Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay Review

What is above excellent? I say sheer perfection which is exactly what we experienced during our stay December 21 - 29, 2015. The location was perfect, the hotel and our room were perfect, the food was perfect, the staff was perfect, especially Katie Beach, who was so very kind to arrange for our party of 5 to 'crash' the Sunday Brunch without a reservation! We will NEVER stay anywhere else but at your sheer perfect hotel when visiting Tampa. Thank you to all!!

We had dinner at Armani's. Excellent service, great food and am overall good experience. Highly recommend!

Great stay for the OLB Annual Meeting. Huge crowd arriving all at once with over 200 rooms needed and the same amount checking out. Got in the room with a little delay but Susie at the front desk welcomed me to enjoy a complimentary shrimp cocktail and beverage at the bar while I waited. The food at the event was outstanding and so was the service. You would never know it was buffet unless you saw it. The room was spotless with a nice view of the bay and sunsets. BTW. They pour a nice drink. Enjoy!

Oystercatchers is an amazing restaurant connected to the Hyatt. You will not be disappointed!
It overlooks the water, absolutely great!

Modern, clean rooms. Nice and clean hotel area. A pool right by the main house, a bit further away, via a beautifully landscaped path through nature. There you are practically alone. Unfortunately no way to swim in the bay. Very good breakfast, but the price for the children varied daily. Free parking.

Everything was fantastic! Everything you need is right there! Close to the water, beautiful views of the water, airport and downtown. Beachy area, 2 pools, etc. The service was A++!! we were treated so well! Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning the room. We loved the italian restaurant in the hotel.

Excellent service. We had an issue with the condition of our originally booked room, Josh at the front desk quickly moved us to a different room that was very clean and also comped our meal. He was extremely professional and friendly. Linda, our server at breakfast, was also extremely friendly and offered us some great activity suggestions around Tampa. Overall, we had a great stay here.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and we had no issue when asking for more clean towels. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. They also have a nice path to walk on in the back of the hotel which lead to gazebos and a relaxing ocean view.

Rooms were clean and nice. Breakfast was really good and the attention was excellent. Will go back as soon as I can.

We have checked into this hotel after traveling all day to not have a remote for our television. It's me my husband and our 4 year old son. Please imagine a 4 year old whose been traveling all day with no means of entertainment for an entire hour. We are still sitting here looking crazy waiting for a remote control for the television. What kind of hotel doesn't ensure something as simple as a remote control for the telelvision is inside the room?!?!? This has really turned into the worst experience ever! First time in Tampa and we will never stay at this hotel again. These hotel staff members can't even get us something so simple as a remote so we can relax after a long days travel. I've called downstairs 3x and still nothing to show for it.

Now it's Saturday morning. Come to find out we were only stocked with 2 towels and 2 rags when we booked for 3 guest. Why not supply us with everything we need ? So no biggie right? Called down to the front desk for another rag and towel 30 mins ago now. I had to call a second time to see just how long it's going to take to get something as SIMPLE as a rag and towel!!!!! Something we should have already had and shouldn't have to wait for.

This place service needs some real upgrading !

Great hotel with a very nice view on Tampa Bay. The hotel is near the main road so you can easily get to another neigbouring places.

We dined at Armani's to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the views to the service to the food, I understand why this is rated a top restaurant in Florida. A must if you're looking for a swanky romantic dinner!

The building itself is nice but the cleaning service is not great at all. We had to wait 2 hours for our room to be ready, and then for the 2 nights we stayed there was hair in our bed sheets both days...

Just recently stayed here for a work function. The rooms were wonderful and beds super comfy (at least to our tastes). The hotel over all is very large and the common rooms and areas are very large and welcoming. You do not get the feeling you are crowded. The restaurants on site offer lots of selections and room service runs throughout the entire night. Rooms are spacious and ours offered amazing views of the bay at sunset. Bathroom was large and shower was decent too although water pressure did seem low - starting to see this more often in our travels. Staff was very friendly and the ones upfront will never let you touch a door if they can help it. Will certainly stay here again when in the area!

The hotel is very nice, the convention facilities are good for medium sized conventions, and there are three restaurants available. The only drawback is that it's difficult to get to unless you already know where it is, and it's in the middle of nowhere. Getting to anything outside of the hotel campus requires a 15 minute car trip. If you don't mind the separation of a hotel located in the middle of a tidal salt flat surrounded by mangroves, or if you're looking for a place that is so separated, then it might be a good place for you.

I came for a wedding & it was beautiful! Huge dance floor, gorgeous pool, amazing views!! Everything is so clean and nice. All the employees are so helpful and accommodating.

Very Clean and relaxing. Loved the scenenery and the view. I stayed in the Cabanas near the water. It felt like waking up in a mini paradise. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Also the breakfast was delightful.

Walking from the hotel to The oyster bar is a beautiful walk.

We were there for a convention. Clean room & hotel all week with a great view of the bay. Easy access to the convention center with plenty of area off site dining. The hotel had an ice cream vendor that was a favorite of ours. The entire staff was friendly and helpful from the first to the last day of our stay.

Room was very clean and had updated decor. View of the Bay was very nice. Food from room service was great and delivered quickly to us. Overall experience was great. New Orleans Saints were staying there at the same time as us.

Very nice place to stay overall. Only had two issues. When we checked into our room, the electricity didn t work at all. Never seen that happen in a hotel in my life lol. They quickly put us in another room though, and it had a nicer view anyway. They also gave us a $50 credit for food and drinks. That was nice of them. The other issue was the mosquitos. Too many around the pool area and lake. My skin is super sensitive so we didn t get to enjoy those amenities. Maybe next time we ll spray down. Will be back!

I'm from a blue collar family so im used to simple hotels. This place is very welcoming and goes the extra mile for sure!

A beautiful hotel with a terrific view of Tampa Bay.

We live in Tampa and wanted to get away for couple of days, the agent promised us an ocean view. At the day of reservation wr hot a parking lot view, the rooms smell so bad and the club level food nothing yo compare to disney.
We are so frustrated!!!!
Even the manger could not do anything to improve our stay.

Great convention here. Ample accomodations and no need to run to stores or anything. There are not many fast food places near but oystercatchers and kitchen 1823 are enough if only staying a couple days.

The Grand Hyatt has become one of my go to places when I visit Tampa for work. They are always on top of things and always greet you with a smile. Special props to the hotel bar staff, they are awesome.

Nice room. Great view. No microwave in rooms. I couldn't warm up my food I brought in.

We spend the night in the rooms that name "casitas". All well except that the floor inside the room had small worms. Maybe because of the amount of recent rain.

Great hotel. Stayed in the Casitas. Loved every bit of the experience from the check in to the check out. The Casitas makes you feel like you re in a resort. Located only a few minutes from Tampa airport and the best part you don t hear any noise. Not far from Clearwater, St. Pete s, Dunedin, downtown Tampa etc. Great spot especially if you are travelling around the Tampa area.

Convenient to airport, picturesque views of Tampa Bay from nature walk, and has excellent fine dining choices on the property.

Memorable experience overall. The cleanliness, attentiveness, service, and convenience within this establishment is ideal and pleasant.

Really nice amenities that's why the 3 stars but I think they had bed bugs. Also really uncomfortable beds.

Beautiful, full service hotel with amazing views of the water. Breakfast buffet is very generous with endless choices of breads, pastries, eggs, etc. Service was phenomenal. The grounds are beautiful for a peaceful stroll and take in nature.

I've never been to another Hyatt like this one. It's like a miniature City with oyster catchers nearby and so many walking options. What an awesome View from the boardwalk!

Great customer service. Workers are friendly. Atmosphere is resort style.

We ate at Oystercatchers. The food was amazing but the atmosphere was lacking. It was loud, cold, and the serving staff looked frumpy and seemed like they were very scattered. It just didn't seem worth the money that we were paying.

It's an ok hotel, good if you're near the airport. Breakfast wasn't included in our room, which is a negative these days

Hotel rooms are ok. But location wise it very convenient, its just 8 min from tampa international airport and lots of indian restaurants in 3 to 4 miles radius
