated from the 1930s!! The house I seen smelt old no one bothered to clean it. The wooden floors were uneven and the 3rd bedroom was a joke! I checked the key out on a Friday thinking they would have a drop box seeing that I don t get off until 6p and would be unable to return on Monday; they did not! So finally on my off day I was nice enough to return the key to them & they refused to give me back my $10 even though they took the key! I should have put that rink a dink key to that raggedy house in the trash! The house was trash, all their listings are trash they are trash!

If you're renting from this company just keep in mind that if you have to break your lease out of emergency, they expect you to continue to pay rent afterwards for each month the home remains empty, meaning if I break my lease and no one rents my house for like 6 months I'm expected to pay for all those months. I think this is a horrible policy and wish that they could be more like other companies I've rented from and just charge a fee for breaking the lease, or charge for two months after or something to that extent, I've never heard of a policy like this. Because of this policy I'm now having to post ads to find someone to take over my lease, all while having my hours at work drastically cut because of a medical emergency, I have no idea if I'll be able to pay rent next month or the month after that, and am extremely worried about it. second star just because the house is nice, and we have never received any complaints or had any problems with our appliances.

I will never rent from them again and I would not send nobody to them. I lost my section 8 because of the lies. The house I was renting was not worth 795 rooms was small. Carol would say one prices but switch it around when ask about she is a big lier too. Don't rent from them go to somebody else!!!

Great place. They take care of the tenants and do their best to keep the properties in the best condition as possible. Very nice people in the office as well.

The real estate company has been around for many years and friendly folks that have plenty of properties they helpful to the average renter

I rented from these people for 7 years with a great pay history and the gave me a bad rental reference upon my departure. They also have issues with old places and mold in their establishment. Terrible company.

WE'VE BEEN WITH THIS COMPANY FOR 3 YEARS AND THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!!! ANYTIME WE CALL THEM (WHICH IS VERY VERY RARELY) THEY GET THINGS DONE CHECK THEM OUT THEY HAVE HOUSES, APARTMENTS, REAL ESTATE, ETC THEY ARE VERY NICE PEOPLE AND THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU

Im a homeless veteran living in a shelter I went through home real estate to find me a place to live .. to make a long story short home real estate took me on this wild goose chase. they led me to believe that I was approved for an apartment only to find out they approved several other people for the same apartment and it was race to see who could come up with the money first , would be the one who gets the apartment. the staff was rude , un professional and disrespectful. The receptionist was awful. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM they are sneaky, they fail to tell you certain information and they lead you on. I will be reporting them to the news channel.. they have done this to several veterans in the past and before me.

horrible experience, the place i rented had tons of issues, there was no hot water when we moved in because the heater had holes in it. Our heat went out in the winter and our AC went out in the summer. I found mold in 3 seperate rooms, and in the middle of the night about half of the roof of my bedroom just fell out. Do not rent from here they take zero care of their properties

My family rented a home with this company in 2018. We had nothing but positive experiences from the initial application process through the end of our time in the home. Maintenance requests were handled quickly. The staff was friendly. We needed to end our lease before the 12 months was up and they do not have a lease break option so I posted ads until I found someone who could take over the lease. It took a couple of months but someone came along and the transition was quick and easy. One of the best rental experiences I've had. No complaints.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!! The are not for the tenants that they rent to! Anytime I called for something to be fixed they said I had to pay for it & even still NOBODY EVER CAME TO FIX. Upon moving out I was charged for the items that needed repair while I was there! How does that WORK! When trying to get explanations of charges & A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING of what I'm paying & how they got there information cause mines is different I was told by "Antonia Cardona an employee" that "they were not going to baby me" ITS YOUR JOB TO EXPLAIN if I'm not understanding your "real estate layman terms" on my bill! Don't waste your time or money by dealing with this company!!!! RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Beware of property belonging to Rusty Grubbs. He's a slum landlord. First off their on Crisis Control blackballed list. So they will not help in any regard. They said that the rental company would take money and would put other families in the homes. They don't want to fix nothing and when they do they want to charge you. Yup to have a bathroom reculked they would charge. They are scam artists. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM PERIOD UNLESS U WANT A YEAR OF HELL!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!

This is the worst realty company that I have ever dealt with. I live in their Colonial Arms Apartments . I will move at the end of my contract.

Rented a house from these lieing thieves. I had a house full of mold told then numerous times about dry rotted floor. And no one did anything about it. I got told to bad just deal with it. I had to break my lease due to many health issues this place was causing along with many people that got sick that had come over. I have made many post on different social media networks to warn people about this corrupt place. They are out to steal your money.

I have never in my life experienced such rude and unprofessional folk! They're VERY disrespectful, they don't acknowledge your privacy and one of their workers came to my home and covered my security camera! Not only that, he was so rude to my children that they were frightened! Will NEVER rent from them again and most certainly would NEVER EVER recommend them to NOBODY!

Customer service is not good. You have to fill out an application and pay a fee and not get it back.

Leased commercial property through Home real Estate for 2 years. Initial impression was very bizarre, commercial property through a safety glass window? Was not a big deal... Very pleasant and easy experience to obtain the property, very clear and simple lease agreement, verbal offer of repairs and up fits were done timely , very helpful in every way. Would highly recommend.

You think with all these horrible reviews they would try to fix their problems... the biggest being their employees. But nope just terrible people trust the ratings people

Basically, the apartment I was living in fell apart. At one point the hallway ceiling fell and hit my husband and 9 month old. With urgency, I ask HR to fix this. Nothing, nothing at all happened. I had to personally go over and beg them to fix the ceiling and they didn't offer me anything for the fact that the ceiling fell and hit my family. There are many more things wrong with house and nothing has been fixed at all. I'm OUT!

Good cheap old housing. You get what you pay for. They have fixed every little problem that has arisen with this 104 year old house in west salem. Good for artists or creators or people who dont care too much about details. They play by the rules and expect the same of you. They just want the $$$, you're free to do what you want otherwise.

This company is very difficult to work with. Because I am polished and professional, eventually I can get them to be willing to address my needs and concerns. However, it should not take this much effort to get my rental company to be cooperative and complete the simplest requests. If I can avoid it, I will not rent from them ever again in the future. I rated a two instead of a one because they do not bother me or make any contact at all (We keep our rent paid on time) and I appreciate that. Other than that I would give them a one for poor customer service, concern, and condition of property. Side Note: I relocated to Winston Salem for a job and knew nothing about the area which is how we ended up viewing their properties. Make sure you view the house with the air conditioner off to determine if there is an infestation. I would even keep the key overnight and go back at night after the air has been off for a while. They keep the houses cold for a reason. (They almost got us but like I said I am a professional and know my rights.)
