David was able to professionally show me what the effects of a water heater of that age had. I appreciated his insite. We are scheduled to talk again about solutions which might be available.

Since we first tried used Genz-Ryan a few years ago, they have been our go-to for all our plumbing and heating needs. The technicians are thorough, efficient and genuinely personable and friendly. This has not always been the case with other companies we've used. Yesterday, Ryan did our yearly air conditioner check and, per usual, he lived up to the company's standards. I would also like to mention the office staff who make any contact pleasant.

Mike was great! He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he was doing and issues that needed to be dealt with! Thank you Mike for saving us from the summer heat!

Ryan came checked the AC unit promptly, and figured out problem with furnace that it was covered through my plan from CenterPoint (who denied coverage when I called prior to this appt). Ryan went on to call CenterPoint on my behalf, explained the situation and got Centerpoint to come and take a look at it! all this without any charge !!

Ryan showed up on time, was friendly and helpful! Got right to work and fixed the problem!

Chris G was our HVAC technician and he was fantastic! Very helpful, knowledgeable, polite and was even quiet while my child napped! We appreciate his wonderful service.

We bought our house and the day we closed we found out the furnace we broken. Our home warranty company couldn't get anyone to come out and fix it so we asked around and Genz-Ryan was the preferred company in the area. We are new to Minnesota and having a working heater is a must. Brent G was our service technician and right away he was polite and professional putting our minds at ease that he could get the heat going within the hour. It was 45 degrees in the house. Unfortunately it was only a quick fix on a 20 year old furnace. We ended up getting a new furnace but my story doesn't end here. We had to fight with my home warranty to company to cover some of the cost. That's where Brent stepped in and went above and beyond in getting me the paperwork needed and speaking to the home warranty company several times to get us reimbursed. This isn't part of his job. We did get partially reimbursed thanks to Brent. I know we'll need additional HVAC work done in the next year and Genz-Ryan will get our business. Customer service is not dead. Thanks Brent!

So happy I had a furnace tuneup from Genz-Ryan. Zac was great and very helpful. Answered my questions and fixed a plugged air conditioning hose that could have ruined my furnace over time.

Noah was prompt and courteous. He called ahead of time to let us know exactly when he would be here and arrived on time. The work was done professionally and quickly.

Horrible service, They do not stand by/offer any warranties. They had sold us a maintenance program, They never called to schedule the spring cleaning, Out AC unit was not working I called their 24 hour number and kept getting a voicemail, Finally left a message after no one picked up after calling 5 times. They called back and hour later at 10:30pm advised they would come do the spring cleaning the next day and give pricing for the repair. Once they were here they advised they would not be able to do the spring clean up until they fixed the issue with the unit and it would be $349.00 but they could do it for $296.00 they replaced an electrical part at the unit and when we were paying. They offered me duct cleaning of $700.00 with the duct cleaning was the only way we would get a hint of warrant on the part they just installed. They advised that they do not give warranties unless we do a buy up on that service. He said that there was no warranty on any work unless we spend money on the additional work. SO Basically we paid $300.00 for the repair and if it breaks in 30 minutes according to the guy that was here we are SOL. They do not guarantee any of their work. I will not be using them again. I will be canceling the contract as it does nothing at all for the customer but charge a monthly fee with no warranties on ANY work they do.

Paid thousands of dollars to have new pipes put in our master bath tub to fix a small leak. Came home the other day to our entry under the master flooded because their work failed. And of course we are barely past our 90 day warranty so screw us, we have to pay to fix our ceiling, tub and floors now because we didn't choose their 'whole house package to get the longer warranty. This damage is because of their bad work. But there is nothing we can do. I will Never recommend this company and never trust them to touch anything in my home again. What a joke.

UPDATED: after reaching out to management they sent plumbers back out and determined that the leak was in fact caused by a crack in their part. They replaced the cracked parts at no cost, which was nice of them. I only upgraded it to a 3 star because we could not come to an agreement on the repair of the drywall that was damaged by the leak caused by their faulty part. It was nice that they did fix their error though, but regrettable that they would not accept responsibility for all repairs needed due to their defective piece. That is a reflection of Genz Ryan and not their individual plumbers, who did their best and were professional despite disagreement between myself and management over repairs.

Bee was super insightful, helpful, and friendly - would recommend!

Billy came in and explained the procedure for the annual inspection and promptly started on performing procedures. He was very detailed and explained things as he went along. At the end told both of us his finding and how things looked. The were no major issues but he also suggested items that could be upgraded as optional. I would definately recommend Billy in the future.

I set up an appointment 2 months out to have them do a water heater service. I took a half day off of work only for them to no show & no call. I called & asked for a Supervisor to call me back. 5 days later & still no follow up. They must be too busy for new customers. Don't recommend you use this business.

Mike S. was an awesome technician, not only did he resolve my leak issue, he spotted another issue with my furnace. The second issue was resolved as well with a new part, same day, which was also covered under warranty! Thanks Mike for all your help!

This company is a scam! Our air conditioner needed a repair and Noah the technician told us that it ll cost about hundred dollars for the repair but instead they charged us over $1000! Customer service is terrible. They don t go above and beyond for you to make it right, they never made it right for us. I DO NOT recommend this company and I DO NOT want other families getting robbed with their shady business.

Our AC went out on a very hot day and after calling several different companies to get it repaired that day, Genz-Ryan was able to send out Mike B. within hours of me calling. I'm always hesitant about repairmen and them always trying to up-sell and find extra problems. Mike was very professional and friendly and very upfront about how much the repairs would be and asked permission before proceeding and handing me a bill. He even emailed photos of the AC issue to my husband at work and spoke with him about the problem. He was able to get it fixed same day which we were extremely grateful for. I would highly recommend Mike for prompt, professional service!

Good: Prompt scheduling and arrived on time. Job requested was completed quickly, good quality and good clean up of work space. Technician, Bill B., was courteous.

Bad: The work was to replace a defective water main cutoff valve (crack in brass valve body) that Genz-Ryan installed six years ago in a new construction townhome. GR would not consider a warranty and the less than 1 hour repair was almost $700. The tech spent more time inspecting other parts of the plumbing system resulting in over $3,200 of additional recommended repairs than it took to do the requested work. It felt like a fear-based up sell . GR probably should have done a better job when they installed the plumbing just 6 years ago if the issues were really that serious. I declined the $3.2K of additional work and will get a second opinion. I will not call GR for future plumbing needs.

Very quick response time, and very professional and thorough service. I was having a problem with my furnace on a very cold day and Mike arrived only about a couple hours after I called and fixed the problem with my furnace. Mike was very nice, professional and did a wonderful job explaining to me the problem I had with the furnace and also answered all questions I had for him. Thanks so much for your great and timely service.

Probably one of the worst experience I have had with any repair srvs.
All they want to do is sell you their products.
Had water heater flush and everything was fine until a day after service. Heater started leaking and of course when the srv repair person showed up "it wasn't caused by them." And to top it off they wouldn't give me a quote because they saw that I went out and purchased a new water softener from one of their competitors.
I would shop around before you call them .

Max was our tech and he couldn't have been better. He explained everything and talked about a variety if options. Extremely knowledgeable!

Way too expensive. It will cost you $99.00 to get a very pricey estimate so make sure you're sitting down! It cost me $700 to unhook a gas dryer and hook up a new one sitting 10 feet away - of which I assisted moving! The technician was good and had to install a shut-off valve to get it up to code. However, very overpriced for time spent on this project. The invoice for work performed stated "Plumbing Fuel Delivery System Renovation" which sounds impressive. I'm sure there's a flat fee for this work code when in fact the work didn't justify the short time spent. I need some other small projects done as well around the house (such as leaky toilet) but won't pay the high fees. Now I need to find another plumber.

The first crew came out at the appointed time and evaluated out needs and detailed what they could do and how much it would cost. They gave us a variety of options for items we had not considered doing, to the very basic repair which we had called about. They did the basic repair that day in a very short time. The further work was taken care of by a single repairman, who showed up on time, took care to cover the carpet on our basement stairs, wore covers over his shoes when working in the house, did all of the agreed work in a very professional and timely manner. We are very satisfied with the work done.

James P. was good to work with. He knew his stuff. The best thing about the visit was that he didn't pressure/guilt me into anything extra. He simply notified me of possible things I might need to fix in the future and left it at that.

Andrew did a great job diagnosing the issue, laying out all my options and then completing the repairs in a timely manner. Even worked outside while it was raining. Very professional. Would definitely use them again!

Bill was on time, called ahead to give estimate of arrival time. Extremely professional and made sure the repairs were completed correctly. Best plumbing service overall I have ever had! Very strongly recommended!

Our combination gas fired potable water and hydronic water heater had started leaking within the warranty period. The technician (Dave Brown) discovered that the tank was leaking and the entire unit needed to be replaced. He negotiated with the manufacturer for a warranty replacement. It was delivered and installed the very next day at a considerable discount. Dave was very friendly, professional, and the price was reasonable.

Our high efficiency furnace was leaking water from the exhaust blower housing and Genz-Ryan's technician (Noah Fieldseth) quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired it and corrected two other problems with a few hours. These guys are punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to do business with.

I'm very impressed with Alex Breuer at Genz-Ryan Plumbing! He came yesterday and fixed our spigot. He also extended the house shut off and drain inside. I was very impressed with the quality of work. It looked like how he would fix his own house! He also took a look at our toilet and let us know what was wrong with it.

I need to send one last shout out to how he dealt with my kids. We have six kids, a lot I know, my four year old and twelve year old were shadowing him almost the entire time. He didn't mind at all and normally I'll keep my kids away from people working cause generally it's irritating to them. How awesome for my kids to see someone loving their job!

A little pricey for the holidays. To start they had to reschedule my furnace tune up for 2 months from original appointment time due to emergencies, which I get, but 2 months?! And then when they show up, I find out that the exhaust pump, and the intake pump need to be replaced and my ducts need to be cleaned and a hefty price tag of almost $2500 gets thrown at me. I remember thinking, would it have been this bad if they came out 2 months ago? So for a $45 furnace tune up special, I ended up dropping $400 that I couldn't afford to have a temporary repair done on just one pump. Fingers crossed I have heat for awhile! Merry Christmas Ryan Ganz!

Excellent air conditioning service. We got an appointment within 2 days (during a heat wave) and sent out a technician. Jeremey was knowledgeable, polite and efficient. He identified the problems with our air conditioning unit right away, provided options for repair, set us up with an appointment and got the unit functioning through the heat wave until the repair could be complete.

Jeff Plasch and his helper Steve were here promptly as promised at 8 AM. Took the time to explain the job- went about it efficiently, were very respectful of our home- cleaned up the jobsite-and made sure we were completely satisfied with the work. Five star service.

We had great service with Genz-Ryan! We needed service on our furnace and water heater. Dave B and Noah F arrived on time and were very polite. They fixed the appliances quickly and got everything working back to normal! I will definitely use them again in the future!

Just had an amazing plumbing service today. Joel took the time to fully investigate our water leak issue, making sure he evaluated every possibility and tested the drain fix multiple times to be sure the work was done perfectly. He also had some additional great tips for keeping not only the tub but all other plumbing systems working great and things that someone with very little skill like myself could easily keep up with. I would highly recommend Joel to anyone who needed work done. Not only professional but personable and truly cares.

I called first thing this morning. The young lady I spoke with was very nice, professional and eager to help. She sent a plumber named Joel out within a couple hours. This man was so good. He also was very nice. He took time to explain things and he fixed it. I would recommend this company to anyone. Great staff. That s hard to find these days. Thank you so much!

I am a returning customer to Genz-Ryan and will say that in the Twin Cities I've found no better service. They are prompt to respond, carefully look at your issue/issues and provide you with options for repair so that you can decide what fits into your budget. The plumber that came to my home was awesome. He was courteous, kind, paid special attention to following safety and social distancing guidelines appropriate to the situation, and when he left, the areas he worked were cleaner than when he got there. I highly recommend their services.

The receptionists at Genz Ryan were very friendly and easy to work with. Ryan came to update our furnace and thermostat. Ryan with very professional and communicated options throughout the entire process. He answered all of our questions. So far we are very happy with deciding to go with Genz Ryan, as opposed to the local company we previously used.

Dalton came at 7:30 on a Friday night to look at our broken heater. He was kind, courteous and professional. I completely recommend Dalton!

Shayne was very polite, respectful of our home and vey through in explaining what he was doing. He offered great options to help us combat the dust and allergens that cause me to be uncomfortable. He did a wonderful job in a timely manner. It was a perfect service call!

Tyler did a fine job reviewing the air conditioner etc. He was pleasant seemed to be thorough going about his business in fact the only possible negative was that he wouldn't buy the motorcycle that I'm trying to sell. (Kidding about the negative he was fine but I do want to sell a motorcycle).

Tyler was able to come out the same sub-zero day as I reported my sad tale of woe. Anticipating the problem before he even left, he ensured he had all the tools and parts he needed to correct the issue within 5 minutes of donning his booties, AND despite all the help my two English bulldogs provided (with their tongues).

It was the most enjoyable service visit I've had.

Ryan was an excellent technician. He gave us all of our options for fixing and/or replacing our furnace. He was not pushy at all. We ended up doing a repair instead of replacement, but I think he set our expectations properly for a replacement in the near future.
