Pool area and changing rooms were horrendous. Small pool, over crowded. Everything is very old. Definitely not coming back.

Excellent service staff very friendly, breakfast good variety, bedrooms clean, bed comfortable, would stay again
Ok, nothing special, room compact, poor air conditioning, stifling, small fridge would have been handy.
Excellent family room. Could do with the ability to change the temperature in the room. Having more then one person on the front desk on a Saturday evening would've been most helpful.
I booked this for one night as luxury stay. I never stayed in worst hotel in my life.. room was small and dated extremely hot in room, if you are woman who wants to Blowdry hair or put a make up on, its impossible because is so hot you dripping of swet, staff wasn't professional.
I asked for upgrade for sea wievs, didn't care how much it would cost. Receptionist could offer me nothing. Hotel wasn't busy .
Very very disappointing
Hotel is OK. Bed rather big but all felt a bit dated in the rooms. Must be the old building. Very quiet at night. Breakfast was enough choice and during the week the hotel is crowded by business people.
I booked non smoking sea view suite for me and my fiance to stay. We were hoping for a comfortable room, nice view, room service and sanitary conditions.
Within an hour of arriving, housekeeping barged into our room without knocking disrupting our privacy. Luckily we heard them and were able to scream for them to immediately leave before entering any further into the room. Shortly afterwards, we found long dark hairs in the bath that didn't belong to us. By this point, we had already decided to ask for a refund and leave the hotel immediately. The staff were helpful when I explained that we no longer felt comfortable in the room and we wanted our money refunded, but they made little effort to make amends for the disruption. The experience ruined our entire trip. So much so that we decided to cut our losses and just go home. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that our experience at this hotel ruined our entire weekend away.
Other notes worth mentioning:
-We couldn't check in until after 4pm,
-We stayed in a non smoking suite and the entire floor we stayed on stank of cigarette smoke.
Excellent hotel...staff extremely helpful and made the stay really good.
Breakfast Very good also lunchtime snacks and sandwiches
I was given a treatment at their spa room for my wedding present. Their spa has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It was impossible to get through to them, once I did they didn t take my details correctly. I have lost my More
Me and my boyfriend were expecting one of the rooms featured in the pictures instead the room we were appointed was very outdated we were utterly disappointed. Although the pool was lovely and as was my massage.
Nice hotel with clean and modern rooms. My only gripe is that my room is very small!
Great location and nice sized room. Pet friendly doesn't do it for me
I stayed here a few years back and was very pleased with the room. The location is spot on and I recently made a few enquiries about another visit. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. I'll be making plans for this summer.
Great location great Staff always stay there when in Brighton.
Nice hotel with pleasant, professional staff. However, the room decor was somewhat dated and the bathroom could have done with improvement. I would stay again.
Attended an event at the hotel. It was a good space with friendly staff. Also close to the station and attractions in Brighton. Very good venue.
Breakfast and dinner were good (buffet)
The hotel is very old and carpeted. Bathroom newly renovated.
OK for 1-2 nights.
Comfortable rooms with usual Hilton excellent breakfast. Been for a conference and very good facilities. Bit of a maze as expected from possible multiple buildings converted into a single hotel.
Try as I may, I can't fault this hotel. Room and bed extremely comfy and quiet. Bathroom well appointed and spotlessly clean. Superb breakfast with enough choice to keep anybody happy. Swimming pool a good size and very clean, jacuzzi nice, sauna and steam room good too. Staff very polite and welcoming. Highly recommended. Quick edit, our room had aircon...from reading reviews it appears some don't. Still a great hotel!
Nice place to stay if you have a good room. Makes the world of difference to your stay if you have Rooms with a view.
A highly disappointing visit to the hilton. Upon arrival we were advised that due to maintenance issues we were unable to stay at the hilton that night. They knew that mornong but decided not telling us until arrival was suitable. Despite being due at an event that night at the hilton in 15 minutes the best they could offer was a gym cubicle to change in or a taxi to a nearby hotel to check in and get ready. Luckily a colleague allowed us to get ready in their room. Towards the end of the evening it was even more disappointing to be shown a text message to another colleague with details of our alternative check in arrangements. Fantastic. The hotel we were moved to was no where near hilton calibre and ultimately the actions of the hilton made for a very disappointing evening. Would not recommend booking this hotel if you want to actual stay there.
Great hotel, amazing customer service, i would put 5* if there was ac in the hotel :D
Lovely staff, great room, clean and well run establishment. Alex front of house special mention for excellent customer service.
Room was fine, but a family room was very cramped. Also, the afternoon tea left a lot to be desired for. The service was horrendous. Took 4 attempts to get our order right. Apart from that a very decent stay.
Nice place , looks vintage , car park busy and expensive.

We enjoyed our stay. The food and hospitality was excellent. The room was clean and there are some super facilities. Highly recommend !!
Great hotel and we usually award 5 stars but they haven't yet got breakfast right during social distancing. We booked 9 am slots but on one of our 3 days had to give up and eat elsewhere due to a long queue to be seated and a long queue to get food.
Friendly staff and some parts of the hotel are nice but the room was a bit shabby and the lack of air conditioning meant it was far too warm in the room.
Wonderful view and comfy bed.
Staff is lovely and happy helping, even when its super busy on Sunday morning, as everyone is leaving the hotel at the same time.
Good breakfast with wonderful vegetarian option.
Very outdated and nasty bedrooms. Me and my friends booked two King size bedrooms as for that we were atleast expecting a bit more than we've got. We've stayed at summer time, the a/c wasn't working well so we thought maybe opening windows would help out but unfortunately it didn't cause they were wooden, old and broken so we were unable to open them. Rooms were extremely dirty and dusty. Even just walking in to the main lobby to check in you could feel an eerie smell coming from the pool. The only good thing about this place was the area it's in (right across the beach). Defenitely the worst Hilton hotel I've ever been to and trust me I've been to a lot!
Pretty much what I'd expect. WiFi only free if you sign up to their loyalty program, not good.
Thank you so much for everything. Hotel very well, but the best treatment of workers, especially Rachel, helped us in everything we need
Accommodated our needs well, in spite of the busyness of the hotel.
Stayed here few times for team meetings. Front of house friendly. This time my room was tiny, crazy hot and when I opened the window the noise from an exhaust duct kept me awake. But that organised a room change and my next few night were much nicer.
1810 restaurant has nice staff but the food is bland so are out.
Fantastic place and great service from a fantastic team.
well done Hilton hotel x
Booked a spa day for a friend and went along too. Could not fault the friendliness of the girls in the spa, however the lunch was appalling , and the service in the restaurant was even worse. Lunch took 2 hours and took up most of the time. More
Superb location. Friendly and service-minded staff. Nice rooms. Tasty breakfast.
Lovely hotel in a great location on the sea front. Clean rooms and a hearty breakfast in a huge dining room! Only marred by the constant drone by the 24 air con fans from the building next door.
Could not believe they have a magnificent restaurant but only serve breakfast.
I was kindly upgraded rooms, really nice and big. Very quiet and the breakfast was beautiful. The swimming pool was great as well. The staff are incredibly helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Especially the gentleman who was on in the evening who checked us in at 03.30 in the morning and helped us unload all of the equipment we had for the workshop we were setting up the next day. Brilliant service. My only gripe is that the food in the restaurant took a long time when ordering in the evening, but was very tasty. It's just a shame as I was on a short time schedule as I was having to run a workshop later in the evening.
Great hotel right on the sea front. Really enjoyable new years eve event
It is a great hotel for the area and would have given it 5 stars but the air conditioning never seems to work when I have stayed at this hotel. There also is not a way to change the temperature in the room which is a big issue when it is hot. They do provide you with a fan but does not really do much. The rooms are a decent size for the area and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurant, bar and breakfast buffet are all awesome and would definitely recomend the hotel.
Urgent renovation, who the Hilton Hotel is used to the expected a different standard. For details I give up at the point, because I'm sure the management knows the problems. Therefore only two stars
We had a fantastic time during out stay at the Hilton in Brighton. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us, right on the waterfront. Our double room was very large and quiet. We would definitely stay again.
Very expensive to park here. But the hotel seemed lovely inside. Wasn't a resident, was photographing a corporate event.
High class hotel, gym suite is basic but spa facilities are good.
Not the Hilton Brand I was Expecting. Very Small Room Size. Practically no View for None Sea Facing Rooms.
Super breakfast,
wonderful place
was booked into a small double room 1st floor sea view with wall paper falling off a very narrow bath with an old fashioned shower curtain that sticks to you when you try to shower as you have to duck down under the shower if you 6' or above . The bed is the biggest nightmare the mattress is a spring job all of which are buckled and have no give so the back is very sore in the morning . On the way down the stairs in the morning to tell reception to find me a new room or I am off home I noticed how dirty the place was , net curtains were black the lamps full of dust carpets badly need a shampoo
( I had to ask myself I did book into the Hilton maybe I should look at the name on the front again )
As I was looking at the very dated reception and the wall paper patches that cover the tears and listen to my wife complain as she had got this for a birthday treat for me I realised that this is no longer the Hilton of old . Was given a new room bigger bed , they even gave it two covers as they new it had the same type of mattress , yep very sore back in the morning and you guess it we are never going back , as in to any Hiltons as they really suck . Even premier inn and travel lodge have memory foam beds , the person in charge of the purchase of beds or referb is either on a big back hander or an idiot . This is no longer a family chain who used to care this is just about what they can get out of you without putting to much into it . Who ever is in charge of the star system have a look at how many I have given it , oh one more point please please make sure you have something on your feet in the changing room area at the swimming pool
beautiful hotel, great views of the beach, very friendly and helpful staff
Great bedroom (314). Great staff but ridiculous queue for breakfast. Puts me off from staying there again. Sorry Hilton but 160 seats for breakfast and 320 rooms means the queue remains....
Hotel was good, although on reflection was a little over priced. Breakfast was great - everything you could want and lots of it! Bedroom and bathroom were large and clean. Having spent so much on the hotel I was disapointed to be changed More
A beach front hotel, it's huge and with Hilton you know what you'll get.
It's a rabbit warren! Disabled access routes through less attractive areas. Directional signage limited
My husband and I splashed out on a night away. The bed was the worst either of us has ever tried to sleep on, it had very noisy springs, but was as hard as a rock. The pillows didn't help either, as they gave no support at all. My husband had to ask for extra pillows in the middle of the night, which we used to try to sleep on, as the bed was so hard. The shower head only showered the wall, so had to be hand-held when using. Also the sink around the plug area was filthy. Neither of us will be going there again, and would not recommend it to anyone who values their sleep. It completely ruined our time away.
Really bad experience with it, for price I paid it was really bad. Air conditioning system was not working in room and they refuse change room or find alternative for it.
Wonderful location, reasonably priced underground car park, lovely staff and beautiful lobby, but rooms were absolutely boiling hot with no air con, shower was like a hosepipe, plugs didn't work in the room and wardrobe and drawers were broken and hanging off, lots of paint missing from walls in bathroom. Breakfast was good though!
Great service, fair price, good breakfast and location but rooms very hot
It is a well mapped out hotel with many perks such as being next to the sea
Beautiful hotel. Staff were a little unprofessional at times. They gave out different information. Pool areas were outdated. Lovely pool. Breakfast was excellent, enough variety and good coffee. Room was beautiful but really hot on the 6th floor. We had 3 fans in 1 room! Iron and table in room, was very helpful.
Excellent staff, bar and breakfast. Let down by the room which smelt of sewage. The safe didn't work, no aircon, Windows open 2 inches max, no complimentary water in room, no cold water coming from taps (both hot). Was offered a new room, which declined as it was late and partner not up to moving. Given a fan, water and ice. Subsequently at checkout, we received a 20% discount. Everything else about the hotel is excellent, must have been unlucky with room.
"Well, it's not The Hilton... Wait."
Honestly, I was really disappointed in the staff service, the room, and most of all the broken stuff in my room. Good breakfast and location though! I would expect this sort of faded glory from a 1960s Motel 6 but not a Hilton.
Where to start?
-The screen on the thermostat was shattered so there's no way to see what it reads, but no combination of pushing the four buttons seemed to make it possible to make the room cool enough to sleep in.
-One of the two windows was broken such that you couldn't keep it open and the striping was falling off. Opening the other did not get the room to a tolerable temperature.
-The bathroom light didn't work at all
-The giant mattress was actually two, stiff, uncomfortable, squeaky small mattresses held together, but one was a full inch taller than the other making sleeping in the middle obviously uncomfortable
-The maids hadn't cleaned the window ledge, sills, or 2ft. bathroom window 'shelf' in a very long time
-The guy at the door to the bar the previous night was rude, stopping me from entering to meet my colleagues because of a private event. I mentioned I was there for the event and simply needed to talk with my colleagues on the terrace for a moment. No good, no entry, "This room is booked from 5:30 - 11:00" (or some such). "Wait, it's 5:23, so I'll be going in then," I replied, sick of his obstructionism when he simply could have offered to take them a message or something. "Seven minutes, I'll be watching," the man replies. Two minutes later I'm done what I needed to say and walk out. Of course, I have full access to the private event that's starts in seven minutes as well. Nice work dude.
-The front desk was disinterested in hearing about any problems with the room when I mentioned someone should look into fixing issues, simply saying "Wait here." and walking off without further explanation. The Customer Satisfaction Specialist (or whatever he was called) was more polite when he arrived five minutes later, and actually wrote down the broken items in the room. He offered a breakfast voucher, though that was of no use given I already had one. All in all, that needlessly wasted my time as well.
Mediocre food and service. Poor choice of music for an Xmas party and extortionate drinks .
No AC so avoid of over 75. Not a great Hilton property. Nice staff and great breakfast bar. Dont seem to be a lot of choices in Brighton. Great historic charm.
Nice clean hotel. Noisey though, but it is right in the middle of town. Average food. Clean room. Good shower. Comfy bed. Friendly staff.
Friendly and helpful staff. It was a bit run down however, we stayed in room 424 which over looked air con units that were on 24 hours a day and were very loud.
Our thermostate was broken so we couldn't control the temperature in the room.
We complained and got free parking which was good.
Great location though.
