Very nice hotel near the beach. The cheap rooms are below standard typically expected from Hilton, but the price and location compensated this cons. However I cannot imagine me staying in my room for a week.

Ive stayed in a few Hiltons before and enjoyed them, expected no different. I had an awful experience here. The first room I had was too warm with no temperature control and both taps delivering hot or lukewarm water. The next night they moved me to another room. This one had cold running water but it was freezing and the temperature control did not help, the carpet in this room looked dirty and I decided the showers near the pool were cleaner and better to use that night. Overall disappointing and I would not like to stay here again.

Went for a wedding reception. Drinks are ridiculously expensive and they are no different to any served elsewhere. Security followed us into the room and rudely asked us if we were 'with the wedding or not'

Ss atf were amazingly helpful, breakfast and afternoon tea was super. Only let down was the struggle to get dairy free options despite booking this way back and confirming this option hence 4 stars instead of 5

If i could give zero stars i would! I have stayed there a few times and after the last time i refused to go back.
The process to making a complaint was a joke, and still i never got a response. The regional manager left a reply on tripadviser to my comment but never replied.

Hilton is sadly a beautiful building that is poorly maintained with staff poorly trained or not bothered and struggling to understand my english accent.

The compalints with rooms have gone from smell, dirty carpets, damp, a door that look like it had been kicked in, bath that really needed replacing and fire system hanging out the wall!

The bar is pleasent but the staff are not the greatest and the food is fair but slightly expensive for what it is.

After the terrible experience i had and poor customer care i made the decision to not use them again. If hilton had bothered to reply to me i may have tried using the chain elsewhere like when i went to tokyo for my honeymoon!

Dont go here.

I visited LivingWell Health Club at the Metropole Hotel and what a pleasant experience. The club has been renovated recently and looks very stylish. There's a heated swimming pool and spa pool as well as a sauna and steamroom along with a remarkably well-equipped gym. The club is for hotel guests and also runs a membership scheme for locals. Particularly impressive was the quality of the staff who were professional, pleasant and knowledgeable in gym training, diet and fitness. The only downer was the changing rooms which are a bit cramped and run down, but not bad enough to knock off a star.

Very good located place to stay in Brighton. Excellent service in bar and reception. Room was clean, specially bed and desk, floor and windows a bit dusty or gray. Toilets cleaned well. Anyway architecture very interesting, very traditional design inside.

we attended a Charity Event here on a Saturday Evening and have to say that from a few venues that we have been to over the years this topped them all. The staff were amazing, helpful and a pleasure. The event room itself and setting was second to none. Well done

This hotel is in a great seafront location, however it somewhat tired and need of an update.

One of the reasons for booking here was to experience the 'inviting cuisine with stunning sea views' from the 'popular waterhouse restaurant' - but that was closed! I suspect as it wasn't popular enough to open on a sunday.

Only option was to sit in the bar to have bar food which simply wasn't good enough for a pricey hotel.

Disappointing.

I booked this hotel for a business trip, but if I had come for leisure I would be super disappointed. My double room for 2 people ended up being tiny - one person would have to crawl up from the bottom of the bed as there is so little space in the room the bed is pressed up against the wall. There are no plug sockets near the bed either.

The view is the most depressing thing. I have a view of the fire escape and a wall. This was definitely not what I expected when I looked at the photos of the rooms.

As I said, totally "ok" for a short business stay, but definitely not what I expected and would definitely upset me if this was my holiday.

Food and beverage staff especially Charlie at Sunday lunch and Joshua in the waterhole were brilliant but these 2 went over and above job spec. Rooms are tired in need of update and some maintenance but are spacious and the beds are comfy. Reception staff particularly the females could be more friendly but ate efficient. pool area and gym are excellent. Overall a good stopover but could do with some Tlc and an area to have just coffee's that is not a bar would be nice. Breakfast was excellent.

Service was excellent, the room was lovely and the hotels COVID procedures seemed more than adequate (which is exactly what you want at the moment!)

Only possible complaint is that the rooms could perhaps do with refurbishment soon. Still it was well worth the money paid.

Classic Hilton. Great brand and a complete lottery as to what kind of hotel you're going to get. It's rarely an amazing experience and usually far below the standard of other hotel chains. This one is very much below what you'd expect for a decent hotel. Everything is tired, no air con, useless shower. Failing on pretty much all of the basics.

The shower was broken, the room got old and the wifi, water had to be paid extra after the room booking. The premium room was connected through a door to another room. My neighbors were perfectly heard.

Staff are excellent but the hotel is very dated, they have some newer modernised rooms but they try and save them for some reason !!
Its happened to us 3 times now, insist on the modernised rooms.

Stayed here twice. The first time all good. Second time well... nothing against reception (the Greek guy that checked me in was new, but really good) or the room which was perfectly clean and with sea view. I tried (tried!) to eat at the bar/lounge but the staff was uninterested. I waited 10 minutes, seated, but nobody came to ask me anything. I then went myself to the counter asking for a menu and ordered a drink to the skinny guy with bushy hair. After 15 more minutes waiting, the drink never came, nor a staff member to take my order. I gave up and went somewhere else since in 25 minutes they were not able to serve me not even an orange juice. Even though people that came after me was getting table service.
Hotel is ok, F&B needs attention. Breakfast good.
I staid on the 5th September in room 418.

Booked on a comparison site with the understanding of it be pay on the day. Several times over weeks prior the hotel tried to take payment. Upon arrival the hotel was stunning. The reception area looks very grand. The spa and facilities are lovely. Pool area could do with an update though. When it came to check in, Ricardo seriously lacked customer service skills, was very abrupt and not very helpful. We booked 2 twin rooms. We got 1 twin and 1 double. Over an hour later we were given 2 singles instead of the double. The lady who resolved this was very nice. The rooms were very hot and stuffy. Main lights didn't work in 2 out of 3 rooms. Bed was very creaky and lumpy. Generally could do with a revamp. Also quite easy to get lost in the hotel as it isnt well sign posted at all.

Very disappointing for the price point, rooms are tired looking, water is available in the rooms however this at an additional cost unless your a premium member ( don't put this in the room to extort your customers ), WiFi is free if your savey enough to put in the code and is very noise with drunk guests at 03:00.

Will not be staying again

If you are staying in Brighton then the Hilton Brighton Metropole @brightonmet is a good choice, it is located on the seafront with great view of the sea and the old pier. They have an underground parking and if you come by train then it is only a 15 minute walk straight down towards the sea. The restaurants and bars are good, but if you fancy something different there is plenty of options close to the hotel. The hotel has a decent size pool and the gym has a good selection of machines and equipment. The rooms are big but could do with a refurb as they are rather tired but the sea view is fabulous. All in all, if you get a good rate it is a good choice

Have always wanted to stay at this iconic hotel. Be careful of what you wish for. Generally the hotel is ok but dining here is very inadequate. We were advised by reception that the bar restaurant was very relaxed no need to book and turn up when your ready etc Still standing around at 21:30 pm waiting to get a table! Not happy when they had a whole restaurant empty that isn t used in the evening. 3 other parties gave up. Definitely a drinking bar than a family food bar. If reception had of advised us correctly then we would have booked elsewhere. The slogan of if you not happy let s us make it right is a joke. I complained to the bar manager who hit the usual level 2 customer service answer, yes you are right and then to add insult to injury the hotel duty manager started telling me where the fish and chip shop was! Disgusted to be walking the streets at 10pm with my 2 children looking for a meal.
Rooms are basic, noisy air con, never again.
Much better at Kings hotel.
If the staff believe in their slogan I look forward to hearing from them.
2 stars as my daughter likes the pool.
Shocking

Was greeted by a friendly female member of staff and was told we were able to check in early which we weren't expecting, and was directed to a lovely big room, again which we were expecting as I only booked a standard double to accompany the spa booking I'd made at the hotel so having a nice big room was a lovely bonus. I really enjoyed everything about the stay, it was only for one night and I was very comfortable. Only things I'd point out would be the room had some slight tlc needs like a few bumps and marks on the walls and ceiling from age and some of the bathroom pots had wear and tear but as I said, these things didn't effect the comfort of my stay and I would still recommend the hotel for the price. Also worth mentioning the spa facilities were lovely and professional and clean, we went on a gift voucher so made them an affordable experience and worth a visit.

Can t say a bad thing about this hotel. Great location, and the breakfast (as is the case with most Hiltons) will be amongst the best buffet breakfasts you will ever have - a wide selection with plenty of healthy (and delicious unhealthy!) options, as well as a skilled while-you-wait egg chef.

An independent hotel booking service messed up our booking and we weren t on the list of expected guests at the hotel, but the Hilton staff were extremely patient and helpful. They sorted out a brand new booking for us, and gave us vouchers for complimentary drinks in the (very nice!) hotel bar whilst we waited.

Fantastic staff, beautiful clean hotel and rooms, and just seconds away from the coast.

Stopped here 4 weeks ago now, was a bit concerned by the comments about hotel, but I could find no fault, rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, very good social distancing in place, and breakfast was fantastic, well organised and great staff, who went above and beyond.

One of the hottest days of the year and didnt give me a air-conditioned room. It was unbearable. I offered to pay more for a room with aircon and they wouldn't do it. I had to even ask for a fan to try and cool the room so I could sleep. This was issued, however wasn't something they suggested. Room service didn't have half the food ordered in the morning. I would expect more from the Hilton chain. I will not be staying again!
