Hatch Staffing Services Review

Worked for Hatch Staffing for about 6 months, later became a manager at a client company and interacted with local and corporate management regularly. Overall experience working for/with Hatch totals 6 years.

As an employee, it was difficult at times to understand why I didn't get to work even though I was at work pleny early. As a client, I understand that any agency needs to over-schedule in order to ensure they achieve the requested headcount, and "first-come, first-served" is the fairest way to do it. Pay was pretty standard for a temp job.

One key at Hatch was that if you were a no-show for your assignment, you were suspended for a week. This taught me at 19 years old that I had to show up for work or face the consequences, which has served me very well. Management was tough in this regard, but fair in application of the policy.

Over the years I came to know some of the higher-ups in the organization. Hatch is dedicated to providing the best possible service to its clients, and local managers are held to very high expectations by the corporate office. When major issues arose, seasoned veterans from the corporate office were on-site the next day.

Without going on too long, I've worked with various agencies in the years since our company broke ties with Hatch, and the biggest thing that stands out to me is the responsiveness of Hatch to client needs. No other agency has sent out corporate reps to a building, other than in the initial courtship phase. Other agencies have been nonchalant when failing to meet a request. Hatch on-site managers were always determined to make the orders and would make last-minute phone calls until they exhausted available resources, or got the person they needed.

I would recommend Hatch both to prospective employees as well as clients.

Hatch Staffing has to be the best staffing agency I have ever been with. They are so sweet and considerate. They are always sending me emails keeping me up to date with current things, they also celebrate my accomplishments and they even came to deliver goodies to me at my work assignment for Employee Appreciation Day, it just feels really nice working with people like that. RyAnn is such a delight to work with, my sisters and I have been working with her for the longest time, and she never fails to amaze us. She's just awesome, always follows up, makes sure we are on the same page, and just always makes sure that I'm doing okay, and if I have any concerns she helps right away.

The HatchELITE program is an amazing experience for any college student! The experience and opportunities that come with this 10 week program is something you cannot pass up. The Hatch team is warm, welcoming and and a genuine group of people that support you.

I was an intern there during this summer. I have learnt a lot from the employees there which has helped me to know more about the staffing industry. I worked for Hatch Staffing during the summer of 2012 in their ELITE Internship program and my experience could not have been better. From the start, everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming and genuinely wanted to see me succeed. Even though this was an internship at a staffing agency, my responsibilities were never limited to the one position. If an intern found they had an interest in sales, accounting, or anything else business related Hatch Staffing would give them the resources and mentors to get involved. This is not a grunt work internship - they genuinely treat their interns as one of their own by allowing them to have real responsibilities and by providing constructive feedback on their progress. Not only did this opportunity allow me to grow my knowledge of the business world, but I also had fun doing it. Hello, my name is not Alexis. Someone who works for you or is claiming to work for you named Aziza (no idea how it is spelled) has been calling me looking for the elusive Alexis for a great opportunity. There have been numerous calls to me as well as voicemails from Aziza looking for Alexis. When I do answer I calmly say that they have the wrong number and ask to have my number removed from their records, as I am not Alexis.

It has been a month now and I have received approximately 10 phone calls since then from Aziza and some other woman who i did not catch her name, all with the same response, oh uh sorry sir, this is the number we have on file. Well Aziza, something isn't adding up now is it? You keep calling me, looking for Alexis, yet I answer, and politely ask you to stop calling... (granted each one of these calls is from a different number so I can never know when I block the last caller ID it will stick)

Some suggestions...
1) When you call people repeatedly and are told , "you have the wrong number and please remove me from your records," don't call the same number another 10 times.
2) Don't get frustrated when people ask you to stop calling, you made the mistake, own up to it.
3) Don't huff and puff at me then hang up while I am asking you, I've lost count now, to remove me from your records...

The last time I called back "Dan" assured me that my number would be removed from your records....yet you are still calling me.

This is incredibly unprofessional for an organization to constantly harass someone who has asked multiple time for your company to stop calling.

Ryann is the absolute best at what she does. She is super warm and welcoming. She always has a positive attitude and she never gives up. She works with you no matter what and she is very good at what she does.

Worked as a temp through them while they also looked for a full time job. They were really helpful and found a bunch of temp positions for me and found me a long term temp position that turned into a full time job. They had a lot of communication and worked hard to find me work.

Last summer, I was a recruiting intern in the 10-week HatchELITE summer program that Hatch prides itself on. What drew me in right away and what has kept me in contact with Hatch ever since is, by far, the people. The team has such a genuine, colorful cast of eager, hard-working personalities. If ANYONE gets people, it's the Hatch team. For the staffing industry, Hatch's commitment to fulfilling candidate needs, employee needs, and client needs truly separates them from the pack.

More than anything, the internship allowed me to gain invaluable experience and sharpen people skills that have stuck with me in every aspect of my life. Hatch pushed my limits and saw more of my potential than what I thought I had. They assigned all of the interns mentors within the company which kept me on focus. So I went in, thinking they would get back to me within a week or so. They got back to me within 24 hours and got me a job 24 hours later. They took everything I wanted into consideration and Even though there was a little hiccup with the account they helped through it and got it sorted. I was contacted by Hatch a few months ago to do an interview. BTW I was by the recruiter that she will call me in a week and yet I never heard anything. Also she told me they have plenty of work from general labor, light assembly, to administrative. So then a couple of weeks ago I decided to call and see what happened and if there was any work. Left a message and have yet to get any response, even to get a call back to tell me there is no work, would at least be a courtesy since no job is permanently yours.

Every single member of this wonderful staff takes you under their wing like you are one of their own. They are extremely clear with all direction, and give their 110% in finding positions. I feel as though I could go back and ask any member of the Hatch staff a question if I needed.....on absolutely anything. I cannot stress enough how helpful this team is in all aspects of life. I TRUST Hatch and would recommend them to anybody looking for a job OR if you are a business seeking to use a staffing service, USE THIS FANTASTIC service.

The company I worked for in Milwaukee used Hatch for all our contingent needs and they are hands down the best staffing company I've ever worked with! Even though we didn't need their services all that often they still treated us like one of their biggest clients. We always felt like our position(s) were of the highest priority! The application process is simple and straightforward.
The people are nice.
The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the communication. Especially for temporary gigs, their communication should be at a higher level. It seemed like no one knew what was going on and the information that we were given initially was for the most part, incorrect. If I get the chance to work for them again, I would inquire into the details of the position much more than I did the first time.

This place is one of the absolute worse to go if you're looking for work. Zero follow through and zero response when you try to get answers as to why they've done nothing. Do not recommend.

Nothing but a positive experience, from the first call for an interview, to the experience of entering the beautiful historic building that the office is in.

Upon arriving on the fourth floor and entering the office just a few steps from the elevator, it's nothing less than a pleasant experience. The staff is smiles all around, courteous, classy and friendly. From "hello", I had the impression that they've never known a stranger.

The talent scout I met with, Kelmend, was a fine balance of professional and friendly. Although he provided a low pressure interview, some of the questions, or answers I should rather say, rely on the level of self-reflection or personal awareness the employment seeker has been or is willing to dig into. If you're into every day self-improvement, it'll be a breeze, since you know your personal inventory well. All in all, it was relaxed, at times challenging, and dare I say fun!

Don't get me wrong. Employment searching is serious business, but Hatch seems to have designed something that really works.
If you're tired of feeling like a number, if a staffing service has ever had you feeling any less valuable than you know you are, if any have looked or talked down to you, then you need the Hatch experience, as well as they need yours.

Overall, the Hatch Elite experience is good for professional development and a nice point on your resume. Although Hatch is a small company, they use their size to offer an internship directed at the interns. Since it is a part-time internship, you will still have time to work a shift at the factory (many of us had other jobs). The one qualm I had is that it was hard to get a feel for how much money one could make going into it. I would have much preferred our grant for unpaid internships than the $200 in commissions I earned over the summer. That being said, this company will go all-out to afford you professional growth. Every Wednesday is a speaker, whether at Hatch or another company. After training, you are allowed to shadow any position in the company (including the president) and they will explain to you how they do their position, along with some low-liability practice. You will gain salesmanship skills, presentation sales, learn how to make cold-calls and, most importantly, be on the hosting end of interviews... all on your own! In the business world and in internships, you have to start somewhere, so don't assume your first one will be paid. If you want an internship where you can build and hone your personal relations skills, this is a great opportunity for you!

I was referred to Hatch by a relative. When you walk in, you are greeted by a welcoming environment. I was interviewed by Kristin who was extremely pleasant to work with. After my initial interview at Hatch, they kept me updated on the next steps. Kristin helped me feel confident as I had not interviewed in a while. Although the job I applied for did not work out, they were very professional to work with and provided me with feedback on my interview in the end. They were also extremely friendly throughout the office as they were coming in and out saying hello to me. I would definitely recommend Hatch to others!

As an intern last summer in the HatchELITE program, I was able to gain valuable experience in a variety of different aspects. The people that I got to work with in the office were great with answering questions whenever I had them which fostered an environment that was very conducive to learning. I was also assigned a mentor that served as a main resource for me throughout the internship and I gained many practical skills and knowledge from that experience. A unique experience that the HatchELITE program offered that attracted me was the weekly speakers they brought in from all over state that provided all of the interns with great advice and a chance to network with professionals in many different industries. Overall the experience with the HatchELITE program and Hatch Staffing Services was one that developed me in many different aspects of my professional career and I was able to meet great people that work for the company that I enjoyed working with tremendously.

As a recent graduate it's hard to find a job in general, but especially so when you are unsure of what you want to do. Hatch not only helped me find a job within a few weeks, but Dan really listened to my likes and preferences for job environment and found me a job I love. The process was easy and reduced a lot of stress associated with job searches. I'm very happy I joined Hatch!

I have had the distinct privilege of working at Hatch this school year though the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) my school, Cristo Rey, offers. Hatch truly did WOW my experience as an intern. I have learned essential life skills that I will be able to take with me as I enter college this fall, and soon the workforce. The Hatch ELITE internship program was the most valuable internship experience I had as a college undergrad. The program was comprised of 14 total interns and we were given actual responsibilities that contributed to the day in and day out functionalities of Hatch to gain real life experience and have the opportunity to make an impact on the business. Hatch encourages interns to play on their strengths, challenges their weaknesses and dive deep in any particular aspects of the business that interests them. For example, we were given topics that we had to research, and present our findings on, individually to Hatch employees. One topic was social media and how Hatch could leverage their efforts. I was particularly interested in this area and when I won the best presentation I was given the opportunity to take social into my own hands and help increase Hatch's efforts. I even stayed on an additional year at Hatch working solely on social.

Overall, I learned valuable career skills as well as gained a better understanding of who I am becoming as a professional. It should go without saying that the coworks/culture at Hatch is incredible and from it I even gained a mentor who has helped guide me on my professional journey. I would recommend this internship to anyone, it's an opportunity you should not pass up.

Absolutely wonderful visit, the receptionists were pleasant and the recruiter, Debbie, was very nice and professional. I feel that she will really try to get me a job.
