Hint: ensure your air condition first thing when check in

We stayed at the Hard Rock hotel from 16th to 20th, which we enjoyed. The hotel was nice and has its vibes. Staff is trying to be nice and professional.

I have to mention that we were checked-in to a room that has a broken air-conditioning. At the start we thought it will take time to cool the room as we checkedin. After trying to call recipient many times, they sent an engineer to check it out which he found it was broken, then we had to be moved to another room, which was a little nicer and a bigger size that the first one. Yes it was resolved, but when I was reading about the hotel most tge comments were about the air conditioning issues, And I was worried about it and I faced it!! The question to the hotel why dont you have a preventive maintenance !! And get the whole issue done, also others while trying to solve my room issue, they were complaining about their doors did not open coz the battery of the door ran out !! Seriously you do have an issue with the maintenance team.

Also, during the rush hours of the hotel, no one will pick up the phone even if you call 100 times.

The hotel is in reasonable condition as at time of writing, a refurbishment must have taken place in the not too distant past. The bed obviously was not old and was of good quality providing good support to someone who has a history of back problems. However I would question the value for money given other aspects of the room. I had managed to secure a superior double but it was not particularly big. Luckily I was by myself but two people in the room and you'd potentially be bumping into each other or finding it difficult to pass each other. Secondly, it was an inward facing room overlooking one of those grotty contained courtyards where you can only see the windows of other rooms, or you could if the windows weren't masked so you can't see out except for the uppermost panes! The lift system does not work well either as on one side it's an old fashioned button and on the other is new system with a touch screen. It's not immediately apparent which system is responsible for which lifts.
The breakfast was good but not remarkable.

I would stay there again but it wouldn't be my first hotel of choice.

The hotel has good location, rooms are good well structured!
Our bag had ripped the wheel and in return gave us a small bag, we do not accept. After 4 days bought a bag over pessima higher quality and delivered as if it were all the same.
The sign of the internet does not work, we came to work and need the internet and only works in reception in poor accommodation.
Witnessed the entry and exit of people who are not staying at the hotel which caused us insecurity.

Really we do not care about their guests!!!

Lovely hotel. Great location. Nice restaurant serving good food. Given the size of the hotel, it did feel a little like a warren and was a touch dated in places. But room was clean, modern and spacious.

We stay at hotels all over the world. The hotel is very clean and impressive-looking. We actually had a second bathroom in our junior suite. We met a lot of wonderful Middle Eastern people. Many Middle Eastern restaurants, businesses and people. Even the signs are in Arabic. We had a great time. The problem is the entire staff with the exception of a few we're totally clueless on how to treat their customers. They are improperly trained at all levels. Reception,.housekeeping, bar servers we're all a disappointment. We had to call daily for housekeeping, limited choices for beer and alcohol, it was almost like everyone was on their first day at the job. We still don't know how much we had to pay for the upgrade no one took the time to tell us. I do not recommend this hotel and I will never come here again.

Excellent location of the hotel. Good rooms and excellent sraff and service. The staff is very polite
The breakfast spread is great. The location enables you to be in the centre for good food joints all at walking distance. The Oxford Street the centre for shopping in London is just below the hotel
Wallis... Primark... Selfridges... Mark and Spencer... Uniblo... All walking distance. Stay is real value for money.

Not great, not great at all. I actually got a chest infection from staying here. They did give me a complimentary stay for my issue, but only when I pushed for it. Otherwise it was a small discount off next stay.

The positives: Great location central to shopping with Marble Arch tube station right next door. Very good noise insulation. Good breakfast spread. Helpful concierge. Negatives: Small rooms made even pokier by bad design. (Who needs an iron in its own bulky console in the middle of the room?) Badly planned toilet design ( when sitting on the toilet one backs into the toilet roll). Beds whose mattresses sink.

Stayed 6 nights from Sept28 until Oct2 2017. AC only turned on but thermostat do not work properly. It just kept getting colder until you could not stand it so you had to turn it off. Then the room started getting hot. The TV did not work and they did not send anybody to fix it even thought we asked 4 or 5 times for days in a row. They did try but failed to fix the AC. They offered to move us to another room but I did not want to repack just to move. The breakfast was good. Everything else was just average. Not what a 4 star hotel would be in America.

Nice hotel, but a big place they had a lot going on. I wanted to pop in for a quick breakfast on Saturday morning at about 9am but the line was 20 people out the door just to get seated. Good location and really helpful people though.

Bad service, the AC is broken, they don't answer the phones (kept calling room service, house keeping, call center and Emergency number in 2 days in a row with no answer, I had to go to the lobby physically 2 times to get the job done)..

Additionally, I received my room at 5:30PM (waited for 4 hours)

I attended a seminar here. The location is right next to Marble Arch so it's very good if you wanted to be in the centre of London. The hotel was busy but there was plenty of staff to help. The Room the seminar was held in was very good, no external noise the water was in bottles and chilled. Cannot fault the venue.

The rooms were comfortable enough but on three occasions we were relaxing on the bed watching television when a member of staff just let themselves into our room without any notification. We found that most of the staff were quite rude in the fact that they wouldnt acknowledge us - maybe it could have been that we were Aussie. Maybe the Cumberland Management might want to review their check- in procedures as the staff (who were only following procedure they have been taught)were clueless as to what was going on. I would not recommend the Cumberland to anyone - especially those going on a Trafalgar Tour as they are treated like second class citizens and put into an annex next door to the main building into inferior rooms - rooms with water coming out of light fittings and rooms where the aircon doesnt work - the amount of money per night could be put to better use - find a decent hotel - probably cheaper where the staff are friendly and the rooms in working order.

They forgot about me when checking in. Had to remind them that I had been waiting for a long time for a room. The TV wasn't working when I got there and I'm pretty sure they didn't change the bed sheets. I'll give them credit that it was just a cable that got unplugged for the TV to work.

Rooms were good, free safe, good brand of TV, nice and big bathrooms with large shower and heated towel rack. Breakfast buffet was included and offered a wide selection of different foods and did include Cumberland sausages. Location was perfect on the corner of Oxford Street and Hyde park.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the standard room is rather small compared to other hotels I have stayed. The room is well kept, has enough lighting, the bed and pillows are comfy, and the bathroom is really clean. The heater works perfectly, and the water pressure is excellent. There's a safety deposit box, and ironing board with iron inside the tight closet. Breakfast buffet is served at the Market, downstairs below the lobby at 7AM. There's a fixed selection of salads, cold cuts, bacon, sausages, bread, cereals, and eggs. There's an omelette station manned by courteous staff who greets customers everyday, and prepares really tasty omelettes. The toasts are already served toasted, but I prefer warm toast than cold toast, so I often ask the lady staff to make new toasts for me, and hesitantly she makes the toast after a slight insist lol. Then I put cream cheese and strawberry jam on the warm toast, yummm! The strawberry yogurt with the mixed berries are great as well. The downside terribly slow lifts, there are 4 lifts, but it feels like only 2 are working, often times, the lifts would pass twice full, then the 3rd pass would be empty, really dislike waiting on lifts, stairs are also inconvenient as its part of the fire exit and entry/exit is located outside the hotel. A fire alarm went off early morning that startled the guests, really annoying buzzing noise, people went out of their rooms in pajamas and on foot, but it seemed to have been a false alarm. Overall, the hotel is above average, location is strategic, but would look to stay at a better hotel until ongoing renovations into Hard Rock Hotel are done.

This review from somebody who worked in hotels for 7 years (reception specifically). I went to the hotel to visit my friend who was staying in this hotel, to cut the story short the girl in reception, I think she was Spanish/Italian/South American, but not sure from where, made me feel like as if I was a criminal who visited their hotel. All I asked her was to let me up to his room because any guest needs a key card to activate their lifts. After asking me hundreds of questions about my friend, then she decided to call him in his room and ask him to come down to meet me. She was very rude to me and I honesty felt like as if I was a very bad person just because I walked in to this hotel. She is an example of giving bad customer service. The lobby was so busy like you got the feeling you in a shopping mall. If you coming to London for holiday or business avoid this hotel. Save your self some money or stay in hotels near the Park Lane. Again this is from somebody who worked in front of house hotel reception management level.
