Gorgeous and comfortable hotel with shoddy custome...

Gorgeous and comfortable hotel with shoddy customer service. We booked months in advance for our 15th anniversary. Called ahead to make sure our room would have a tub, were assured it would but arrived to no tub. Manager was dismissive. It is a month later and I am still waiting to hear from the hotel about a billing dispute. They offer a 'stay three nights get 1 free' for American Express customers special on their website, but upon checkout, there is no free night. They claim it is a discounted rate for 4 nights, which is a flat out lie. It has been over a month and the hotel has yet to return a single call or email. I can't understand the attitude about either of these instances- not a single apology has been offered. Not a shred of acknowledgement that they could have done better. I've asked for one of the nights to be refunded and they have all but laughed at me. It may be a beautiful hotel but there was nothing pretty about the service there.

This was easily one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Great location in what seemed to be a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The room was gorgeous, spacious and clean. The staff was great also anyone you dealt with was knowledgeable and super nice.

Were their for a wedding. Venue was very beautiful. Food was delicious. The only reason why not 5stars is the wait staff. Heard them constantly talking about the guests. Complaining or muddering other things. Was not the kind of behavior that one expects at a wedding or any high profile event.

The garden City hotel hosted an amazing wedding for my friend. The service was exceptional and the wait staff went out of the way to keep the bride and groom happy and taken care of with food and drinks as they walked around and spent time with everyone. Would definitely recommend it to another.

The Decor may be divine but the staff is classless, rude, and insulting. I was not allowed without a prior reservation. When you ask the front desk questions they ignore you, if its not within their job description they will walk away from you. They talk down to their guests and they are very dismissive to guest questions. I do not recommend this hotel. The hotel may be nice to look at but one would rather be treated like a human being instead of being treated like a peasant and paying overpriced fees for a hotel that is not located in the NYC and is only located on Long Island. I highly suggest management teaches staff to treat guests with respect.

Very nice and quaint. Luxury style hotel. Great large rooms for conferences. Gym is nice and updated. Room is very spacious and clean. The room attendants comes at least twice a day to freshen the sheets and washrooms. They'll even pick up the stuffs you leave on the floor and reorganize it for you. If you've left your luggage on the ground from the check-in night or any other night, they'll pick-it up and put it on a stand for you so you don't have to bend over to get it. Food served during the conferences dine in were very good. Desserts were even better.

I'm going to be late to my own wedding because they will not check me in at 3 which was discussed over the phone weeks ago. They are offering me to shower and change into my tux at the POOL LOCKER ROOM. So now I'm sitting and waiting to be checked in at 4 which could still be after 4 and I'm supposed to be on the way to my wedding at 4. I have no service and now a dead phone. I can't charge, I can't shave, I cant do anything. Ruined my day. Never again will I ever come back. I will do my best to let everyone know not to come here. I'm so livid right now. Family and my wife will be waiting over an hour for me. Photographer will take pictures without me there. Great way to make me feel good on my day.

We stayed here after our flight was cancelled and all of the cheaper hotels were booked up. So this isn't our usual kind of place. However, we had a marvelous time. The beds were crazy comfortable, bathroom was immaculate, and the service was very friendly.
Because of the storm, we were also forced to eat breakfast on sight. We had the delicious, continental breakfast for $30 each.

Terrible service, could not check in even though the rooms were prepaid. Have told everyone I know to avoid this place and the terrible management (Grace Koerner) who will stoop to any length, including lying to guests and boldfaced lying online, poor service and zero cares about their customers, they just want to overcharge you and get you out of their face. Such an elitist joke and it s not even in Manhattan. Will continue to steer people away from the, the bad experiences are not worth taking a chance on.

We recently booked a block of rooms for our son's wedding and held our rehearsal dinner there. The staff is great, food at the rehearsal dinner was delicious and beautifully presented. The hotel and event rooms are quite lovely. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is some of our guests rooms were on the second floor right above the ballroom where there were wedding receptions both Friday and Saturday nites that went until midnite or later. Very noisy. So ask for rooms above the second floor.

Very beautiful hotel with fantastic food. I attended a wedding here, and it was pretty wonderful. The price is a little steep and some guests rooms weren t ready for check-in, but besides that, wonderful place.

Maybe 20+ years ago this place was 'da bomb', but they are still stuck in the past. Kind like Grandma - you might like her, but she smells and looks like an old lady. Just dated and has a poor feel. The restraunt was awful too. Unfortunately, there are not a ton of hotels on the island, but the Fox Hollow Inn is still a better option. Honestly, if you just want a clean, new room hit a Hampton Inn, which is very reliable and my fall back, go to spot.

Went for the brunch buffet at the hotel. All the food was good, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. The only negative I would say was that the buffet area got crowded very quickly and that space is pretty tight so it was a little difficult going from one thing to the next.

I often stop into the bar with a friend. The drinks, service and food are always amazing. Tonight s experience started horrible when me and my date were not allowed to a table. A waitress curtly told us that we were only to sit at the bar. It was too close to closing (we called ahead to make sure and there was at least a half hour left). Where a bar tab easily runs 100 dollars for a few drinks asking for a small table is not a tall order. Literally no one was waiting in the lobby and a ground occupied the couches that were otherwise free to use. This is more than being petty. We are openly and outwardly unapologetically gay it s just easier not to attract attention and makes us feel safer to have a somewhat secluded experience. It may seem absurd but there are still safety concerns at times. I digress. That s horrible customer service in any setting. However, once we made our was to the bar we found that tonight s bartender was exceptional. He made an amazing drink and gave us ideas on where to find late night eats. He was a true conversationalist. Long story short, the waitress was unnecessarily, and shamelessly, in refusing to accommodate a reasonable request. However, that s just how exceptional the bartender was with his conversational and drink making skills. I give him five stars but am disappointed with the waitress when and how she replied to a reasonable request.

Beautiful neighborhood, very nice and comfortable hotel. We got good rate, reasonable restaurants nearby and Long Island train station across the street. Near our business, great place to stay!

not a great first impression. paid extra for the penthouse. settled into the room to rest, called down for wine glasses and opener and got charged 7.50. about a half hour later a family of four moved in next door with a barking dog. kids trying to open door between suites, thin walls, and a long wait for service resolution. have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels and this does not make the grade in my opinion.

Sunday Brunch: Buffet service central to one of several large rooms. Lovely mirrored space, well lit with comfortable seating. Waitstaff attentive for drink orders and clearing empty plates. Food selections varied and plentiful, including omelette station chef, crepes chef (dessert station), salads, seafood (lobster, jumbo shrimp, calamari, etc.), guacamole and chips,
hot meats carving station (steaks), and
offerings of lamb, chicken, lemon potatoes,
sausages/crispy bacon strips.
Desserts included fresh fruits, chocolate
fountain, chocolate mousse, scrumptious
fudge "lollipops" dipped in peanut bits, and cheesecake, chocolate layer cake, and
chocolate chip cookies.
A stroll across from the main hotel entrance
provided a beautifully landscaped lounging
area for enjoying the view of the hotel.
We dined as a group of 14 guests to
celebrate my cousin's 70th birthday.

Don't use the car service from JFK - it's a checker cab and was 40 minutes late. The hotel has so much potential but the smell of cigarette smoke permeated every fabric. Our room was large and the bathroom a nice size but once again the smell of smoke was in the room. The air conditioning system is an older version like in the motels of past and added to the foul air when we turned it on. The neighborhood was nice and the staff was pleasant but it wasn't enough for us to go again...

I stayed two night at the hotel for a wedding, that did not take place in the hotel. The stay was without issue, except for a minor inconvenience with early check in. We called the night before to see if we could check in before the standard 4pm check in time. We wanted to check in for 1pm because we had a very important item that needed to be stored. We were told that a one 1pm check would be fine, however when we arrived we were told that we would not be able to do an early check in due to booking issues. The staff did all they could to accommodate, by allowing us to use the pool area to bathe and they stored our item for us. The hotel has a very posh appeal and the rooms on the 8th floor are very spacious (we were able to see five different rooms because of our other traveling companions). The hotel however is not inexpensive but you do get what you pay for. The valets were also very helpful and accommodating. The surrounding area does have a number of shopping and eatting establishments which are in either walking our driving distance. I would recommend a stay.

While my room at the Garden City Hotel was satisfactory, I was disappointed with customer service and availability. Upon leaving the hotel in the morning, I noticed that my car was broken into while parked in hotel parking, with money stolen. It took 4 calls over 3 days for me to get in touch with a security manager, who offered little help. I am disappointed in the lack of response to this incident and am unlikely to stay there again.

I attended an event at the Garden City Hotel and the service was impeccable. I drove up to the valet parking and was greeted with a "good morning" and a smile. I walked in and was greeted again. The exterior and interior was so beautiful and architectural done. The wait staff for the event were very good and of course the breakfast was very tasty. The eggs and potatoes was excellent and best I have tasted at an event. I would definitely return not just for an event.
