My wife and I stayed over a weeknight for our 51st anniversary and we have never been treated so courteously anywhere! Our valet Abe and the check-in girl Christine were the most helpful and friendliest people at any hotel ever. Right from the doorman on we couldn't have been more pleased with the service. We ate at the Red Salt Room in the hotel and the food and service were excellent. We will definitely be telling our friends about our wonderful experience there!

This is the absolute worst hotel experience I've ever had. We checked into the hotel for a long term stay due to a fire in our house. The rooms were barely ever cleaned - really untouched, they hardly ever held the door open for us, we have an infant. We asked for some type of accommodation due to all the inconveniences- they gave us a cheap breakfast which they made a very big deal out of for one morning. Which not to mention almost all the other guests had. We were booked for 3 weeks and they kicked out us for one night without any notice, only to return the following night, all this with 3 small children, They treated us like garbage. I am in absolute shock at the service and needless to say extremely disappointed.

Had business dinner tuesday. Food was delectable as always. Steve the restaurant manager and our waiter Kyle ensured excellent first class service. Thank you Steve for the wine suggestion. We loved it!

Beautiful, spacious, luxurious hotel around one of the nicest areas in Long Island. I usually come to NY for business and I am pretty used to small rooms, high price, ridiculous parking fee hotels with lots of noise and funky smells lol! But from the moment I entered this hotel I was pleasantly impressed. First, the area around it is beautiful, the hotel offers complimentary valet, the hotel building inside and out is spotless and elegant. Also, customer service from everyone (valet person, front desk, cleaning staff) is excellent. There is a spa that I m planning to use tomorrow and a well-known chef in their restaurants. What a gem and a pleasant surprise! I highly recommend it and I m planning to stay here again when I come for business.

The worst hotel ever!!!!!!!!!

The worst hotel ever!!!!!!!!!
The water stopped in the midnight.
The shuttle bus to mall suddenly canceled and the next one delayed about more than 30 mins (according to the explanation from the staff, they said because the shuttle bus service is different company so they cannot do anything )
In the evening, the wedding event noise is too loud. And the front desk do nothing only said it will last until 00:30. It totally effects my sleeping quality.
It really is the worst hotel I ever stayed!!!!!!!

The remarkable can sometimes be lost in a sea of clutter and overlooked as a bedrock is often overlooked in the rubble. The Garden City Hotel knows nothing of the rubble and sits atop a peak of Garden City history that has a long view, an opulent past, and a future that looks bright while waking up and seeing the sun rise in this beautiful upscale hotel that is surprisingly affordable.

Standing at the center of one of the most beautiful and vibrant suburbs on Long Island, the Garden City Hotel offers a wonderful array of services with the emphasis always being on service.

The staff at the hotel, from the front door man, to the desk clerk, to the waiters and wait staff to the guy at the hotel store, those who work at the Garden City Hotel are genuine people who seek to make your stay a little more pleasurable at every turn.

In addition to the service at the hotel, the premises themselves are absolutely spectacular, featuring a wonderful piano filled restaurant, a more upscale dining area and a nightclub that will turn even the most frigid dancer into a virtual Fred Astaire. The food is spectacular as is the wine selection and the rooms are incredibly comfortable with bathrooms that make you never want to leave.

Overall, if you are staying in Long Island, and you want the best, at an amazingly affordable price compared with even the cheapest hotels on Long Island, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't spend at least one night at this Garden City institution, the Garden City hotel.

This hotel in engaged in unlawful billing practices. I was overbilled $230 for a 4 nights stay. The customer service agents are incompetent and rude. Take you business elsewhere - there are plenty of good choices. I requested to talk to the hotel manager to no avail.

New owners sold off all the distinctive art work that made the pedestrian architectural design of the place elegant; cheap decorator art throughout. The Marriott has better food, not that that is a standard to which to aspire.

Shower vents dirty , shower cealing looks like is going to fall, blankets had some hair maybe from previous stay. FIRE ALARM made it impossible to sleep in and rest number one reason we came here. It was loud, not real ALARM, it was blasting at 0920 till CHECK out time at 1100 Pm. All this for a price of 271.00 per night, not happy. Other than that furniture and carpets where clean and spotless. Location is a 10 of 5, it is really nice location. Reason for one star is due to ALARM, dirty sheets, bathroom dirty for the price of 271.00.

The bed linen hasn't changed when I checked in, and public hair everywhere, on bed and in toilet walls. It happened not only one time but almost every time! I had no choice but staying here with company group, that sounds really sad isn't it? If I had choice I would never stay here.

If you are anything other than white don t stay at this hotel. The staff profiles guests, are unprofessional, and racist. To think it s 2018 and NY one of the most diverse places in the world and the staff here is living in the 1940 s. Extremely disappointed!!

This place is so clean and accommodating. Everyone is professional and very helpful. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds are most pleasing. Also the food and drinks here are outstanding, a bit pricey but worth every penny. This hotel is one of the hidden secrets in long island.

This hotel receptionist Eleanor is very racist and nasty. She was very rude to my bridal party and myself. While I was speaking to her she walked off and attended to a white customer, as if I don t carry the same money. The day of my wedding I was forced to find another hotel because of their own error. Please don t support their business.

The Garden City Hotel brunch is a great experience. Wonderful setting in a first class hotel, with lots of choices. Most items are individually portioned so you are encouraged to try and experiment without feeling like you are wasting food. Many seafood choices and desserts to chose from. Wait staff is superb and very attentive. Recommended for special family events throughout the year, but especially well decorated for the holidays.

My personal experience with the hotel manager Racio Jimenez was poor... On my wedding night we left 30 minutes after the late check-out she had given us & we're charged $50 plus tax. Hard to believe they were so full that they couldn't be accommodating during COVID

This is the only place to stay when traveling to Long Island as it is first class all the way with 5 STAR Accommodations, Food & Service!!! They just did a gut renovation and the place is gorgeous inside and out, along with 3 new David Burke restaurants within the property. We tried the Patio Bar And Grill on our first night since we arrived late and had the most scrumptious surf and turf dumplings after 2 cocktails form their unique drink list! The location is serene and next to the village of Garden City which you can walk to in a minute or borrow a bike from the hotel to explore further, so cool and only 20 minute ride from JFK!!!

We had one of the best stays in recent memory as the staff made sure we always had what we needed and are so friendly. The rooms are huge and they have a great indoor pool and Red Door Spa which we took full advantage of for a couples massage. We cannot say enough good things and will be sure to return anytime we travel to Long island, Enjoy!!!!

Two words: BED BUGS. I entered the Garden City Hotel full of excitement because of the grandeur and beauty I experienced upon arrival. The gardens were perfectly tailored, the staff was inviting and cheerful, and the inside of the hotel was stunning. My boyfriend and I went up to our room and proceeded down the outdoor bar. We were down there for about 2 hours before returning to our room. When we got back up there, we were on the bed for about 20 minutes before we saw the first big run across the comforter. Upon further examination it looked like a bed bug. Another five minutes went by and we saw another, full sized bug on the pillow. I then examined the rest of the bed and was shocked to see at least 15 visible bugs on the headboard. Most were adult but there were eggs and babies too. We immediately called the front desk and were given a better room. In the morning we went to speak to the manager who tried to tell us that he was aware of the situation and was told it was lady bugs?! What irked me the most is that not only did he not ask what happened, he just assumed that the information the night manager gave him was factual, and then offered us a bottle of champagne as compensation. He then explained that they sent a sample to a lab to be tested. I was in shock that he wouldn t even lol at the picture I took and thought that a bottle of champagne would be enough to make up for the fact that now all of our clothing has to be dry cleaned. Long story short, the next day we had to press the issue further until they deducted the price of our first nights stay. I would not recommend this place again to anyone.

Staff is beyond terrible and management is there to justify why staff made mistakes. Save your money and stay away from this hotel specially if you are looking to do an event at this hotel

My mentor treated me to the Polo Steakhouse brunch buffet where I enjoyed endless options of food and mimosas. I loved the seafood options that consist fresh lobster tails, crab legs and shrimp. There is a omelet and crepe station. I even loved the mash potatoes and sliced chicken breast. I almost got disappointed when the buffet only had pork saugages and bacon on display, since I don't eat pork or red meat. But the moment I questioned our waiter about their alternatives options, he went into the kitchen and came out with 2 grilled strips of turkey bacon hot and ready. I really appreciated the customer service and hospitality from the waiter, bartner, staff and restaurant manager.
