We came here for drinks after eating at Patty and Bun on Ship Street (which was great) - At first we thought we had to order at the bar but after flagging down a waiter we realised it was in fact table service. This continued and we had to wave to get the attention of the six members of staff to order drinks and bar snacks 4-5 times. The staff are friendly and pleasant but they were far from attentive.

Stunning hotel but unfortunately I didn't get to try the food, cocktails or lay in a bed. Heard it's all 5* so maybe one day I can comment on the luxury side as I was there to see the BFF CHAMPIONSHIPS and to support my little brother. He's in the baby pink shorts.

Older hotel that needs upgrading. Terrible room for 1st night. Then got upgraded to sea front king superior (as HH Diamond member), very roomy but still needs upgrading. Ask for their renovated rooms.

The hotel decor is spectacular. The rooms are ok in size and clean. The dining room is spacious, clean, and friendly staff. The cons were I rarely got Internet to connect and my room had no air conditioning. Just 2 windows and a fan. The bed was very hard and I like them softer.

Lovely old building on Brighton seafront. Staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good with a large buffet selections. Single Room on first floor (no sea view) was unfortunately very hot with no aircon, window opened only a crack and was very noisy with plant outside. On a cooler evening this would not have mattered. Bathroom was enormous with disabled shower and bath.

Excellent wedding venue, everything perfectly timed and organised. High tea was wonderful, and the petit fours to die for. It's quite pricey though, as you'd expect and the car park is extremely tight for anything larger than a shopping cart/Fiat 500.

This hotel is totally overpriced! The public areas are fine and the staff are great but.... we had a double sea view room, the bed was big and comfortable but the general furnishings are in need of a total refurbishment, the bathroom fittings had covers missing which resulted in them looking ugly, the soap dish was broken. Water is charged for and no biscuits on tea tray. The breakfast is again really overpriced, at first sight looks good, the plates were cold, the beans and bacon disgusting, the sliced bread is cheap and just went soggy when toasted. . Mushrooms, tinned not fresh, and the tomatoes both had pepper on, not everyone likes pepper and may be added at your table if required. The tables are too close together.
I cannot see how this hotel has a four star rating.
I would not recommend this hotel and will never stay there again!

With multiple conference talks held in different function rooms, the hotel did a good job of supplying directions to different rooms. Facilities were excellent and provided a lot of excellent spaces for the different booths and talks.

Stayed here a few times even though I live locally. Had been refurbished since I stayed, but visit frequently and recently took visiting family to the 'Jack and the Beanstalk' Christmas panto show here. I've got to say the show exceeded our expectations and hope they raise lots of money for the associated charities!!!

Not good stayed a couple of days. First room heating stuck on high, shower dripping etc etc. Second room in main room sitting area one light no dress mirror had to ask for one no table lights no tv control first and second one did not work properly none of rooms we had had even a bottle of water or slippers taking in to account this states it a 4star personal i would rate 2-3 star not quality better of in travel lodge. Stopped with friends much the same story from them. Will never stop Hilton hotels again.

I often stay in the city on business but I haven't stayed at Hilton before. The hotel is great and has it's own parking which is a big plus as the city is crawled with crazy drivers. Staff is really friendly and the beach is 2-3 minutes away, so yes you have an amazing beach view!

Excellent hotel at a great location. But this hotel had a serious problem. It's quite old. And the wifi connection sucks. My room has practically no connection. But the minute I walk outside of my room I have full connectivity. And they're are many place like that in the hotel. Very spotty Wi-Fi that is pretty slow.

I travel very frequently and am a Hilton HHonors Platinum member. I stay in hotels all over the place and very rarely ever complain. I'm accustomed to UK and European hotels having differences over American properties and comfortable with those differences. That being said, the Hilton Brighton Metropole, which bills itself as a five-star property is by the far the worst hotel I've stayed in in years, and this includes the occasional roadside style motel I have to stay in for business travel in out of the way places.

Upon check in, we were not greeted or helped with our bags. The room looks drab and dreary and the decor obviously hasn't been upgraded since the 1970's. The mini fridge was broken. The safe in the room faces the wrong way. The concierge seems to be overall absent entirely. Calling the front desk, the phone only gets answered every so often and you have to let it ring continously to get a response.

We were staying for 5 days and on one of those days, we went to visit relatives so didn't return until late the next day. Upon our return, we found that the previous day's breakfast dishes and cups hadn't been removed from our room and were stinking. None of the counter tops had been wiped off and other than the bed being made, it really looked like the room hadn't been cleaned whatsoever in two days.

I called the front desk and was informed housekeeping would be up. No apology, nothing. When housekeeping came up, they were very snippy and appeared to be inconvenienced by our request to properly clean the room and only did so with attitude.

Overall, I can't say how entirely disappointed and disgusted I am with this property. I stay in 5 star hotels and pay 5 star prices because I expect 5 star service. I'm more than understanding and reasonable about normal issues and short-comings, but this hotel is absolutely terrible. Please be VERY wary before you book a stay here.

Absolutely loved it. Been there 3 years on the trot now same time every year, lovely hotel very grand old style, the service is outstanding. Every member of staff will go out of their way to help you. Rooms we're very spacious, clean, tidy huge bathroom big screen tv, free newspaper delivered in morning. Breakfast buffet is infinite with the amount of stuff they offer. From cold meats and fish to cooked. Fresh fruits, chef preparing your eggs the way you like. gorgeous sea views. Couldn't ask for any more in a place to stay.

Went to Schmoo at Hilton Brighton Metropole for two 25 minute treatments and they were brilliant. If you are looking for the full 'spa' experience as in robes and lots of various steam/sauna rooms with pools and Jacuzzis etc this us not it. More

I'm not a guest but here for a conference. The hotel is lovely and has a lot of charm. The staff are all very pleasant though they do seem a bit uninformed sometimes. The Tea table was without hot water for a couple hours. Everhthing was kept quite clean. Would definitely look forward to the event being here next year.

Rooms were fantastic, swimming pool great the only problem we had was the service in the bar. Very slow and not the friendliest staff in the bar but apart from that can't fault any of the other staff in the hotel.

The night concierge was fantastic and extremely helpful. The room was clean and tidy and well worth it. Shame we didn't have time to use the gym or the spa which is free to use as guests.

Whilst the staff were professional, the pool was nice and food was OK, the rest of the experience was seriously lacking compared to what you would expect for the brand / price. The rooms are very small and only a few are about conditioned (we were in a group). They are very dated (as is the me hotel) and seem to lack even basic amenities like a fridge. The parking is awkward and quite expensive. Would not recommend.
