Everything you could expect from a 5 stars hotel. Perfectly maintained rooms and facilities. A private beach by the bay, and some good options of food. The only remarks are the walls that are too thin, you can even hear people whispering on the other room.

This facility was noted to be very clean on my last professional visit, with very pleasant staff. I was surprised at the absence of signs to direct participants to the meeting locations but was ultimately able to find my way.

For luxury, privacy, and comfort, stay in the casitas which are tucked away in quiet area of the property, separate from the main hotel. They offer several room sizes and are great for families, business travelers, weekend getaways and staycations.

Excellent hotel in the Tampa area. We stayed there last weekend and the service was fantastic. We were traveling for business, but added a family leisure day. I was traveling with my husband, two elementary aged kids and twins 5 months old. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Check in was a breeze, Valet was quick and professional and housekeeping kept my room clean. Called for extra pillows and blankets and they were delivered in 5 minutes. Only feedback is the restaurants close early so only food option late is the bar. Menu options there were too healthy for me - I would have preferred something different. But I had the chicken and it was great. Kids had the margarita flat bread and that was good too. Breakfast was pricey.

Nice hotel, location good, free self parking, rooms big and most hotel staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The outside bartender openly complains about people when they walk away from the bar, it's awkward and disappointing enough to make me choose elsewhere to stay.

Had a so-so stay here but the customer service and the staff really stood out going above and beyond. They were very polite and helpful, always seeing what they could do to help. For example, while I was waiting for my ride, they offered me bottled water. I got in a great conversation with Wayne too about the sports jersey I was wearing. The food at the restaurant in the hotel was amazing as well. Also, the two pools are great---especially the one by the beach.

I say it was so-so because it was really hard for me to get a hold of anyone at the hotel before our trip and at the start of the trip. It was strange...no one answered the phone. This also happened when I called them to pick me up from the airport (which is <10 minute drive from the hotel) and I ended up having to call for around 15 minutes before I could speak to anyone.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was at the Grand Hyatt in Tampa!!! We were amazed at the customer service especially with Patricia Baquero. She is amazing and made sure from check in to check out that all of our needs for the stay were met. We came out to Tampa to adopt a baby and ended up staying 3 weeks in the hotel. She was checking on us regularly and truly cared about us. We even noticed her working around the holidays and she worked after hours throughout our stay. She gave 5 star service and we need more of her working in customer service. THANK YOU PATRICIA BAQUERO!!!

Great but not perfect

Great but not perfect
Pros:
Spacious rooms
Small nature trail in back of hotel
luxury and resort like feel
oystercatchers pool , bay and sand area
24 hr room service
Armani views and menu
free parking
responsive service
large lobby area including restaurant and plenty of hangout space
5-10 mins from airport
elegant areas , including places for receptions , meetings, weddings and private parties

Cons:
Slow internet, needs more bandwidth
no free breakfast
limited room service menu
room service and restaurant menus expensive for area
views, pool and beach area are not exclusive(you can go other places to experience it)
isolated , hotel food choices are able to corner market due to distance from competitors
oystercatchers area closes at 10pm even on weekends
check in time is 4pm-should be 3pm standard
paywall for some computers in hotel
rooms aren t anything special
pay extra for bay views , otherwise its a parking lot views and highway views or mixed
Verdict:
Great value , good for ppl with tight flight schedules, elegant with small mini flaws... not worth more $180/night w/ tax

5-day professional stay at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. The hotel is on top: the room is spacious with comfortable bedding, the bathroom is large with a walk-in shower. The hotel offers several restaurants, and pleasant amenities: fitness, swimming pool, airport shuttle. The view of the bay is also superb. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the ground floor, which is not included in the room. The parking is him however vast and included.

Our stay the 14th & 15th of March was not that pleasing. We booked a double bed casitas 3 weeks in advanced and when we arrived they didn t have our room ready and they advised us that they didn t have any double bed casitas available. I m super calm but shouldn t be bc I spent a lot of money. Their only accommodation was a a single king size bed and a roll out bed. Not acceptable! The entire stay I ve been told that once one becomes available I ll hear from them. Well it s the next day at 5:00 pm and not even a phone call. We usually love this hotel but this visit was not at all pleasurable the way I d imagined it to be. For a stay this expensive I d imagine I could be accommodated better than what I was. The rooms advertised on the website are not as luxurious in person nor spacious.
Will definitely be choosing another hotel stay next time.

We stayed in A Casita King for 2 nights, and initially the stay was wonderful. We ate at Oystercatchers and ordered room service. HOWEVER, today before checking out, my husband, two year old and myself went to eat at the breakfast club in the main lobby. After eating the waiter walks up to us and asks if we're employees eating there. Mind you, he asked no other table, all of which were full with patrons. We can only assume because we are a young family, and obviously minorities that we were profiled based on our appearance.
When I approached the front desk and told the clerk that the manner in which the waiter approached us was inappropriate, she responded that "I must understand because the staff received a call that an employee would be eating at the breakfast club."
Um, what do I need to understand? Once again, that because I'm a young minority, I must need to understand it's reasonable that people would assume that I'm an employee?
I then requested to speak to a manager and was directed to Michael Fisch, and upon informing him of the situation he apologized but then asked me if "I thought it was offensive to be an employee?"
No, I don't find it offensive to be an employee. I find it offensive that my family was eating breakfast and when we asked for the check, the waiter automatically assumed we were the employees and that the three surrounding families around us were the patrons.
My family are General Contractors and I am a second year law student. It's 2017, just because we're in our 20's with a child does not mean that we MUST UNDERSTAND that we could be confused with employees. You would think by now a business that relies on its hospitality management would have some sort of training for its employees to not act so ignorantly.
The manager compensated one nights stay, but that does not rectify the disrespect our family felt. It was never about getting a compensated night, we had no problem paying our stay and services. We were just eating breakfast before checking out and instead of leaving happy, we left upset and offended.
When we stayed last month at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando we were treated wonderfully and with respect.
We will not be returning to the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and will be canceling our second Casita King rental we had booked for June 9th.

This hotel looks beautiful, but service and staff sucks. They do not understand how to provide world-class service. They switched my room at past midnight making me pack all my stuff, and after switching the room, new keys would not work. I had to go to front desk with all of my stuff. Then I go to front desk, and this front desk guy says he would come and help, he stops half-way until I call him.
If you like hotels with outstanding service, avoid this place. This place does not provide outstanding service.

Limited access to other places in the area, so you are stuck eating their overpriced and second-rate food. They skipped cleaning my room for a day. The area is surrounded by vegetation - so, bring lots of bug spray or be ready to be eaten alive.

This hotel was perfect. The staff was super helpful and dedicated. The room had a nice view, huge tv, lots of electrical outlets, very comfortable beds, a nice mini fridge, lots of space, and a nice bathroom with strong shower pressure. Both the Armani's and Oystercatcher restaurants at the hotel were amazing but pricey.

The rooms were comfortable and the property has nice grounds to explore! I m giving this hotel 4stars only because food was awful, everything was too salty and lacking flavors. Unfortunately there is nowhere else close by to get food. If you are planning on staying here for a few nights bring your own snack.

It is a very nice hotel with accommodating staff. There are several excellent restaurants on site and the views are amazing. The parking garage is ridiculously short and it's not walking distance to anything.

We just left June 24, 2015. We thought we'd upgrade on this trip to Tampa. We live in Tallahassee and come to Tampa every month so we've been to most of the hotels on the beach and causeway. The room was very clean and the view was spectacular (about the same as any other hotel on the beach-double bed) but it literally smelled like a litter box!! Check in staff was great but the rest didn't speak English. I phoned to have a complimentary tea package delivered to my door. It says, "Just dial 0 and we'll place the item in a plastic bag on you doorknob with a knock and you'll know your items have arrived." So I jumped in the shower. After 5 minutes I heard pounding on the door. I had to get out of the shower to answer the door, dripping wet, to make it stop. I asked for them to leave it and returned to the shower to rinse. They did not!! I had to call down again for the item. Apparently their paperwork is not correct as the staff cannot leave or serve anything without their tip!! So much for complimentary. I don't like being bullied and the large price difference it is not worth this hotel. There are no restaurants around them without driving and their menu is minimal and costly. I'm going back to stay next door at the Sailport Waterfront Suites where you get tea, the same views, better service and a great balcony for evening sitting. There are 3 restaurants in walking distance. That's how we enjoy Florida!!
