Rather poor reception, long wait at the counter to be registered. When arriving at the hotel they could not find our reservation ... in the room, only one copy of soap for a couple, no mini bar, no bottle of water, no bathrobe, no slippers. Water is only available to customers with the Hilton Card. To borrow an umbrella, you are asked for a guarantee of 20 pounds for EACH umbrella. Unpleasant, unfriendly staff. Took multiple credit card transactions to pay for 3 different rooms for the same family, doesn't offer an invoice. History problem in the computer (they look for customers and their purchases (breakfast, drinks at the bar ...). There were 7 of us, we are very disappointed. There is only Hilton in name. .

Great location

Great location

This place could do with a revamp perhaps, stuck in an attempt at grandeur but too many business people to make the grade.

Whilst the exterior screams seaside resort the inside attempts to make the most of a different time, as with many of these places they are filled with tiny rooms and narrow dark corridors.

The room whilst spacious needed a deep clean and a pick of paint and the bathroom was much the same. The heating was noisy and the only way to keep the room comfortable was to leave it running constantly.

Breakfast included with our room was excellent, the choice and the service I could not fault. The food hot and cooked to order if required.

The staff in general were friendly and well informed for questions, the check-in quick and painless and the checkout the same.

Forced out of my original Travelodge due to no power l was reluctantly ( ) rehoused for the night here. Excellent in every regard, in terms of the place, the facilities and the staff. Wish l could afford to stay here every time l come to Brighton.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in one of those crappy Travel Lodge Hotels by the motorway services.

- Dated and very small rooms (view to a solid brick wall 5 feet from our window)
- Smallest bed I've ever seen in a Hotel, not even a double bed
- "Free" wifi that doesn't work
- Took over 30 minutes to bring up a blanket and wine glass (glasses never arrived)
- Wedding guests fist fighting in the street outside the hotel covered in blood (police not even called)
- Wedding music blaring all evening and late into the night [currently 23:30 and still going, even getting louder], so loud it sounded as though it was being piped directly into our room (horrible rave music with a fast loud beat)

It's a beautiful building, in a perfect location - it is such a shame that the whole experience has been ruined by the above issues.

We are very upset that we wasted our time and money on this trip to stay in a tired room, in a tiny bed, with loud rave music blaring through the walls. What a waste of time - Shame on you Hilton.

Very nice inside, big rooms. Lovely night's sleep , comfy beds. Not very good at catering to lactose intolerance with there afternoon tea, even though they offered to do so. (Some food had regular cheese in it!)

Went for 1 night between Xmas and New year, nice hotel, good location for our visit, room good size, unfortunately there were air-conditioning units outside the room which came on at night very noisy, which they knew about but did not tell us on booking in so my wife were given earplugs which did not help much resulting in a disturbed sleep, breakfast was was terrible, understaffed, tables not cleared long waits cooked items, we did complain and send an email, which to their credit responded to resulting in a free stay in any Hilton, but doesn't compensate for spoiling the trip.

The positives are that it is right on the see front with it's own underground parking and It's been modernised in recent years. However, it's already looking shabby. Some staff were great others not so. If you need to be on the front and park it's cheeper than many close by options and is OK to lay your head down and get out and about.

I've stayed at many Hiltons overthe years and found this to be one of the poorest I've stayed at. The entire experience was ruined by really poor service from the check in desk. There was a mix up with payment by my corporate account, which I accept was not the fault of the hotel but the way they dealt with it was awful. My account team phoned up and made the payment but the girl in reception blatantly lied and said they advised her I had to pay myself. Overall they were very poor. The hotel itself is ok, nothing special and there are many better places to stay in Brighton with better customer service and offering better value.

Great location. Right on the beach. Generally a good hotel. Decent breakfast with nice views. Complicated room and charging process. A queen room is not a queen room basically. Decor is a little tired with some carpets having duct tape on them in the corridors. Staff are good. Decent pool and fitness facility. Parking is tight but onsite.

The hotel is old and in need of redecoration. i stayed at the Grand in March and it is a much more superior hotel to this one. So basic yet the same price as the Grand. I also booked into the spa for a facial. The toilets are stained there is dirt and dust in lifts and on surfaces. I would not recommend this Hotel and also thr prices of drinks do not go with the poor decor and furnishings

Popped in for a drink in the very grand bar - too many trainee bar and waiting staff so very chaotic. Admittedly it was a warm day but management need to staff this right - people were walking out as it was taking so long to get served.

I only attended briefly to help set up an exhibition stand. The hotel is in a great location right on the seafront. Inside the hotel is a bit of a maze, but there are plenty of signs. The room where the event was being held was nice and airy, but the carpet could do with a deep clean as it had a lot of stains in it.

We were given a room on the 6th floor, we soon found out the lifts were broken so had to walk up 6 flights of stairs with our luggage to get to the room. We were not made aware of this beforehand or offered any help.
We get to our small room to find it s like a sauna, the window opens 4 inches and there is no air con.
The bed is ridiculously squeaky with any slight movement.
Really not impressed and wishing I hadn t spent the money. It s the most I ve ever spent on a hotel night and I certainly won t be doing it again,

Terrible , .Cold room with no heater , wet carpet , swimming pool closed
Hair all over the bathroom , and somebody had been smoking in the room , would never go again . It's a rip off for the price they charge .

An overall good experience, I stayed in a King suite with seaview. It was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. Also the pool was a nice temperature. And the staff were very helpful.

The Hilton Brighton is one best hotels I been in. Such friendly helpful staff always cater to your needs. Rooms are so lovely, bright & Airy. Windows are safe for children as don t open fare but that s just one downside if you need windows open fully so feeling air or shut in not good for that. Would highly recommend to all & even pets welcome and they give you pet beds. Also in this weird COVID world at moment. I felt so safe all staff where mask & you don t have too & 2 meter rule is always maintained with cleaning done at all times. Brilliantly managed xx

We had our wedding here after choosing it out of the three nearby seafront hotels. The pre-wedding organisation was satisfactory, although there seemed to be different people being in charge of it over a year and a half period.

The day before the wedding we arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff were clueless about what a wedding even was, like it was an alien word or something. They got rooms wrong i.e. sister in law's family room was a shoe cupboard in terms of size and what we asked for and needed. Moreover, I was on the same floor as the bride too, after we specifically requested not to be!

Anyhow on the day, the bride was 5 minutes away only to notice that there were not enough chairs for the guests! You'd think they over not under supply, after all they knew of numbers!!!! They frantically got some from the other room but obviously they didn't have the coverings we paid for and wanted.

Other problems included the fire alarm going off during the wedding breakfast - they were apologetic about it and we accepted that this was outside of their control as some squirts in the car park had set it off. We did get a fair few free drinks because of it and it turned out to be a fantastic photo op - with all of us standing at the front. With it being a glorious day I don't think anyone minded and new meals were offered on arrival back to the room.

Anyhow the evening went well although there did not seem to be anyone around despite they saying that there will be someone on hand. I had to ask in the general hotel restaurant when the evening buffet didn't turn up at the time stated.

Whilst we had a good wedding and it was the best day of my life, it could have been A LOT smoother and hassle free. Having only married once - thank god! - I hope this level of 'paid for' unorganisation is not normal facet of a wedding.

Other notable elements, many of the rooms look tired with ad-hoc furniture. Whilst we had a suite, it was not plush by my standards.

Hilton need to improve. Plus sides - the food was excellent and the lady from another company dressed the room exquisitely - well worth the money we paid for it. My rating is whisker short of 2 stars. 2.5 stars would be more accurate.

Nice hotel.

Nice hotel.
We had a recently refurbished room so was bright and clean. Very hot room even in February so if there is air conditioning it doesn't work.
Breakfast was good.
Great location.
Would stay here again.

Avoid avoid avoid !!! Dirty low standards and dated I understand that this is a very old hotel but it is advertised as bring 4 & so it would be reasonable to expect 4 stars quality. swimming pool was filthy and the room; although we were upgraded was filthy I was so upset totally ruined valentines weekend that I had been so looking forward too. Debris on carpet including someone s medication! Filthy toilet, broken bath tiles..... I can t believe this can be the usual Hilton standard????

Sick

Great to be back at The Met.. Things are a lot different with reception moved towards grand staircase. Not quite ready to reopen pool and gym area for another few weeks. As ever..great socially distanced self service breakfast. Very pleasant staff.

We booked this hotel as it was the cheapest in the area for a 1 night stay. It was a nice hotel, fantastic breakfast and the room was decorated in a nice modern style. The rest of the hotel was quite old-school regal looking but the kind that looked like it could do with an update.
Staff were all very formal and polite.

Great room. Very comfy bed & pillows. Had sea view & balcony. Very clean. Attended a conference. Some catering issues on first night & lunchtime, but redeemed with excellent breakfasts & dinner. Conference facilities were first-rate and staff very helpful, polite and cheery. Thank you.

This is called Brighton's England and the UK's on the day of the city of Brighton. There is also the city center. Right by the beach and overlooking the sea. Unless your room is in the back. We are accustomed to the five-star hotels in Antalya, such as Antalya, although this is a five-star Hilton hotel, do not look for us luxury. But ultimately you can trust Hilton and blindfold. Don't miss out on good prices

Not as great as I was expecting. Negatives first. No mini fridge in room, old TV when an HD one should be supplied, balcony needs repainting and my double room is due for refurbishing. Looks 90's. Was told by someone that Hilton are not prepared to invest money into Metropole as their contract might not be renewed in 2020. Plus points. Great breakfast in an impressive dining room. All buffet, so stuff yourself silly! Continental, full English, cereals, the lot. Very comfy super King bed. Four pillows wide. Dogs loved it too. Wouldn't stay here again tho.
