Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa Review

The place was not all that amazing at all. First there were leaves in the pool,then at night it was so dark everywhere and it felt like if I was in a haunted movie and my room was next to the beach and I could not even access that part because of the yellow tape forbidding access.
But I have to say the food was quite good my favourite was the barbecue though the staff was not as charming as in other hotels and some of them could not speak french or english properly.

Let me start by saying this review is rated low because for the price the service is poor. Tasteless buffet, rude personnel. And i still can't get over fact that we are on a beautiful island dinning in a hotel that is spread out over a good distance. But yo i can't wear shorts to the open buffet but i see some uncle with his pyjamas and flip flops and that's totally fine. So funny how little sense that makes.

A luxury hotel with a view to the sea, beach so nice, serviced very well, wonderful breakfast, but dinner are a bit casual as the food was not expected for this kind of Hotel

Nice hotel, positioned on the beach front with great facilities including a spa with gym, sauna and steam room. Great pools, one quieter one, and one designed more with children in mind. Tennis courts and a kids zone available. Rooms are nice, what you would expect from a Hilton. Things are getting a little dated however and starting to show their age. Large comfortable beds & daily housekeeping and turn down service. Mini bar in our room never had power so no cold drinks available. Quite a confusing light switch set-up in the room that we still hadn't really got the hang of after a week! Good size balcony at the front of the room overlooking the pool and sea. The hotel is located at what I would describe as the quieter end of Flic en Flac beach, with the main strip about 1km up the road. Many taxis always waiting outside the hotel however we hired our own car so no need for the taxi service. Staff were brilliant. Always polite and would do anything to help. October is outside of peak season and as such, a lot of the local shops and restaurants are very quiet/closed. There was certainly more life to the north of the island and also better weather (whether always the case of better weather or not I am not sure but it was the case for the week we were here). All 3 restaurants at the hotel were very nice. Good buffet at breakfast catering to all tastes, and the Thai and Gormet restaurants in the evening serving up very tasty food. In summary a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, but a few elements could do with a little modernisation to keep up with the times.

Stunning hotel in a stunning location. Room service prices and quality is below standard. Staff are mostly very professional and good at their job.

We stayed at the Hilton for one week and I must say and I am disappointed. Its not really a 5 Star hotel.

Let me start with what I liked:
- Very nice spot on the beach
- Great plants in the garden and layout
- Service was quite good and the people were friendly
- Water sport offering was good

What was not good?
- Food was really under average more like a 3 Star hotel.
- Pineapples grow in Mauritius and you would think a 5 star hotel offers great fresh juices. Not the case. We ate and drank pineapples a couple of times. They are tastless. Not sure who is responsible for buying pineapples at the hotel but that person is not doing great.
- Poor wifi connection in the room.
- In general very crowed at the beach (compared to other 5 star hotels). People lying all next to each other like sardines.

The Hilton hotel is nice.
It is very close to the beach. The restaurant is very good, though a bit expensive in comparison with the rest Mauritian restaurant.
The rooms are nice and clean.
However I'm not sure that having a window inside the bathroom (right in front of the toilets) is the best idea, eventhough you can close it.
The resort offers a lot of activities.
If you want to visit the island, expect to take a taxi as the city in not close to interesting places.

Excellent facilities and location but the service is very sloppy. Be prepared to wait a long time for service if at all - we ordered a burger on our first day and a club sandwich: I got the burger after 30 mins or so - and over an hour later, the burger finally came! No one will proactively come to you to take your order - you need to keep on calling the waiters or getting up to get the menus and drinks for yourself - and then they may come!

There is no follow up here - unprofessional to say the least. You ask for one thing and have to keep on reminding them else it just will not happen. The night before we left we got an envelope with a note and the bill to review and they forgot to put the bill in the envelope!

Very sloppy service for a Hilton generally and one at this price!

The place is good. There is however no water hose in the toilet to clean ourselves. This is an important feature to have.

The hotel was great! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The area and the beach were always clean. The shows in the hotel were very nice. Special thanks to mavin (taxi driver) who gave us great tips and we had nice trips. And to visham who was super friendly and helpful. Would spend our honeymoon there again.

Absolutely beautiful setting, boutique touch to Hilton standards. The stay was amazing.

Personal ghosts, room to renovate (very very viellote), no information on activities and even less services on our arrival. Home not top ....
In the rooms (suite): no plug in the bathrooms, broken shutters, ...
The beach towels are to be recovered at 100m with a card system not practical ...
Swimmers rub shoulders with boats ....
The breakfasts are not bad.
To avoid ...

Great hotel with great food. Nice beach with decent snorkel conditions and good pools. Definitely a good room at an ok price ..... Nice room with good bed and large bathroom, shower and bath.

You can't go wrong in going to hilton in couple or with large family, great place for holidays

Exceptional interior decor and very charming staffs and helpful as well. Check in/ out process are smooth. Hotel quite big, a lot to visit around and great food served. Activities such as kayak, pedals and so much more can also be done there.

Staff are wonderful and hotel facilities are as you would dream. 5 stars!!

A 5 star hotel on the west coast of Mauritius. It has all the facilities of its category including 2 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, beach spa. During our stay we had only buffet dinner and breakfast brunch which were of good quality and so More

We stayed there 5 nights with half board so we got breakfast and dinner every night (buffet). There are 2 pools, one for families and one adults only. Plenty of activities including water activities most free. The room was clean and we had a view of the beach, one of the pools and sunsets. We also got a free welcome massage in the Spa.

Very beautiful resort. Good food at the restaurants. Free activities like glass bottom boat trips and dolphin spoting.

They Don t respect privacy and Don t Appreciate Their customers. The Beach and swimming pool is almost public all locals enter it because they know the workers, my booking is including Breakfast and Dinner it s the worst food. Swimming pool is very Dirty. I don t recommend this resort for any friend or enemy. Last No value of money to Book here.

Good hotel. Thought there is a difference between the service provided to locals and tourists...

Very nice hotel, attentive staff in all sectors and a Thai restaurant .... To die for! Ideally to enjoy the sunset from the terraces of the rooms, 2 beautiful pools, a lush garden, in short a paradise in all areas

I forgot to tell you about my opinion on the hotel of my great disappointment of Marie de Kreola to whom I asked for a service to modify a plane timetable and who was totally disinterested It is mainly focused on excursions and commissions of these C is really a shame

Luckily the weather was impeccable throughout the duration of our stay. Great staff, relaxed atmosphere.

We had gone there once and were really satisfied of our journey..the rooms were very nice and staff helpful.!the food was tasty and variety was offered! Facilities and trips are organised.

We have just returned from this Hilton the setting is beautiful the room is a bit run down for a 5 star nice staff but no special atmosphere good for a couple who wants the quiet lack of experience from the hosts and for the cocktails without taste and alcohol I asked for vodka it filled me the glass and always the taste of water and all coktails confused to tell you .... Conclusion it is expensive to sleep there and more to live in drinks included water should have only 3 stars

Had a dinner at hilton hotel and was really good... food is excellent and staff are very welcoming and caring... the hotel is really beatiful..
As annimation there was a band playing ..they were great too.. coming again for sure

The hotel is beautiful and has a wonderful sea view. Available with free footing for guests, great experience and three restaurants, Thai, Italian and International. The rooms are renovated in modern style and have a Mediterranean style. It has two outdoor swimming pools, one swimming pool for adults and one swimming pool for children with Jacuzzi, but the water is not heated. The hotel does not have an espresso coffee machine, they provide kettle, Shahi bags, low quality coffee, good service and helpful staff. Going down for breakfast is advisable A breakfast request is served from the main reception because it is cheaper to go for breakfast and register the account on the room

The stay was nice and warm. The guys working there were welcoming. During our stay we had buffet with large variety. However the amenities itself need some upgrades

Beautiful venue the personnel is smiling, they really seem to care about customer's experience. What I enjoyed most was the Gong upon arrival.

Went for a conference of 2 days and gala dinner organised by Albert Trading and Makita Gulf. Very well organised, good food, nice location and professional team. Thanks to all for this wonderful moment and experiences

Room a bit shabby but very good beds. Cleanliness could be improved.
Staff very friendly and the food is excellent.
Towels are always changed, even if you explicitly ask not to do so.
Attention: Shuttle is not a shuttle. All you have to do is order a taxi and that above the usual prices. And the taxi can't have anything to do with 5 stars. Likewise, rental cars, etc. Simply order yourself.
Adults only pool is not guaranteed.
Special requests such as a quiet room are ignored. Smoking allowed on the balcony - our room smelled accordingly from our neighbors.

Very good hotel, beautiful and quiet setting. We were very well received for our honeymoon (2 cocktails, Rum, Pareo, T-shirt and ) All the employees are attentive, very polite and smiling. We eat very well and the food is top notch. Evening room service is a great idea and we wanted for nothing. The sunset is magical from the second pool, really postcard. There is also a lot of water activity and we loved the standup paddle boarding.
I take away a star because of chargeable drinks and not included in full board! I think considering the cost of the stay and the rooms they can provide water and soft drinks included in full board. We were disappointed by this and the drinks are very expensive (a cappuccino is 7euro !!)
Otherwise we had the best vacation ever.

The weather and place are fantastic even in winter. (Heated swimming pool overlooking the lagoon) The staff is extremely kind. Little more, bread and croissants "homemade" as in Paris. I recommend
